Never a Shoe Girl
I have never been a shoe girl. When I was a young girl I was embarrassed by my big feet and wanted to hide them as much as possible. Now in my old age when I have bigger problem feet, guess what? I love shoes. Most of the time they don’t love me. Bear in mind, I haven’t paid much attention to shoes in the past so don’t think I too badly of me with this question. I just saw some ankle booties that I love. Do people wear these during the spring and summer? I live in hot humid Texas so the weather here isn’t cool. The shoes I am looking at are Vince Camuto 717883.

@tillyboy I really like the new “whatever you like” times we are living in. There were so many rules that I always thought were silly . I have worn very few boots in my lifetime because I thought they showed how big my feet are. Now I see lots of women with big feet, too (thank goodness!) I have lots of problems with my feet but I am hoping this ankle boot is comfortable. Thanks for your answer.

Pamlou, I am in Florida where the temps do fluctuate between 75-85 with humidity. Consequently, I do not wear a leather shoe because my feet tend to sweat. Therefore, I go for a material that is breathable and looks great for spring, summer and fall and of course is comfortable. I also love sandals and do not like a higher heel because I would have problems keeping them on. Nor do I want a flat, but something in between. Perfect.

@oodiebom, I never even thought of that. I seem to have lived my life in flip flops and sneakers. I really love the beautiful flip flops that have come out and have a closet full of them. Most of my new shoes I have bought this week are leather so I will have to see if that was a mistake.

H Pamlou! I have the reverse problem! I loved shoes when I was (much) younger. But, thanks to some surgeries and difficulties walking, I’m pretty much over the high heels, fancy sandals and all the shoes I was once able to wear. To be honest, this seems to be a “what ever you like” time in fashion and shoes now. Those Camuto booties are nice. I have seen cut out versions very similar to that style, but they would be cooler to wear in the warmer months. Happy Shoe Shopping!
