Conversation – 16
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 16 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 7 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread.
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

The contractors are done. I am exhausted. There is not one room, not one closet that wasn’t touched. I still have to put the rest of our computer together and not to mention the printer.
We have lab work today for upcoming doctor visits.
Just wanted to let you know that we are both OK.

Sheba, good evening. Well, I am not usually aware of an endorphins while hiking. Maybe because I am too busy trying to hike up a hill and breath lol, however, always feel better for the rest of the day and calmer too. I prefer being outdoors to the gyms. You may be right on schedule at 30 minutes, so great you notice it. Oh, these Coyotes… very good survivors!
Poppi will be adorable and maybe warmer in his gear as well. Some people around here are rumored to leave dog food out so these Coyotes look very healthy.
Your cookies look and sound delicious. You motivated me to bake some chocolate chip cookies, straight from the nestles cookie dough roll in my refrigerator, uhm no not from scratch like you do. Left the last batch in for too long but no one seemed to mind.Have a good evening. Heard Heidi Daus is on briefly tomorrow evenning.

Peace Out Peeps! Have a great evening. ✨✨

The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald
Song by Gordon LightfootThe legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they called Gitche Gumee
The lake, it is said, never gives up her dead
When the skies of November turn gloomy
With a load of iron ore twenty-six thousand tons more
Than the Edmund Fitzgerald weighed empty
That good ship and true was a bone to be chewed
When the gales of November came early
The ship was the pride of the American side
Coming back from some mill in Wisconsin
As the big freighters go, it was bigger than most
With a crew and good captain well seasoned
Concluding some terms with a couple of steel firms
When they left fully loaded for Cleveland
And later that night when the ship’s bell rang
Could it be the north wind they’d been feelin’?
The wind in the wires made a tattle-tale sound
And a wave broke over the railing
And every man knew, as the captain did too
T’was the witch of November come stealin’
The dawn came late and the breakfast had to wait
When the gales of November came slashin’
When afternoon came it was freezin’ rain
In the face of a hurricane west wind
When suppertime came, the old cook came on deck sayin’
“Fellas, it’s too rough to feed ya”
At seven PM, a main hatchway caved in, he said
“Fellas, it’s been good to know ya”
The captain wired in he had water comin’ in
And the good ship and crew was in peril
And later that night when his lights went outta sight
Came the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald
Does any one know where the love of God goes
When the waves turn the minutes to hours?
The searchers all say they’d have made Whitefish Bay
If they’d put fifteen more miles behind her
They might have split up or they might have capsized
They may have broke deep and took water
And all that remains is the faces and the names
Of the wives and the sons and the daughters
Lake Huron rolls, Superior sings
In the rooms of her ice-water mansion
Old Michigan steams like a young man’s dreams
The islands and bays are for sportsmen
And farther below Lake Ontario
Takes in what Lake Erie can send her
And the iron boats go as the mariners all know
With the gales of November remembered
In a musty old hall in Detroit they prayed
In the maritime sailors’ cathedral
The church bell chimed ’til it rang twenty-nine times
For each man on the Edmund Fitzgerald
The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they called Gitche Gumee
Superior, they said, never gives up her dead
When the gales of November come early -

Carly Simon
“That’s The Way I’ve Always Heard It Should Be”My father sits at night with no lights on
His cigarette glows in the dark.
The living room is still;
I walk by, no remark.
I tiptoe past the master bedroom where
My mother reads her magazines.
I hear her call sweet dreams,
But I forgot how to dream. But you say it’s time we moved in together
And raised a family of our own, you and me –
Well, that’s the way I’ve always heard it should be:
You want to marry me, we’ll marry.My friends from college they’re all married now;
They have their houses and their lawns.
They have their silent noons,
Tearful nights, angry dawns.
Their children hate them for the things they’re not;
They hate themselves for what they are-
And yet they drink, they laugh,
Close the wound, hide the scar. But you say it’s time we moved in together
And raised a family of our own, you and me –
Well, that’s the way I’ve always heard it should be:
You want to marry me, we’ll marry. You say we can keep our love alive
Babe – all I know is what I see –
The couples cling and claw
And drown in love’s debris.
You say we’ll soar like two birds through the clouds,
But soon you’ll cage me on your shelf –
I’ll never learn to be just me first
By myself.Well O.K., it’s time we moved in together
And raised a family of our own, you and me –
Well, that’s the way I’ve always heard it should be,
You want to marry me, we’ll marry,
We’ll marry. -
Paradise
SadeI’d wash the sand off the shore
Give you the world if it was mine
Blow you right to my door
Feels fine
Feels like
You’re mine
Feels right
So fine
I’m yours
You’re mine
Like paradise
I’d give you the world if it was mine
Feels fine
I’d wash the sand off the shore
Give you the world if it was mine
Blow you right to my door
Feels fine
Feels like
You’re mine
Feels right
So fine
I’m yours
You’re mine
Like paradise
Oooh what a life
Oooh what a life
Oooh what a life
Oooh what a life
I wanna share my life
Wanna share my life with you
Wanna share my life
Oooh what a life

Oh, what do you think about that
Now you know how I feel
Say, you can handle my love, are you for real
(Are you for real)
I won’t be hasty, I’ll give you a try
If you really bug me then I’ll say goodbye
Yo, I’ll tell you what I want, what I really, really want
So tell me what you want, what you really, really want
I wanna, (ha) I wanna, (ha) I wanna, (ha) I wanna, (ha)
I wanna really, really, really wanna zigazig ah
If you wanna be my lover, you gotta get with my friends

If you wanna be my lover, you have got to give
(You’ve got to give)
Taking is too easy, but that’s the way it is
So, here’s a story from A to Z
You wanna get with me, you gotta listen carefully
We got Em in the place who likes it in your face
You got G like MC who likes it on a

And as for me, ha you’ll see
Slam your body down and wind it all around

If you wanna be my lover, you gotta get with my friends
(Gotta get with my friends)
Make it last forever, friendship never ends
If you wanna be my lover, you have got to give
(You’ve got to give)
Taking is too easy, but that’s the way it is
If you wanna be my lover
You gotta, you gotta, you gotta, you gotta, you gotta
Slam, slam, slam, slam (make it last forever)
Slam your body down and wind it all around
Slam your body down and wind it all around
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha
Slam your body down and wind it all around
Slam your body down and zigazig ah
If you wanna be my lover -
What’s Going On
Song by Marvin GayeMother, mother
There’s too many of you crying
Brother, brother, brother
There’s far too many of you dying
You know we’ve got to find a way
To bring some lovin’ here today, yeah
Father, father
We don’t need to escalate
You see, war is not the answer
For only love can conquer hate
You know we’ve got to find a way
To bring some lovin’ here today
Picket lines and picket signs
Don’t punish me with brutality
Talk to me
So you can see
Oh, what’s going on (What’s going on)
What’s going on (What’s going on)
What’s going on (What’s going on)
What’s going on (What’s going on)
Right on, baby
Right on, baby
Right on
Mother, mother
Everybody thinks we’re wrong
Oh, but who are they to judge us
Simply ’cause our hair is long
Oh, you know we’ve got to find a way
To bring some understanding here today
Picket lines and picket signs
Don’t punish me with brutality
Come on talk to me
So you can see
What’s going on (What’s going on)
Yeah, what’s going on (What’s going on)
Tell me what’s going on (What’s going on)
I’ll tell you, what’s going on (What’s going on) -
You’re The Only Woman
Song by AmbrosiaI don’t know how this whole business started
Of you thinkin’ that I have been untrue
But if you think that we’d be better parted
It’s gonna hurt me, but I’ll break away from you
Just give me the sign and I will be gone
Yeah, yeah, yeah
‘Cause that’s how much I feel
Feel for you, baby
(How much I need) well I need your touch
(How much I live) I live for your loving
That’s how much (that’s how much)
That’s how much, that’s how much
I sleep alone and late at night I’m dreamin’
Of the togetherness that seems to be leaving me
I’d give it all and then I’d give some more
If you would only love me like you had before
Take hold of my hand and all will be forgiven
Yeah, yeah, yeah
‘Cause that’s how much I feel
Feel for you, baby
(How much I need) well I need your touch
(How much I live) I live for your loving
That’s how much (that’s how much)
Well that’s how much, that’s how much
And so you try (try)
Try to stay in the middle (try)
And then you cry (cry)
Well you cry just a little (cry)
And then you both realize
Just how foolish you’ve been
So you try to make amends
But you’re better off as friends
That’s how much (that’s how much)
Well that’s how much, that’s how much
How’s your life been goin’ on?
I’ve got a wife now, for years we’ve been goin’ strong
But there’s just something that I’ve got to say
Sometimes when we make love
I still see your face
Just try to recall
When we were as one, yeah
‘Cause that’s how much I feel
Feel for you, baby
(How much I need) well I need your touch
(How much I live) I live for your loving
That’s how much -

Hello to you, hubby and Poppy in OZ. That soup looks delicious, I think that’s what I will have for dinner tonight. I don’t think we will be going anywhere this Thanksgiving, not flying that’s for sure. I am making my list for groceries and I will be cooking, right now not sure if anyone is coming over.
I sure I would love one of your pies, your neighbors are lucky. Not sure what I am making for dessert. I think I am over thinking this time, I need to take a step back and just think what to make this year.
I am glad you are feeling better.
Take care Sheba -
Good afternoon to you. So far, so good, with my husband and any colds.🤧 He will see the friend tomorrow so I hope he is much better.🤞 Hubs will be getting a stress test and echo beginning of December since it’s been seven years since his bypass surgery. Sooo, more tests to worry about.😮 I have not forgotten yours coming up next month.💗
We definitely have enough hands to handle Thanksgiving. Waiting for my mom to tell me what kind of pies she wants before I go shopping.🥧 I so wish the four of us could spend an afternoon drinking tea/coffee/wine of one’s choice and laughing away.😂 You can bring the oatmeal raisin cookies – we all love them!🍪 Poppy is invited, too!🐶 That’s us getting ready to dine in the picture.

Communication
Expressing ourselves honestly in any relationship is essential to our well-being.
When we are in a relationship where we feel listened to and understood, we count ourselves lucky because we know how rare that experience is. We reserve our most intimate selves for the people who, along with us, cocreate an open space where we feel free to express ourselves and listen without judgment. These relationships, which thrive on open communication, can mean the difference between existential loneliness and a deep sense of belonging. We all long to feel heard, understood, and loved, and clear communication makes this possible.
Sometimes problems arise in the process of expressing how we feel, but it is always worth it to do the work. Even in our less intimate relationships, expressing ourselves honestly is essential to our sense of well-being. Whether at home with family or in the outside world, successful communication requires some forethought; otherwise we risk blundering through our relationships like the proverbial bull in a china shop. However, too much forethought can stifle us or cause us to pad our words so extremely that we end up saying nothing at all or confusing the matter further. The good news is that there are many methods that can come to our rescue, from meditation to visualization to journaling.
If the person we need to communicate with is open to sitting in meditation together for a set period of time before speaking, this can be invaluable. When we are calm and centered, we can count on ourselves to speak and respond truthfully. We can also meditate on our own time and then practice what we need to say. A visualization in which we sit with the person and lovingly exchange a few words can also be a great precedent to an actual conversation. If writing comes easily, we can write out what we need to say; it may take several drafts, but we will eventually find the words. The key is to find ways to center ourselves so that we communicate meaningfully, lovingly, and wisely. In this way, we honor our companions and create relationships in which there is a genuine sense of understanding and respect.
As I always say AMEN! ✨✨🌹
