Conversation – 26
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is number 26 out of the
series. I created and started this thread 10 years ago.😎🎈
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe. 🌹✨😎

NATIONAL LIPSTICK DAY
National Lipstick Day on July 29 encourages you to wear your best color. For some, lipstick is the only makeup requirement. Whether sheer and light, dark or bright, National Lipstick Day calls for all kinds of lipstick.
Throughout the ages, controversy surrounded lipstick. British Parliament banned it in 1770 calling it a devilish attempt to trick men into marriage. In some circles, lipstick was associated with witchcraft. Occasionally, lipstick contained poisonous materials.
It is said Sarah Bernhardt created a scandal by applying “lip rouge” in public. Surprisingly, George Washington supposedly wore lipstick. While Queen Victoria considered wearing lipstick impolite, one of her statesmen had a different opinion. During World War II, Winston Churchill thought the lip color boosted morale in an excellent way.
Of course, versatility is lipstick’s brand. It changes with a mood or with the scenery. Whether lipstick defines your attitude or channels your inner spirit, wear it on July 29th. No matter your style, lipstick adds a subtle accent or a bold statement. Let your lips speak. However, punctuate it with your lipstick.

NATIONAL CHICKEN WING DAY
On July 29, National Chicken Wing Day encourages a frenzy of dipping and sauce tasting with our chicken wings. With so many choices, be sure to pace yourself because there are a lot of wings to be enjoyed!
The day celebrates the little appetizer that could. Also known as buffalo wings, hot wings or just wings, each of us eats about 290 per year. While a chicken has two wings per bird, it produces four of these tasty morsels. That’s because when we dissect the wing, we break it down into the wingette, drumette, and tip. The wingette and drumette get seasoned and fried into the deliciousness we devour at tailgate parties and trivia nights.
While many people do call them hot wings, one of the most popular sauces is ranch dressing. Another go-to dip is bleu cheese. Although, plenty of spicy sauces fill the menus. Since chicken wings are usually deep-fried, celery, carrots or other crunchy veggies accompany the dish to counterbalance the spice and fat.

NATIONAL LASAGNA DAY
July 29 is National Lasagna Day and we encourage everyone to enjoy at least one version of the delicious layers of noodles, sauces, cheeses, and whatever else your heart desires in your idea of lasagna.
Lasagna requires layering using cheeses, meats, vegetables, and sauce to create a delicious blend of savory baked layers. Since lasagna is one of the oldest kinds of pasta, cooks have developed quite a selection of recipes. From vegan to seafood and dessert, lasagna fills recipe books around the world. Even the sauces come in a wide variety.
Many families create unique recipes that are passed down from generation to generation. Sometimes the sauce makes the lasagna special and sometimes it’s the cheese blend that makes the dish special. Even fresh-picked tomatoes, onions, and herbs are often a cook’s secret.
5 Lasagna Facts
Lasagna was first made during the 14th century at the height of the Black Plague in Greece. Interestingly, this pasta dish was made specifically for special events and holidays, despite the bleak time it was created.
The original recipe of lasagna didn’t contain meat. In fact, the first recipe contained ingredients such as artichokes, eggplant, spinach, ricotta and grated cheeses.
The first printed recipe of lasagna dates back to 1634 by Giovanni Battista Crisci. The recipe was known as “lasagne di monache stufate, mozzarella e cacio.”
King Ferdinand II enjoyed “lasagne di carnevale,” the Neapolitan lasagna. This type of lasagna was made of meat ragu, small fried meatballs, hard boiled eggs and mozzarella cheese.
The most expensive lasagna in the world is found at the Portofino Mirage Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas. Known as the Diamond and Gold Lasagna, this lasagna sells for $100 a “slice” and consists of Kobe beef, Iberico ham, prosciutto di Parma, porcini mushrooms, and foie gras Alfredo sauce. -

We are on fire here in OZ and I am taking my time today. I had to put shoes on Poppy to
go for a walk. Poppy looked so cute this dog has not let me out of his sight since I got
back from Colorado. 😎💕I missed him too.I am about to post the TS I saw it last night as I was watching the Games.

Purchased the TS this morning. I am tired of bringing the fabric cooler to the car and then back to the house. It is heavy when you add two or more ice paks. Finally wheels to go up and down the steps both at home and rehab. Hopefully, it will also hold the 40 bottles of water. It will limit the number of trips to the car. Hope the wheels work. Dread returning if I must. Love the one I purchased months ago. Wonder if this one will be able to handle hubby’s keyboard and stand. Never realized how heavy the keyboard is.
It is extremely hot and the dew points put us over the 100 degree mark. YIKES 😅😅😅😅😅

There are quite a few gyms or exercise places near us in Florida. However, the one thing that they
do not take care of is cleaning the equipment after each use. The welcome desk area looks like a talk area where many are on their cells rather than working with the members. So many times I wanted to join only to find the members being teachers and cleaning the apparatus before use. -
If I remember correctly, you have a procedure scheduled sometime in August. I hope all goes well and you have a speedy recovery.
I am now working on the house to get things ready for hubby’s return. Have no idea when that will happen, but suffice to say I want everything completed so that he can enjoy going from room to room.
