Hi. Sorry about your loss just prior to the weekend. I guess we are both dealing with things. Suffice to say that hubby can only eat pureed foods. That is the rule of the speech therapist. The Social Worker has no authority. Though I have left several messages during the week for the speech therapist, he has not returned my calls. When hubby eats in the dining room he sees the food others have which also include fresh fruits that are sliced in bite size pieces, but none for him. He is tired of puddings, applesauce, etc.. Consequently he is very depressed. So on Wednesday I had a yen for a pizza. I ordered an Hawaiian pizza. Hubby took one slice and ate it slowly and enjoyed every morsel. Yesterday I was told I could not bring him any food and if I brought something for myself, I had to find a place to eat it. If I bring him anything, even ice cream, I will no longer be permitted to see him. And, as far as bringing him home, that is no longer possible. The head nurse and I had a disagreement right in front of hubby. At least, now, he knows what I have been up against. Suffice to say that during hubby’s stay I have done my homework. There are ways and means to get him in and out of bed. There are ways to get him to the shower and to a toilet. The head nurse said he will never be able to stand on one leg or to put pressure on the bad one. Funny, the orthopedists said with proper therapy anything is possible. I still feel he will do better at home with proper care. When I am used to the new way of doing things and the doctors give the OK, only then will we travel North. But for now, I cannot do anything. I am now trying to determine what I can do and at this point it is time for an attorney.

I am now home after visiting hubby. He was in bed when I arrived and had just finished dinner. I had made a brief stop at the Farmer’s Market for some goodies for him and for myself. Suffice to say that the visit did not go as planned. However, I finally met the new manager of the unit and I am not pleased. I need to calm down and take a few days to think things through. I am OK.

Praying that everything is going OK in Georgia. It is a beautiful State even though I have only seen it through the I-95 corridor. On our trek North, we have often stayed either in Darien or Savannah. However, a couple of years ago due unfortunate circumstances, our time in Georgia ended up to be 6 weeks instead of an overnight. I have never felt so welcomed during our stay and found so many helping hands. I was amazed, like you, on the beauty and homes that surpassed one’s imagination. Seems the homeowners take great pride in their home and grounds.

I hope your visit gives you time for pause and reflection. I’m sure your brother is enjoying your visit as well as your SIL.. I pray that her health continues to overcome the surgical procedure and that she remains cancer free forever. Take care and enjoy the time to smell the roses. Have a great evening and then some.

My son needed a break from GA. Hubs and I are in Atlanta for a few days to check on
my brother and his family. Our son is at our house in OZ.

This was done at the last minute and I had no internet my son said our provider just
got everything fix and it is now up and running.

Hey we have people on this thread that I have not heard from in 5 years I still keep
them close at heart.

Nice to be noticed I am not here which I know is rare. LOL! I always give that shout out
when I am concerned and we all have habits. Oodie called it just not the right State. 🌹

Son is watching Poppy and feeding the cats just need a short break. I think we needed
one too. All Good! 😎✨

My brother and SIL are doing alright I spent part of the morning with them. Yeah she
has last a lot of weight. When my son said he needed a break he was not kidding.

All the kids need a break. 🌹

Oodie how is hubby doing? I will be posting and checking in I will be home in a few
days and no one will know the difference. Thank you for your concern.

Very worried about SIL she is very thin as to be expected. I also lost another relative
and I am not able to talk about that one just yet. I have a lot going on.🌹😎

Oodie it’s what the storm left behind and the internet we will have light rain which is needed.

I am glad that you and your hubby took the time to see your sil and brother in Georgia, and of course the rest of the family. As you well know it is not easy to deal with a cancer diagnosis and to go through chemo and then the surgical procedure. It will probably take months before she starts to gain some of the weight. Her body needs to adjust to whatever was taken out and to find new ways to do things. I just hope and pray that each doctor appointment gives her good reports and then some. As soon as she starts gaining and her strength returns, then you know she is on the right path. Have patience. I think some makeup and new clothes may help the situation for the time being. Maybe some day trips can ease some of the pain as well. At least it is something to look forward to if you are feeling better.

I was at the rehab before 5 pm yesterday. Went to hubby’s room and he wasn’t there. Finally found him in the dining room in a corner. Moved him to the dining room table and had a nice time conversing about nothing. Following dinner an aide brought him to the lanai and I followed. He started singing songs from “Guys and Dolls.” I haven’t heard him sing in such a long time. He still has a voice. So good to hear and gave me a nice smile. I left just before 9 pm.

I didn’t go to the rehab today. Managed to get the trash and recycle out and that ended my day. On my way out the front door my left knee gave me a hard time and decided that I needed to take care of that issue. When hubby sees me in distress he starts to worry. Thankfully, the vehicle I use is automatic. My standard shift is in the garage up North.

Enjoy your visit and stay well. Your son needing to get away and returning home makes me smile. Tell your SIL not to lose hope. There will be some days that all seems well and then other days when you fall behind. Everything takes time to heal especially on the inside.

Good Evening all is well she is doing fine. I complimented her on her nails they look
so pretty. I think she looks good no whining or complaining. The hard part is behind
us. Moving forward the kids look really good. The house is warm and clean.

They do have help that comes in and do whatever needs to be done.
They also make sure her wounds are clean. I love her spirits she is very positive
and uplifting. I am so glad we are able to step up and help.🌹

I have many relatives in the area so busy weekend. I like to show up in good times as
well as hard times. I have that one too I just don’t want to talk about it right now.
I will as I come to terms with things. This relative is not in this City.

Family is really stressed that is why son came home for a moment he has friends here
and he loves the animals. I needed a break from home too.

I like the fact your husband can sing and that is a good sign. Oodie be careful with
your knee I know you have a lot on your plate too.

Good day on the Gulf Coast of Florida. 😎🎈Oodie OZ is having a lot of rain. I have to
say it is great for my gardens. The yards are all looking good. We will have off and on
rain for a few days. The only problem is the winds some people are without power.
I dread that and internet can be iffy depending on who you have.

I hope you are visiting your husband and everything is alright with the Aide. I am surprised
there is an issue. Oodie I for one and I am sure all the other girls feel the same will be glad
when your husband is home and under your watchful eyes.

Oz is around 60 degrees as I type this post. 🎈😎💕Mr. Poppy is looking so good. 💕

This is calm before more storms. Oodie let me know how things go today. 😘

Weather could be a bit cooler with lower humidity. We were over 90 on Tuesday and it will be about the same today (Wednesday) as I type. I saw hubby and his food is still pureed. I ordered a Hawaiian pizza from our favorite place and said to deliver whenever possible since it was the dining hour. Hubby was able to eat two or three slices without a problem. Sometime this week I will try a honey crisp apple. Apples have always been his nemesis since the day I met him. However, I am thinking that if I remove the skin and then cut into bite size pieces that may help the situation. I will try just a few pieces to start. Time will tell.

Today or rather around 1 am I decided to clean out my side of the chest. Used “Clean Boss” and I was surprised how clean everything looked. Went through the three drawers and found some items for donation. Later today I will do hubby’s side of the dresser so he can find his items without a hassle.

The Farmer’s Market will have a huge sale on blue crabs and crawfish for Memorial weekend. I was hoping for lobster or clams. Guess I need to wait. They also have corn on sale. 6 for $2.

I need to do some cleaning and then will pop over to Aldi’s before seeing hubby.

We have trees everywhere and lots of power outages in some areas.

I see why you are concerned when the weather knock down trees when trees fall
here they are uprooted from the ground and lord forbid if it hits a house or car.

I had all intentions to visit the rehab early today to meet with the speech therapist and the social worker. Unfortunately, the house took precedence. It turned out to be just as well. Tuesday looks better. I was hoping to do some planting as well. Guess I will get up early to get a start on things and then shower and dress for an early trip to the Rehab. Also something happened between the aide and hubby Sunday night. He was not his happy go lucky self when I returned from the restroom. He never answered when I asked, so this is another thing I need to discuss not only with the Social Worker but with the manager of the unit. I also will be contacting our Health Insurance to let them know. I do have a pretty good idea what happened. Time will tell if there are any additional changes. Also, arriving early I will be able to see our favorite aide. I may have lunch with hubby. I will need to speak with the receptionist to see if it is feasible.

This is a mess. I am going to look my cats I only saw one today I know they scared.
