I wouldn’t feel sorry for Sara Davies. Her company is worth at least £35 million, and she’s got other investments. I don’t think some of the others are hurting too badly, either. HSN are hypocrites, saying one thing and doing another. They lost me in March, I haven’t watched or bought from them since, on!y switched on to see if they had $5 shipping and back off again. I can !ive without them very nicely. They bore me stiff, and I’m really tired of the same old endless sales pitches and hard sell and the presenters that drone on about nothing and won’t let the guests get a word in edgeways. I haven’t missed them at all. In fact, I’m glad to see the back of them.

I don’t think hsn’s prices are good at all. I can almost always do better by buying from the company whose product it is or almost anywhere else on the item price alone, and for sure better because of not having to pay shipping and sometimes no tax. All the ones I like have websites. Amazon, as much as I hate them, have usually got better prices on machines than hsn. Even as a platinum member of crafter’s companion, unless they’ve got a great sale, craftstash have got better prices. I don’t have a machine like a cricut or silhouette so I don’t know about them, but I think they may cut fabric. I have an ebosser, which is a large platform electronic die cutting and embossing machine which I’ve had for over 7 years, and would probably buy again if I could get one and needed one because it does the same things as a gemini machine (but the gemini I think has more pressure). In addition, it takes thicker dies like sizzix bigz. I haven’t really tried cutting fabric with it, but I have some dies that do that. They are multi media dies that are a bit thicker than thin metal dies but are still thin metal dies. I think ordinary thin metal dies are usually supposed to cut through thin fabric. The gemini may do a better job of cutting fabric than my ebosser because of thr pressure, but I don’t know that for a fact. I use all of my dies for papercrafting. I would definitely go online and do some searches and find out about what machines do what and see who has got the best prices and what their return policy is. The last place I would buy a machine of any kind is hsn. If something goes wrong with it after the money back period, they won’t do anything about it from what I’ve read.
