Hello Sheba, I hope this finds you well.
I am sorry for the loss of your cousin, I am glad the service was beautiful.
This year, and month so many have gone from this World. We had our friends parents, (two different families) parents who attended our wedding many years ago pass this month too. I am hoping the new year brings us all a better year.

Brazil is in Summer now, and it’s very hot and lots of thunder storms where my family is. The South region this year has been hit with lots of rain and continues to rain alot.

I am dressed in layers. Sweatshirt and jacket are on hubby’s wheelchair. Temps will be in the mid 50s when I leave.

I was at the opening. The market is huge. So much to look at. I think you may like this market. As you know it is owned by an Amish family. They do carry the milk you asked for. There food and soups are all homemade. No preservatives. However, our van was hit by someone while I shopped. Found out when my neighbor noticed the front fender was coming off on the passenger side. I took out what I could before Triple arrived. They towed it to a dealership close by. Car insurance should cover.

Sorry about your loss. Seems the holidays are the most trying times.

I know how you felt about the mattress with out the box spring. I felt the same way. However I needed to go lower for hubby. I purchased a new one with box spring and my back thanks me every morning. Well back to Trivia I will be heading home soon.

So sorry about tonight. I thought I would be home to either join you in Trivia or to say goodnight. But there were other forces playing. Thursday, when I visited hubby, I noticed his Sherpa blanket was not on the bed. I asked him if he knew where it was. He had no idea. His roommate said ditto.

The head nurse had left early, so decided to wait until today. Thankfully he was in and he had no idea where it could be. Unfortunately, I had not used a name tag thinking I would wash it at home. Also the Id things are in the van and as you know that vehicle is in a dealership and I do not have access to anything and that also includes water. As I was about to go out the door to the car, the head nurse took me aside and we went looking together. He brought me to the laundry room and we poured over some items and then on the bottom shelf, it was there, neatly folded. I forgot to mention that hubby is in love with this blanket and he asked for it. Now, there is one more thing missing. Saturday night I fell asleep in the chair and a nurse really had to work hard to awaken me. The time was 11 pm. I had the Kindle Paperwhite with me and was in a deep fog when awakened. I had looked at the wheelchair and thought it was odd that there was one that looked exactly like mine. I thought it belonged to one of the nurses, so I left it in the wheelchair. Anyway, it’s gone. There is a possibility that it could be somewhere near the front door. Though I have looked in that area, it could be under something. Lastly, on the way home there were police cars all over an area so I had to find an alternative route. So far I have no idea if there was an accident or something else occurred. Maybe it was just as well that I left the rehab later. That’s it for now. I’m going to bed.

Hi, Hopefully you were able to get some real good sleep and rest.
After my fall, I had to sleep on the sofa because the bed was to high to climb. After about a month, hubby took out the box spring out so it became lower. Leaving only the mattress, and it made my lower back hurt as well. Now that I am better the box spring is back.

I wanted to go down to that farmer’s market during the grand opening. It’s about two hours or so from here. But I am not quite up to par yet.

Hope your hubby enjoyed the Chilli. We too will be getting some cold days.

Sheba, Hello and hope you have a great weekend! Not much going on here. The Car Show was good but many cars makers were missing this year. That’s ok we still enjoyed the smaller version, as it’s not overwhelming. My Son says the black out curtains work almost too well. haha, now it’s very dark. I offered to take one off or all of them but he said not to at this time. Kids….

But before it was ever made into a sweet candy, it was ground into a beverage. In the ruling class society, the beverage was used for medical purposes.

In 1828, Dutch inventor and chemist, Coenraad Van Houten, developed a way to produce chocolate in solid form. His hydraulic press made it possible to remove the cocoa butter from the cacao. His invention leads to producing a powder opening the way for the first chocolate confections. It’s thanks to Van Houten we can enjoy the variety of chocolates we do today.

Whitman’s produced their first box of chocolate in 1842.
In 1847, British chocolate company J.S. Fry & Sons combined cocoa butter, cocoa powder, and sugar-producing the first edible chocolate bar.

When Allied troops stormed the beach of Normandy on D-Day, part of emergency rations and in soldiers’ packs included the D ration bar designed by Hershey Chocolate company for the U.S. Army.

Americans consume 12 pounds of chocolate each year.

I hope you don’t work too hard like I did yesterday. I have some sniffles from working outside
in the cold I did manage to get a shed for the outdoor cats to seek shelter. We are in the low
30’s today and for the rest of the week. I am fine with that as long as I can protect the critters.

That necklace is a statement piece for sure. Funny, I saw the head nurse last night and he heard about that necklace. Hmm…..maybe I’ll wear it again for the New Year, though, I am debating about driving to the Rehab on Sunday due to those who drink and drive.

Hubby was his sweet, wonderful self last night. I almost forgot what the ole hubby was like. First time in a long time that he was able to ascertain some of our mail. First time he acknowledged that he really needs new glasses. He did have an eye exam at the Rehab last month. Unfortunately, the ophthalmologist did not give the papers to the head nurse/unit mgr. I will now have to run down to her office to get a copy. From what I was told it went directly to MV.. Hmm……I found the original MV papers in hubby’s side table. That form I had given to the Head Nurse and said that we would need this paper for MV and an ID card. I forgot to mention this last night. I will have to wait until tomorrow because he is only at the Rehab for the morning today. It’s surprising that he doesn’t keep track of things the way they should be. I pray and hope he stays this way. Yes, I want him home where he can continue to grow his mind. The doctor’s visit next week is to ascertain if he can have a complete knee restoration. Unfortunately, it may be a two month wait. Meanwhile, I will ask about Physical Therapy and the use of muscle relaxants to help him use his legs more.

Yesterday was paperwork and today it is clearing the front door area. Seems everything gets dumped there and I can only blame myself. Or, maybe there is a gremlin nearby(LOL).

Today will be a rainy one. Cooler temps through the weekend that will probably head North. From what I was told, temps may not get out of the 50s and could go near freezing at night. Welcome to New England. OOPs……..Not to worry. Have clothes for layering and winter jackets. I am prepared…….

Taci you did ask the other day about my New Year’s Eve plans. Hubby and I are walking
two doors down to our neighbors who always throw a great New Year’s Eve Party.

like I always do dressed to the nines. I will linger a bit and then I am out. We have guns going
off in these parts and the animals will be very upset. Poppy does not get upset but I am
worried about the critters.

Good Thursday afternoon to you. With my husband coming home on a Monday, Christmas on a Monday and football on Christmas, those days turned into Sundays and I have been one day behind these last two weeks. I need a brain rewind.🥴

That game last night – I don’t know if we were that good or they were that bad. It was a football score.😅 They have three games in four days coming up, wish they would have saved a couple goals for those. Not complaining since they haven’t done that well this year.

Love what you are doing for the kitties and critters.💕 When I was at the shelter, so many times I almost cried when I would leave. If you save just one it is worth it.

Evolution of the Soul

Often we reincarnate on earth with our soul family, and often our most intense relationships are with our soul family.

You meet someone for the first time and feel as if you know them already. You’re in a town you’ve never been to before, yet you recognize streets and buildings. You start playing a new sport and amaze everyone, including yourself, at your natural abilities and intuitive knowing of the rules. Hi and good afternoon. Doing some mail upkeep and paying bills. Tomorrow more of the house work which seems never ending and daunting. By the way, not sure if I mentioned, but the necklace I wore on Christmas Day was the Dazzling Duchess which I purchased on HSN. The color on the website shows a light pink color when in reality it is a deep raspberry. I have my eye on the green one as well. I am over the moon with this purchase. I was amazed on the oohs and ahs and people stopped me yesterday to ask where I purchased it. Like you, I wait for a sale. Heidi is one of a kind. Looking forward to her next visit which I surmise is next week if all is well.

Our appointment with the orthopedist is a week from Friday. If surgery is not in the cards I hope and pray that he has an idea or two or more that will get hubby up and walking either with or without a walker. I also need to bring him to MV to update his Driver’s License. In his case it will be an ID card until he is given permission to be behind the wheel.

Today is very cloudy with showers. Tomorrow rain. I just hope it reduces the drought situation. Tomorrow I will be dropping off something for our physicians. I am also hoping that I convince them that I need a letter recommending a service dog. The neighbor across from us had Eustachian tube surgery last year. She needs to do it again and is reluctant. Her hearing aids are not that helpful. This is why I will try Amazon first and if they work, will update at Costco I found a few and will discuss them with hubby. I am trying to keep his mind working. Oh my, the su n just came out. Have a great day. Enjoy the moments wherever you are and whatever you are doing.

Oh my! This is gorgeous! I think this is the color way you are talking about.

Sheba, glad the cats will get a new shelter. It is very kind-heated and generous.
The new trails have a lot more activity and the people are very nice. My old route had very few people so it was easy to unwind. It’s fun to meet new people. Today I fell (how embarrassing) on a mini rock scramble. No injuries and it was fun and I guess a challenge to try the new trail. I’ll do it again tomorrow. Oh my, I wore my jacket today. And it is an HSN purchase from 2 years ago. It’s warm and lightweight.
NYE is approaching soon. Are you and hubs going out? Not sure if I will yet.

My brother who loves the Raiders had a great Christmas. Brother’s Team won and it
was his wife my SIL Birthday. We talked and he could contain himself. This brother will
fly wife and all to Vegas for any Raiders Game they will stay a couple days then back to
Colorado. 😎💕 I am so glad he is happy.

Good day on the Gulf Coast of Florida. 😎🎈Oodie I don’t like how the day went at the
Rehab for your husband. My goodness no one seemed to care. If I were on staff I would
have went all out for the guests. I am sure the dollar store would have had things for the
guests to enjoy even Costco or other stores had plenty of beautiful things just to make
it special.

I wish they had brought the Piano out what is life without music? I am sure your husband
could have played anything. Oodie very smart of you to go get the Asian Food. I see all the
Grinches are in full force during this season. I feel they could have did better.

Glad you got some good rest I can’t wait for your husband to get out of that place.

Oodie our holiday was just perfect very small and my good was delicious. 💕😉 Hubby
and our son is off today I am just going to have a calm day. 🎈

This day is somewhat somber because my family member has passed and most of the family
are in Minnesota. I have spent a lot of time on the phone with all my family. 💕My aunt who is
my father’s sister celebrated her birthday on the 23rd we had a good time talking about life.

The rehab also acts as a convalescent home and an assisted living facility. Hubby’s roommate is a permanent guest. He actually does very well for himself and I surmise the reason he is there is because he has no family or friends to look in on him. Hubby says he has had no visitors and is alone except when there is time for a cigarette or two.

Hubby has a couple of pianos here that are portable. I am thinking about bringing one of them with me so he can have some fun. I think if the head nurse/unit manager happened to drop in, the piano would have been in the dining room. That, to me, was a lost opportunity. I am sure the patients would have enjoyed a good carol sing as well as stomping t heir feet to wintry songs as well. Food was secondary. It’s too bad that I had so suffer from it, but I am OK now.

I made it to bed this morning around 5 am and then slept most of the day. I did manage to rise long enough to get the garbage out.Our next day for garbage and hopefully also recycle will be Friday.

Hubby wasn’t his ole sweet self tonight. He had some stomach aches and other things going on. I think most of it was from the Christmas dinner. The nurses were there with a helping hand. I left him with his fingers in a plastic bag with cookies, so I surmise the worse is over. I also noticed that the gas crept u pwards about 6-10 cents depending upon which part of the city you were in. I will be filling up wither at Sams or Costco.

Oh yes, on the way to the Rehab, I noticed the full cold moon. Absolutely gorgeous with the sun hitting it just right. On the way home, no moon. Clouds were hiding it and now I think we are in for a little bit of rain. We really need it.

Taci I am wearing a Storybook Sweater I brought from HSN years ago. I do miss that
line of Sweaters I have many with different designs these sweaters are so original
I wish HSN could bring them back. 💕

I was able to find this online. I had so many when HSN were selling them. I was still
working at the time and everyone always loved the sweaters. 💕🎈I got my monies
worth because I still wear them on cold days like today.

Met a quirky guy on the peak today. He was in flip flops with a toe ring, polished toenails, and a braid of hair all the way down his back. We chatted for a while. In case I didn’t tell you, I am a nerd magnet. Yup, can’t help it. haha. The new trail has more people and no critters so far.

All my family are relaxing today. Hubby and I are in the bedroom with the fireplace on.
We are really cold. I keep checking on the little critters. I sleep better knowing they are alright.

I have to be Everything Everywhere All At Once even through the noise. 😎🎈

My feet are cold from going in and out I will warm up soon. I am in my dressing room which
also serves as my office this is where all the magic happens. I have the Curio Lights on
in two large Black Italian Lacquer Curio Cabinets with nothing but my Heidi Daus Swarovski
Crystal pieces and it looks so magical with only the Curio Lights all everything seems to come
to life. 💕

I do this every night it is so beautiful. I have her statement Necklaces, earrings, Pins and Rings
every single piece is shining. No Christmas Tree needed in this room. 😎

Reversed Perceptions

When we take ownership of our thoughts, we are less likely to project our issues or disowned qualities onto others.

We all have issues, as well as undesirable qualities or traits that we don’t like about ourselves. Most of us realize that we are not perfect and that it is natural to have unpleasant thoughts, motivations, desires, or feelings. However, when a person does not acknowledge these, they may ascribe those characteristics to someone else, deeming other people instead as angry, jealous, or insecure. In psychological terms, such blaming and fault finding is called projection.

When we are the target of projections, it can be confusing and frustrating, not to mention maddening, particularly when we know that we are not the cause of another person’s distress. Even people who are well aware of their issues may find that sensitive subjects can bring up unexpected projections. They may feel insecure about a lack of funds and thus view a friend as extravagant. Or, if they really want to get in shape, they may preach the benefits of exercise to anyone and everyone.

While we can try to avoid people we know who engage in projecting their “stuff” onto others, we can’t always steer clear of such encounters. We can, however, deflect some projections through mindfulness and meditation. A useful visualization tool is to imagine wrapping ourselves in a protective light everyday. At other times, we may have to put up a protective shield when we feel a projection coming our way, reminding ourselves that someone else’s issues are not ours. Although it’s difficult not to react when we are the recipient of a projection, it is a good idea to try to remain calm and let the other person know if they are being unreasonable and disrespectful. We all know that it’s not fun to be dumped on. Likewise, we should be mindful that we don’t take our own frustrations out on others. When we take ownership of our thoughts, motivations, desires, and feelings, we are less likely to project our issues or disowned qualities onto others. AMEN!

Welcome back. I missed your posts and hearing about your traditions for Christmas. I hope you had a great Christmas and you and hubby had fun in the food preparations. We had a gentle rain all morning and into late afternoon. It will just barely touch the drought areas. As hubby put it, thank goodness it wasn’t snow. I do recall a two week period of real cold temps for Florida. That was the year that I had no warm clothing with us. Afterall, Florida is supposedly warm all year round. I think on Black Friday while we were shivering, we went shopping for warm coats and sweatshirts. Bealls Outlet and Walmart come to mind. Actually, we had tried all the retail stores in the area and no one had anything we could wear in the cold. Thank goodness for the two stores I just mentioned. From that time on we always include a few sweatshirts and a jacket as well.

I hope you are beginning to feel like your ole self once again. Just do not overdo anything.

Colorado to be with me and hubby. 😉🎈😎I had my entire family there and my mom
was so pleased. I slept with my mother just like the good ole days. 😘💕

I wish I were there today but that beast known as Covid is showing it’s ugly head. Sheesh!

Oodie let me know how your day is going son has been so helpful being here. This is Football
day for him and hubby they will have all the food one can eat and a great football game.

I was with hubby from late morning and just arrived home feeling tired but in a good way. Hubby was dressed and happy that the Rehab had reached out to family and friends on this glorious occasion.The two of us had a table all to ourselves. The decorations were minimal. The piano no where to be seen and I felt that music would have brought everyone together and would have been a great highlight for dinner. There were smiles everywhere. However, I was disappointed in the food choice. They served two thin slices of pork with rice and broccoli. No cheese and crackers. No soup on a rainy day. And no dessert. The drink of the day was pineapple juice. However, the best part of the meal was being with hubby. Dinner later was cold macaroni and cold beans (uncooked). I immediately left the Rehab and went directly to our favorite Asian takeout. It was a good decision. Traffic was non existent and the lights were in my favor all day. I finally managed to clean the drawers on hubby’s side of the dresser. Yes, I brought Clean Boss and hubby loved the scent. Fell asleep in the chair and just arrived home a few minutes ago.

I was very happy with the restaurant pick this year for Christmas Eve.
Finally! It was a well controlled full restaurant, with lots of staff and good food.
Been back to hiking, just from a different entry point. It’s a busier entry point with dog walkers, casual bikers and runners. It’s going to work out fine as I have a revised loop and it’s still partially the same. Hopefully I wont run into the critters on the busier side.
Hope Oodie’s Husband got to play the piano.
