MUK LUKS® Sharon Boots (COULD CAUSE CANCER: READ LABEL)
I was stunned when I read the label on these gorgeous boots. I was ready to order them until I read the label. MUK LUKS Women’s Sharon Boots
123-1049 “This product can expose you to chemicals which are known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information go to http://www.P65Warnings.ca.gov”

Good Morning,
I have compared several vendor websites (HSN, KOHLS, Amazon) on Muk Luks in regards to the warning statement. I looked up the Sharon boot and the Belinda slipper.
No two vendors are consistent with the warning. Some have the warning posted and some do not have it listed.
I contacted MuK Lucks. The lady that answered the phone stated the warning label is only for hard sole boots. When I explained to her that their vendors are NOT consistent with posting the warning, she stated that they are unaware of this, and they will be addressing it with their vendors.
If you would like to contact them, their phone number is 414-238-2641.
Be Safe.

It reminds me of the label on some of the ninja blenders that they had a poison substance in them (I think it was arsenic). Who in there right mind makes a food processor with poison? I guess it prevents them from being sued if it kills a family member-children & seniors would be most susceptible because they did warn you.
-
Call the company and find out what warrants the warning label. Most of the time it is lead. it could be that the zippers, studs, buckles, etc are not lead free. This is often the case with handbags and luggage, and yes, even jewelry still.

I want to thank you for bringing this to our attention!
Ironically, my 11 year old Maltese just passed away 2 hours ago because of cancer.
Don’t think this will hurt? Please think again! The feet have many nerve endings that lead to every system and organ in your body!

The house is strangely quite. I had no idea how much noise he made! I have had him since he fit in the palm of my hand. So, there are many good memories. 🌹
I want to thank you for your kindness. 💖You are a very kind, beautiful, and thoughtful lady. Blessings in Abundance. 💓

Skittles,
My little Sheltie is going to “rest” by the end of next week. My best friend is her Dr. She will be coming to the house. I’ve been through this before (long ago). Dear Heart, it truly is a pain that cuts deep. When the decision was made that it was “time”…I could not stop weeping for what is going to take place. The one thing we have to hold onto are the years of memories. Yet, grief is a process. It’s not as if we reach that destination at some “appointed time”. Every one is different. Skittles, this is something you’re walking though today. Me; it won’t be until the end of next week. My heart aches so badly thinking about it there are times I can barely breathe. I just wish I lived near my family.
More than anything, I wish I could give you a hug…or just weep together. The way you spoke about your beloved Maltese, it’s evident you’re an awesome “Dog Mommy”. There is healing in tears. Even clouds rain when they become heavy. Please, know that I, truly, do understand.
Kindest Regards

I am so sorry that you are going through this with your fur baby! It just does not seem fair that their lives are so short.
I feel like my baby took my heart with him and just left me a small piece of it for ticking purposes. I was in my computer room yesterday and heard the trash truck. I thought, “he will start barking soon.” Nope. He is gone to join my other Maltese.
We have an outlet mall about 90 minutes from the house. I used to take him with me shopping in his puppy stroller to this mall. I am sooooo missing that right about now!
Yes, my fur kids are spoiled is what I am told. I doubt it. They are simply accustomed to a different lifestyle. 😉
I wish I could also give you a hug. Please keep us updated. I have sent prayers your way. I will continue to keep you and your baby in my prayers.
Blessings in Abundance, Beautiful. 🙂

I am very sorry for your loss. I know you loved your Sheltie. I lost my Little Sheba
and the hurt is still there.Your fur baby is not in pain anymore just like mine. I wish you well and hope words
of comfort will help you. Sending hugs from OZ.Come With Me
–AnonymousGod saw he was getting tired
And a cure was not to be.
So he put his arms around him
And whispered, “Come with me.”With tearful eyes we watched him suffer
And saw him fade away.
Although we loved him dearly,
We could not make him stay.A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best. -
My heart is heavy for you both. Been there, done that too many times. The last time I said no more dogs, I can’t keep doing this. Well, I am now mom to Jake because I just can’t resist their love. Grieve and give yourself time to remember. My favorite saying is “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.” I will be praying for you both and your babies.💕💕
-
Thank you so much for your kindness and prayers.
You don’t know me, so it tells me you are angel from heaven.

So sorry about your baby. I cry as I type this message. 😭😭😭
I wish I could take your pain away. 😭
Sending Prayers your way. ♥️🙏♥️

I sent the above message with my phone. On my phone, it shows a face with tears. On my laptop, it shows a face with teeth.
On my phone, I sent hearts and praying hands. On my laptop, it shows a person with praying hands.
I had no idea that the translation could be so different from one system to another system.

@Skittle135,
I am just now reading this. I am so sorry for your loss. As you know I am dealing with
several family members with cancer. My daughter just lost her beloved dog to cancer. Please be well and you will see your precious fur baby one day.
Blessings and this too shall pass.

Hello Beautiful,
I am so sorry about your family’s health issues and the loss of the fur baby. I was aware of your family having medical issues but not about the fur baby passing. I posted twice on your prayer thread that I was sending prayers. Did you see it? I will continue to pray for them.
My visits to HSN are infrequent. A lot of the my favorite vendors are gone, and the attitude is haughty. Consequently, I have expanded my shopping adventures. My return lately was due to Joan Boyce’s departure. I bought several of her pieces because I am not sure if I will be able to purchase her items again.
Stay Strong. Stay Encouraged and nourish Faith.
Blessings in Abundance. 🙂

Thank you for your posts on the Prayer Thread I am going to bring it up again.
A lot going on in the Community. I am so sorry for your loss please be well.

Lady4Peace,
Thank you for posting this. Cancer runs very highly in my family and post like this are very much appreciated. If my memory serves, a while back, I read a post from you (if it was not you, my apologies) about a warning like that on Curtis Stone set of pans that you bought and the warning note was packaged with the pans. I bought the same set of 2 fry pans and the warning was not included on mine as I do not live in CA, however, I returned them to HSN after reading your post. One can never be too careful, That is a good thing the warning is listed on HSN for these boots but I do not think it was for that particular Curtis Stone set of frying pans on the HSN website.
I understand the State of California has a lot of these warnings that must be disclosed to their residents, not sure why all the other States are not taking the same steps.
Best, -
I wonder if this true of all Muck Lucks?
I just bought some ML slippers. They should arrive today.
-
Hi skittles, Did you receive your Muk Luk slippers?
The ones I received yesterday are the Chenille Scuffs Ashore.
I plan to return as looks like one of them has what looks like a defect. Also size does not seem right on the Med. I wear a size 8. Have many slippers that are med-7-8 and have ample room in them even with wearing sox.
Would love to hear from you about your experience
Have a Wonderful Thanksgiving.

I returned the slippers today to Kohls. I did not even bother to try them on to see how they fit.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and Blessings in Abundance.

Hi skittle, I too ordered a pair of the Muk lukks. Wondering if the cancer label mentioned applies to these slippers as well.
I am a Breast Cancer survivor, and very concerned.
My slippers are on the way.
I ordered the clog ones on sale for $19.99.
Don’t have the item # handy now.
Please if you or anyone else has additional info on the slippers? Please rep[y.

Mux Luxs claims the warning only applies to their hard sole boots. If you would like to contact them, their phone number is 414-238-2641.
Personally, I am taking my Belinda Slippers back to Kohls.
Several years ago, I also had cancer, and it is never to return again.
Stay Strong and Be Safe.

Hi skittles, thanks for the reply.
Thanks so much for the heads up phone #.I did not receive my slipper yet. They should arrive in a day or so.
Am so Leary now about keeping them.
Really shocked to hear of chemicals in boots &Belinda slippers?.
Wondering if the chenille clog Muk L.uk that that I had ordered have the chemicals that was mentioned?
Sorry I forgot did you order the one’s I am expecting?
Please let me know?
Thanks in advance.
Take care

I ordered and have received the Belinda slippers. The color is waaayyy darker than the pictures shown online on HSN and Kohls. There is NO warning label on the Belinda slippers. .
The representative at Muk Lucks stated that the chemical(s) are only applied to their hard sole boots. I wanted to ask her manufacturing questions, but I doubt she can answer them. These slippers were imported. Other countries are more lenient than the US with chemical use and processes of manufacturing. I am not saying the US does not use chemicals because they do all day long, but we have more checks/accountability in manufacturing.
I was a buyer/planner for 13 years. So, my manufacturing experience tells me take them back.

I read the descriptions on a few other of the Muk Luk brand & they did not contain the same warning. There are 2 brands of handbags (not sold on HSN) that carry the same warning. Reading the labels on everything seems well warranted.

They are the Belinda slippers in the ML brand.
I bought them at Kohls because with all my coupons and Kohls cash it was cheaper.
I do not see a warning on the Kohls or the HSN site for these slippers which does not mean much. I would think ML would use the same raw and/or similar goods for construction from their vendors.
-
I was looking at the kids Muk Luks cabin socks on QVC and. they had no warning posted but when I searched on Amazon to see about their price I noticed the warning on the same item.
Why isn’t the warning posted on the Q? I wouldn’t put my grandsons feet into a pair of socks with a cancer warning 🙁 -

It’s funny you mentioned this. I received 2 pairs of boots from Zulily that had a sticker on the sole that said the same thing. When I looked it up, many well known shoe companies have the same warning. I know it’s on SO many items but when I put those boots on, I feel like I have poison on me.
-
Werid because I just got some boots from my local shoe store and didn’t look on the til I got home it said same exact thing so I’m thinking we all got the same shoes from different places ?
-
Tossed both brand new pairs of boots in the garbage (essentially threw my money away). Too much of a hassle finding big boxes and packing them up and bringing them to be sent back. I’d never be able to wear them without feeling like I had an IV putting poison in my system.

I know as I’ve seen labels like that, too. What seems odd to me is the fact these items “are known to cause cancer…”. Yet, it’s usually only lists CA as recognizing this fact. Does this mean everyone outside CA is not susceptible to cancer? Of course, I’m being facetious. When I found those labels in 2 high-end handbags, I returned them. No questions asked, plus given a $100 gift certificate for that store.
Regards
