I created and started this thread nearly 14 years ago. 😎🎈
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe. 🌹✨😎I have been shopping and posting on HSN since the late
90’s 😎I have wonderful memories from the HSN we all know and love.

I grew up listening to and actually seeing many performances. As a child I went to dance class. The first one was learning the waltz, two step, charleston, etc.. Then I became engrossed with ballet and modern dance. I never made it to the stage and not sure if I would have done so if offered the opportunity. Back then I was too shy. But watching the movements and the ensembles was enough. It was actually the modern dance that brought hubs and I together. At the time we were dating Ct.College in New London offerred a program for new artists in modern dance. Hubs took me to one of the concerts and I was mesmerized the entire evening. During intermission and following the show the public were invited to meet the artists and the dancers. What a wonderful experience that we still talk about to this day. I count myself lucky that I grew up enjoying all venues of music thanks to an aunt and to my mother.
The weather here is hot hot hot and humid. I only ventured outside to empty some boxes. Not sure if I will be doing the weekly garbage and recycle for Monday. I have water with me wherever I go. The heat is very oppressive. And this is the way it will be through September and into October. Hubs enjoys this weather. Guess it’s because of an August birthday. Me, complete opposite. Born in a blizzard. Bring the cold and the snow I’m happy. Let someone else do the shoveling. (LOL).
Happy Father’s Day to your hubby. I’m sure he received some wonderful gifts. If he happended to be on the Gulf Coast, today was a special treat for all the dads. Free scoop of homemade ice cream with a choice of sugar free or regular, be it a cone or in a dish. The one scoop is more like two scoops. This is one of the ways our Farmer’s Market says thank you to their customers.
Enjoy the day. -

Good Evening and what a surprise on your concert. I have loved Herb Albert since i was
a child this is the music of my parents listen to and influenced me. I grew up around music
every genre. I love Rock, Pop, Soul, Gospel and Country. 😎🎈
Herb Alpert is a great artist and he has written for other artists. 💕
Glad you and hubby had a great time and thank you for the shout out.
I have been with many Icons in the music industry I remember each and every one. 😎
My take away is they are just like every day people until they hit the stage and then
they belt it out like nobody’s business and I love it. 💕The album cover above was what my parents had and I still remember that song. 💕😎
If he comes this way very soon I will see him I did not know he was older than my parents. Here is to a good evening and again Happy Father’s Day to your husband. 🎈

That’s What Friends Are For
Song by Dionne Warwick/Burt BacharachAnd I never thought I’d feel this way
And as far as I’m concerned
I’m glad I got the chance to say
That I do believe I love you
And if I should ever go away
Well, then close your eyes and try
To feel the way we do today
And then if you can remember
Keep smilin’, keep shinin’
Knowing you can always count on me for sure
That’s what friends are for
For good times and bad times
I’ll be on your side forever more
That’s what friends are for
Well, you came and opened me
And now there’s so much more I see
And so by the way I thank you
Oh and then for the times when we’re apart
Well, then close your eyes and know
These words are coming from my heart
And then if you can remember
Oh, keep smilin’ and keep shinin’
Knowing you can always count on me for sure
That’s what friends are for
In good times and bad times
I’ll be on your side forever more
Oh, that’s what friends are for
Keep smilin’, keep shinin’
Knowing you can always count on me for sure
That’s what friends are for
For good times and bad times
I’ll be on your side forever more
That’s what friends are for
Keep smilin’, keep shinin’
Knowing you can always count on me for sure
‘Cause I tell you that’s what friends are for
For good times and for bad times
I’ll be on your side forever more
That’s what friends are for (that’s what friends are for, ya)
On me for sure (count on me for sure, count on me for sure)
That’s what friends are for
Keep smilin’, keep shinin’ -

The Look of Love
Song by Sergio Mendes & Brasil ’66The look of love
Is in your eyes
A look that time can’t disguise
The look of love
Is saying so much more than just words could every say
And what my heart has heard
Well, it takes my breath away
I can hardly wait to hold you
Feel my arms around you
How long I have waited
Waited just to love you
Now that I have found you
You’ve got the look of love
It’s on your face
A look that time can’t erase
Be mine, tonight
Let this be just the start of so many nights like this
Let’s take a lovers vow
And seal it with a kiss
I can hardly wait to hold you
Feel my arms around you
How long I have waited
Waited just to love you
Now that I have found you
Don’t ever go (don’t ever go)
Don’t ever go (don’t ever go)
(Don’t ever go, don’t ever go, don’t ever go, don’t ever go, don’t ever go) -

What a Wonderful World
Song by Louis ArmstrongI see trees of green
Red roses too
I see them bloom
For me and you
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
I see skies of blue
And clouds of white
The bright blessed day
The dark sacred night
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
The colors of the rainbow
So pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces
Of people going by
I see friends shaking hands
Saying, “How do you do?”
They’re really saying
I love you
I hear babies cry
I watch them grow
They’ll learn much more
Than I’ll ever know
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
Yes, I think to myself
What a wonderful world
Ooh, yes -

Summer Wind
Song by Frank SinatraThe summer wind came blowin’ in
From across the sea
It lingered there to touch your hair
And walk with me
All summer long we sang a song
And then we strolled that golden sand
Two sweathearts
And the summer wind
Like painted kites
Those days and nights, they went flyin’ by
The world was new
Beneath the blue umbrella sky
Then softer than a piper man
One day it called to you
I lost you
I lost you to the summer wind
The autumn wind and the winter winds
They have come and gone
And still the days
Those lonely days, they go on and on
And guess who sighs his lullabies
Through nights that never end
My fickle friend
The summer wind
The summer wind
Warm summer wind
The summer wind -

This Guy’s in Love
Song by Herb AlpertYou see this guy
This guy’s in love with you
Yes, I’m in love
Who looks at you the way I do?
When you smile, I can tell
We know each other very well
How can I show you?
I’m glad I got to know you, ’cause
I’ve heard some talk
They say you think I’m fine
Yes, I’m in love
And what I’d do to make you mine
Tell me now, is it so?
Don’t let me be the last to know
My hands are shaking
Don’t let my heart keep breaking, ’cause
I need your love
I want your love
Say you’re in love
In love with this guy
If not, I’ll just die
Tell me now, is it so?
Don’t let me be the last to know
My hands are shaking
Don’t let my heart keep breaking, ’cause
I need your love
I want your love
Say you’re in love
In love with this guy
If not, I’ll just die -

Sheba, Thank you. You are so kind to think of his parents. Hubs is handling so much so I ‘ll get him a lot of ice cream for Fathers Day. Hope your hubs has a Happy Fathers Day!
We went to see Herb Alpert. He is such a talent and full of life at 91 years old. It was a fun show!
He had many memories of people he played with in his lifetime such as Louie Armstrong, Sergio Mendes, and Burt Baracharach. ANd speaking of great careers….
Oh Sheba you really had an amazing career yourself. I read your post about Ella Fitzgerald. It must have been so wonderful. -
Happy last day of Spring. Beautiful day in the ‘burgh, sunny and mid-70s.🌞
I did a few extra things today even though I had an up and down, back and forth kind of night. Hubs and I started a new reality show – The Voice: Battle of the Coughers!😂 Don’t have much of a voice left.
Hubs ran out for hoagies so we will eat those and watch the Open.
Lots of love and hugs to you and Poppy.🤗💖
