NATIONAL CHOCOLATE COVERED PRETZEL DAY

October 7 officially marks the sweet and salty goodness of National Chocolate Covered Pretzel Day. Whether they’re dipped in dark, milk or white chocolate, be sure to celebrate every mouthwatering pretzel bite!

NATIONAL LED LIGHT DAY

October 7 may be an unusually illuminating day considering it is National LED Light Day.

We are all born as incredible detectors of light. We intuitively notice differences in color and brightness. And lighting professionals know that much of human sensation is visual. People respond emotionally to light and color, using its consistency to draw us in, like moths to a glowing light. The power of LED lighting affects all of us in emotional, economic, and environmental ways, too.

NATIONAL CONSIGNMENT DAY

As the seasons change and our lives evolve, so do our styles and budgets. On the first Monday in October, National Consignment Day offers a way to elevate both. The holiday celebrates consignment as the smart, sustainable way to shop, earn money, and extend the life cycle of your items.

Our hearts and thoughts go out to all who are preparing for another storm, including many of our HSN team members, as Hurricane Milton makes its way to Florida. To ensure the safety of our teams and the St. Petersburg campus, we have temporarily suspended our live broadcast. Looks like the entire State has been asked to evacuate. There are no hotels available in my area or anywhere in Florida. For now, I will be with hubby and he may be evacuated to higher ground. If that is the case I will not be able to be with him or to follow them. Unfortunately, that is the case. However, though the scenario is that the storm will be a Category 4 when it hits Florida, there is a chance that the new high and sheer factor could lower the impact to either a Category Two or Three. The amount of rain will not change. Looks like that factor is pretty strong.

Sheba, Tampa is approximately 45 miles North from me. That makes the impact to me a bit lighter. The storm surge will be dramatic for the coastline from Naples to the panhandle, though the panhandle will not see the brunt of this storm.

I know you had your own problems and what you and your husband did for your nieces is wonderful. Not many uncles or aunts would take the extra road to show concern and to also show that you are family and you will always be there for them. I want you to know that not all families are not like yours. You and your husband are one in a million.

I will keep you posted as long as I have electricity and WiFi.
