Conversation – 26
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is number 26 out of the
series. I created and started this thread 10 years ago.😎🎈
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe. 🌹✨😎

NATIONAL HAZY IPA DAY
Each year during the third Thursday in August, we raise a glass to National Hazy IPA Day and enjoy the juicy and hoppy flavors found in Hazy IPAs. Once an obscure beer style, Hazy IPAs are now among the most popular craft beers in the country.
A Hazy IPA is a style of beer that is an off-shoot of the modern American-style India Pale Ale or American IPA. Often characterized by their cloudy or hazy appearance, Hazy IPAs provide a wide range of juicy flavor profiles. These flavors are often sweet and more approachable than traditional IPAs. A beer’s flavor depends on the ingredients used during the brewing process, and IPAs, including Hazy IPAs, are known for their hop-forward flavors and aromas. National Hazy IPA Day gives the perfect opportunity to enjoy a Hazy IPA, plus explore the different vibrant hop flavors found in this beer style.
The color and haziness of a Hazy IPA depends on malt, grains, and other ingredients used in the brewing process. Unlike traditional IPA styles, which are clear, Hazy IPAs are unfiltered to retain flavorful particulates and compounds from the hops used in the brewing process. In addition, Hazy IPAs are cloudy or hazy in appearance. They typically have a velvety pillowy mouthfeel and feature prominent juicy and aromatic flavors from the hops. Traditional IPA beer styles are typically filtered so the beer appears clear, or see-through in a glass.
The Hazy IPA beer style originated in the New England region of the U.S. in the early 2000s. Later, the “haze craze” spread to the West Coast resulting in the beer style exploding in popularity. Today it’s likely that any brewery you visit will have a hazy IPA on tap.

NATIONAL RELAXATION DAY
National Relaxation Day on August 15 encourages us to slow down and unwind. It’s a day to focus on taking care of ourselves and take a moment to relax.
National Relaxation Day is an important day as we all need a break from the fast-paced and often hectic lifestyles we live. Taking time to recuperate and rejuvenate our tired minds and bodies may help prevent many health risks, too. Like the founder of this day suggested, too much work can make us sick, run-down, tired and that’s just wrong.
But he was right! It has been proven that stress can be harmful to our health, both mentally and physically. Most doctors will agree that finding ways to relax and finding ways to reduce stress will improve overall health.
What is your favorite relaxation activity?
Reading a book
Fishing with a friend
A picnic in the park
Walking along the beach
Taking a drive in the country
Spa
Golfing
Photography
A movie
Window shopping
Lunch with friends
Drinks with friends
Watching sports
Swimming
These are just a few of the many possible relaxation ideas that you may want to use to celebrate this holiday. -
NATIONAL LEMON MERINGUE PIE DAY
National Lemon Meringue Pie Day on August 15 gives pie lovers and lemon lovers a chance to celebrate. Tart lemon curd and delicate meringue sing together in this deliciously bright pie.
When making a lemon meringue pie, the crust is usually made with a shortbread pastry. The filling for the pie is lemon curd. Of course, the topping is a fluffy and crisp meringue.
Whip egg whites to stiff peaks to make a meringue. Add sugar to make it sweet. Meringues are baked in a slow oven so when they’re finished, they come out crisp and golden.
Since meringue is versatile, it can be baked into individual servings with fruit fillings. Pastry chefs also like to make meringue cookies, too. By adding cocoa, coffee or any number of flavorings, the light, airy cookies melt in your mouth. The same applies to meringue pies.
The meringue was perfected in the 17th century. Meanwhile, lemon meringue pie as we know it today was developed in the 19th century.

Hubby is doing better. It was a few days of not eating or drinking liquids. My fault. I took two days in a row off and I surmise he was concerned. I did let the receptionist know that I was meeting with a couple of roofers and that I would be outside with the heat and humidity. Anyway, the heat got the best of me. I promised hubby that I would not be missing any more days. Yes, he still has a cough, but it has become almost non existent. Thank goodness that is getting better. I am not eating in front of him nor am I bringing any food.
Hubby has a roommate. Nice man. Met his wife the other day. They were celebrating their 67th anniversary. WOW !!!! Nice guy. We have had some nice conversations. I do not know what health issues he has. Only that he cannot walk and does have a feeding tube. He is trying to leave the Rehab for the Veteran home. However, tonight, when I arrived to see Hubby, he was so thankful. He was on oxygen and asked me to get the nurse. He could not breathe or catch his breath. I think he may have been having a heart attack. The nurse came in and took vitals and left. He asked me again to get her, which I did. He kept yelling for her and my husband told me to stay out of it,. I didn’t listen and fetched an aid who found the nurse. He was sent, finally, to the hospital. I hope he is OK, but have my doubts. The EMT’s took the bedding. His wife is a nice person and I feel for her. I have no idea if they had children. I didn’t pry. I have a feeling he didn’t make it. I hope I am wrong.
Our favorite aid has not been seen since Friday. The nurse on duty said he took a few days off. I’m not sure if that’s the case. He was due to work the weekend, Monday.and today. So many have left, I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if he is doing the same.
By the way, I also use an air purifier for the sinuses. Seems to help quite a bit. The one I purchased has a filter that you wash and when dried, return it to it’s rightful place. I’ve had it about a year and love it. However, nothing worked on those awful headaches until I mentioned it to t he physician. His prescript worked, Well, at least for now.
Take care and enjoy your walk with Poppy. Stay safe.

Do It Again
Song by The Beach BoysIt’s automatic when I talk with old friends
The conversation turns to girls
We knew when their hair was soft and long
And the beach was the place to go
Suntanned bodies and waves of sunshine
The California girls and a beautiful coastline
Warmed up weather let’s get together
And do it again
With a girl the lonely sea looks good
Makes your nighttimes warm and out of sight
Been so long
Been so long
Hey now, Hey now, Hey now
Hey now, hey now, hey now
Hey now, hey now, hey now
Hey now, Hey now, Hey now
Well, I’ve been thinking
‘Bout all the places we’ve surfed and danced
And all the faces we’ve missed
So, let’s get back together and do it again
