Conversation – 22

  • Sheba2011
  • 12.15.23 3:39 PM

Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is number 22 out of the
series. I created and started this thread nearly 10 years ago.
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎

I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe. 🌹✨😎

      Nature Boy – David Bowie

      There was a boy.
      A very strange enchanted boy.
They say he wondered very far, very far, over land and sea.
A little shy, and sad of eye
      But very wise was he.
      And then one day
One magic day he passed my way.
And while we spoke of many things
      Fools and kings
      This he said to me:

      The greatest thing
      You’ll ever learn
      Is just to love
      And be loved in return.

NATIONAL CLEAN OFF YOUR DESK DAY

The second Monday of January each year recognizes National Clean Off Your Desk Day.

      CleanOffYourDeskDay

This day is an opportunity to begin your new year with a clean and organized workspace. Whether your desk is in a private or shared office, cubicle, home or a make-shift desk on the counter, having your workspace uncluttered and organized will help you work more efficiently. A clean workspace improves productivity and inspires us, too. It often gives us a sense of serenity.

HOW TO OBSERVE CLEAN OFF YOUR DESKTOP DAY

While there are those who say they know where everything is, we all know a clean start helps give us a new perspective.

      Tips for Getting Organized

Remove everything from your desk. Yes, everything.
Clean the surface. As you replace items, clean them with the appropriate cleaning supply. Usually, a damp cloth is sufficient, but other electrical items need specific care.
Get out the shredder and the garbage can. Shred, file, scan documents, business cards, recipes, photos as needed.

Place all documents and photos in the appropriate locations.
Shred and toss outdated documents, non-working pens, junk mail.
Don’t forget to replace that old calendar hanging on the wall. While you’re at it, vacuum up those dust bunnies and sanitize your keyboard. Place a fresh box of tissues on your newly cleaned desktop. You’ll be ready for new clients in no time.

NATIONAL CLEAN OFF YOUR DESK DAY HISTORY

While researching the origin of this tidy day, National Day Calendar staff uncovered information leading to A.C. Viero of Clio, Michigan as the founder of this annual holiday. Now that we can see the top of our desk, we can clearly see there will be more paperwork in our future!

      @oodiebom,

Good day on the Gulf Coast of Florida. Oodie this is a very busy day for you.
I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Take your time and check in when you.

Mask up and be safe my friend.

      These are for you.

      • 01.08.24 5:42 PM

      @sheba2011

I spoke with the Head Nurse this morning. Seems we are on the same wave length. We will be working together to get hubby home. It seems my idea is working and we will try to get a second opinion in Florida and see if anything can be accomplished. As far as hubby’s dementia goes, there are new drugs on the market that may be beneficial since we are dealing with the beginnings. I will try to get more info on this and to see if I can make this work as well. I think I mentioned this in Trivia one time. I feel very confident that I am finally on the right path. Everyone seems to be in agreement that hubby needs strength exercises and hopefully, this will start soon.

I was hoping to do laundry today. But, alas, no water. Seems the main pipeline is broken and it will be off all day. No laundry, no dishes, no using the disposal (I already did this) Since today is clean your desk day, will do that instead.

It’s cold here in Florida also. Windy with temps in the low 60s, though it feels like 10 degrees colder. Hope you four have a great day. Are the kitties using the new shelter???? If not, anyway you can give them warmth on the patio?????

      • TACI

Oodie, Sure hope you have heat. Thank you fro the covid tips. Much appreciated.

      • OODIEBOM
      • 01.09.24 4:33 AM

      @sheba2011

Water has been on an off since Friday. Seems the main line broke and though it was repaired, mud is seeping in. The plumbers were here with a backhoe and not sure where we stand since I haven’t checked the e-mail as yet. Arrived home a few minutes ago and noticed that the wind is picking up. I checked our things outside and moved a few to another area so as not to be at a neighbor’s home or causing damage to others. I may leave here early tomorrow to be with hubby. The Rehab seems to be a bit safer. Besides it good to be with him. Tonight he was OK. He ate his dinner. I arrived just in time to see. Unfortunately, he was in bed. He mentioned that both legs are now stiff. The head nurse will get a phone call from me in the morning. He needs to be able to move around.

Stay warm. Did you ever try putting insulation around the pipes that freeze??? It may help.

      • Sheba2011
      • 01.09.24 2:58 AM

      @oodiebom,

Good evening I have been out feeding the cats and making sure they are safe and warm.
I think they are going in the little house me and our son built I hope so we will have 0 degrees
      this weekend.

I am hoping we have power I don’t want to be cold and if the lights go out no heat. I will then
go to a hotel and stay if necessary.

I think every State is cold tonight and all week. Sheesh!

Oodie please tell me you have water. I am about to do a loud of laundry just to keep the
      pipes warm.

How is your husband doing today? Oodie you have a lot going on please take a little time
      for you.

      @taci,

Good morning in S. California. How is your son doing today? I hope he can taste
food again. Taci how are you?

You were so funny talking about your husband. LOL! Thanks I needed to laugh.
I had a busy day yesterday I did the Golden Globes Red Carpet. I let my husband and son
watch the Football Games and they had a ball.

Taci you know I am a Fashion person and I love the Red Carpet.

Hey watching Heidi Daus on HSN was a joy too.

Happy Trails To You. Poppy and I were really bundled today. We are expecting more snow
later today so I will let him out to his little spot in the backyard.

This is so California right about now.

sheba. it was fun watching Heidi Daus and was just like the days when she was on more often.
My son is back at work, Hubs is moving along, and i am isolated. Have a fever but am not testing positive. Hubs made e 2 mini bean tortillas today.
Very kind of your son to build a shelter for the cats.

Hi. Losing sense of taste and smell is part of Covid. These can return within days or can take years. So please have patience. Guess your hubby enjoyed that ice cream a little too much (LOL)😀😀.
Best advice is to stick with vitamins, hot soup, tea, ginger, Manuka honey, etc.. Let it take the normal course, but tell both patients that exercise is the best medicine. Also give them clean sheets daily. Give them each a plastic bag to put them into. Use gloves and a mask at all times. Wash ASAP. . If you have sunshine, you can put the plastic bags outside in the sun for a few hours. However, still wear mask and gloves when loading into the washer.

Good Club Sheba last night!👍✨ They all looked nice but no one really wowed me. I may have missed some here and there. You do have a great memory, almost right – Glen Close at the Oscars – gawjus!! That was the 40lb. gold dress she wore.

Feel about the same today, going to try and eat a little more. Have to go out tomorrow morning so I hope I don’t feel worse and it will be very windy and rainy.🌧 May get more snow Wednesday.

Sending warm hugs to you and Poppy.🤗💖

Last night the whoever host thought he was being funny making a joke about Taylor Swift
and Football. Taylor was not amused and neither was I.

This is her look when the camera Panned her. I would not try that joke here in OZ.

I hope you are feeling better. Oz is frozen and we will be at one degree over the weekend.

      No Going Back

There are times when we feel that we are spinning our wheels in the mud in terms of our spiritual progress. This can be especially true following a period of major growth in which we feel as if we’ve gained a lot of ground. In fact, this is the way growth goes — periods of intense forward movement give way to periods of what seems like stagnation. In those moments when we feel discouraged, it’s helpful to remember that we don’t ever really go backward. It may be that we are at a standstill because there is a new obstacle in our paths, or a new layer to get through, but the hard work we have done cannot be undone.

Sometimes during our spiritual growth, we can feel as if we are going backwards, rest assured you are not.

Every step on the path is meaningful, and even one that seems to take us backward is a forward step in the sense that it is what we must do to move to the next level. In addition, an intense growth spurt requires that we rest for a time in order to fully integrate the new energies that have been liberated by our hard work. When we feel we are not making progress, we can encourage ourselves to take a moment to rest. We can meditate more, feed ourselves well, and get extra sleep. Before we know it, we will be spurred on to work toward the next level of our development, and this rest will make sense then as something we needed in order to continue.

Once the sun rises, it doesn’t go backward but instead follows its path in one direction. It may appear to stand still for a moment in time, or to move more slowly at some point or another, but really it is steadily moving forward on its path. We are the same way, and once we have moved through something we can never really go back. We may be resting or revisiting issues that seem old, and it’s natural to feel stuck, but in truth we are always taking the next important step forward on our path. AMEN!

    • Sheba2011
    • 01.08.24 12:25 AM

The 81st annual Golden Globes is set to take place tonight at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, hosted by comedian Jo Koy. The night, which honors achievements in both film and television, kicks off a much-awaited awards season—and the spectacular fashion that comes with it.

Barbie and Succession lead the night with nine nominations each, with Oppenheimer coming in second with eight nods. Other major players of the night include Killers of the Flower Moon, Poor Things, Past Lives, and The Bear. (The full list of nominees can be viewed here.) This is the first ceremony since the disbandment of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association last year. It will now be presented by the Golden Globe Foundation, which is comprised of Elridge Industries and Dick Clark Productions.

The Globes is also making history tonight with the inclusion of a brand new category: Cinematic and Box Office Achievement. As the name suggests, this new award honors high-grossing films—some of which would otherwise not receive these prestigious nods. While Barbenheimer obviously carried movie theaters through the summer, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, John Wick: Chapter 4, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, and The Super Mario Bros. Movie make up the inaugural class of nominees.

The Golden Globes red carpet has also been the scene of many a fashion moment over the years, from Julia Roberts’s pinstriped skirt suit in 1991, to Nicole Kidman’s peacock feathered Gucci dress in 2005, and Natalie Portman’s rose embellished Viktor & Rolf in 2011. Last year’s highlights included Jessica Chastain’s crystal spiderweb dress from Oscar de la Renta, Rihanna in a voluminous Schiaparelli, Hillary Swank’s Prada maternity look, and Emma D’Arcy’s suiting from Acne Studios.

Below, see what the stars wore to the 2024 Golden Globes—and be sure to check back for live updates throughout the night.

      @sheba2011

Just returned from being with hubby. I mentioned my latest idea to him and he is so excited to see if my suggestion can be done. This would mean additional therapy to strengthen the right knee more and also his arms. The way we were treated on Friday was heartbreaking as well as heart wrenching. Today, I given the name of another orthopedist who works with the patient to give them a better life. I will try to meet with him Thursday morning when he speaks to a group of us. This one the nurses at the rehab could not stop raving about this person as a doctor. They never heard of the one we saw on Friday, nor do they like the place we went to. I surmise things change when you build new offices within a few miles of one another. I will write more when I can. If this isn’t good, will get another opinion in Ma… Yes, he has a touch of dementia. Wish he would pick up a book or read the Mushroom one. He really needs to get the brain to work again. Well, tomorrow will be an early visit since I want to speak with the head nurse/unit mgr. in the afternoon. It will be a long day for sure. And of course I will let him know that hubby spent two and a half days in bed. It’s almost like the help want to make him bedridden. I will be looking at other facilities which might be a better alternative. I need to visit our primary care physician to pick up some papers for myself. I have an appointment in a couple of weeks.

      @sheba2011

I am looking at low impact ideas we can try. I mentioned the bike pedals last night and found a couple that may be OK. However, I cannot bring them into the rehab. Only a doctor’s OK will do. I will be talking to some people today if they are working, if not, will head out Monday to get some answers. I do think we need a second and maybe a third opinion and then a decision can be made. So, I am working on that as well. These orthopedics may have been good at one time, but, in all honesty I am not happy with this one. We did have a good one, however, he transferred to a hospital that does not have the cleanest reputation. I have a funny feeling it was not his decision to make. As I said yesterday, there is one I am looking at off Cape which means we will be most likely be in Boston for any surgery if that is possible. This particular physician does not like to operate, but rather use other means to enable a person to stand and walk. Unfortunately, if hubby cannot get in and out of a vehicle on his own, traveling North will not be feasible. I am going with the nurses and aides at the Rehab. They think therapy is the way to go to get the surrounding muscles to work better. He is almost ready to stand and we do have a walker and wheelchair. I may redo the bathroom shower and make it so it is more of a walk in. I will be looking at th e shower footings though I think ours may do. I will be looking at other real estate in Florida to see if we can find something in our price range without stairs. Maybe something with an indoor pool. I will be contacting the Y during the week to see if that would be helpful for hubby. The rehab may be able to get him there for an appointment. Unfortunately, I know how nursing/convalescent homes work and as you can tell I am not at all thrilled. Hubby will lose his mind there and his hope. After dealing with the surgery in November I can see they are pulling at every straw possible to keep him there. The unfortunate part is that the physicians have no say in the matter and neither do the attorneys. So, I am on my own and will do whatever I can to bring him home. I had a feeling this would happen. Now to see what will be given the greatest prioirty.

Sorry about the results at yesterday’s appointment. Maybe I’m reading things wrong but you wrote the doctor said his knee was beyond repair. My question is why can’t it be replaced? I’m definitely no expert in knees but my husband had one replaced and many friends have also. In fact, one friend had both replaced at the same time. It is now considered a very common operation. All people go through PT after a replacement to get a good bend and to strengthen the knee and muscles. Everyone I know who has had it done made the same comment – why did I wait so long? And all had good results. Just a thought.

I agree with you. This orthopedist had a note from the rehab and took their advice. He only was with my husband for 10 minutes. Left but said he would be back. Left us stranded. Another nurse came in and asked why we were still there. Explained the situation and left. I had asked if some additional therapy for leg movements could be given. At first he said no then said we could try. He never asked for it on the sign off sheet. Nor did he put in a muscle relaxer from the pharmacy.I was told to give his assistant a phone call Monday. Not sure if I will. Meanwhile I am with hubby. He is moving all over the place in bed. I brought him a meal, but he enjoyed the dinner here.will update.

Oodie, glad your Dr. Shopping. You might try reading reviews on yelp, or even leaving reviews with what you are experiencing. Wondering the same thing as Shoelady. Where my Mother lived in AZ, a woman had early morning surgery and was back for lunch. I was shocked. Wishing you and your husband the best with resolving this situation. Does FL have Ombudsman’s? Maybe look into the website of Ombudsman in FL.? Also, what I found with my mother’s situation is the Medical notes are for the Medical staff to protect themselves. @sheba2011

Hi everyone. Thanks so much for your concern, but I think I may have a way to get hubby home. We have three steps leading to our front door which will require a ramp. I have wanted to move from this area for years but found homes (before they increased in value) to need work and I just didn’t want to spend the extra $$. I am now beginning to find some in our price range and they are brand new with a layout that is similar to what I have now. There are no stairs leading to the front door. I will just have to make sure that the doorways are wheelchair assessible. I will need to work with people to also make it handicapped ready. Ok, now I may have a solution that will require some help from rehab. I think hubby can stand on one leg. In his case I will not recommend crutches. I am thinking of a walker (which we have) that can get him to the bathroom on his own. Amazon has bars that go around a toilet that will enable to get from wheelchair to that area with the walker also aiding if need be. If he can stand on one leg he can also use the walker to get out of bed and into a wheelchair (which we also have). This is thinking out of the box. I’m just wondering if it will be feasible. Since we lost all but a few pieces of furniture due to rodents, we will be starting out from the beginning. Of course this is a temporary solution until something permanent can be arranged but will enable him to be home and may be get the assistance he needs in order to work out the problems of the left knee. And, if we can find a home that meets our needs we will be on our way. If this is workable he will be able to go shopping in grocery stores using their carts or I may find one for ourselves. Our walker does not have wheels. If and when he is able to use both legs I may take a look at the ones with wheels. This is just a thought. It looks good to my head, but may not be. At least it is giving me food for thought.

      Hi Oodiebom,

Sounds like you have your hands full. You have many challenges ahead, both good & difficult. It is great news he will soon be home with you.

Just a few thoughts from experience when my Dad had severe Alzheimer’s. My mother was Catholic & she received assistance from a Catholic organization: assistance showering; someone to sit with him when she ran errands-grocery shopping, etc. I have no idea of your religious affiliations, if you have any, but they helped with my Dad. My parents were living in Las Vegas at the time.

They had a roll in shower & showering chair to assist with this process.

Hospital-type bed with rails, that raise & lower, on top & bottom of bed to prevent falling (I believe you can rent or buy). If Dad had fallen, it would have been a major production to get him back up as he was a little difficult to reason with his Alzheimer’s personality.

If you get a walker with wheels, be sure there is a way to lock them, in case he wants to remain in one place for a time.

It sounds like you have the toilet access covered.

Hope all goes well for you and Hubby.

Good evening thank you for posting on the Heidi Daus Thread. I am still watching Adam
and Heidi Daus. I love her and Lynn Murphy from the earlier show fast pace and that is
      the way I like it.

I decided to do the thread while she was on just in case someone needs an item number.
Heidi has a lot of girls who love pins, necklace or whatever she makes.

      We are both Heidi Girls.

I hope your son gets his taste back and soon. So far so good for him this will pass soon.

I couldn’t agree with you more. He mentioned that the knee was beyond repair, yet it did not look that way on the x-ray. I feel he was looking for any excuse not to operate. Hubby may have a bit of dementia, but not enough to say that there are other methods that may help. I was reading about an orthopedist off Cape who actually does not believe in surgery unless it’s absolutely necessary. He claimed that there are other things that should be tried first. When hubby is ambulatory, I will try to make an appointment with this physician. The first orthopedist we saw here had hubby go for therapy. At that time it was the right knee that could not take any pressure. We never got to the surgery part because he was transferred to a hospital near us that had a real bad reputation due to bacteria and fungus throughout the rooms. I was reluctant to use this hospital because a friend of ours almost died. I just want hubby to be as comfortable as he can be and to live without pain. He was in good spirits tonight. One good thing is that he remembers the therapy he had with the first physician and has been practicing. I also agree with Taci that he may have an interest in this Rehab or with some of the personnel. Hubby stated tonight that it is a tough go in that the left knee is quite painful. We shall see what we can do to alleviate what we can.

To say I am exhausted is an understatement. It took over an hour and ten minutes to go 10 miles 10 minutes was just waiting for two vehicles to make a left turn. The rest was a parking lot. Hubby was in the office by the time I arrived. Xrays were taken of both knees. Met with the orthopedist a half hour later. Not good news. He will not operate. Said hubby should be in a convalescent home or assisted living. His mind is ok. Still didn’t know the day.. Knew the year. Also stated he would never walk or stand again. HE felt PT would not help. However, I insisted we try. I will be contacting his assistant on pt.. It was almost the same thing the rehab PT were saying.like he read their report. Will be looking for a second opinion. I still feel if the muscles were stronger he may have a good chance to stand and walk. I am trying to give him hope and more confidence.

This is not Over by any means. I am a fighter and not a quitter. This week chubby has made great strides. I am positive he will get to where he wants and needs to be. This physician I feel was listening to the Physical Therapy people who hubby felt were not that knowledgeable. There are other alternatives and the surgery as a last resort. Will continue to update.

      No trivia tonight

TACI thanks for your concern and opinion. For both of you, hubby is able to move the left leg and is working alone in trying to get the muscles workable. My concern is that the Physical Therapist in Rehab may have written a dissertation stating that my husband had plateaued and at the same time stated he had fallen. Funny, I was not informed of this fall. The orthopedist also said that the knee is beyond repair due to the number of falls hubby had at home. There is an orthopedist off Cape Cod who has been getting tremendous reviews. I am looking for a second opinion. The nurses and aides at the Rehab cannot believe what the physician told us. Hubby has made great strides in the last few weeks and wants home so bad he can taste it. We are not giving up and we will continue to fight this. By the way, he is really practicing lifting each leg up and trying to work through the pain. I am giving him the weekend to rest and starting Monday we will begin the workout. And, if I find him confined to bed there will be you know what to pay. There is also some equipment that I am looking at that could be helpful. He also needs to be able to get in and out of a vehicle so we can head North at some point. He is moving his legs more and more. I am also thinking of a stationary bike pedals that will strengthen the muscles more. This is something we can both use while watching a movie or a program on TV. There are so many alternatives that are useful. I have confidence that this too shall pass and will teach both of us what perseverance can do. Prior to the bladder surgery on November 27th, hubby was not able to move his legs. Today, he is trying and proving everyone wrong. Prior to the surgery, the head nurse/unit manager asked me to cancel because the catheter had been in too long. I almost did and told hubby about that conversation. He said if he didn’t do the surgery he would never know if it would have worked. As it turned out that nurse was wet behind the noodle. Well, time for me to call it a day. Heidi will be on in a few hours and I could really use her sense of humor. Oh, yes, Sheba, I do carry the masks with me just in case and I do mask up in crowded situations .

Oodie, Was this Dr in a hurry and just throwing out opinions. I know someone who had a total knee replacement and sometimes they can do other things to help. Your Dr. should have provided help or some direction towards what can be done and sounds a bit biased. OK I might not trust many Dr’s.
Well hubs is down now. He is testing positive and seems to be mild for now. He thought it was a flu or cold since he was testing negative yesterday. I’m masked up and testing negative. Sleeping elsewhere tonight but not sure where. I’m threatening to go find a Four Seasons. haha.

      Your Body Is a Temple

Like yin and yang, spirituality and physicality are two sides of creating genuine well-being.

The popular phrase “your body is a temple” shares a concept found in all the spiritual traditions throughout the world. As a metaphor, it signifies the body’s role as a vessel that houses our soul. Our physical body is the vehicle that carries our life force, and through it, we experience the world around us and interact with others.

Imagining our body as a temple can inspire us to be more mindful and loving in the ways that we treat ourselves. When we acknowledge that our spiritual self deserves a well-cared-for physical home, it motivates us to tend to our body’s needs, to give it respect, and to allow the body to express its true authenticity.

There are many ways we can treat our bodies with love: choosing nourishing, wholesome foods — we eat with consciousness and care; prioritizing our sleep and times of rest — we can recharge and feel ready to meet life’s challenges; moving and exercising our muscles, limbs, and cardiovascular system — we build strength and confidence; being attentive to our body’s aging and evolution — we give it the healing and care to support our soul’s radiance.

Spirituality and physicality are both needed. Like yin and yang, they are two sides of living a fulfilling life. To neglect one in favor of the other leaves us feeling off-balance. By caring for our physical health, we cultivate more inner peace and happiness. It is through this harmonious flow that we create genuine well-being. ✨✨✨

      But where we’re going baby

If you’re gonna do it, do it right
To do it on my own
      First class information
      Sense your inspiration
      And with some stimulation (oh)
We can do it right, oh
So, why waste time with the other guys
      When you can have mine?
I ain’t askin’ for no sacrifice
Baby, your friends do not need to know
I’ve got a real nice place to go, listen
I don’t need you to care
I don’t need you to understand, yeah
All I want is for you to be there
And when I’m turned on, if you want me
I’m your man (I’m your man)
If you’re gonna do it, do it right (right, do it with me)
If you’re gonna do it, do it right (right, do it with me)
If you’re gonna do it, do it right (right, do it with me)
If you’re gonna do it, do it right (right, do it with me)
Do it with me, now listen
If you’re gonna do it, you know what I say? (Do it with me)
If you’re gonna do it, don’t throw it away (do it with me)
Don’t throw it baby, don’t throw it
      Because
I’ll be your boy, I’ll be your man
I’ll be the one who understands
I’ll be your first, I’ll be your last
I’ll be the only one you ask
I’ll be your friend, I’ll be your toy
I’ll be the one who brings you joy
I’ll be your hope, I’ll be your pearl
I’ll take you halfway ’round the world
I’ll make you rich, I’ll make you poor
      Just don’t use the door
If you’re gonna do it, do it right (right, do it with me)
If you’re gonna do it, do it right (right, do it with me)
If you’re gonna do it, do it right (right, do it with me)

      Freedom
      Song by Wham

… Every day I hear a different story
People saying that you’re no good for me
Saw your lover with another and she’s makin’ a fool of you, oh
If you love me, baby, you’d deny it
But you laugh and tell me I should try it
      Tell me I’m a baby, and I don’t understand
… But you know that I’ll forgive you
      Just this once, twice, forever
‘Cause baby, you could drag me to and back
Just as long as we’re together
      And you do
      … I don’t want your freedom
I don’t want to play around
      I don’t want nobody, baby
Part time love just brings me down
      I don’t need your freedom
Girl, all I want right now is you
      … Do, do, do
      Whoa, oh, yeah
      Do-do-do-do-do-do
      Do-do-do-do-do-do
… Like a prisoner who has his own key
But I can’t escape until you love me
I just go from day to day knowing all about the other boys
You take my hand and tell me I’m a fool to give you all that I do
I bet you someday, baby, someone says the same to you
… But you know that I’ll forgive you
      Just this once, twice, forever
‘Cause baby, you could drag me to and back
Just as long as we’re together
      And you do, oh
      … I don’t want your freedom
I don’t want to play around
      I don’t want nobody, baby
Part time love just brings me down
      I don’t want your freedom
Girl, all I want right now is you
      … Do, do, do
Can’t you see you’re hurtin’ me?
      Whoa, oh, yeah
      Do-do-do-do-do-do
      Do-do-do-do-do-do
… You hurt me, baby, hurt me, baby
      Oh
      Do-do-do, do, do, do, do
      Do-do-do, do, do, do, do
      Do-do-do, do, do, do, do
      Do-do-do, do, do, do, do
You hurt me, baby, hurt me, baby
… But you know that I’ll forgive you
      Just this once, twice, forever
‘Cause baby, you could drag me to and back
Just as long as we’re together
      And you do, oh
      … I don’t want your freedom
I don’t need to play around
      I don’t want nobody, baby
Part time love just brings me down
      I don’t want your freedom
I don’t want to play around
      I don’t want nobody, baby
Part time love just brings me down
      … I don’t want your (I don’t want your)
      I don’t want your (I don’t want your)
      I don’t want your (I don’t want your)
      I don’t want your (I don’t want your)
      Oh

One step at a time. Good to see you post and do so as you feel like it. 😘

      @oodiebom,

Good day on the Gulf Coast of Florida. 😉🎈😎Oodie glad you had some me time to get
things caught up. I hope HD customer service will be able to assist you with your necklace.
I hope it comes out in your favor.

I am getting my recyclables ready for tomorrow we have to make sure no liquids are
in bottles i.e. water and juices. I am getting things I no longer need or use to a good
animal shelter and the proceeds goes to the animals. I have enough for some of the
other drop offs for donation to help people in need.

Good way for me to start the New Year. 😉

Tomorrow is a big day for you and hubby and I would focus on that. I hope everything
      goes well. 🎈

Here is to a good day with hubby. OZ is cold that is for sure.

Here is a little something to keep you warm. 😉

      @sheba2011

I did receive an e-mail from Heidi and the answer was take a second look at the model. So I did and then took the necklace out of the box and though dark, the green comes through. It turns out to look exactly like the model and I am pleased. Being a jewelry person I should have known to do this first. It needs to be under light to get the true effect. I am now looking at the “Pickle” pin. It has made me smile for two days and I needed that.

Hubby has the appointment tomorrow and the group has sent a few e-mails as a reminder and then asked the questions that will make the process easier for tomorrow. The only questions I couldn’t answer were pertaining to the meds. He will have that info with him tomorrow. Following his appointment I will make a stop at Aldi’s (across the street from the medical building) and then Costco (about a mile from the medical building). Not sure if hubby wants a hotdog so will wait on that for tomorrow.

Our recycles were picked up today. However garbage is tomorrow. I’m all set. The explanation on line was not that good. If there is no pickup tomorrow, it will happen Monday.

Stay warm. I hope the furry friends that come by every evening notice their new house and are making use of it. A nice quilt on the floor or blanket would make it warmer for them. Wish there was a way for you to heat it during the cold spells. Have a great evening and enjoy your son. Hmm, wonder if he wants to stay longer…….not a bad idea. Poppy will certainly miss him. Now, you four, go enjoy the fire and the hot chocolate. Nothing like something hot to warm the inside. Take care, stay safe.

Yep, that’s the Pickle pin. I cannot stop smiling and it will look nice on my summer hat with the beachy theme.

I arrived later than usual to see hubby. Just could not get started. But, I’m glad I was there. The sight was something to behold. When I arrived the first thing I saw was the empty wheelchair. I thought for sure something was amiss and in a sense it was. I thought for sure he would be sound asleep in bed. But, the second thing I noticed there were no feet at the foot of the bed. Next came the surprise. For the first time he was dressed and had shoes on and was sitting at the edge of the bed. I could not believe it. I actually had to look two or three times for this moment to sink in. Then the next surprise. “I feel like I am in a convalescent home.” ” I am losing my mind.” At which point I added, “thinking you are in a convalescent home shows me you are very observant.” “We have an appointment tomorrow to see if you can get some therapy going on those legs so you can ambulate from one room to another and get in and out of bed on your own as well as in and out of a car.” I also mentioned that I left books for him to read as well as the “Costco Connection.” I know he isn’t into puzzle books, so I have done a few on down time. I mentioned that he should start feeding his mind with books. I bought one on Black Friday dealing with mushrooms. He has yet taken the time to even look at the pictures. I mentioned that I am hoping he will be home soon and that I would need his help in getting from A to B. He was never one to sit back and let someone else do the work for him, but lately, it’s almost like he isn’t trying. Hoping the doctor tomorrow can offer some help. I need to get him out of this situation ASAP.. At least the catheter is out and he is happy that way. Again, I gave him leg exercises to do. He is moving better. I wouldn’t be surprised if by next week he could be standing.

Good morning in S. California. 😎😉How is your son doing? I hope he has a mild
      case of Covid.

I have been out walking with Poppy and the cold air did a lot of good. I came home and had
      some hot tea. 💕😎

Sheba, My son is isolated upstairs getting a lot of rest. I went out last night to supply him with drinks, ice cream, and soups. My hubs is eating the ice cream, oh well. During the day I open the front door and the back sliders to keep air flow through the house. He seems to have a milder case although i go up stairs with a KN95 mask to make sure he’s still breathing. Since you have 4, you know what i mean.

Glad you got a nice walk in today. Thanks for the cake, looking isn’t any calories, right. My re-order of Choco arrived today. 🙂

When it rains it pours. Your poor son. Even though he may have a mild case, he will still need to move around and exercise. I do not think there are any meds that would be affective, however, vitamins are helpful especially the Immune ones. I surmise we need to start masking up again when we are out and about. Again, thanks for reaching out on our appointment. I will post when I can.

      @shoelady60,

Good day in the beautiful ‘burgh. How are you doing today? Bet your mother and sister
are excited and perhaps packing for their Cruise. I know they will have a great time.

I can’t wait until the weather clears I need to go to GA.

I am multi-tasking as always seems like it’s never a dull moment in these parts. 😎

Enjoy your day sending warm vibes to you and Jake’s Canvas. 😘🎈

Shoelady, thanks for the well wishes for my son. Hubs tested negative this morning but he’s doing his part by helping eat up my sons ice cream.
Happy New Year to you! We only travel with carry on as well. Makes things much easier.

      @sheba2011

I think we are the same person – I am multi-tasking today with a bunch of small things. Already had a couple cups of tea☕ and, yep, it’s cold and windy here.🥶 We can call it Ozburgh.

Spent the day at mom’s yesterday. They are taking the cruise the middle of February but you’re right. Mom talked about getting her luggage out because it takes her longer to pack and to decide what she wants to take.🙄 It will be a little harder since this cruise is for two weeks. I am a great packer. No matter where I go, I get everything into a carry-on.

A trip to GA to visit your children sounds like a winner. Maybe for Easter, although it’s a little early this year but the weather should be good by then. GA in the summer is too hot and humid for me.🔥😜 Did that once to visit SIL and learned my lesson.

Keep warm, sending hugs to you, Poppy and the kitties.🤗💖

      @shoelady60

Prayers do help and thank you for those thoughts. I am getting ready to leave and hopefully, the orthopedist will be able to do the reconstructive surgery. This surgery was postponed three times because hubby forgot which knee needed to be done and wha t the date was. At that time he was in a stupor and later found it was due to one of his meds. Anyway, he came through the bladder surgery in better shape and when I mentioned to the urologist about the knee reconstruction being postponed because of “dementia” he was shocked. Well, it wasn’t really about the surgery, but rather the anesthesia is different. The doctor took a double take on that one. He mentioned that the same anesthesia would be used on the knee. Go figure……

      @shoelady60,

Good evening yeah a trip around spring would be nice I do not like really hot weather.
If I can’t deal with OZ I certainly cannot endure GA. So I will go when the weather permits.

The kids always come home I guess that is one reason I have not been there since Covid.

Hey enjoy this tonight and keep warm and toasty.

Good morning Kitten in California this reminds me of you. 😎🎈

When we take ownership of our thoughts, we are less likely to project our issues or disowned qualities onto others.

We all have issues, as well as undesirable qualities or traits that we don’t like about ourselves. Most of us realize that we are not perfect and that it is natural to have unpleasant thoughts, motivations, desires, or feelings. However, when a person does not acknowledge these, they may ascribe those characteristics to someone else, deeming other people instead as angry, jealous, or insecure. In psychological terms, such blaming and fault finding is called projection.

When we are the target of projections, it can be confusing and frustrating, not to mention maddening, particularly when we know that we are not the cause of another person’s distress. Even people who are well aware of their issues may find that sensitive subjects can bring up unexpected projections. They may feel insecure about a lack of funds and thus view a friend as extravagant. Or, if they really want to get in shape, they may preach the benefits of exercise to anyone and everyone.

While we can try to avoid people we know who engage in projecting their “stuff” onto others, we can’t always steer clear of such encounters. We can, however, deflect some projections through mindfulness and meditation. A useful visualization tool is to imagine wrapping ourselves in a protective light everyday. At other times, we may have to put up a protective shield when we feel a projection coming our way, reminding ourselves that someone else’s issues are not ours. Although it’s difficult not to react when we are the recipient of a projection, it is a good idea to try to remain calm and let the other person know if they are being unreasonable and disrespectful. We all know that it’s not fun to be dumped on. Likewise, we should be mindful that we don’t take our own frustrations out on others. When we take ownership of our thoughts, motivations, desires, and feelings, we are less likely to project our issues or disowned qualities onto others. AMEN! 🎈
