Looks like summer will be hanging around for awhile. From what I read, we may be skipping Indian Summer.
Water is on and seems to be flowing nicely. However, we have been told not to use it for cleaning dishes and pots and pans. We need to wait for the tests to come back that we are bacteria free. I surmise this is because of Covid and other viruses. Better to be safe.
Had the hair appointment today. Felt so good to have someone pamper me for a change. Following I went next door to an Asian takeout. This was the first time I tried this restaurant. Must admit it was absolutely delicious. I had enough for two meals (lunch and dinner). It will be my new go to place.
I arrived at the Rehab around 12:30 pm. Decided not to return home, so went direct following the purchase of the Asian food. I was home by 8:30 pm.. The aide is back, and yes, he was sick the entire time. He was out a month. He now has the weekend off. Will return Monday and Tudsday next week. Hubby has a new roommate and is quite nice. The other roommate was rushed to the hospital three weeks ago and from what I’ve been told he is still a patient. He had trouble breathing. Not sure what he had. I do know that he was trying for an admission at the VA Hospital. Hopefully, he is there. Seems no one gives an update to the staff.
I had plans to work on the Linen closet, but will forego it. Tomorrow is soon enough. Have a great Labor Day weekend. I am watching the tropics again. Stay safe.

Water finally came on around 4pm. Couldn’t wait to take a shower. Been with hubby since 6:30pm. Been asked by the HOA to boil water until the results show no bacteria for 48 hours. No washind, no doing dishes or pots &pans and absolutely no. Cleaning until we are ok. Geez… At least water is flowing.

It’s almost 3 pm. No water. Free lunch today. However, it is not sulfite free. I’m trying to be patient. Miss being with hubby.

Your hubby may have found an interesting area to explore at the train stop. Could be a hiking area or even a restaurant caught his eye. I love that you are traveling again. This time be prepared and add some masks to your carry-on. You should wear one while in flight since the same air will circulate while flying. Not sure if you will need it for the train, but you never know. I figure you will be on your way within a few weeks. Enjoy….Stay safe……. 😀😀🎫🕶🚕🚋🚃🚆🚕

I think you were scheduled for a procedure this month and I hope and pray that all went well. You also, if I remember correctly, have an anniversary in September. Here’s hoping you can kick up those heels and have a great time. Take care. Stay safe.

It’s after 7 pm and no water. At 3 pm or so we had a thunderstorm that lasted over an hour. Another one ended just a few minutes ago. Another one will be here in an hour. I assume we will have water sometime tomorrow. I cannot wait to clean the two bathrooms. Cannot wait to see hubby. One good news is that the Aid returned today and is on hubby’s floor. At least I know he will be well taken care of. He has been informed of the continuous saga. At least I am comfy. Started a book last night and it’s almost done.

Hi. It’s in the 90s here with 100% humidity. I have the A/C set at 81, and I will change it if it gets to be unbearable. Thunderstorms are expected this afternoon.
As I type, we are still without water. The President of our HOA was able to secure free gallons of water bottles, 2 per household. I have bottled water for drinking and that’s no problem…..YET. I have kept the Rehab up-to-date on this ongoing saga. The gallon jugs have come in handy. I am now able to fill two bowls of water which I use for washing hands and face and the other for brushing teeth. I had a hair appointment scheduled today and I sent a voice mail and e-mail to the salon and received a phone call that I could have Friday at the same time as today. So happened that the person scheduled for Friday wanted something sooner. It all worked out .
I received Wolfgang Puck’s TS yesterday. I haven’t opened the box as yet since I need to really clean the drawer above where the pots and pans go. That section will be a “catch 22” until the water is restored. Due to the mice/rat situation, I didn’t think twice about discarding pots and pans. A few did look to be in good condition, but I didn’t want to take the chance. Everything else went into the dishwasher for sanitizing. This may be a good day to start on the pantry. I do mask up when cleaning. For dinner tonight, I’m thinking of the Farmer’s Market. Tons of choices to take out and the prices are reasonable. They even started having pizza to go. The pizza is small, but is good for one person and will last a few days. But their Cobb salad is oh soooo good. I’m actually toying with that or a sandwich with a small salad. Cannot even think of making a salad here, since I wash everything thoroughly. I also have Dragon Fruit which I will cut up and add to the salad. Hopefully, we will have water soon. Miss being with hubby, but also thankful that he isn’t here while going through this. The first thing I will do is to clean the two bathrooms. One immediately and the other when I return if I am able to visit hubby.

I also remember the many postings from Cherie and the other person from West Palm area. I sometimes wondered what happened to both and also to Posh. The last we heard from the bichon’s was when they were caring for a friend that had been diagnosed with cancer. Then they seemed to disappear. I just hope they are both OK. Posh was interesting and with her husband working on Broadway, things became real tough during the epidemic crisis. I hope she will return someday but in Community people come and go all the time. Another person I haven’t seen in a while is Nadia (I think that’s her name). She was from the Catskills, an area that hubby and I frequented from time to time. Beautiful mountains and gorgeous scenery. One of the most beautiful drives. This is one reason why we do not take the I-95 corridor.

Still no water and it is approaching 4 pm. . When I arrived home last night, the first thing I did was check the faucets. It was 9:30 pm. No water. Checked e-mail and found a note that the water would be on for about an hour and I surmised I missed it. Then read further and discovered that leaving the water on would not help the situation so they kept it off. So disheartening. I have not been able to do a thing. At the moment I am contemplating a hotel room which means I will need to go about 50 miles from here. Being local, hotels/motels will not give you a room unless you are an out of towner or a hurricane is approaching. Not sure yet what I will do. I assume the people who are working on this will call it a day between 4:30 pm and 5 pm. Thank goodness for bottled water.
What I didn’t mention was that around 6 pm last night we were hit what started as torrential rain that became a giant thunderstorm. The last time I saw this occur was when we were hit with the rain from Ernesto. This lasted a good 45 minutes or so. Going home around 9 pm it was raining again. My car was parked against a curb since everything else was full. Just as I was leaving the alarms went off. The door to hubby’s room was closed. The bell on the wall showed red. I assumed it was a fire drill. I went out to the hallway and found all access doors were closed and the firemen were now entering the building. I headed to the ladies room and by the time I came out everything was back to normal. I left shortly after. I assume it was not a drill. Going home was a different story. There was a lot of water on the roads. No problem. I was able to circumvent the areas without difficulty and arrived home OK. As far as today goes, not sure if I will be seeing hubby. The last note I received is that the worker’s will not be returning home until the water is on. I will definitely find a hotel on the other side of Tampa if need be. I will update when there is something to say. I am absolutely livid……..

Just arrived home and the first thing I did was turn the water on. Nothing happened. Checked the e-mail and there is quite a bit to be done. Leaving the water on overnight would cause more damage. I hope this is all repaired by tomorrow.
Hubby was very itchy. I have started to bring his clothes home to wash and dry. He may be allergic to the soap powder or liquid. He was wearing dungarees and he was not scratching in that area, but chest and back were terrible. Funny, the shirt he was wearing was washed in the rehab, but the shirt he had over the T was recently done by me. I have some laundry here that I put together this evening. Guess I will not be doing laundry for the next few days. This should be the worse of all problems……..I hope so.
Your jacket/swing coat and my rainbow all within a 24 hour period, AWESOME. That rainbow came out of nowhere. Clear skies ahead, on both sides and even the back showed no dark clouds. That rainbow was gorgeous and I was so thankful. Someone was looking out for us. Could have been our dads. I did thank whomever and let them know that I was happy to see something so out of the ordinary.
Have a great evening. Guess I will go to bed early. good night.

That was quite an incident on Friday. Thank goodness for Iris and her coat and you and your neighbor are ok. I am with hubby. Finally made out to Rehab. However, the water is turned off and has been that way since 9 am. I had an alarm set and was able to shower and wash the head. It felt so good.
Hubby looks good. He has tons of cards in email as well as your posts. I brought him red grapes, chocolate cake, strawberry cheesecake, homemade sausage from the Farmer’s Market etc..I will probably get yelled at, but his birthday only comes once per year. The sausage will be cut thin and given in small pieces. I will freeze whatever is left.
I will write.more later.

Never had a chance to see hubby on his birthday. The water did not return before 6:15pm. Just enough time to contact the Rehab to say I will make up for today by going early tonorrow. I’m up late since I could not get anything done in the house until the water returned. I hope they are done. I have a feeling there will be another shutoff. Will keep everyone posted.

This is ps. left another note after I returned home from rehab last night.
