Historic markers all across the nation provide a glimpse into the past and preserve history for future generations. On the last Friday in April each year, National Historic Marker Day invites volunteers and communities to come together to maintain their markers. Unfortunately, weather and time take their toll on these small monuments to history. By working together, we not only ensure these markers tell the stories to future generations, but we also take the opportunity to celebrate the history and culture they preserve.

NATIONAL BUCKET LIST DAY

By definition, a bucket list is a list of things a person would like to do, but has never experienced before. Some people refer to them as milestones, while other people refer to them as goals. Whatever you call them, a bucket list is a list of things a person would like to accomplish before they die.

NATIONAL ARBOR DAY

Trees afford us many pleasures. In the spring, their buds let us know warmer weather is on the way. Their summer leaves provide ample shade on a hot day. Have you ever joyfully jumped into a pile of crisp colorful leaves in the fall? And in the winter, tree branches offer shelter to wildlife for our viewing pleasure. Each year in April, National Arbor Day encourages us to celebrate and plant trees. The observance takes place each year on the last Friday in April.

NATIONAL NECK CARE DAY

April 24 is National Neck Care Day, so there’s no better time to discuss the importance of caring for your neck as part of your daily skincare routine! Our goal is to empower people with all skin types to stop neglecting the neck and decolletage area and prevent common signs of aging that can appear.

Caring for the delicate skin on the neck is just as important as caring for the skin on the rest of your face. However, according to a survey conducted by NEOSTRATA®, only 17% of 2,000 women pay significant attention to caring for their neck. In addition, less than 1/3 of women use a skincare product on their neck daily. National Neck Care Day is intended to encourage people to take their skincare routine below the chin.

Many of us become self-conscious about our appearance as we get older, especially on the neck area. It’s an area that is often forgotten about, which is why it’s one of the first areas on the body to show signs of aging. The reality is our necks need just as much attention as our faces. The best thing you can do to get ahead of this is to include your neck as part of your skincare routine.
