National Delaware Day on July 13 recognizes the First State to declare independence from the British. Rich in history, Delaware’s lands once belonged to New York and later Pennsylvania. But the independent spirit of this beautiful coastal countryside is more than just legendary.

NATIONAL BARBERSHOP MUSIC APPRECIATION DAY

If you can hear that sweet music on July 13, you already know it’s National Barbershop Music Appreciation Day. Today, we celebrate a cappella style of music and commemorate the anniversary of one of its musical societies.

NATIONAL BEANS ‘N’ FRANKS DAY

Good evening. Busy day today. Worked KP and had to redo an entire drawer. Had some minor problems closing and opening. Took the thing apart and used CB and now it’s perfect. Decided to also redo the implements that were in there and everything is spotless.

No rain in sight today or so they said. I was getting ready to shower and do some marketing when I noticed the sky was getting quite dark. Within minutes it was thundering and lightning and decided to check the computer and A/C. Both were on and both were soon closed. This storm gave us some much needed rain since it lasted a couple of hours. Not a heavy rain. By the time it ended, it was after 4 pm and I decided to continue with the KP. This time the receptionist answered. I asked what happened to yesterday. She said the new person was scheduled for the day. She was flabbergasted when I mentioned that no one answered the phone the whole day. I also mentioned that I didn’t see hubby because there was no one to open the door. The nurses and aids are always too busy to be bothered. She understood and said she would be on tomorrow. I will be making one stop at Aldi’s and then return home to put items away. Hope to be with hubby early afternoon. I will leave from now on during daylight. After seeing the snake, I don’t want to take a chance. Happened to see my neighbor yesterday and mentioned it to her. She has a small dog. When this house is almost back to normal, I will look for a four legged friend. I also need to get permission from the HOA prior..

The kitchen is starting to look real good. I am redoing the cabinets so I know where things are. Trying to also put some things in the bottom area so hubby when he is here can get what he needs. I am also looking at some of the carts. One in particular has a seat that rises and can turn 360 degrees. This would bring him up to stove top level. Though I really do not need a new stove, I am considering one that has the knobs in front. I also purchased an origami cart for onions and potatoes. However, I may be using one of the areas for small appliances. At least this way there will be very little bending on my part.
