Question: Wide vs Medium shoes
I ordered a pair of Clarks that are too tight. I was planning to exchange for the next size up, but am thinking maybe I should go for the same size in Wide because the length seems okay. I’ve never had Wide before. Is there much of a difference?

There is a difference in medium and wide. I go for the wide, because I have a wide foot and mediums do not always fit me. However, I have gotten used to the wide because sometimes I like to wear socks. I am normally a 6 1/2 wide. I would never order a 7 wide. That would be too big.

Yeah I have the box ready to return and I think I’ll open it back up and recheck the length. If it’s okay I think I’ll just go for the same size in Wide. I’m probably overthinking it, and may not get anything in exchange anyway because larger sizes are sold out. Or maybe I’ll get someone else’s return. ☹️ Thanks for replying.

I used to have problems with the shoes on HSN. I found going up in width did work. However, on open toed shoes I find I need to go up a half size. For some reason,l the shoes are made differently from the ones I purchased in shoe stores or at other retail places. Then, again, it also depends upon the manufacturer. I certainly would give it a try, especially with the free exchanges.

Thanks. Before I ordered, I even went to a local store and tried on some similar styles in Clarks so I thought I knew what I’d be getting. So instead of 7M, maybe I’ll try 7.5W? These were TSV sandals on QVC and hundreds of reviewers agree that these are crazy narrow.
