NATIONAL WOMEN’S HEALTH & FITNESS DAY

On the last Wednesday in September, National Women’s Health & Fitness Day promotes the largest event for women’s health of all ages.

NATIONAL DAUGHTER’S DAY

When it comes to offspring, National Daughter’s Day on September 25 reminds us of the young women and girls in our lives. Today, spend time with your daughter or someone you think of as a daughter.

Daughters bring a certain kind of joy into our world. Like all children, they have their own personalities and strengths. As parents, we look forward to discovering the world through their eyes.

Depending on where you live, International Daughter’s Day is observed on the Fourth Sunday in September. Elsewhere the day might be observed on October 1st. No matter when you celebrate, the day provides an opportunity to show your daughter genuine support, encouragement, and love.

NATIONAL QUESADILLA DAY (Dia de la Quesadilla)

National Quesadilla Day on September 25 encourages us to pull a chair up to the table and eat some authentic Mexican food. While it’s not a sandwich or a taco, the quesadilla satisfies snack cravings while also completing a meal.

Typically made with a corn tortilla and filled with cheese, we heat quesadillas until the cheese melts. Then it hits the grill or frier until just crispy. Some people also include other fillings such as cooked sausage, chicken, pork, or beef. And don’t forget the toppings. Fresh tomatoes, salsa, herbs, sour cream, guacamole, or chilies bring a whole other level of flavor to the quesadilla. Don’t forget to finish it with a squeeze of lime. Serve it with an ice-cold beer or a margarita, and the meal is complete.

Families love quesadillas, too! In households around the country, families include quesadillas as a popular mealtime solution. In fact, V&V Supremo recently found one in three people are making quesadillas at least once a week*. Additionally, quesadillas have crossed over from authentic Mexican restaurant menus to more typical chain restaurants. Even higher-end gourmet eateries include them on their menus. Their simplicity allows for easy customization and people of all ages love to eat to them, too.

NATIONAL ONE-HIT WONDER DAY

Let’s turn up the volume and bring back memories on September 25 to celebrate National One-Hit Wonder Day. Today, we honor all the musical artists and chart-topping songs that make them memorable–even if it was just once.

Looks like most of the Gulf coast will get something out of this storm. Our area is being evacuated due to flood concerns. While visiting hubby, I made a reservation at a local motel just a few miles from the Rehab. Actually, it will be easier for me to drive just the three miles without worrying about flooding.

The weather people kept changing their predictions. On the map it looked like the Panhandle would get the brunt of the storm. However, the models do show that this storm has not only intensified in wind, but also in size making this one of the largest hurricanes on record. The reservation for the hotel starts tomorrow. I will return home Friday. I will probably stop at the Rehab on route and that will give me some time to check the road conditions. Not sure at this time if hubby will need to vacate since the Rehab abuts the river and could potentially see some flooding that could pose some problems. It now looks like the entire Gulf Coast will have some impact from this storm. I will keep you and everyone else updated as long as we have electricity. I do have a battery operated lantern just in case.

Dreary afternoon, may get a storm later today.⛈ Still humid. Car was done real quick this morning so should be good for another year, fingers crossed.🤞

You know me and pasta, I’m coming to your house for dinner.🍝 I can eat it every day. Add that glass of wine and it’s the perfect meal. Every so often throw in a piece of garlic bread, yeah!
