To answer your question. In our area the Dollar Tree is no more $1. The prices went up a quarter and that is why I call it the dollar and a quarter store. New name. New image. But it’s still called the Dollar Tree. Go figure!!!!!!

Well, time to hit the sack again. It’s after 3 am here. Had to use the library and noticed the computer was still on for HSN. Heidi is on this week. I will probably miss part of it since hubby has an appointment around the time she is on. Oh well. I may take a sneak peek prior if I’m not pressed for time.

On Amazon, take a look at the recordings with Ella. Sometimes, towards the bottom of the CD. there is a list of the songs that are played and a way to hear it. You may have to go from one CD to another before encountering the listen area. She was one in a million and so was Louie Armstrong. People don’t sing like that anymore. I would say Sheba had to be quite a singer herself to be with the best of the best. I just wish we could hear her sing. Me, I am great at going off key. LOL

Have a great New Year, May it be healthy and happy. May you find new trails to circumvent.

Sleeping too well. I’m off to the dollar and a quarter store and since the Farmer’s Market is next door will definitely go in and pick up my favorite fist (sea bass) and a few other things as well. I am hoping they have some hot soup ready and since lobster salad is on sale will pick that up also. Tomorrow hair appointment and looking forward to the end of the week with the orthopedist.

Hubby is making strides. I gave him some leg exercises that he can do in his wheelchair and also in bed. Got to get those muscles into working order. Told him to start with small things and then to work through the pain. I think the pain will be less as the muscles relax more. I will write more later. Oh, by the way, the moon was radiant and huge Saturday night. Too foggy last night to see anything. Made it home. Hubby ate up a storm. He loved the bar nuts I brought. Had to take it away so he would leave a few for me. Stay warm. I’m sure you are all sitting by the fire.

I just arrived home. Loads of fireworks en route and now in our backyard which overlooks the lake. Some of these will continue until 3 am or so.

Hubby was hoping to go out for dinner, but I had no way to help him in and out of the car. I checked the en suit bathroom and there is a bell near the throne as well as bars. All are in working order since I did check.

I am getting ready to visit hubby and will stay for awhile. I do not like the idea that when I turn my back, hubby does the unthinkable. But, at the same time, I know the reason behind it and in his own inimitable way he is reaching out for help so he can return home. I just hope and pray that he will now think twice before doing something outrageous. His breathing last night had me scared. And my favorite evening person was there to lend a hand. He will be there today and tomorrow as well. I wish I knew what to give him personally from the both of us.

Again, I wish you all a great New Year. Good Health and good cheer go hand in hand. May tonight bring you special memories and the togetherness you all deserve. Just think, new beginnings, new places, new thoughts and of course new ideas. So much to learn. It is an endless dream. I lift my glass to all of you on this thread and beyond. HAPPY NEW YEAR…..🎄🎁🚗🎆🎇🧨✨❤❤❤

Happy New Year to you and yours. May it be filled with love, good health and loads of laughs. I wish the same to your sister and mom. Hopefully, by the time they are ready for that cruise, the temps will be a bit warmer. Normally, I am home on New Years, but this year I want to be with hubby and that means a drive. I do not want him missing out on anything and therefore will do what I can to make tomorrow a bit brighter. Hopefully, he will be home soon. I should have some news on Friday when we see the orthopedist. Stay warm and have a great evening.

Happy New Year to you and your family. May it be a Healthy one with new discoveries and awesome trails. I am hoping hubby will be home soon. I will know better when we meet with the orthopedist on Friday.

I also enjoy watching Jay King. He makes you feel that you are living in those caves as he looks for the stones that will become our dream pieces. By the way Heidi’s website has 50% off everything. In some cases you need to search for the item or items. Somehow she missed a couple. Anyway, just in case I miss something with Jay, I put a few in my favorites.

There is much to do in Florida. I enjoy it more when there is no heat or humidity and being outside is a pleasure and not a curse. Though it is now cold here during the day and in the evening, it doesn’t last long. Although I do remember one year when we were hit with real cold temps and the iguanas were frozen and falling from trees. Most survived since there were people around who knew what to do.

Happy New Year to you and your family as well. May 2024 bring you and your family good health and may it bring many smiles and laughter.

Under the previous management, there was a way we could e-mail people through an HSN app within Community. It was fun and a good way to meet. As soon as the new owners (actually part of the original) took over it was gone. Over the years quite a bit has changed and not all for the better. Anyway, this market is quite large, but, may be smaller than Publix or Krogers. It seems that with all the new places that this family opens, they are larger than the previous one. I know they want to head North and at this time not sure if it would be St.Pete, Tampa or Northport. I think all 3 would be closer to you. You need to look above you as well. Above and to the sides are handmade drawings. The artistry is amazing. Almost like you are in a barn or a farmhouse. The management and the employees are friendly and helpful. It’s a joy to shop at any of their markets. Checkout takes no time. Oh, forgot to mention that they make their own ice cream and you have a choice of regular or sugar free. And, on the sugar free, there are many varieties. They even have places to sit and to enjoy whatever. The tables are for everyone and so you will be seeing new faces and making new friends. They are closed on Sundays. They are opened on New Year’s Day. By the way, their hours are from 8am-8pm Mon. thru. Sat.. They also have specials they run on Mon. and Tues. or Fri. and Sat.. Love this market and you will also. Cannot wait for you to try them.

It’s getting late and again be safe tomorrow. I will be visiting hubby during the day and will leave early. I hope not to see any driver that is unable to steer correctly. You never know. My cell will be out just in case. Just wish I could be with hubby to bring in the New Year at midnight. We will definitely be looking forward to the day he returns home.

Wishing you and your family (even the furry ones) a Healthy (most important) and a Happy (smiles and laughter great for whatever ails you) New Year. Hope 2024 brings you everything you all desire and then some.

I ordered out again tonight and had it delivered to the Rehab. For the first time I am trying a seafood pizza and a side order of their salad one each. I have to admit this surpassed my expectations. I thought the seafood would just be shrimp. No. It was there but so was calamari, clams and other fish thrown in. I have to say it was delicious. Never tried the salad. I asked for small and I am positive these were large. They make their own salad dressing and it will definitely be good tomorrow. I will be reheating the pizza and will wrap it in aluminum foil to keep it warm. I am sure hubby will like it and if not, back to the frig. Their salad is different. Not just lettuce and tomato, but other things as well.

I waited a good half hour for the delivery. By the time it came I could not find hubby. He was not in his room and it was past the time he would have been in the dining room. I did check the living room/tv area as well. Finally, I had to ask where he was. Well, one of the nurse’s decided to check the bathroom in his room, which is shared with four men. He was sitting on the thrown. How he got to that point is beyond me. This guy cannot stand or walk and the physical therapy unit at the rehab said he had plateaued. Crazy isn’t it. Well, starting Tuesday there will be a lot of arguing on my end to get him help. He could have fallen. What is worse, there is no way for anyone to call for help in that bathroom. That I will certainly take up with the Health Department and our Health Insurance. Tomorrow I will take pictures of that area to prove my point. You know, the hospitals all have ways to contact the nurses as well as bars to help one get to the area they need. When he finally came out, he was huffing and puffing. He was sorry in a sense that he tried this on his own. Thankfully, he seems to be all right. I just hope he will be OK. I didn’t like the way he was breathing. Not like him. Sorry I am venting. I just hope and pray that others are following what is going on here and will take notice. Hopefully, hubby will be home soon. Other than that I am OK.

Before you head this way to visit our new Farmer’s Market, check your route. It used to take me 45 minutes to an hour to drive to Tampa. Now it is a 2 1/2 hour jaunt or better due to construction. Our first stop heading North is usually Georgia. Then that changed to Jacksonville. Now I’m looking at Ocala. When we are able to head North, I may be looking at Tampa. No matter which route we will take, there is construction.

The market is huge. Yes, they have a deli. Yes, there is fresh and frozen fish. Meat market is good. They also have a take out area for hot and cold items. There soups are good, but I have to admit that lately it is more salt than I can handle. They do have great salads in their take out as well as individually *macaroni, cold slaw, egg and potato). The fruit and veggies are good as well. The cut up fruit in a large container is what I often purchase for hubby. He enjoys pulling the cubes out by hand. This market also offers pizza, something the others do not do. As I mentioned before they have the bakery where everything is homemade. This is only about 8 minutes from our home.

Well, I am now getting ready for a stop at Costco. I just need a couple of items, but I’m sure I’ll find other things that hubby and I may like that are not on the list. It always happens. Let me know when you are down this way. I will let you know when I am going to Brandon for the Asian market which I sorely miss.

    @sheba2011

So sorry about tonight. I thought I would be home to either join you in Trivia or to say goodnight. But there were other forces playing. Thursday, when I visited hubby, I noticed his Sherpa blanket was not on the bed. I asked him if he knew where it was. He had no idea. His roommate said ditto.

The head nurse had left early, so decided to wait until today. Thankfully he was in and he had no idea where it could be. Unfortunately, I had not used a name tag thinking I would wash it at home. Also the Id things are in the van and as you know that vehicle is in a dealership and I do not have access to anything and that also includes water. As I was about to go out the door to the car, the head nurse took me aside and we went looking together. He brought me to the laundry room and we poured over some items and then on the bottom shelf, it was there, neatly folded. I forgot to mention that hubby is in love with this blanket and he asked for it. Now, there is one more thing missing. Saturday night I fell asleep in the chair and a nurse really had to work hard to awaken me. The time was 11 pm. I had the Kindle Paperwhite with me and was in a deep fog when awakened. I had looked at the wheelchair and thought it was odd that there was one that looked exactly like mine. I thought it belonged to one of the nurses, so I left it in the wheelchair. Anyway, it’s gone. There is a possibility that it could be somewhere near the front door. Though I have looked in that area, it could be under something. Lastly, on the way home there were police cars all over an area so I had to find an alternative route. So far I have no idea if there was an accident or something else occurred. Maybe it was just as well that I left the rehab later. That’s it for now. I’m going to bed.

I am dressed in layers. Sweatshirt and jacket are on hubby’s wheelchair. Temps will be in the mid 50s when I leave.

I was at the opening. The market is huge. So much to look at. I think you may like this market. As you know it is owned by an Amish family. They do carry the milk you asked for. There food and soups are all homemade. No preservatives. However, our van was hit by someone while I shopped. Found out when my neighbor noticed the front fender was coming off on the passenger side. I took out what I could before Triple arrived. They towed it to a dealership close by. Car insurance should cover.

Sorry about your loss. Seems the holidays are the most trying times.

I know how you felt about the mattress with out the box spring. I felt the same way. However I needed to go lower for hubby. I purchased a new one with box spring and my back thanks me every morning. Well back to Trivia I will be heading home soon.
