Conversation 29

Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is number 29 out of the
series. I created and started this thread 11 years. 😎🎈
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe. 🌹✨😎

This thread is closed and I have started a new one. 💕😎🎈
HSN will you please close this thread.
Thank you. 😎

Good day on the Gulf Coast of Florida. 🎈😎I am a bit under the weather with a slight
cold due to all the weather changes here in OZ.I hope you had help with the flower pots. Good on you to contact the Social Worker
for hubby. 😎
I am having problems with the Recaptcha acting funny. So beware.
OZ is alright today and I am over the hump with this slight cold. 😎I just had some
chicken soup and tea. 💕 -
So sorry to hear you are under the weather. Please be careful during the process of winter going into spring and vice versa. Maybe you should let Poppy out in the backyard to do his thing until you feel better. For sore throats and losing voice I do use manuka honey in tea. I have also used a smidgen in soup. For some reason it works. Always remember that the higher the number, the better it is. Also tastes better.
I did not see hubby yesterday. I did do something to my arms and lower back. Standing on a step ladder to clean the inside of the cabinets turned out to be a no no. Left leg wouldn’t let me stand without pain. So today will do laundry. Right now my kitchen area looks like a cyclone hit it. I have the decorator coming tomorrow, so I will hit that area in a few minutes and do what I can.
I contacted the Social Worker this morning and explained the situation with the roommate. The hours for visiting the Rehab begin at 9 am and lasts the entire day. Because the neighborhood leaves a lot to be desired, I try to leave no later than 9:30 pm. If I’m not home by
10:30-11pm, my neighbor will be on the phone with the Sheriff’s office since she is an employee there. This happened for the first time a week and a half ago when I took ill while visiting hubby. I was able to make it to the car after 11pm while listening to the rants from the roommate. That’s when I saw a helicopter in the vicinity and did not realize I was being followed from above. That helicopter remained overhead until I was able to get out of the car and open the other door to get my carryall . I have thanked her several times since.I will give you an update later if I can. Have much to do and a hubby to see. Cannot wait to bring him home and not have to drive to and from the Rehab.
-
Good Evening seems you got a lot done in the past two days. Good on you for reporting
that mean room mate. 😎I do feel bad for people who have no visitors or someone close
who care about them.I am glad your husband have you. 💕

-
Good morning in S. California. I am a bit under the weather. 😎 This is OZ. Still a chill in

Good day in the ‘burgh. 😎💕🎈😘OZ was in the 30’s this morning and we had a hard
freeze not good for the plants. I am holding off new planting until our season is full on.Wishing you and your family a great week. 😘🎈
The Recaptcha is an issue and I think I know what to do. 😎

Sending hugs and Spring to you and Jake. 😎🎈
-
Hope you are feeling a little better. My one friend just came down with something. She has a heart test next Monday so hoping she gets better in a week. You can’t be sure what you may have with so much going around.🤧
I did have some problems with the website. Got the 400 error many times. I ordered two jars of lotion, same brand but two different scents and it got split into two separate orders.🙄
Did a little spring cleaning today but not as much as I wanted, feeling tired. I’m probably catching something also. We will be down in the 20s the next two nights.🥶 Meeting mom and sis tomorrow to get nails done. I’ll be the only one wearing flip flops in 30 degree weather.👣
Have a good night’s sleep, sending hugs to you and Poppy.🤗💖 -

Good day on the Gulf Coast of Florida. Oodie I hope you are feeling just peachy keen today.
Enjoy the outdoors. 😎🎈Oz has a freeze warning I thought we were in Spring.
Enjoy the time with your husband. I know Tuesday will be a busy day with picking out
colors I hope your husband can help you pick things out too.OZ is sunny and a bit chilly and I am fine with that. 🎈😎
-
I guess I will need to wait another day before using the step ladder. I needed to use it to remove the upper shelves and found that my left leg did not like the idea. So instead, will be paying bills and doing paperwork. It has to be done anyway since it is the cause of the main clutter.
Tomorrow I expect the soil for the containers that will be here Thursday. Meanwhile, there is an opened space in the front that beckons for a plant. I purchased the Jasmine for this purpose and is doing great. Looking forward to the scent that HSN said was permeating the air around them.
I have seen many hummingbirds in Florida and decided on the butterfly plants for them and of course the numerous butterflies in the area. There have been times when one has stopped and kissed my cheek. I surmise that this is the way our parents keep an eye on us and to tease us with their presence.
Tomorrow I will be contacting the Social Worker. I definitely need to get hubby out and about and with help get him into a cart for an adventure which he hasn’t had for sometime. There has to be a way to do this. I also will let him know that there is a problem with his roommate. He has had no visitors from the day he was admitted and I think that is part of the problem. Anyway, seems that all the patients have been given a “grab” tool and he uses it to push the curtains separating him from hubby to move it back and forth. It’s like watching a child at play. An RN last night actually warned me that he could be harmful to hubby. They are keeping an eye out and checking the room often after I leave.
And speaking of hubby. Last night he reached for mu hand and gave me the hardest squeeze in a long time. He mentioned that he thought the pain could be from the A/C ducts which are above his head. Ours at home in Florida are in the floor and can be adjusted as needed.
It is a bright, sunny day. I will be heading out soon. Dress warm when venturing out with Poppy.
-
Good day in S. California. 😎🎈A very nice Sunday doing this and that.

To Sir with Love
Song by LuluThose schoolgirl days
Of telling tales and biting nails are gone
But in my mind
I know they will still live on and on
But how do you thank someone
Who has taken you from crayons to perfume?
It isn’t easy, but I’ll try
If you wanted the sky
I would write across the sky in letters
That would soar a thousand feet high
“To sir, with love”
The time has come
For closing books and long last looks must end
And as I leave
I know that I am leaving my best friend
A friend who taught me right from wrong
And weak from strong
That’s a lot to learn
What, what can I give you in return?
If you wanted the moon
I would try to make a start
But I would rather you let me give my heart
“To sir, with love” -

St. Elmo’s Fire (Man in Motion)
Song by John ParrGrowin’ up, you don’t see the writing on the wall
Passin’ by, movin’ straight ahead, you knew it all
But maybe sometime if you feel the pain
You’ll find you’re all alone, everything has changed
Play the game, you know you can’t quit until it’s won
Soldier on, only you can do what must be done
You know in some way you’re a lot like me
You’re just a prisoner and you’re tryin’ to break free
I can see a new horizon underneath the blazin’ sky
I’ll be where the eagle’s flying higher and higher
Gonna be your man in motion, all I need’s this pair of wheels
Take me where my future’s lyin’, St. Elmo’s fire (Ooh, oooh, oooh)
Burning up, don’t know just how far that I can go
(Just how far I go)
Soon be home, only just a few miles down the road
I can make it, I know, I can
You broke the boy in me but you won’t break the man
I can see a new horizon underneath the blazin’ sky
I’ll be where the eagle’s flying higher and higher
Gonna be your man in motion, all I need’s this pair of wheels
Take me where my future’s lyin’, St. Elmo’s fire
I can climb the highest mountain, cross the wildest sea
I can feel St. Elmo’s fire burnin’ in me, burnin’ in me
Just once in his life a man has his time
And my time is now, I’m coming alive
I can hear the music playin’, I can see the banners fly
Feel like you’re back again, and hope ridin’ high
Gonna be your man in motion, all I need’s this pair of wheels
Take me where my future’s lyin’, St. Elmo’s fire
Elmo’s fire burnin’ in me
Burnin’, burnin’ in me, I can feel it burnin’
St. Elmo’s fire, St. Elmo’s fire -

(Theme From) Valley of the Dolls
Song by Dionne WarwickGotta get off, gonna get
Have to get off from this ride
Gotta get hold, gonna get
Need to get hold of my pride
When did I get? Where did I?
How was I caught in this game?
When will I know? Where will I?
How will I think of my name?
When did I stop feeling sure, feeling safe
And start wondering why, wondering why?
Is this a dream? Am I here? Where are you?
What’s in back of the sky? Why do we cry?
Gotta get off, gonna get
Out of this merry-go-round
Gotta get on, gonna get
Need to get on where I’m bound
When did I get? Where did I?
Why am I lost as a lamb?
When will I know? Where will I?
How will I learn who I am?
Is this a dream? Am I here? Where are you?
Tell me
When will I know? How will I know?
When will I know why?

Good day in Florida and may this day find you doing well. I hope your arms are feeling
better today. 🎈Oz is cloudy and rainy and cool. I still went out with Poppy and I my steps in. 😎
I have a full schedule of errands to run today with hubby. 😎

I have no worries about the rain because April Showers will bring me May Flowers. 😎🎈💕
Oodie I know you are out and about please be careful. 😎
-
@Sheba 2011
Yesterday was a bad day. Arms and lower back got hit from the heavy lifting. The soil is in the trunk and thank goodness I have neighbors that can help. Today I ordered planters from Costco and potting soil from Sam’s.
I am with hubby and will be in touch with Social W worker on Monday. I think hubby would love to help me plant some of the goodies. I did purchase quite a few plants from HSN. Thank goodness, knock on wood, they arrived healthy. I also received the elephant bracelet, a Heidi item. I am definitely enchannted.
It is a breezy day on the Gulf Coast. We were expecting spring like weather beginning Tuesday. Hopefully, this will bring some necessary rain our way.
Enjoy your evening. Watch where you walk with Poppy.
-
Good evening hey take it easy. No more lifting for a while. 😎
I am glad you are almost on your feet. I can’t plant until next month
we still are cold. Oz is too cold to plant I do see some trees with leaves. 😎🎈
Enjoy your evening Oodie I am about to spend some more time with hubs. 😘💕
-
Good morning in S. California. I have no Telly on yet I am not going to stick my head in
the sand either. I am moving forward. 😎Enjoy this lovely weekend. 🎈Oz is raining and I am fine with that.

Hey enjoy the trails and the wonder all around you. 😎
-
Sheba, Lovely flowers! Dug up 2 plants a month ago and put them in pots in a dark spot under a larger bush which they seem to like much better and they started to grow. Then, Yesterday I moved them to the other side of the yard in areas that get less sun. Hopefully they like their new home and will bloom this year. I also removed all of the patio cushions and wanted to get them cleaned up. I’ll try to wash them but most likely they need to be upholstered. Only 4 chairs so 8 cushions.
Sheba, your mental health comes 1st. No need to watch the news. Hubs has it on here all the time so I get my daily dose.
Have a good weekend! -
Good evening it’s a combination of things that bothers me and there are other people who
have nothing I am pretty sure some are worried more than others.I am back to watching my Mayfair Witches and Matlock with Kathy Bates. 😎
Keep working those plants I have a lot of sun in the front and shade in the back so
I plant according to the color and how much sun the plant can handle and need. 😎🎈I have TCM OnDemand and it has a nice selection of movies and of course I have my books. 💕

Enjoy your evening OZ is cold.

We have been experiencing early summer with temps in the high 80s to the low 90s with high humidity. You would think we would have rain with the humidity being between 95 and 100%. Not a chance. We are expecting some spring like weather beginning Tuesday. Hmm…..wonder if that means some rain????
The “decorator” was a no show yesterday. Not really his fault. When he hadn’t called within a half hour of being here, I left a message on his phone. Seems there was an emergency the night prior and he left word with the office. Only the office never notified me of what was going on. So I tried calling the office and never received an answer. So today I did the same. This time I received an e-mail with an apology. Seems in his haste to let the office know there was something going on he left a message. Only the message was to an incorrect number. The decorator phoned me this afternoon and explained the situation. This has happened to me numerous times. The keypad being a bit smaller than my finger I have made some incorrect calls. This is why, before pressing the button to talk, I make sure the number is correct. We have scheduled another appointment for Tuesday. This company is 5 star across the board and is also liked by BBB which is an A+. They have a pretty good idea of our colors and hopefully they will have something hubby and I can agree on.
I made it to Sam’s yesterday. They had both potting and regular soil on sale. There was no one around to ask for help in loading it into the carriage. I went to CS and said to try to do it myself. Seems they were very short handed. It took some doing, but got them into the carriage. There was no problem in checking out. However, unloading from carriage to car was. I cannot begin to tell you how many men past by and not one offered to help. Thankfully, they are in the trunk. It took a while. Funny, I do not have this problem at Costco.
Hubby was in the TV room when I arrived. He was still eating his dinner so I brought mine to eat with him. So much fun. We haven’t done this in months. That is, having dinner together at a regular table and enjoying the TV at the same time. I did not go today. My arms were really bothering me from lifting those two soil things from yesterday. I will be there tomorrow. Did find out that our aide worked the first shift today. I’m thinking he was filling in for someone else. Not sure.
-
Good Evening so sorry about the lifting yesterday. I feel that is a bit much.
Can you take anything for the aches? Good thing you have warm weather.OZ is raining and cold and will be all weekend. I will start new plants next month.
We are having April Showers and I will enjoy it. 💕😎
Try some hot tea with your Manuka Honey and a good book. 😎💕

-
Good Friday afternoon to you. Cloudy and cool today, more rain and thunderstorms through the weekend.⛈ It will be in the 30’s Monday or Tuesday. Is it Spring yet?
All is back to normal at mom’s. Sis was very tired from the long day Wednesday and jet lag.
Since I didn’t have to go to mom’s today, I am cooking up some fish and mac and cheese for dinner.🐟🧀 C’mon over, I have plenty, bring hubs and Poppy. Friends and a black/white Russian sounds just fine! Not much planned for the weekend with the forecast.
Sending love and hugs, the door will be open!🤗💖
-
Good evening OZ is raining and cold. I love to drop in for a visit and a great meal. 💕😎🎈
I will bring the wine. 💕🎈Glad your sister is home and resting.
I made salmon I baked it and had wild rice and home made salad. 💕😎
Hubs enjoyed every bit of it. I am going to jump in the shower and get under
the covers.
🎶Over bridge of sighs
To rest my eyes in shades of green
Under dreaming spires
To Itchycoo Park, that’s where I’ve been
I got high
(What did you feel there?) well, I cried
(But why the tears there?) tell you why
It’s all too beautiful, it’s all too beautiful
It’s all too beautiful, it’s all too beautiful
I feel inclined to blow my mind
Get hung up, feed the ducks with a bun
They all come out to groove about
Be nice and have fun in the sun
I’ll tell you what I’ll do (what will you do?) I’d like to go there now with you
You can miss out school (won’t that be cool?) why go to learn the words of fools?
we’ll get high
(What will we touch there?) we’ll touch the sky
(But why the tears there?) I’ll tell you why
It’s all too beautiful, it’s all too beautiful
It’s all too beautiful, it’s all too beautiful🎶🎶Music in my head goodnight. 💕

NATIONAL TWEED DAY
On April 3rd each year, National Tweed Day focuses on all things tweed. This day has a couple of approaches to celebrating the day, so you decide which one you believe is the source of National Tweed Day.
-

NATIONAL BURRITO DAY
National Burrito Day on the first Thursday in April celebrates the tasty and versatile Mexican dish wrapped in a tortilla.
A burrito is a heavy tortilla wrapped around meat, cheese, tomato, rice, beans, vegetables, and sauces. Like many other tortilla dishes, the burrito is flexible. The cook chooses the meat fillings from ground beef, shredded chicken, shredded beef or shredded pork. The same applies to the bean choices, often ranging from black, red, whole or refried beans. Once again, the flexibility of choice applies to the vegetables allowing the cook to grill the vegetables or keep them fresh. Spices such as cumin, chili powder, and oregano give the burritos an authentic Mexican flavor. For added crunch, chimichangas are burritos that have been deep-fried.
The word burrito first appeared in the Dictionary of Mexicanisms in 1895. The Guanajuato region of Mexico uses the term and means little donkey in Spanish. It is possible that it stems from the appearance of the packs and bedrolls donkeys used to carry. In other regions of Mexico, similar types of food are known as flauta.
The burrito was introduced in the United States in the 1930s at the El Cholo Spanish Café in Los Angeles. Since then, the burrito has found its way to menus all across the United States. Home cooks serve the burrito because it’s a crowd-pleaser and filling, too.

NATIONAL FILM SCORE DAY
On April 3rd, National Film Score Day recognizes the musical masterpieces called “Film Scores” and, more specifically, the very talented composers who create them.
As the opening scenes of a long-anticipated movie begin flickering across the screen, a rising cadence undulates through the theater setting the mood. A musical note plays, then two. Soon the theater fills with a beautifully layered orchestral music masterwork. This musical accompaniment to the film you are watching is called the “Film Score.”
Imagine your favorite film without a few well-placed notes enhancing the emotion of a dramatic on-screen exchange. Or a chase scene without rousing orchestral music elevating the intensity. Would Star Wars, Jaws, The Lord of the Rings films, or the Harry Potter films be the same without their complementary musical scores? Without the film score, would we cower so easily in fear from our seats? Would our imaginations so eagerly suspend from reality? Music heightens emotions. It also sharpens our senses and focuses our attention. Without a doubt, the film score is the fiery soul of a film.

NATIONAL FIND A RAINBOW DAY
Each year on April 3rd, National Find a Rainbow Day challenges us to look to the sky and find a colorful ray of hope cast across it.
A spectrum of light in the form of a multicolored arc, appearing in the sky, is caused by both reflection and refraction of light in water droplets in the Earth’s atmosphere. These rainbows always appear directly opposite of the sun. The light is refracted (bent) when it enters a droplet of water, then is reflected inside on the back of the droplet and refracted again when leaving it.
Red is the color that is visible on the outer part of arainbow and violet on the inside of a primary rainbow. Children learn in science class the mnemonic ROYGBIV to help them to remember the sequence of colors in a rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet. Many forms of airborne water can causerainbows including, rain, mist, spray, and dew.
