Had computer problems last night. I surmise that our cable will soon be down a few days. Men are working nightly on the telephone poles and cable hook up. All clocks needed to be updated.
Hubby was in bed when I arrived last night. I had stopped at the Farmers Market and picked up a few things. One of those things was strawberries. I think they call the almost white strawberries candy in our area. They were $3 for 5. The other strawberries were $3.99 for a pint. Since they are just starting to ripen, I will wait a week to see if the price goes down. I have to admit that they were so red and looked so tasty. So delicious in fact, that I just wanted to taste one. But, calling the EMTs put a NO NO mark on them. Plant City has their annual strawberry festival beginning tomorrow. It’s about an hour and a half from me, but with traffic due to construction, it’s over two hours. So, I will stay home and stop to savor other things. I think xango is no more than a half hour away.
I left hubby around 9 pm and worked on our desk. Things are piled high on both sides and it really needed a thorough cleaning. What a task!!!! Accomplished one side of the desk and put everything where it belonged. Today I will tackle the other side.
By the way, if your son is driving, he should check on road construction. The one thing I detest is to stay in the same place for more than 10 minutes. I found Sunday to be the better choice. At this point I am not sure if I will be heading North anytime soon. I am concerned with the trip , which under normal circumstances, would take three or four days. However, with me behind the wheel, I am looking between 4 and 7 days. That’s number one. Number 2 would be getting hubby to the handicapped area for the restrooms. He is still unable to stand on one leg, so not sure how that would work out. The 3rd question would be the hotel rooms. I mentioned to hubby that he would need to be a little more self sufficient since I will not be able to lift. I know in our own home he will be OK. Just not sure on the how too on the way North.

Good Afternoon. My day is just starting even though I had garbage duty earlier and also picked up the mail which is at least a mile from our home. Now getting ready to fill the tank at Costco. Hubby is on a more or less pureed diet and thus no hot dog today. I was yelled at by a nurse on Sunday for ordering a grinder for hubby. Funny, they yell at the food I bring, but Physical Therapy, not going forward???? Anyway, hubby enjoyed the grinder and yesterday I brought him frozen custard from Culvers. I decided to try the mint special of the day and so glad I did. Hubby said it was the best he ever tasted. Speaking of ice cream, HSN has a duo of a freezer and frig for the car or van or a truck. We currently have a Coleman Frig which we have used for the last ten or more years. Comes in handy when visiting our favorite market. However, to keep something like ice cream from melting, we put it on the bottom with other frozen items. No need for ice either. But a duo is something I have been considering for a while. It is also good to have on our trips North and the return. I love that it has a handle. I’ve been putting our frig on our DBest Trolley.
Hope you all have a great day enjoying the “heat wave.” We are in the mid 70s today and next week we will see the 80s. Night temps will be in the 50s. Great spring like temps that are horrible for the sinuses. Oh well, win some, lose some.
Wish your son a Happy Birthday from the two of us. The years go by too fast. At the same time I hope he has a safe return.

I hope this answers your question on amber. Most often, amber is pressed with three or more pieces to make it more brilliant. This does not make it worthless because it is all amber. It does not make it less valuable. Most often it makes it more expensive. So, I if there is a piece that hits your heart go for it. Too many times i have !oved something and by the time I went to purchase it had sold out.

Om…now I know what to put at the foot of the bed….love the headboard!!!!!!!😀😎
Why didn’t I think of this?????? -
Left later than I wanted to yesterday to see hubby. When I arrived, found him sitting up in bed with feet dangling over the sides. He was happy and joking. I am now hoping that the Physical Therapy people are helping him to return home. I have asked that they teach him to use his hands to move from the wheelchair or a chair to bed or to a commode, etc. . Hubby is more concerned with my back and legs than he is with himself. But, the Tylenol or Excedrin really helps with the arthritis.
Yesterday, I also made another dent in the kitchen . Things are coning together. A bit slow, but at least there is progress. Today I am doing laundry and I just unloaded silverware from the dishwasher. Most were clean. A few will need to be redone because of spotting. I probably will need a new dishwasher, but will hold out for now. I just do not want the added expense if one is not needed at this time. The microwave came out looking like brand new from top to bottom, inside and out. So pleased with Clean Boss, though there was some fog on the window exterior and thus used a glass cleaner over this and it is spotless. At the same time I am making donations and thus getting rid of things I no longer use or haven’t used within 6 mos. to a year. Also finding that I have too many lids and thus will see what fits and doesn’t. I am also doing this for the pots and pans. I am hoping that Wolfgang will be returning to HSN with his stainless steel pans. I sort of have my doubts on this one, since there is no return date for him in the near or distant future. I am finding that his utensils and stainless are far superior to anything I own.
I am now waiting for the clothes in the dryer to be done and then I am off to the Farmer’s Market. Hubby asked for an Italian grinder and I will pick up a tuna salad for me. Their tuna salad is very similar to my recipe. I will be picking up ice custard from Culvers. Would get it from Costco, but they do not have the covers that prevent spilling. Costco has covers, but they have a hole in the middle. Will fill up at the gas pump on my way to rehab. Both Sam’s and Costco have the same price. This you do not see that often.
Hope you four have a beautiful Saturday. Temps are in the low 70s as I type with beautiful sunshine. However there are some pretty gusts out there. Not a good day for the beach. Been advised of rip currents, though I will not venture near the water until my buddy is home. Stay well. Stay safe. That’s for all.

@sheba2011
😀😀 I’m laughing at your high temps for today. It’s the same here in Florida. Tomorrow we will see the 70s. Well, maybe. Our temps this evening will be in the low to mid 40s. House is warm, so I’m OK.I decided to continue working in the kitchen instead of the lanai. Still too cool to spend anytime there. Besides, I need to use the hose and with the temps in the low 60s, not a good idea.
I didn’t see hubby today. Instead I made another dent in the kitchen and rested when needed. It was a relaxing day. Somewhat……

I have been getting home too late to post. And, yes, I am resting. It is now after 4 pm and I will be hopping into a shower soon and will take off to be with hubby. Today, I will be bringing potato soup. The huge Thermos I ordered finally was delivered today along with the new patio dining table in sky blue. Tomorrow’s temps will be in the 70s so will work on putting that table together and remove all furniture and things from the lanai (including the rugs) so I can sweep and wash the floor from all the mud and dirt. At least now I can have one room totally done within a day or two.
Hubby is doing good. However, the new radio does have some problems and I will try other outlets to see if that helps in hearing a few FM stations. AM is good and thankfully, hubby enjoys the talk and the banter. At least we have some fun debates that are not one sided. Due to our weather over the weekend, he was in tons of pain on Sunday and kept refusing the meds. I completely understood because the lower back and left leg from the thigh down was giving me a headache. Though the pain was dull, the fact that it kept on going, made it unbearable. Aspirin hit it.
I did a recheck on the mileage to and from the rehab. I thought it was 8 + miles. It is actually 5.5 miles from door to door. But, it does feel like 20+ when you miss the 8 lights. One in particular will stay red over 5 minutes.
Hope you 4 enjoy the rest of the afternoon. Have a great evening as well. The days are getting longer. We had sunlight until 6:45 pm yesterday. I think when we push ahead an hour, Florida will be keeping that time permanent. I do like the extra hour. Seems I get more done. Oh well. I am almost positive that the kids won’t enjoy getting up in darkness and racing to the schoolbus while it is dark outside. And speaking of that. Many ride their bikes to school in dark clothing. No orange vests or bike lights. One really needs to observe the speed limit and even then you need the brights to be sure.

I do not think I could watch the news after such an event. I also honestly think that guns should not be given to youngsters or teenagers. Cal l me old fashion, but, teenagers do have problems processing the results of their actions whether it is because it is a group thong or what they have seen older people do or a televised program where guns are used. These young kids and possibly, their parents, will need to attest what they have committed. All their dreams and maybe some aspirations have been lost to a wrong decision that not only affected them but others who were just having a good time. A beautiful day is now lost in the shadows……So sad.
Well, I did see hubby tonight. The temperature outside was in the low 70s, but inside the rehab it A/C was on and it felt like winter. Hubby was curled under a sheet and two summer blankets. I removed everything including the two pillows so hubby could move up a bit. His feet were near or on the foot board. He was shivering and making him move a bit would enable me to fix the sheets and put the blankets on him. Yes, he got his pillow back. I also had a Sherpa blanket there and folded it over to give him extra comfort. I actually wished that there would be enough room for the two of us on that bed. It was freezing. I guess keeping the temps low reduces the chance of viruses. I don’t know. Whatever. However, one thing I did notice was that the real bad leg was moveable. That leg was not bent to the side, but was straight out. Will he be able to use it????? I don’t know. All I can say is that he was moving that leg as if it was OK. I have tons of rethinking to do.
Another thing I happened to see on the news on line was something new on knee surgery. Seems that some part of the surgery can be done as an out patient. Best of all, it is non-evasive. Not sure if this will help hubby. But you betcha I will be watching. This is adding the cartilage that was lost due to falls and arthritis.
Hope you four have another wonderful evening. and a better tomorrow. Good night. Stay safe.

This, too, shall pass. But it will take time. The memory, though, will always be there. But it will be easier to bear.
I had purchased two radios from HSN, but didn’t feel comfortable leaving them at night. This one I was able to write his name on and it was inexpensive for a Panasonic. Like your dad, he loves and craves music. Best gift ever. Best of all, it will keep his mind active.🎵🎶🎶🎺🎷🎹
The A/c is working. What you probably don’t know is that it also gives us heat when the weather turns cold. Thank goodness for winter clothes and pjs.😀😀🏝🏝 (LOL)
Enjoy your day and having your son around and also having a job he loves and that it enables him to work from home. Enjoy your day sand your walk with Poppy. The moon was gorgeous last night. Had to blink twice. It was bathed in yellow at 11 PM when I left the Rehab.

I had to get up early this morning due to a sick A/C . Seems it was making a clunking noise and one of our neighbors shut it down from the outside thinking it could start a fire. The Technician arrived very early and stayed two hours looking for the reason. He could not find one, and left. This is a new company for us. After no duct work due to water under our homed for over 6 months, decided it was time for someone who knew what they were doing. The company I chose did our electrical panel and other repairs as well. High quality workmanship besides having the best customer service.
I arrived home just about an hour ago after visiting hubby. The first thing I did was make a bowl of soup and then I sat at the computer reading the news. I wanted to see the parade. It was so much fun. But then as I went from one place to another I had to stop and listen to the police report. I was astonished that someone would take a lovely day and turn it into a fiasco. Of course the first thing I I thought of was your husband and son. Thank goodness you answered xango that everything was all right. To turn something that was so delightful into a living h-ll is beyond words. Guess you cannot go anywhere anymore without watching your back, etc..
Hubby was wonderful tonight. I purchased a Panasonic AM/FM radio and gave it to him over the weekend. When I arrived, he was pretending to be Leonard Bernstein as he conducted the orchestra. I think this will help him and will also keep his mind going. I noticed for the first time in months that he was able to cross his legs left over right and do a reverse.
Stay safe.

I see you are on line and will write as fast as I can. Hubby was in great spirits yesterday. It was past noon when I arrived and he was in the dining room. Took a double take as I was really early. His smile said it all. I am in the midst of pricing our van for a ramp and wheelchair so we can experience riding around. The price I was given for the changeover is in the 10K area and I wish I could get itt lower. Seems there is only one company for the entire State that does this and I feel they are taking advantage of people who are in a difficult position as it is. I was hoping to meet with the Head Nurse yesterday on this subject and other things, but he was already tied up. Will be calling him shortly. Hubby may never walk, however, he has two good hands which could help him maneuver from bed to wheelchair or from bed to the chair lift seat. He is dead weight right now and two aids need to move him. On a good note, I did meet with the Speech Therapist and discovered he will be starting solid foods this weekend. His food has been pureed because of the coughing fit caused by apples that I had cut into small bite sized pieces and skinned. Hubby has a habit of grabbing too much and trying to swallow whole pieces like he used to. I ordered a Hawaiian pizza for dinner and a small salad. He ate the pizza after finishing his huge plate of minced/pureed food. It was a good evening. Me, too tired to fiddle with the computer and slept until 10am.
Hope you three have a great day. Hope your son was able to purchase the gifts for his sisters. Nice to see that your family is very close.

Great day on all fronts. Lab reports were thru the roof. Have been with hubby since noon. Will write more when home.
