NATIONAL HAWAII DAY | JULY 5

On July 5, National Hawaii Day recognizes the 50th state to be granted statehood in the United States. Unlike National Hawaii Day celebrated on June 24, this National Day actually celebrates the wonderful heritage, achievements, and beauty of the Hawaiian islands.

NATIONAL GRAHAM CRACKER DAY

July 5 recognizes 1/3rd of the s’more. It’s National Graham Cracker Day! Hopefully, you saved a few crackers if you were busy making s’mores over the Independence Day holiday.

NATIONAL APPLE TURNOVER DAY

Enjoy a sweet, individual pie on July 5 because that is precisely what National Apple Turnover Day is all about!

Also called hand pies because their design makes them portable, apple turnovers have been around since the 17th century. Bakers fill a smaller, flaky pie crust with fruit or meat and fold it in half. Once the edges are sealed, the pie is baked or fried. For added sweetness, add a dusting of sugar or icing on top.

Nearly every culture has a recipe for a turnover in its repertoire. Whether the method is savory or sweet, the ingredients readily available determined how the dough was made. However, most doughs adjust to a sweet recipe with the addition of fruit and sweet additives such as sugar, honey, or maple syrup.

Restaurants, bakeries, and even food trucks offer a variety of turnovers, and they make a delicious snack or meal. Apple turnovers come in a wide range, too! Caramel apple, apple cinnamon, or apple raisin are just a few of the combinations we’ve found. Be sure to check out your local businesses or try your own recipe.

NATIONAL HOP-A-PARK DAY

National Hop-A-Park Day on the first Saturday in July creates an opportunity to explore the parks in your area and learn more about your community.

NATIONAL PLAY OUTSIDE DAY

The first Saturday of every month is National Play Outside Day. This National Day presents opportunity to remind everyone to get outside and enjoy the fresh air through play.

NATIONAL BIKINI DAY

Since July 5, 1946, women have been hitting the beaches and pool sides in bikinis. National Bikini Day marks the anniversary of the invention of the revealing two-piece bathing suit.

NATIONAL WORKAHOLICS DAY

National Workaholics Day on July 5 reminds us to balance our work and home life. Work isn’t everything! Do you come in early, skip your lunch and stay late or know someone who does? This day is dedicated to the people who fit that description – the workaholics.

Good Evening Poppy is at my side and we have noise all over the place that has never
bothered Poppy. I am so glad the only thing that bothers Poppy is being in a moving
car. I will discuss further with his Vet.

People pay good money for the care of the Fur Babies when on Vacation or any reason
and worth every penny. I am lucky to have one of our children come and stay with Poppy.
This does several things the kids are home and they can see and talk with their friends. LOL!

Good Evening I am so sorry you are dealing with the virus. I hope your husband does not
get it and they give him second helpings. Oodie just rest and drink plenty of fluids.

Good grief you can’t catch a break. I hope you are eating your own food tonight.
I would read a good book or movie. I have noise all around me. So much Fireworks
and I am worried about the animals.

I will be up and off tonight as it will be a long night for me. I know they will be hungry.

I would not worry about the plants they can get done when you are feeling better.
