Conversation – 20

  • Sheba2011
  • 08.24.23 4:50 PM

Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is number 20 out of the
series. I created and started this thread nearly 10 years ago.
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎

I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe. 🌹✨😎

      At the Zoo
      Song by Simon & Garfunkel

Someone told me it’s all happening at the zoo
      I do believe it
      I do believe it’s true
It’s a light and tumble journey
From the East Side to the park
Just a fine and fancy ramble
      To the zoo
But you can take the crosstown bus
If it’s raining or it’s cold
And the animals will love it if you do
      If you do, now
Somethin’ tells me it’s all happening at the zoo
      I do believe it
      I do believe it’s true
      The monkeys stand for honesty
      Giraffes are insincere
And the elephants are kindly but they’re dumb
      Orangutans are skeptical
      Of changes in their cages
And the zookeeper is very fond of rum
      Zebras are reactionaries
      Antelopes are missionaries
      Pigeons plot in secrecy
      And hamsters turn on frequently
What a gas, you gotta come and see
      At the zoo
      At the zoo
      At the zoo
      At the zoo
      At the zoo

      Club Tropicana
      Song by Wham!

Let me take you to the place where membership’s a smiling face
      Brush shoulders with the stars
Where strangers take you by the hand
And welcome you to wonderland from beneath their panamas
      Club Tropicana, drinks are free
Fun and sunshine, there’s enough for everyone
All that’s missing is the sea
But don’t worry, you can suntan
      Castaways and lovers meet
      Then kiss in Tropicana’s heat
Watch the waves break on the bay
Oh, soft white sands, a blue lagoon
      Cocktail time, a summer’s tune
      A whole night’s holiday
      Club Tropicana, drinks are free
Fun and sunshine, there’s enough for everyone
All that’s missing is the sea
But don’t worry, you can suntan
      Club Tropicana, drinks are free
Fun and sunshine, there’s enough for everyone
All that’s missing is the sea
But don’t worry, you can suntan
      Pack your bags
      And leave tonight
      Don’t take your time
Gotta move your feet, don’t you miss the flight
      Pack your bags
      And leave tonight
      Don’t take your time
Gotta move your feet, don’t you miss the flight
      (Cool, cool)

      @xango,

Good afternoon in sunny Florida. 😎💕I hope you and your husband had a great
      Anniversary Week. 💕

What are you cooking today? I would love to share a meal with you.

Hey welcome to Fall I hopes it makes a difference in Florida.

How is the family in Brazil? Oz will rain all day and I don’t have a problem with that. 💕
Xango right now it is dark and wet. Poppy had a good time in the rain. LOL!

      @oodiebom,

Good day on the Gulf Coast of Florida. 😎How are things going today?
Oodie when will the hospital release your husband back to Rehab?

I know questions and more questions just want to make sure you are alright too.

I hope the A/C is fixed or will be soon. I hate you being alone in all of this.
Trivia was fun last night and you have people who really appreciate what you
do every Friday. I am glad you will keep it going in some way. 😘

Let me know how your husband is doing I am very concerned. Did I read it right
that you or anyone else can no longer bring food to the Rehab. I get the concern
but what if you are sharing a meal and you are there to make sure all goes well.

Hubby needs to come home as soon as he can. 💕

Oodie welcome to fall and I hope it makes a difference in your weather. Oz is raining
and very wet it will be like this all day.

      • OODIEBOM
      • 09.23.23 10:09 PM

      @sheba2011

I am at the hospital. Hubby is doing a bit better. He is enjoying the food which is delivered hot. I do not need to supplement. It’s a mini vacation for me. Tonight was beef strips with mashed potatoes. Lunch was a small cheese pizza which he was enjoying when I arrived. It was still warm since lunch was served long before my arrival. I have no idea when he will return to rehab. At some point they will do the tests for the surgical procedure in November. He is still having problems swallowing. I did cut the meat in small pieces and he still had a coughing fit . This could still be from the pneumonia. He is now resting. Visiting hour will be over in an hour.

I have to say that the nurses are very attentive. No need to ring the buzzer.

Weather has changed. Temps the last few days have been in the low 80s. With night highs in the low 70s. Tomorrow back to the 90s with high humidity. Rain expected Monday. Then back to the
      Cooler temps.

      • Sheba2011
      • 09.24.23 2:08 AM

      @oodiebom,

Good evening by the time you read this post you will be home and I hope resting.

Yom Kippur is around the corner and I hope you and your husband can share it.

Oodie I am surprised your husband is still in the hospital and that may not be to bad.
The Hospital has the labs and the staff to get to whatever the problem is. I wish his surgery
was a bit sooner but at least he is getting excellent care.

I hope he ask for double with his meals that is one way to make sure he has enough.

I would lay back tonight after a nice shower and read a good book on your Kindle or whatever
you desire. I am praying for both you and your husband.

      • 09.24.23 4:06 AM

Oodie, sounds like your hubs is getting some good food and has some attentive professionals around him.
A few years ago I took a First Aid class, and she covered choking. She said her friend choked on a piece of Steak at a restaurant and she had to use the Heimlich maneuver on her.
Crazy, and the woman was early 30’s, Reminds me maybe I should take another class soon.

      • OODIEBOM
      • 09.24.23 3:47 AM

      @sheba2011

I must tell you that hubby’s pizza was huge. I arrived at the hospital around 4:15. A little later than I anticipated because of a sulfite attack. Actually, I almost didn’t make it and I had contacted the nurse’s station to give them a high sign. This was all due to a garden salad I ordered along with a small pizza. I should have known better since the pizza was not the usual way this restaurant makes them and their salad. I am still trying to figure that one out.

Hubby was asleep when I got there. He had eaten a full breakfast and the lunch I mentioned was still on his table fully covered. I have to admit that his pizza looked better than the one I ordered last night. I found out that he had had a fitful night. I sort of woke him up to eat his lunch . He tried the pizza and it was still warm. The food here is nothing like what he gets at the rehab. He is enjoying every morsel. It’s the hospital where I cannot bring any food for the patient, though, if hubby wasn’t eating, then that may be necessary. I can still supplement at the rehab. I tasted the meat after cutting it up into small pieces. I was a bit chewy but very tasty. The spices they used made the meal quite palatable. He had a coughing fit and had to stop eating altogether. The nurse said she would tell the night nurses to try to bring him some ice cream later. That certainly will help soothe the area. However, hubby says he doesn’t have pain when swallowing. Then maybe it’s the cough that is left over from the pneumonia. After I leave, he will have a sponge bath and change of the hospital nighty along with clean linens and blankets. He will also get a warm blanket. The one thing I am concerned with is his blood pressure which was around 96 97 and the other up a bit more than that. The nurse felt that it was OK since he was sleeping. He is also on oxygen. He seemed to do better with the C-pak and the nurses agreed. Some of his problem may be a sleep disorder and they will have a neurologist check him.

Tomorrow, on the way to the hospital, I will be stopping at Costco. The van needs gas. The one thing I must say is that the last couple of days hubby’s mind has been wonderful and his short term memory is getting better each day. Somehow I think that the C-pak really does help with this situation. I’m beginning to think that he may need more oxygen at night. I think while I am at Costco I will pick up something for the nurses. I have my eyes on the tiny brownies in the bakery section.

I will see how hubby is doing tomorrow before we think about Yom Kippur . I have a feeling we will miss Kol Nidre since I need to be out of the room by 7 pm. Monday the services end around 8pm/8:30pm depending upon the hour of sunset. I will play Monday by ear.

Hope you are having a great evening. Guess you walked between the raindrops with Poppy. Enjoy Autumn. My favorite happens to be winter and spring.

Good Morning in S. California enjoy the first day of Fall. 💕😎
Taci hubby got me the entire HD Suite because I have had a heck of a year.
My husband used to watch a lot of Heidi Daus here on HSN. 💕 Hubby loves
Heidi Daus Designs as well as me and I certainly have a lot for him to look at especially
when I am wearing her pieces.

I miss the Sparkle Sisters like you and that was a great Thread. 💕

Sheba, Cheers to a better year 2024 for you! It’s right around the corner and will be here soon.
Awesome set and perfect season to wear it.
The sun finally came out here. Ran a few errands and then hiked. One rattler on the path, that makes 2 for the week. My new announcement system is to shake a plastic container of sugar free mentos. It works so well. The bunnies hear me coming too. There are quite a few and their behavior is interesting. They hear me and then jet out where I am walking to cross the path, why?
I think they are babies, and I am happy to see them.
      Have a good evening!

      Common Fears

Our minds are powerful, and moving into fear is a common experience that we can each look at and change.

Everyone has fears — it is a natural part of being human. Fear can protect us from harm by sending a rush of adrenaline to help us physically deal with potential danger. But there are times when fear may keep us from participating fully in life. Once we realize that fear is a state of mind, we can choose to face our fears, change our minds, and create the life we want to live.

Our minds are powerful tools to be used by our higher selves; like computers, storing and using data to make certain connections between thought and response. We have the ability to observe these and choose differently. No matter where the fear came from, we can create new connections by choosing new thoughts. When our souls and minds are in alignment, we create a new experience of reality. This journey requires many small steps, as well as patience and courage through the process. Here’s an example: You decide to overcome your fear of driving on the freeway. Your plan of action starts with examining your thoughts and finding a new way of seeing the situation. When you’re ready, you enlist a calm companion to support you as you take the first step of merging into the slow lane and using the first exit. Your heart may be racing, but your confidence will be boosted by the accomplishment. Repeat this until you are comfortable, with or without help, and then drive one exit further. When you are ready, you can try driving in the middle lane, for longer periods each time, until you find yourself going where you want to go. This gradual process is similar for conquering any fear, but if you find it overwhelming, you can always seek the help of a professional.

You may think that you are the only one with a particular fear, that nobody else could possibly be scared of ordinary things such as water, heights, public speaking, or flying. These types of fears are very common, and you can have great success overcoming them. Remember, it is not the absence of the fear but the courage to take action anyway that determines success. When we learn to face our fears, we learn to observe our thoughts and feelings but not be ruled by them. Instead we choose how to shape the lives we want. AMEN! ✨✨😎

Love the fall colors in the set. Was this for any occasion or just because?
I have been wearing a smaller gold earring set with 2 stones that hubs bought me a long time ago and he didn’t notice. I said ‘look you like’ and he’s doesn’t even remember buying them.
🙂 It is a bit funny to me and he is a wonderful hubs. Now you know why I joined the Sparkle Sisters way back when, just not his thing. haha. It’s all good.

Good afternoon to you. That is a lovely fall picture.🍁🍂 Hubs feeling a little better, still coughing and his voice is raspy but hanging in there, me too!

Wore a mask in mom’s house, she asked me why. I told her about hubs having covid two days ago. She said she is around more people than me, God love her. She is right with all her lunches, dinners, get togethers and trips but how many have recent positive tests for proof? She didn’t say any more but that’s why she is 93. Never gets any shots and never worries about it. The doctor tells her to come back in six months and she says 8-10 months, lol!🙄

We’ve had absolutely gorgeous weather the last two weeks. Hope the heavens don’t come crashing down and we miss fall and go right into winter. I guess it’s always something, too hot, too cold, too dry, too wet. Poppy must be wearing his rain booties on your walks, love it!🤗💖

I spoke to the head nurse last night and they had taken the C-Pak off. Hubby was awake and surprising, quite alert. He ate some of his dinner, so I now know he is on the right road. He will have the tests completed for the required surgery in November. The urologist was there yesterday and not only checked hubby, but changed the catheter. There were other questions as well that I could not answer. I surmise the urologist will be returning sometime today as well.

I have two appointments I am waiting on. They are both Terminix and I did not want to cancel. I need to know where these animals are coming from so I can start giving the house the thorough cleaning it needs before hubby returns here.

For the first time in months I was able to get a good night’s sleep in bed. Awoke at 2am and found that I had not shut some of the lights, so did so. Went back to bed and awoke after 10 am.

Still not sure about Trivia, but will start if off before I leave. I will try to show up.

      Trusting Your Gut

Part of being an intuitive person is becoming in tune with, and trusting, your power center.

Gut feelings earn their name from the place in the body where they make themselves known. A pang in your gut when you may be doing the wrong thing, or a vibrant zing when your body approves, can guide you reliably at times when logic fails. Sometimes, when logic prevails, we ignore our gut and live to regret it, understanding later that a rational approach is only one way of determining what is going on in a situation and how we should react.

Our gut resides in the neighborhood of our solar plexus and the third chakra just above your belly button. When it is functioning well, we can trust its guidance and adjust our actions accordingly. Many of us have a tendency to hold in this area of our bodies. We may take shallow breaths that never reach this vital nexus that is the source of our empowerment. It is in this place that we find the courage to act, to reach out into the world and create change. When our power center is out of balance, we are timid and out of sync, wishing we had said something we were only able to phrase later when we were alone; wishing we had acted on an opportunity we didn’t see until it was past.

In order to utilize your power center, you may want to focus your attention on it more regularly and make time to care for it. You can begin right now by taking a deep breath into your belly. On the exhale, pull your navel in toward your spine so as to empty out completely before taking another deep breath into your belly. When you empty completely, you release stagnant energy and create more space to be filled with fresh, nourishing breath. The more you practice this simple, cleansing exercise, the more clear and communicative your gut feelings will be and the more comfortable you will feel acting on them. AMEN! 😎

Hello, thanks for the lovely ladybugs. Hubby and I were just talking this afternoon about how I haven’t seen any this year. Don’t know if it’s because of the extreme heat we have this Summer.
The milkweed did have and still does have lots of milkweed beetles.
Looked around today and there’s a few caterpillars on the milkweed. And to my surprise I found two on my Aruda plant. They weren’t eating it, I think it’s going into a cocoon mode into metamorphosis.

Hubby and I had a big day today, I’ll tell you about that some other time.
I am concerned about Oodiebom’s husband, praying for him to get better.

      @sheba2011

Between 1 pm and 2 pm the head nurse phoned for background information. At that point husband was doing good. I gave her as much health history as I could. They have a C-Pak on him and he is comfortable. I left around 3 pm. Guess it’s still summer in Florida. Road construction and plenty of detours. It took me quite a while to circumvent everything. Tomorrow I will use the same route for the hospital as I do for the rehab. In a sense, it is a shorter drive. I will need to use a similar route next week for my doctor appointment. And speaking of that, they called to confirm the appointment. At least it is an hour later than I thought and that is a good thing. I will be able to sleep a bit longer.

I finally got to see hubby. He is in a room with another patient. His coloring is good, but I have never seen him sleep so much. I cannot begin to tell you how concern I am. I thought I saw a rainbow on one of the computer screens near his bedside, but not sure. The nurse did bring him something for dinner. Looked like egg salad on wheat bread with potato salad and dessert was pudding. The nurse I spoke with says he has been awake several times, but not for long. The best thing is that the head nurse sent him to the hospital. And I am glad he did. He made the right call. And, yes, I phoned him just a few minutes ago and told him so. What happened is not that unusual for him. Hubby has a very narrow esophagus. I assume he was born that way. I also assume as we age, we forget some of the little things we had no problem with. In his case it is eating an apple. He has to learn to take small bites. Chew it well. Then swallow. I reminded him of that when I left last night. He had to be really hungry. And what occurred is that he took many tiny bites and it got caught. He was sent to the hospital to make sure that his lungs were clear and that there was nothing lodged in his throat. The urologist was called in and inserted a new catheter. All vitals are OK. though they are low. Could be because he is sleeping and the room is cold. Guess I will bring my lap quilt with me tomorrow. Maybe a sweater as well. I surmise the cold is to keep the Covid away. Funny, the hospital has the same type of A/C vent as the rehab. Above the head. He knew I was there. He sort of nodded. He tried to speak, and I said “save your energy,” tomorrow will be better.” I hope I'[m right. I will repeat myself. I am really scared. That’s all I can say.

Thank you so much for your concern. Hope all is ok with you guys.

I forgot to mention that the best thing II now use on a cruise is Gosling Diet Ginger Beer.. Notice I said DIET. It has no alcohol and therefore no problem taking it on board. I pack 2or 3 cans. For me this is better than dramamine. I also bring saltine crackers. But since using this drink not necessary. Also, on the LidoDeck I always check their tea bags and invariably there are a couple that look good. I take them to our state room and leave a note for the Stewart asking for hot water and also ice water for taking daily vitamins. If you ever decide to take a cruise try a three to five day . you just may enjoy it.

      Planting the Seeds of Generosity

One way to practice generosity is to give energy where it is needed, whether that is in the form of time, money or love.

The most difficult time to be generous is when we ourselves are feeling poor. While some of us have experienced actually being in the red financially, there are those of us who would feel broke even if we had a million dollars in the bank. Either way, as the old adage goes, it is always in giving that we receive. Meaning that when we are living in a state of lack, the very gesture we may least want to give is the very act that could help us create the abundance that we seek. One way to practice generosity is to give energy where it is needed. Giving money to a cause or person in need is one way to give energy. Giving attention, love, or a smile to another person are other acts of giving that we can offer. After all, there are people all over the world that are hungry for love.

Sometimes when we practice generosity, we practice it conditionally. We might be expecting to “receive back” from the person to whom we gave. We might even become angry or resentful if that person doesn’t reciprocate. However, trust in the natural flow of energy, and you will find yourself practicing generosity with no strings attached. This is the purest form of giving. Remember that what you send out will always come back to you. Selflessly help a friend in need without expecting them to return the same favor in the same way, and know that you, too, will receive that support from the universe when you need it. Besides, while giving conditionally creates stress (because we are waiting with an invisible balance sheet to receive our due), giving unconditionally creates and generates abundance. We give freely, because we trust that there is always an unlimited supply.

Being aware of how much we are always supported by the universe is one of the keys to abundance and generosity. Consciously remember the times you’ve received support from expected and unexpected sources. Remember anyone who has helped you when you’ve needed it most, and bless all situations that come into your life for the lessons and gifts they bring you. Remember that all things given and received emanate from generosity. Giving is an act of gratitude. Good afternoon on the Gulf Coast of Florida. Oodie is everything alright? I hope the
      A/C is fixed.

How is your husband doing so far today? I know he wants to come home who can blame
him. Good luck with all your shopping and making his favorite meals. 😘💕

Oodie your husband hit the jackpot too. Oz will have some rain later today.

      @sheba2011

Hubby was in good spirits. He was in the wheelchair sitting behind his table. He ate his dinner and wasn’t hungry for snacks, though he did have an apple while I was there. It became quite cold in his room because of the A/C and I could tell he was shivering. Thankfully, the LPN came in to check on him and got him ready for bed. It was just after 7:30 pm. An hour later I left for home.

t ws raining when I left the rehab. Just about 12 hours earlier I heard several claps of thunder and we had quite a rainstorm. The rain was gently falling as I drove home. I left hubby with two apples and 2 sickle pears and a few Italian plums. Again, I fell asleep at the computer and awoke around 4 am and went to bed. The phone rang between 6am and 7am from rehab. This time the head nurse phoned to say hubby was sent to the hospital. He loves the honey crisp apples and unfortunately a piece got lodged in his throat. He managed to get it out, but the head nurse wanted to be sure so sent him for x-rays. I just had a phone call that he is being observed and gave some medi cal history. He is OK, but for now, he is on a liquid diet. Visiting hours are only to 7 pm so I will be getting a move on shortly. I also mentioned that is is scheduled for surgery the end of November and is supposed to go through the pre-op testing next week. They will do that part before he returns to rehab. Yeah at least he won’t have to return next week at 7 am.

I am OK. Just tired. The hospital is about five miles and that’s the one where I have 14 traffic lights, one stop sign and one horrible train tracks to go over. Those train tracks are horrid. No matter how slow you go, the cars sway side to side. Thus the reason for taking an alternate route to the rehab which is faster. Anyway, you now have the full story. Up until now he was fine. Memory was good also. I have no idea what I will see when I get to the hospital and to his room. I will update as soon as I can.

      @sheba2011

I am OK. For him to down that bite of an apple he had to be real hungry. This is the main reason why I bring him snacks and meals. I will have a small reprieve while he is being watched at the hospital. I’m not permitted to bring food or drinks with me. I just hope and pray that he is coherent. They will need to keep his sugar in line and I did mention that. I will update at today’s thread when I return. If he is still in the hospital tomorrow I will be able to start Trivia and stay for awhile. The game will keep me alert. If he is back at rehab, I will stay for awhile and get you started before leaving. Either way, I will let you know.

Oh how I wish I could get some sleep. If I sleep now, I will miss the opportunity to see hubby. I need to be out of the room by 7 pm. I need to be there with him. Talk to you later.Promise

      Beautiful butterfly pictures, love them!🦋

Thought this was going to be a calm week……not!! Husband tested positive for covid AGAIN. I tested negative – so far. Now I will have to wear a mask when I go to mom’s until hubs is over this.😷 He belongs to three different gyms so I am not surprised. Just one more thing to worry about. I wanted to get my flu shot next week so we shall see.

You are definitely Mrs. Doolittle with your menagerie. You can never move because they all depend on you. That was always my concern when we would go away. Even though we had friends watch our pooches, no one watched them like me.👀 Great that your son will be there.

Pie turned out good, half is already gone.🥧 Getting ready to throw something together for dinner. Hugs to you, Poppy and the kitties.🤗💖

      Grounding Ourselves

As a human being living on earth, it is important to learn to ground yourself in relation to your earth mother.

We often hear people telling us to ground ourselves, but we may not be sure what that means and how we might do it. Grounding ourselves is a way of bringing ourselves literally back to earth. Some of us are more prone than others to essentially leaving our bodies and not being firmly rooted in our bodies. There’s nothing terribly wrong with this, but while we are living on the earth plane it is best to stay grounded in the body.

One of the easiest ways to ground ourselves is to bring our attention to our breath as it enters and leaves our bodies. After about 10 breaths, we will probably find that we feel much more connected to our physical selves. We might then bring our awareness to the sensations in our bodies, moving from our head down to our feet, exploring and inquiring. Just a few minutes of this can bring us home to bodies and to the earth, and this is what it means to ground ourselves.

We can go further by imagining that we have roots growing out of the bottoms of our feet, connecting us to the earth. The roots flow with us so we can always move, but at the same time they keep us grounded. We receive powerful energy from the earth just as we do from the forms of energy we associate with the sky, and our body is a tool that brings these two energies together in a sacred union. When we are grounded, we essentially become a strong container in which our spirits can safely and productively dwell. This is why grounding ourselves every day, especially at the beginning of the day, is such a beneficial practice. Fortunately, it’s as simple as bringing our conscious awareness to our bodies and the earth on which we walk. AMEN! 😎

      Cruel Summer
      Song by Bananarama

Hot summer streets and the pavements are burning
      I sit around
Trying to smile but the air is so heavy and dry
Strange voices are sayin’ (what did they say?)
      Things I can’t understand
It’s too close for comfort, this heat has got right out of hand
It’s a cruel, (cruel) cruel summer
Leavin’ me here on my own
      It’s a cruel, (it’s a cruel) cruel summer
      Now you’re gone
The city is crowded, my friends are away
      And I’m on my own
It’s too hot to handle, so I got to get up and go
It’s a cruel, (cruel) cruel summer
Leavin’ me here on my own
      It’s a cruel, (it’s a cruel) cruel summer
      Now you’re gone
      Gonna feel only it was
It’s a cruel, (cruel) cruel summer
(Leavin’ me) leavin’ me here on my own
      It’s a cruel, (it’s a cruel) cruel summer
      Now you’re gone
      It’s a cruel, cruel summer
Leaving me here on my own
      It’s a cruel, cruel summer
      Now you’re gone
      You’re not the only one
It’s a cruel, (cruel) cruel summer
(Leavin’ me) leavin’ me here on my own
      It’s a cruel, (it’s a cruel) cruel summer
      Now you’re gone
      You’re not the only one
It’s a cruel, (cruel) cruel summer
(Leavin’ me) leavin’ me here on my own
      It’s a cruel, (it’s a cruel) cruel summer
      Now you’re gone
      You’re not the only one

      Good Vibrations
      Song by The Beach Boys

I-I love the colorful clothes she wears
And the way the sunlight plays upon her hair
I hear the sound of a gentle word
On the wind that lifts her perfume through the air
      I’m pickin’ up good vibrations
She’s giving me the excitations (oom bop bop)
I’m pickin’ up good vibrations (good vibrations, oom bop bop)
She’s giving me the excitations (excitations, oom bop bop)
I’m pickin’ up good vibrations (oom bop bop)
She’s giving me the excitations (excitations, oom bop bop)
I’m pickin’ up good vibrations (oom bop bop)
She’s giving me the excitations (excitations)
Close my eyes, she’s somehow closer now
Softly smile, I know she must be kind
When I look in her eyes
She goes with me to a blossom world
      I’m pickin’ up good vibrations
She’s giving me excitations (oom bop bop)
I’m pickin’ up good vibrations (good vibrations, oom bop bop)
She’s giving me excitations (excitations, oom bop bop)
Good, good, good, good vibrations (oom bop bop)
She’s giving me excitations (excitations, oom bop bop)
Good, good, good, good vibrations (oom bop bop)
      She’s giving me excitations (excitations)
Ah, ah, my my, what elation
I don’t know where but she sends me there
Oh, my my, what a sensation
      Oh, my my, what elation
      Oh, my my, what
Gotta keep those lovin’ good vibrations a-happenin’ with her
Gotta keep those lovin’ good vibrations a-happenin’ with her
Gotta keep those lovin’ good vibrations a-happenin’
Good, good, good, good vibrations (oom bop bop)
She’s giving me the excitations (excitations, oom bop bop)
      I’m pickin’ up good vibrations
Na na na na na, na na na
Na na na na na, na na na (bop bop-bop-bop-bop, bop)
Do do do do do, do do do (bop bop-bop-bop-bop, bop)
Do do do do do, do do do (bop bop-bop-bop-bop, bop)

      Hot Fun in the Summertime
Song by Sly and the Family Stone

      End of the spring
      And here she comes back
      Hi, hi, hi, hi there
      Them summer days
      Those summer days
      That’s when I had
      Most of my fun, back
      Hi, hi, hi, hi there
      Them summer days
      Those summer days
I cloud nine when I want to
      Out of school, yeah
County fair in the country sun
      And everything is true
      Ooh, yeah, yeah
      Hot fun in the summertime
      Hot fun in the summertime
      Hot fun in the summertime
      Hot fun in the summertime
      First of the fall
      And then she goes back
      Bye, bye, bye, bye there
      Them summer days
      Those summer days
      Boop-boop-boop-boop
      When I want to
      Out of school
County fair in the country sun
      And everything is cool
      Ooh, yeah, yeah
Hot fun in the summertime (hey, hey, hey, ooh)
Hot fun in the summertime (ooh, yeah)
      Hot fun in the summertime

Hello, are you enjoying your cool weather? I’m sure you and Poppy are having fun walking in better temperatures.

The rains in Brazil continues, it has done damage to many. Just like in other parts of the World neighborhoods lost, business etc.

Hubby had forgotten he had registered for a online class for his new position.
A two day class, Tuesday and Wednesday, so those two days are taken.

I have collected lots of fresh Sage, drying some for the Winter. Also making Sage butter, it’s delicious on anything you like Sage with.

Happy37th Anniversary. Enjoy the day and the rest of the week. Wish your hubby congratulations on his new position. To be able to work from home and not have to fight the traffic on a daily basis is a welcome relief.

I did not see hubby today. Had a restless night and was very tired all afternoon. Decided not to drive and will be there early tomorrow. He is doing good. Cannot wait until he is home for good. Once he is home and settled I will be looking at a drive to Brandon. I miss the Asian Market MD Oriental Market). Hope your family in Brazil are OK. Prayers being sent .

Sheba, Hello, glad you have a lot of travel experience. It’s all changed so much in such a short time. You are going to have a good laugh but I was packing and trying different bags. Loaded my items into the travel purse and then I left my items inside it and ran out of the house to run my errands and hike. I had to come all the way back to get my wallet! I decided to use the Samantha Brown (TS) Tote as my under the seat bag. My items line up well, 2 rows of 2. The pouch will be my purse as well. The tote is lightweight.

Read about your feeding all the cats. That is so nice of you!

      @shoelady60,

Good day in the ‘burgh. Lady what a great idea about trapping the Racoon in a cage
and releasing it back into the woods. We do have some traps and I don’t want to trap
      anything but the racoon. 😎

The racoon likes to fight me so hubby take the BB Gun just to scare him off. The critter wants
to eat the cats food the food is not cheap because I use wet and dry food. My babies are
hungry when they come to me they signal me when they want a second plate of food.
We have a way of communicating the cats will stand against the wall on my front porch
and when I bring the second helpings they hide but I know where they are and when I go
in the house I look into the security camera and they hurry back and finish the food. The odd
thing is they know I can see them and will say a silent thank you by the way the stand then
they run off into the night. 😎💕I feed around five cats all regulars.

Lady when I am off to Colorado our son will come and take care of Poppy and the cats so
      that is covered.

Enjoy the visit with your mother and I hope your sister’s cold clears up soon.

      The Timeless Art of Yoga

Yoga is meditation in movement, where the union of breath and movement becomes a source of presence and awareness, allowing us to connect to our true divine essence.

In the realm of holistic practices, few can rival the longevity of yoga. With a history that stretches back thousands of years in India, this ancient discipline has captivated hearts and minds across the globe. Its popularity today speaks volumes to its transformative power.

At its heart, yoga is a spiritual system of self-discovery, enlightenment, and a path toward greater mind-body-soul connection, health, and inner balance. The physical expression of yoga, through its asanas, is just one branch of yoga’s deeply rooted, cultivated, and profound spiritual philosophy. And a branch that has borne an abundance of fruit! Over time, the embodied practice of yoga has evolved into various forms such as hatha, vinyasa, ashtanga, and more.

This physical practice of yoga has become increasingly popular in the West — perhaps because of the magic that lies in its harmonious combination of movement, breath, and mindfulness. Beyond the myriad physical benefits of yoga — greater strength, flexibility, energy, and improved posture, to name a few — it has tremendous emotional rewards, such as promoting relaxation, stress relief, and mental well-being. On the spiritual level, yoga is meditation in movement, where the union of breath and body becomes a source of presence and awareness, allowing us to connect to our true divine essence.

Yoga has no age limits. There are no prerequisites or even equipment needed — just an open mind and a space for your body to move. There are many varieties of yoga to choose from, gentle flows to more challenging styles. With open arms, yoga welcomes everyone to come as they are. It’s a fluid artform that you can easily build upon, from asana to asana, until you have a personal practice of your own that’s catered to your individual needs.

Start with a couple of asanas or poses. For example, Child’s pose is a simple and comforting way to calm your nervous system and center yourself. Close your eyes and breathe gently as you hold the pose, focusing inward. Downward Dog, great for relieving tension and stress, also gives you an excellent stretch and improved circulation. There are many asanas to draw from, each one with its own healing gifts to unlock. The beauty of a yoga practice is that it can grow and change with you, always meeting you wherever you are on your journey.

Hello Taci, thank you 😊. I love the water, love to swim. Enjoy the Ocean, but the slightest movement on the water in a boat I get terribly sick. Even on a cruise ship, I took a cruise with my mother in 1992, it was the Disney Big Red Boat. And then again in the early 2000’s with my hubby. It’s been a while since I took a cruise, haven’t been in the new gaint ships they have now.
      Enjoy your week Taci.

Hubby seems like he wants to go home and who can blame him I hope the food is helping
him. Oodie he seems to like your food a lot.

I love Paris and congrats on your necklace. Oddie you have such rich and wonderful memories
always keep them in your heart. I hope you and your husband are able to travel and Cruise
      again.

Here is to hoping the A/C Techs come soon. Oz is in the 70’s and I have all the windows open.
We have a nice breeze we should have rain tomorrow I sure hope so. 💕

Oodie how are you doing? Have you had your medical checkups? I am making plans for
a few but they are not due until December.

Yes my neighbor is so determined to go back to Greece. Oodie to travel so far and have a
bad fall that requires months in a hospital is a bit much. Let me tell you she will be going back
to Greece to finish what she started. All I can say is go girl.

Let me know how things are going for you today.

What a day this has been. Started out getting the garbage ready. I had put a couple of bags in the recycle bin so the animals wouldn’t pull them apart. As I was going down the outdoor stairs, the door closed behind me. Tried to turn the knob to the door and found I was locked out. Still was able to get the garbage into the container and then moved it to the area for pickup. Then went to my neighbor’s home and explained the situation. She drove me to the main office where they had a duplicate key and also some paperwork to complete since I was in the throws of redoing the front of the house and it needed to be approved by the HOA board. So, I managed to get back into the house completed the paperwork and used the van to return to the office. When I returned home decided to sit outside for a few minutes and while doing so it started to rain a bit. This is when I happened to look up at the new roof on the lanai and saw places where water was coming through. This is not the first time I saw that the inside of the lanai was wet. I just assumed it was the wind blowing through the screens. But, for some reason I had overlooked the fact that the water was puddling in the middle of the lanai and not at the edges. Tomorrow I will be contacting the building inspector to see if someone can take a look and give me the info I need. Now I wonder about the roof in our den. I do have roofers in mind, but want a professional to help with some answers so I don’t make the same mistake again.

I cannot get over hubby. He showed me tonight that he is able to bend one of his knees to fit atop the other knee. He has not been able to do this for months. The Head Nurse also told me that he will be starting physical therapy again, so maybe a ramp will not be needed. He goes for tests next week at the hospital which is necessary prior to the bladder surgery the end of November. My doctor’s appointment was cancelled because of the hurricane. It is now next week.

I have made the decision to purchase another mattress for the Master Bedroom. We both love the Stearn & Foster, but the size is too large in case he starts falling again. The mattress and box spring will go onto the bed in the guest bedroom so it won’t be a total loss. I discussed this with hubby today and though disappointed, he felt that would be the best decision. Before making that a permanent move, I will see how the mattress looks without the box spring. We are dealing with an extra two inches. I think that mattress is 14.5″ and others are 12″. I just need to see how close to the floor this one is. Definitely will also be looking for an airbed as a precaution rather than a bedrail and one I can hide under the bed.

I did stop at the Farmer’s Market. One of the items I picked up was a package of 6 bagels from NYC. They make their own lox and I also threw a container into the carriage with one Vidalia. The Market also makes their own cream cheese and I picked up the lox with cream cheese. When I arrived at the rehab and found hubby in the TV room after searching for a bit, I asked if he wanted an after dinner snack. Took out the bagel and added t he cream cheese with lox and the lox from the Market. A huge smile came across his face. His dad owned and operated a deli and he sold the NY water bagels in his store. Hubby said these were the best and the closest to the looks and flavor what they used to purchase. Chock one up for me, myself and I.

I forgot to mention that I picked up the Jersey Shore necklace and I wrote a review. Atlantic City was a place we used to frequent during my February vacation from school. The drive from our home to the area took many long hours, but so much fun while we were there. I used to love watching the waves hitting the piers while I was standing on the boardwalk. A couple of times we were there in the fall when the Miss America pageant was being held. On one of those trips Dad won a Polaroid Camera which is still in working condition today. Another time we were there was soon after recovering from having all wisdom teeth removed and then the next day found out I had the mumps as well. This may have been spring break. While gazing into the windows of the stores that were opened, I fell in love with a Teddy bear. This was one of the largest bears I ever set my eyes on. Little did I know that my parents had purchased him and was surprised to find him in our hotel room later that evening. I recently gave that bear to one of my family members for their child. Love that it is now with that family and they are taking real good care of him.

Here’s to safe travels. Here’s to a great time with tons of wonderful memories and pictures to ooh and ah over.

I can sympathize on the cruises. During my single days I took two single cruises. I was in.my cabin from day one. Dramamine was supposed to be my friend. Famous last words. I learned a lesson the hard way. Then came Florida and hubby wanted to cruise. So a friend found a five day adventure with two stops. I gave in. His wife and I spent the first 12hours in our room. Took the pills to no avail, but was able to down hot tea. After that I was fine and when we got off we four were planning the next one. We have enjoyed many adventures since then. The first night is sometimes the hardest and that is one reason we head to the Lido Deck for dinner. Great for leaving your sinus issues behind. Since I hate packing and unpacking so much we now find cruises that go 10 days or more. Someday give it another chance.

Good afternoon in Oz. Nice weather all week. This should be a much calmer week for me, I hope. Running to mom’s tomorrow and all day Friday. Baking a berry pie this afternoon🥧, hubs had a craving and I didn’t feel like driving to the store or bakery.

Talked to sis yesterday and she has a cold.🤧 At least she can relax and not have to run around for mom right now. My husband has one also so ’tis the season. Need to get my Fall wreath on the door this week.🍁🍂

You and Poppy tread lightly and carry a big stick!🦯 My husband caught a coon last week that was tearing up the yard.🦝 Puts the cage in his car and releases it in the woods a couple miles from home. I hope that’s it before winter. My two groundhogs are getting very chubby, I guess getting ready for hibernation.🦔

      Being Happy With Your Job

It is possible to find happiness in any job because what you do is often less important than how you do it.

In our search to define ourselves, we often look to our job to show us our worth. Society does not judge all professions equally, however, and it is not uncommon for the individuals who hold jobs that others may consider to be ordinary or menial to feel that they themselves are ordinary or menial. In truth, many wonderful and wise people throughout history have held what have typically been perceived as ordinary jobs, and this in no way has had any bearing on whether or not they have managed to contribute their skills and talents to the world. Whether you work in business, education, medicine, retail, or another profession, your worth is inherent to who you are and not what you do for a living.

A job that you enjoy that lets you meet your needs and allows you to live in accordance with your values will always be more gratifying than a high-status job that you dislike. But while experiencing professional satisfaction can be a vital part of being fulfilled by your work, it is important to remember that it is possible to find happiness in any job. This is because what you do is often less important than how you do it. Your attitude and intention can turn a mediocre job into work that fulfills you because of the way you approach it. If you do your job well and what you do benefits others, then you are doing work that is making this world a better place.

If you are happy in your current line of work and feel that it allows you to be yourself and live authentically while meeting your emotional and physical needs, allowing time for you to enjoy the fruits of your labor, then you have found a job that adds value to your life. If you are a waitress, then be the best waitress you can. Take pride in your work and others will notice your passion. You can contribute your talents and skills to this world while doing any job. It is not the kind of work you do that allows you to be of service. It is you who must choose to be of service through the work that you do. AMEN! 💕

Wishing you and hubby a Happy Anniversary. May you have an enjoyable day with good health not only on the day of, but always. Getting a new job offer which will make a drive almost non existent is a good thing and getting payment for something he totally enjoys a blessing.

Your honeymoon brought back many memories. Our day started out with sunshine and cool temps. Had my hair done and my bags were packed days in advance. When I returned we loaded the car and made my last trip as a single to the synagogue. I remember not eating anything that day. There wasn’t time. So, as I was getting dressed for the ceremony there came a knock on the door. It was my fiance bringing me a surprise of a plateful of hor doeuvres. I won’t say what my mother said about the surprise. Nor what she said about eating prior to the ceremony. My ears were blocked and I was that hungry. Actually, the caterer had made a plate of a few finger foods and little tea sandwiches. The ceremony and the day went by so fast. As we started off to the hotel near the airport, it was snowing and we weren’t sure if we would get off the ground. We spent five days in Puerto Rico and another five days in St.Thomas. Memories .It really seems like yesterday when we said the I do’s. Most importantly, the love and the friendship seems to grow with each passing day. Enjoy your day and then some. Stay safe and smiling.

I did type something last night and it went poof.

Hubby was out of it yesterday. If I didn’t know better, I could honestly say he had a few drinks. I wondered if the nurses had put something in the water. The first question I asked is if had eaten dinner. He shook his head no. He was so lethargic. I could not understand any words. They were so mumbled. I brought something just in case. However, the nurse came in to take a BP and gave him his pills. She mentioned that he had cleaned the plate and then some. Also as I arrived, the receptionist gave me an ear full. Hubby was in his wheelchair and wanted to go outside. Seems he needed to be in Hartford, Ct.. He wouldn’t take No for an answer. The final outcome was that she had to contact one of the nurses to return him to his room. I still do not know why he wanted to go to Hartford. I even asked him this evening. He just shrugged his shoulders.

Today I was there as his food was delivered. He had ff with a round piece of fish that was no more than 3 or 4″ wide. It was also on the thin side. Cole slaw also, which was no more than 2 tablespoons. The LPN came in just before I left. She completely undressed him and gave him a real nice sponge bath from head to toe. Got him ready for bed and changed the linens, blankets and pillows. I helped from the other end and then I left for home. Hubby was sound asleep before the clean blankets were on the bed.

I am hoping that the tech people will be here sometime this week. Tomorrow is garbage day and I have two huge bags ready. I have an alarm set to be up extra early. I never know what time they will be here for pickup. Suffice to say between 6 am and 2 pm. Though the weather report has stated rain for the last two weeks, we have received zero, denada. Of course, there is always Thursdays for garbage and recyclables.

I also was wondering about the Professor. WOW, back to teaching. Wonder if Greece will give her some incentives for next spring/summer. This would be helpful considering what she has been through for the past five or more months.

I did purchase the Paris necklace. I happened to be there just after meeting hubby on a blind date. The date didn’t go well. My mother mentioned that he had phoned while I was on an European trip. He asked that I phone when I return. I never did. Felt if he was interested he could contact me. We met again five years later. in my parent’s backyard. The rest is history.

On that note hope you enjoy the moon and stars tonight. It is on the cloudy side here. It may rain, though I think not.

Sheba, Awesome that Frankie Avalon called into the show. There’s a lot I don’t know about Bobbie Ray Carter, but 40 years is a wonderful achievement.
We are cloudy and damp and it will be like this for a while.
The good news is our solar is fixed, but with the clouds not producing too much.

Thanks for the update about your friend. Sounds like quite a fall.
Hope she can make up for all the lost time.

this trip. My daughter and sister are all going to Greece next summer.
