BEST FRIENDS DAY

Best Friends Day falls on June 8 each year to honor your closest and dearest friend. The relationship between best friends is often fierce and can withstand distance, storms and silence. Whether we’ve known them all our lives or they are more recently acquired, best friends make tough times bearable, fun times memorable, and memorable times priceless.

NATIONAL LITTLE LEAGUE WEEK®

During the second week of June, National Little League Week® recognizes a youth program that instills sportsmanship, volunteerism, physical fitness and an appreciation of a game that has been loved for generations.

I must say that this is going to be a very tough week for me. This week HSN will be saying goodbye to its current facility in St. Petersburg, and those so chosen will transition to their new home in Pennsylvania on the campus of QVC.
I was one of the three hosts that sent the network on its way nationally, although this large faclility was still under construction.
I spent 16 years of my life here, and always thought my career would somehow end up here. Still, absolutely no regrets: I am very grateful for every step I have taken, and wish all my friends at HSN both past and present all the best wherever their next step may take them. 🙏❤️

I watched George Clooney on CNN and found the broadcast/Broadway play quite interesting. The story line was before my time. However, I do recall watching Edward R. Murrow interview guests at their home and in some cases a small tour. The play was very well written and I can see why George Clooney is up for an award. I just wish our TVs were up and running. But that’s for another day. Suffice to say they are collecting dust in another room.

I didn’t see hubby today. I had another sulfite attack and this time nipped in the you know what so it only lasted a few hours. However, hubby would have noticed the swelling and that would be enough to set him off. I will be contacting the dentist either Monday or Tuesday on his implant. When I brought it home I found the entire inside stuffed with some kind of paper. This meant he had not seen the dentist and this was probably a fix by either the nursing staff, speech therapist or the social workers. It took me hours to get it cleaned. However, they keep falling out. He has other problems as well that needs to be addressed. Evidently, the aids are too busy to hand the toothbrush to the patient. I wonder when hubby actually brushed his teeth.

I have heard from the people who will be redoing the bathroom. Hopefully, the work can begin in a week or two. I will need to empty the two hallway closets completely. We will be enlarging the shower and the rest of the bathroom. One of the closets houses the return on the A/C. I will be contacting our A/C people to turn the A/C completely off so that the area can be redone. The A/C techs will be supervising that end of the project. Also the water will be shut off. Worse scenario will be going to a hotel for the night. The bathroom, as I know it, will be non existent. They are going down to the bare walls and redoing the subfloor. The workers will reframe and redo the two closets and then my “fun” will begin. As if I haven’t been living out of boxes all this time. At least the kitchen is starting to look pretty good.

We will have three days next week for the possibility of showers. Notice I wrote “possibility.” This means that not everyone will see those drops. Monday is garbage day for us. Thursday I managed to get the recycle out due to the eye appointment. Could not do both. Have quite a few boxes for donations.
