NATIONAL BITTERSWEET CHOCOLATE WITH ALMONDS DAY

On November 7th, National Bittersweet Chocolate with Almonds Day ushers in one of the more healthful ways to enjoy chocolate.

This day was created for the men who do not know their way around the kitchen and are not familiar with cooking appliances, as well as for the women in their lives who need a break.

Men need to be aware that there is a list of rules that must be followed, some of which include:

The main meal must include a minimum of 4 ingredients and require at least one cooking utensil other than a fork.
The man does the shopping for all the necessary ingredients.
Clean up as you go.
Aprons are optional.

Good morning. I have labs today, so up early. Using the spare on the car. The next two days with Triple A worked better. They were here within 40 minutes. Thinking that the tip was the culprit to the tire, just had it filled and all seemed well. Drove to see hubby, and leaving, another story. Yep, the tire was down again. So made another call to Triple yesterday, and they were at my door within 20 minutes and attached the spare. Had an appointment with Firestone and when I arrived their computers were down, so will need to make another appointment. May try Costco since I need to gas up anyway and I also need a hotdog fix. Haven’t had one in over a year.

Hubby is good. The RNs are in an agreement that they feel hubby will do better at home. One of our neighbors is or was a Physical Therapist and he has friends that will be able to help. There is now no reason why he cannot stand on one leg and with help may be able to use the bad one as well. Walking may be a problem, but taking some tiny steps may not be. Time will tell. Getting him home at this time will be a slight problem. I will need to install 2 ramps. One from out den to the lanai and the other from the front door to the carport. I will also need to install a walk-in shower. That’s a one day job. But, why not do the entire bathroom to make it more handicapped friendly and accessible. I am also thinking of a sink with drawer space along with the underneath portion. Or may find a cabinet that will work even better. I’m not sure if something under the sink would work with a wheelchair. I’m looking online for ideas. This is so much fun. I’m learning a lot.

I am still doing KP, but things are now starting to come together. Redoing the second time has it’s charm. I redid the drawers and things are starting to come together. One side of the kitchen is almost done and I’m looking forward to getting the new airfryer out of the box. I also love the hex glad pans with the stainless. So easy to clean even the burnt areas is a quick thing with a sponge or towel. I discarded the teflon which in my opinion isn’t healthy. And, I found a cart that hubby can use in the house. The seat lifts up, so there will be no excuse for him to use the stove and oven or help clearing the table or doing the dishes. I also ordered an Origami bookcase for the den. It’s still in a box outside. The den will need a thorough cleaning from top to bottom before I put anything into that room. I will tackle that area before hubby returns. But best of all, I am finding things that I do not need and our tiny community does come together in December for a huge yard sale. It’s a one day event. Well, actually two. We all get together on the day of set up to check if there is something we need. Lately, I’ve stayed away. May do so this year as well.

Well, it’s almost time for me to get ready for the labs. It’s a cloudy day here and I suspect it’s Raphael. We may just get periods of rain. The hurricane is going in another direction. However, there is something else brewing out there. Never a dull moment, that’s for sure.

Went for a Covid and Flu shot today, left with a dtap and flu shot. Since I had Covid in early September, the nurse told me to wait. I still have some immunity, well hope so.

I feel settled back in but a bit bored after all that running around. Went to the gym and tried a yoga class. Yoga just isn’t my thing. It’s too hard on my wrists and knees. The floor is hard and some people double mats but I dont want to deal with all that as I bring my own mat. You know the gym mats probably aren’t cleaned. The stretch class a few days ago was really good.

The music from the Play was wonderful. The entire cast and crew were so great.

I have been up for hours and I do this in my spare time. I do more before I start the day
and this thread then most people do all day.

I love being creative I never know what I am going to do when my fingers hit the keyboard.
My mind and fingers work at the same time. LOL! I do not copy anyone on this planet that
would be annoying. I like being me and no one else. 😎
