The heat is unbearable especially when you add in the humidity. Still I was able to do some laundry early AM and finished just as the dark clouds started to appear. Temp according to the weather people was 107 degrees. Just as I was going to shower and dress to see hubby, the skies opened up with a whopper of a thunderstorm that lasted over an hour. This put a damper on seeing hubby. By the time I could hop into a shower and put things together it would put me past the time the reception area was opened to unlock the door. I will not be working on the house today so I can get an early start for Aldi’s and maybe the Farmer’s Market.

The Dragon Fruit this time of year is delicious. I mixed it with a homemade chicken salad and it really added to the flavor. Too hot for soup, yet I am tempted to make the melon one. The Farmer’s Market makes a mean clam chowder and the flavor is definitely New England. Sometimes I wish they would make the Rhode Island clear broth. That’s the one I miss the most. The market we use North has lobster on sale usually in August and Labor Day weekend. The last time I was there they were selling for $6 each. I’m su re they have more than tripled in price today.

I’m not able to watch the Olympics. Our TVs have not worked since the hurricanes two years ago. I will not be plugging them in until those rooms are cluttered free and disinfected. Mainly still doing KP. Tomorrow is garbage and recycle. I started going through the pans and have tossed quite a few. I am hoping that Wolfgang will bring a few sets with him in August. And speaking of pans. I purchased a Hex Clad 12″ wok. The box wasn’t easy to open, but when I finally did it was in a cloth bag. What a nice presentation. The wok is beautiful and I cannot wait to use it. I normally like the steel woks, but since I do not have a gas stove here, this will be OK.

Miss hearing from xango. I surmise that she either had the procedure or is about to. It’s strange here that no one likes the hospitals. The nurses and aids all seem to either go to Tampa or elsewhere. I surmise that is why many prefer the Rehabs in that area. Not sure if hubby would be accepted since we are 20 miles from the one I mentioned. There is also a wait list there. However, what I may do is contact them for some names of people who do PT at home. That’s an issue I will make a decision on later. Meanwhile I need to find a contractor to renovate the entire bathroom. At least I have the color scheme.

Enjoy the Olympics. I am able to see some of it on the computer. Hope you have time to peek outside for the shooting stars and the Aurora Borealis. Enjoy today and stay safe.
