Conversation – 21
Good Day Peeps in our Wonderful Community this is Thread number 21 of the Conversation Series. 😎😉
I created and started this thread nearly 10 years ago.
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please stay safe. 🌹✨😎

I am finding that the purchases at Aldi’s is becoming less and less. The tomato sauce was in a glass jar and seemed ok upon opening. It actually smelled fresh and the date on it was new and I still had time before the expiration. I have dumped all of Aldi’s tomato and spaghetti sauces. The only items I will now purchase will be refrigerated. Their fruits and veggies tend to spoil within two days even with a brand new frig. I still read all their labels due to my sulfite allergy. Cinnamon is a new one for me. I surmise that I have been spoiled by the Amish and their fresh Farmer’s Market. They have fresh and frozen turkeys for $2.99/lb without preservatives. Not sure if I will make my own or order out. It will depend upon what we end up doing to say sayonara to the varmints.
We have been very fortunate to have visited a few Asian countries. We have been to Taipei, Singapore, Bangkok, China and Hong Kong. Thailand as is Hong Kong is hustle and bustle, but what a delightful place. Hubby still grimaces when I enjoy clams from the yellow sea at an outdoor market (alled Nathan’s). It’s made on an open grill and is a delight . Love the way the Asians design clothes. They take your measurements and what ever you order is ready within a few hours. Of course you have fittings along the way. Singapore is very clean. You can get arrested for littering so there are receptacles at every street corner. Taipei is the safest, though you would not see it that way. I remember the day we arrived. Had no time for any meals and by eleven at night I was starved. Hubby was already in PJs and in bed. It still was a long time to breakfast and I didn’t think I could hold out that long. Told hubby I was leaving to find food. He didn’t want me venturing out alone so got dressed again. Restaurants were closed so we decided to hike behind the hotel. Many streets leading to other avenues and side roads. All of a sudden we came across someone cooking food in a huge hibachi. The aroma permeated the area. It smelled so good that we went inside. It was a small restaurant with tables. The lady came inside (she was the chef outside) and asked if we were hungry. We nodded YES. She made us a meal to this day no one can come close to. Gave us a pitcher of beer on the house. The entire meal came to $2 for the two of us. It was her first time seeing an American and she went all out. One of her customers showed us the way back to our hotel. This particular trip was a 6 week vacation. What fun……Worse part was that the trip from beginning to end took 27-30 hours. Flight was 12-14 hours depending upon down drafts. In Taipei we were treated as king & queen. You could virtually walk anywhere and not be frightened. Hong Kong markets gave us an insight to Chinese opera. Very unusual. But the ribbon dance floored us. We never visited the theater. Why not skip it when you have it at the market. Loads of good memories. If we decide to go that route again, it will be a cruise probably from Hawaii. Of course, since our trip, things have changed and not for the better.
Hope you and your family start feeling better and are able to enjoy a great Thanksgiving.

Oodie, I will look forward to hearing about your future travels, especially Asia. I have never been to an Asian Country.
Sorry about the scabies, no excuse for it at all. You might report the issue to the governing Health Agencies and Medicare but sadly my experience with this did not yield results. All they do is an inspection and possible fine if the issue is not resolved upon a future inspection and the Gov Agencies who manage these places were not responsive. How did you buy the Aldi’s tomato sauce? Was it a fresh sauce or a glass jar on the shelf?
Hope you continue to feel better. -
Sheba, Very funny about your girls not feeling well. I missed what happened to Xango. Did she fall? Hope she is doing better.
Decided to order take away and add some other side dishes. You and Oodie called it! Thanks.
Today I hiked with a friend we haven’t seen each other for about 2 months so it was great to catch up. Tomorrow I hope to go on my own and do a longer harder hike.
Even though I need a break from Flying (due to being in the actual plane), there were improvements from last year’s airport travel as far as people processing. No one pushed into my chest at full speed, and a new escalator was added to a location that used to only have steps ( we carried our luggage up it last year). I almost feel spoiled. haha.
Hope you have a great evening. -
Love it.

I tried to post during the time I was with hubby, but ran into a snag and gave up. Hubby was good tonight and he did remember our conversation from yesterday. He is still very itchy though the bumps are down and the color is beginning to change or should I say it is no longer red. I did say something to the nurse who is on duty and it’s a catch 22. They need to have a physician take a look and also to do a culture. Have no idea when that will occur. So, tomorrow I will again try to touch basis with the head nurse.
I arrived at the rehab just as the dinner tray was delivered. Hubby didn’t want it, though the smell was delicious. However, the look, not so good. I gave hubby two fork fulls, one of something in gravy and I have no idea what the other thing was. Suffice to say hubby snubbed his nose on this and only kept the dessert of ice cream and iced tea. So, we decided that tonight was a good time for pizza. I ordered the Hawaiian with garlic knots. Did everything on line and it arrived 45 minutes later. We were both happy. The pizza and garlic knots are gone. No leftovers.
I am beginning to feel better. The h ouse is beginning to take shape, though it is a very slow process. The men started to work under the house and found where the culprits are coming from. There is a huge nest in our crawl space and I am thinking that tenting the house may be a wuick way to get rid of the varmints. This is not due to anything we have done. It seems that everytime the A/C people check everything they do not put anything back where it belongs. Consequently, any opening is a door for the animals to go in and out. If I do tent, that would mean that everything will now have a film over it (clothes included) and I will be starting again from scratch. Anthing that has been cleaned and put away will have to be redone. Not sure if I am up to that task. Tomorrow we will make a final decision. I will be contacting both Terminix and our Wildlife people to help in the decision making. Tenting will kill everything including our indoor plants (they will go in our van or go next door). What a mess…….
