Conversation 27
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is number 27 out of the
series. I created and started this thread 10 years ago.😎🎈
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe. 🌹✨😎

NATIONAL HOUSEWIFE’S DAY
National Housewife’s Day sets aside November 3rd to recognize the millions of hardworking housewives. The day honors the stay-at-home moms who take care of the children and the home. It’s a 24/7 job that sometimes does not get the thank you that is much deserved.

DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME ENDS
Daylight Saving Time ends on the first Sunday in November at 2:00 AM.
The practice of Daylight saving time (DST) (also known as summer time) advances clocks during the summer months. It causes us to lose an hour for one day. However, the practice allows people to get up earlier in the morning and experience more daylight in the evening. Typically, users of DST adjust clocks forward one hour near the start of spring. Then, they change them back again in the autumn.
The system has received both advocacy and criticism. Setting clocks forward benefits retail business, sports, and other activities exploiting sunlight after working hours. However, the practice causes problems for evening entertainment and other activities tied to the sun or darkness. For example, farming and fireworks shows are both affected.
Although some early proponents of DST aimed to reduce evening use of incandescent lighting (formerly a primary use of electricity, modern heating and cooling), usage patterns differ greatly. Additionally, research about how DST currently affects energy use is limited or contradictory.
Problems sometimes caused by DST clock shifts include:
they complicate timekeeping
can disrupt meetings, travel, billing, record keeping, medical devices, heavy equipment,
it especially impacts sleep patterns
Software can often adjust computer clocks automatically, but this can be limited and error-prone. Programming is particularly problematic when various jurisdictions change the dates and timings of DST changes. -

Our homes up North all have an Oriental theme. My mom started me on that hunt. Doing KP here, I came across a few items that I didn’t know I had. However, the theme in Florida is beachy. Things are starting to really come together Still have boxes to unpack with kitchen items. Still going through things and finding that donating means more to me than keeping. In a sense I am having fun going through things and decluttering as I go. It’s a slow process since I am doing everything by hand. Yes, hand washing everything. Though it’s slow, it gives me the opportunity to really look at things. I have one pan that I haven’t made a decision on. It’s one that grills and not used that often. I probably will end up donating.
The Claims Adjuster came an hour early. I quickly contacted the roofer and he was here a few minutes later. The two men seemed to know one another. I just hope that our insurance will cover some of the cost. He was here over an hours. The house is a total disaster. I feel like I am keeping things with all the boxes around, papers that need to be sorted and shredded, etc.. If I didn’t know this person i would probably say the house looks like one that you see on TV.. Thank goodness, this last episode didn’t bring any you know what.
Hubby was in good spirits tonight. I made a baked potato with dragon fruit and papaya. He devoured it. He was still hungry, so I gave him some of my dinner which included another potato. He wanted more, but I felt he had enough to eat. Hubby is on a low calorie diet in part because he isn’t exercising. I have a feeling he is in bed all day. I need to get there earlier to check it out. I may go before noon just to see and then head to Costco for gas.
The nightowl is telling me that it is time to say goodnight. Hope you had a nice day. Raking leaves is not my forte because of allergies. Pleasant dreams to you three. Goodnight.

HSN Vanessa Williams.
Colors Of The Wind
Song by Vanessa WilliamsYou think you own whatever land you land on
The earth is just a dead thing you can claim
But I know every rock and tree and creature
Has a life, has a spirit, has a name
You think the only people who are people
Are the people who look and think like you
But if you walk the footsteps of a stranger
You’ll learn things you never knew, you never knew
Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon
Or asked the grinning bobcat why he grinned?
Can you sing with all the voices of the mountain?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?
Come run the hidden pine trails of the forest
Come taste the sun-sweet berries of the earth
Come roll in all the riches all around you
And for once, never wonder what they’re worth
The rainstorm and the river are my brothers
The heron and the otter are my friends
And we are all connected to each other
In a circle, in a hoop that never ends
Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon
Or let the eagle tell you where he’s been
Can you sing with all the voices of the mountain?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind
How high does the sycamore grow?
If you cut it down, then you’ll never know
And you’ll never hear the wolf cry to the blue corn moon
For whether we are white or copper-skinned
We need to sing with all the voices of the mountain
Need to paint with all the colors of the wind
You can own the earth and still
All you’ll own is earth until
You can paint with all the colors of the wind
