I do not think it’s your computer. There is a glitch with HSN tonight. People are having problems with the Arcade as well. Rest tonight and try again in the am.. I am also having some difficulties accessing other web sites. We had a huge storm yesterday, early evening and it lasted over 3 hours. Have a feeling that HSN had some problems because of it. I also had some problems trying to evade puddles in the road going home from rehab. Good thing hubby was asleep when I left. Take care and stay safe. Doing a happy dance that you are feeling better.

NATIONAL LEMON DAY

On July 23, National Lemon Day squeezes it’s way into our day just in time to celebrate our summertime festivities. It would take at least 400 years for the contemporary lemon to appear as an abundant tree. Around 700 AD, lemons became a part of trade in Europe and reached the Americas by the 1400s. Hispanics receive credit for bringing lemons into the U.S. by the early 1700s. Today, lemons are found all over the world as part of our culinary creations and for medicinal uses.

NATIONAL PEACH ICE CREAM DAY

National Peach Ice Cream Day on July 17 sweetens the day with a few scoops at the peak of peach season. Since peaches begin peaking in July, this celebration comes just in time. Plus, it also lands right in the middle of National Ice Cream Month.

So, it’s an excellent time to add peach ice cream to the growing list of flavors to choose from when it comes to frozen, creamy treats.

Generally speaking, there are two types of peaches – freestone and clingstone. The difference has to do with how the flesh comes away from the stone or the pit in the middle of the peach. When the meat comes away freely from the stone, the peach is a freestone peach; if the flesh clings to it, it’s a clingstone.

While Georgia may be the first state to come to mind when we think of peaches, California actually leads the nation in production. In the United States, 20 states produce peaches commercially. Besides California and Georgia, the other two top producers are South Carolina and New Jersey. Pennsylvania and Washington grow a lot of peaches, too.

This sweet stone fruit makes delicious ice cream when it’s very ripe and full of peachy juices. However, you don’t have to use fresh peaches to make this ice cream. Buy frozen peaches if the grocery or farmer’s markets don’t have them in yet. The family will love making homemade ice cream together. The best part will be eating up the finished product on a hot summer day.

WORLD EMOJI DAY

July 17 recognizes World Emoji Day and many of the world’s symbolic icons for digital calendars. The day encourages us to use emojis to send unique messages.

Before the emoji, there were emoticons. Emoticons (emotion + icon) was developed as an expression of emotions in the cold hard texts that were devoid of them.

Emoji, a Japanese expression, roughly means “picture word” and was created by Shigetaka Kurita in 1990. While working for the Japanese telecom company NTT Docomo, Kurita would design these picture words as a feature on their pagers to make them more appealing to teens.

The release of the first iPhone by Apple in 2007 had an emoji keyboard embedded into the phone to nab the Japanese market. While not intended for U.S. users to find, they did and quickly figured out how to use it.

Every year new emojis (both emoji and emojis are acceptable plural forms of the word) are developed. The emojipedia.org keeps track of all the emoji updates across all platforms and operating systems. Over 1800 emojis cover much more than just emotions. From transportation, food, an assortment of wild and domesticated animals to social platforms, weather, and bodily functions, emojis virtually speak for themselves.

When it comes to celebration emojis, the designers created a variety to make sure we could express our excitement. Whether we celebrate the arrival of a new baby, an anniversary, or a birthday, there’s something for every celebration. In fact, if we search our emojis carefully, we could probably Celebrate Every Day® on National Day Calendar® emoji style.

NATIONAL HOT DOG DAY

National Hot Dog Day in July celebrates a summertime staple on a bun. Enjoy one piping hot and add some relish and mustard to go! One thing we want to know – is it a sandwich or not?

Celebrated every year during National Hot Dog Month, this day pays homage to the frankfurter, the footlong or wienie, wiener, wienerwurst or even red hot. They taste just as great no matter what we call it.

Over 25 million hot dogs are sold at baseball stadiums each year.

We make them a variety of ways. They’re portable and easy to make. While many of us prefer them grilled or toasted over a fire, we also boil, pan-fry, and rotisserie-cook them. Did you see the bad storms in IL last night?
After about 24 hrs. I have power now.We have a generator so it made things easier.
Probably 10 touchdowns and a couple were around me.We were in the basement that’s for sure.
For the first time ever an alert came over my phone as critical.Never saw that before.
Like you always say,stay safe! And ,we did thanks!

I will not leave in OZ without a basement it is very comfortable and if something should

Even though I was highly hydrated I still was ill. Had a dental appointment yesterday and became quite dizzy in the chair. It soon past. As I left, noticed that the sky was darkening and decided to do a slight detour on the way home. Stopped at the Farmer’s Market and did major damage to my credit card. The only thing I did not purchase was the honeydew. The day I decide to make the soup, will purchase that. I may also add dragon fruit as well. I have one of the pots from Wolfgang Puck and I can see why everyone loves the sets.

News on hubs. I was with him on Monday and while there a team of people came in. One was a man who is in charge of the nurses, and Unit Managers. He introduced himself and hubby became quite the guy. This time he was asking questions. More than anything he wants to return home. The people agreed and we shall see what happens in the days ahead. I also mentioned that I needed a ramp and a bathroom remodel to accommodate his needs. I will be meeting with someone on this soon. Probably would have been Tuesday, but started to feel unwell again and fell asleep until now. I have the A/C people on Thursday and will be calling to make another appointment. This heat and humidity has finally gotten to me and I will make sure that I am more than just hydrated, though part of it was a sulfite issue.

I am still doing KP and that’s because I can only work a few hours per day and then spend the afternoon and evening with hubby. His days are long when I do not show. He knew I had a dental appointment and seeing him would be iffy. The dental went great. Another appointment is needed. I do need to have a tooth extracted, but he agreed that the Eustachian tube is the culprit. For now, he will leave that tooth alone until we come up with a plan. His office will contact me when he is ready and we will have a consultation. He doesn’t want to wait on this. Surgery is needed on the Eustachian, however, it is a catch 22 due to my Sulfite allergies.

Glad it’s not too bad.

Oodie on the bathroom re-do some companies can do it within days depending on
what is needed. I hope that is the case with you one and done that’s what you want.

You have a lot going on I think I would be tired too. We just had our A/C whole house
done for routine maintenance we put in a new filter every month. OZ is very humid
and I simply cannot live here without A/C. The weather is getting to be that way every
where. Geez!

Please rest a bit I am doing alright after the two routine vaccines. I just never had a reaction
to anything so first time for everything. Glad it is over. 😎💕

Oodie with the heat being so hot all over I hope your A/C Company can make another
appointment sooner rather than later. I hate to see you cancel the appt. but if you have to
just make sure they re-schedule when it is convenient for you.

Let me know how things goes today. I pray your husband can come home soon.

You are correct, sis leaves on Saturday so I will be running for a few weeks.🏃‍♀️ It is very warm today, in the 90’s, but tomorrow should be cooler for a few days. Maybe storms⛈ tonight/tomorrow which we really need. All that rain we had in May/June with flooding and now nothing. It’s been at least two weeks since the grass was cut.

Hope you’re feeling better each day and your swelling has gone down. Tell hubs he still needs to do the cooking until you are 100%.😄

Oddie I had my two vaccines exactly three days ago almost to the hour.
I did talk to my doctor’s office and what I went through is normal. I was fine
the first day it was Saturday when things changed. I noticed the swelling and
the high temps. Sunday I was still swollen on one arm and I had some sweats so
bad last night my silk gown was soaked. Well today being day three the swelling
is down a great deal and temp is back to normal I think the worst is over. 😎

I don’t know if I will ever do two vaccines at the same time I have to think about
that. Oz is hot today it is good to be back to normal. 💕

Doctor did say I have some allergies in my sinus and she is keeping an eye on it.

How is your husband doing today? I hope you are making progress in moving your
husband if there is an opening to another medical facility until he is able to come
home.

Good morning in S. California. 🎈💕😎I am over the vaccines and feel normal.
What a trip! I woke up soak and wet in my silk night gown. I check myself and the
swelling in my arms are down and no temps. I did call my doctor and everything that
happened to me was the norm. I had the vaccines exactly three days ago.

It’s strange how I did not feel anything on Friday but it struck me on Saturday afternoon
and last night. Oh well moving forward. 😎💕I will say this had I not got those vaccines
the outcome when have been far worse so all good.

Thank you for thinking of my family the grief comes in waves and going back to Colorado
was the best thing I ever did. I used to go like that all the time. 😎🎈💕

I am wishing you a great Monday and I hope you like your new Gym. Be careful when

Shannen Doherty, Heathers and Beverly Hills 90210 star, dies at 53
The actor, also known for roles in Charmed and Little House on the Prairie, has died of cancer.

Shannen Doherty, star of Beverly Hills 90210 and Heathers, has died at the age of 53.

A statement from her publicist Leslie Sloane, cited by People magazine, said: “It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of actress Shannen Doherty. On Saturday, July 13, she lost her battle with cancer after many years of fighting the disease.”

The actor had been first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015 and underwent a mastectomy. In 2020, she said that her diagnosis was then terminal, calling it “a bitter pill to swallow” in a Good Morning America interview.

In June 2023, Doherty shared an Instagram post that revealed news that cancer had spread to her brain alongside a video of her receiving treatment. “My fear is obvious,” she wrote.

Doherty started working at a young age with small-screen roles in Father Murphy and Little House on the Prairie and big-screen roles in The Secret of NIMH and Girls Just Want to Have Fun all before the age of 15.

In 1988, Doherty starred in the dark comedy Heathers alongside Winona Ryder. While it wasn’t a financial success at the time, it since became a cult favourite, widely seen as one of the best high school films ever. She later made a cameo appearance in the pilot of a TV adaptation.

Two years later, Doherty found success as Brenda Walsh in hit teen drama Beverly Hills 90210, which averaged over 21 million viewers by its fourth season. “We get accosted in malls,” said Doherty of the show’s success in 1992. “Basically, it takes over your life.”

Doherty left before season five but later returned for the 2008 reboot and 2019’s meta BH90210, where she played herself.

She also found major success in witchcraft drama Charmed, which she starred in for three seasons. She also directed a number of episodes. Her film roles included Mallrats and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back for the film-maker Kevin Smith.

When Doherty shared her latest update in June 2023, Smith wrote: “You have been such a fearless fighter your whole life, so it’s understandable to be a little scared from time to time. But when those moments pass, let that indomitable Doherty spirit take over anew. I love you so much, my Mallrat.”

Xango remember when I said I had two vaccines at my physical on Friday? Well
yesterday I was down for the count my arm was aching so bad and I had a temp of
101 degrees I felt like Crappola. The heat index in OZ was around 104 degrees and I
was shivering it just came out of no where. I am glad I had the shots in different arms
so I know which shot caused all the fuss. My husband had to put me to bed.

I told him if I felt worst I was going to ER or Urgent Care. I am feeling alright today but
the arm is still sore so I am taking it easy.😎My doctor did tell me this would happen and
if it got real bad to let her know. Well I survived the night so I am good.💕

your husband and I am so glad you are working on getting him home come what may.

I think with the proper help and in-home therapy if just may work.

Very hot all over Oodie my vaccines caused me to be very ill yesterday afternoon.
My husband took my temp and it was 101 degrees my arm was sore and hurting I expected
this I was cold and we were around 104 heat index in OZ. I never felt so bad. I rode it out
and thank goodness for Tylenol. My arm is still swollen and sore but I am up and getting
around. 😎

Oodie let me know if you got your shopping done I know you will miss the nurse who
is leaving. So much stuff is on the news I have not turned on the Telly today.

It’s so sad that Shannon Doherty passed at the age of 53 from breast cancer.
I have been a fan since she started acting and 90210 was my favorite program.
When she got cancer I thought she’d beat it and then it came back. My heart
goes out to her family she fought a tough fight. I know all to well what that is like.
I got my breast cancer a few years after she did. I had mine right smack in the middle
of Covid when everything was shut down and no one could come with you for support.
This was a very lonely time for me but I made it. Shannon and I are from the same
home town. May she RIP.

What a reaction you had. Your doctor warning you was a good start and taking Tylenol also. However, tomorrow I would let her know on the reactions and the pain in your arm even though you are alright today.

I made it to Costco yesterday. I did purchase the purified water and noticed it went up about $.50. Looks like our membership will also go up soon as well. But that is to be expected. l did receive an apology from one of the nurses after I had made a phone call to the Administrator. It is extremely hard to eat in front of hubby who just grabs at the food I bring. I definitely need to make a stop either tomorrow or Tuesday at the Farmer’s Market. I need to replenish my supply of fruits and veggies. By the way, Costco has in their “deli” area, cut up veggies. I decided to try it and used my own salad seasoning. It was delicious and so healthy. No, I didn’t eat the entire container. I will have enough for the next few days. As I walked into the warehouse, I noticed they had towels for $4.99 ea.. At least 4 colors to choose from and I did put two in my carriage in the teal. These towels are huge.

It seems, as I entered the rehab yesterday, some or should I say most of the staff, were happy that the head nurse is now gone. They have no idea who would replace him. I have no idea if they will choose someone within or from the outside. I will miss him but also noticed that there were times when I had to remind him of upcoming appointments or to make one. He also would forget some other things as well, so I had to keep track. Hubby would love nothing better than to go shopping with me. I am looking at transit for the handicapped. That would enable him to go from wheelchair to a battery operated cart. The wheelchair can be folded and put into my car, so there is no problem in that respect. I think the outing will do him more good and give him the lift he so needs. Well, now back to KP.

I would not take Poppy out for his walk today. Think you should let him go to his usual place. Take it easy and give that arm a good rest. Other than that, hope you three have a great day. Enjoy the A/C. Maybe do takeout. 😀🌴🍕🥗🥪🌮🌯🥡🍧🍨🍦🧊🥶

So sorry that you are still not feeling up to par. The meds should help, but your reaction is lasting
too long. Definitely contact your physician and hopefully, you will start feeling better by the end of day. Take care and let Poppy out in the yard. It is too hot to be out and about especially if you are having warnings relating to the heat. I was fully hydrated yesterday and still did not feel right.

over me. My arms are still sore but I feel better. I have never had a reaction like that
in my life. My doctor did say if I had any issues to let her know. I am fine now so that’s

Sheba, Ouch! Well it sounds like the vaccines are doing their job. You will be well protected. I missed my last covid vaccine and never went back for it and ended up with Covid in January. Had my 3rd Bob cat encounter of the year and yesterday joined a local gym. The other place didn’t follow-up with me so I moved on. This last time a hiker and is daughter warned me, but I saw people in the area and on the trail so kept going. It looked like a baby bob cat in a side area off the trail. Poor thing, I think he wanted to get up the trail and was waiting. The Sales Guy at the gym and I chatted quite a bit and he ended up telling me to arm for my hike and believe me no one, including me, would want that. Speaking off, that was when Trump’s Rally and assassination attempt was going on. Sad about the death of an innocent in the stand and the 2 others injured.

I am doing alright today and we have a heat advisory all ready in effect.

Lady I was so sick yesterday late afternoon all of a sudden I was cold and my arms
hurt like heck. I knew it was from the two vaccines I had on Friday. My doctor did say
if I had any problems to let her know. I took some Tylenol and don’t remember a thing.

So much was on the Telly yesterday I had to turn it off. I am snapping out of it.

When I run after what I think I want, my days are a furnace of stress and anxiety; if I sit in my own place of patience, what I need flows to me, and without pain. From this I understand that what I want also wants me, is looking for me and attracting me. There is a great secret here for anyone who can grasp it.

I understand how you feel with the shots.💉 The flu shot always seems to bother me. I am right-handed so I get my shots in my left arm because sometimes it is so sore I can’t lift it. I want to at least be able to comb my hair and brush my teeth.

What a day yesterday. Went out with friends for an early dinner and we came back to the house to talk and relax. Trump’s rally was about 40 minutes from my house so we put the TV on to see how it was going. Big mistake – actually saw it happen live. Just shaking my head. My husband was talking to a friend at the gym this morning and her friend’s neighbor was ten feet away from the person that got killed. So sad.😪

Have no problem celebrating National Mac and Cheese Day, one of my favorite comfort foods.😊 Pretty much anything with cheese on it is my favorite.

meals with your husband. I am not surprised the head nurse is leaving. Hmm…

I agree with you get your husband out of there sooner rather than later. I do not have
a good feeling about this once the head nurse leaves.

I hope this will be a joyful day for you being out and about. Oodie something is not right
about this place I feel it in my bones.

Keep your eyes open and look at everything and everyone who comes in contact with
your husband. I am going to say prayers that you are able to do what you need to do to get
him home.

I haven’t left yet, but will soon. Here is a small update. I did some research and there is another Rehab about 20 miles North of my home. This place is huge, about the size of a hospital, and have many options. One thing they do have is an aquatic pool which I know hubby will enjoy and will give him some relief. I also tried to contact our health insurance and found that the person I need to speak with is off on weekends. Though I have a doctor appointment on Monday, I will try to reach them before or after. Like you, I am hoping the labs are good or wonderful. Yeah, I am livid also. Cried a lot last night and this morning. There is no reason for this outburst. Hubby was fine when I left and the male aid was kind and told me she had no right. I also never thought that hubby would have trouble swallowing. He has had problems with this for years, especially with apples. After Costco, I will have a nice chat with hubby and will stay for awhile. The rehab I mentioned above is one of the ones that came highly recommended by the patients in this rehab. The reason they were here is because this particular one was full. I hope he was able to get in again. The doctors told him the same thing as my hubby, but within three weeks he was on his feet and walking. I do not know if the Head Nurse/Unit Mgr left on his own accord. Right now, he is taking a nice vacation with his wife and three children. I do not think he will have a difficult time in finding a new job with his background.

Well as you know the doctor’s check up went well. All labs are where they should be.
My doctor went over everything and left nothing unturned. I have been with her for
over 25 years. 🎈😘

I am going to treat myself to something. Most of the family is on their way from MN.
The remains of my nephew are there in the family plot. So sad.
