Conversation – 20

  • Sheba2011
  • 08.24.23 4:50 PM

Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is number 20 out of the
series. I created and started this thread nearly 10 years ago.
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎

I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe. 🌹✨😎

      Co-Creating with Nature

To co-create, we must first begin with a foundation of mutual respect.

Gardens offer us a perfect opportunity to reconnect to our true selves and remember our place in the natural world. Rather than approach our gardens as mere investments of energy, we can look at the entire process of gardening, from planting seeds to harvesting food, as a way of deepening our conscious relationship with the creative force of the universe. If we are willing to shift our intention from dominating, or at least directing nature, to co-creating with nature instead, we may discover a deep peace and renewed sense of wonder.

To co-create we must first begin with a foundation of mutual respect. As you create your garden in partnership with nature, you can respect the earth, water, insects and animals by using organic seeds, soil and fertilizers. You can also communicate with the plants, insects and elements involved in your garden, and create a regular practice of stillness to listen for any messages they may have for you. When it comes time for harvesting fresh vegetables or picking beautiful blooms, you might even ask permission first. If you ask with an open heart, you will always receive an answer.

Imagine what it would be like to surrender certain aspects of your human world to the precision and surety of the natural environment. You might decide, for example, to forego your calendar and plant in rhythm with the cycles of the moon. Or, you might choose to ignore clock time and water your garden when the sun hits a certain position in the sky. By opening your garden experience to more of nature’s input, you can become available to witness a whole universe of miracles, while engendering a greater sense of honor between the two worlds.

When we recognize ourselves as allies, co-creators, with the earth and the natural world, our relationship to our environment begins to change. We no longer feel the need to control the circumstances around us and can relish in the perfection of all that is. AMEN! ✨✨

Thanks for the new thread. Hope #20 works well and a little longer.🤞

Went to Olive Garden with mom and sis for our pasta fix.🍝 Ate too much, could hardly make it up the stairs. They are driving to Baltimore Saturday, cruise leaves on Sunday.🛳 If all goes as planned, they will be back here next Saturday.

Hope you and twinkle toes are taking it easy and staying cool. That perfect vision of my step-child warms my heart.💗 Hugs and love.🤗💖

      @shoelady60

Think your mom and sis shourd watch the tropics. Looks like the cruise may be a bit bumpy. Right now there is a tropical storm that may turn into a hurricane going towards Bermuda. If that’s the course, it will be there during their vacation. After last year I do not take anything for granted. They are nothing like the ones we see North.

      • 08.25.23 2:18 AM

Sheba, hello and good evening. Congratulations on #20!
(i know the glitch did it but it’s still a nice accomplishment )
It’s great your daughter is in Boston. Not sure if this is the one who was in HI as well but it’s great to travel at their age. I never even thought to do so at a younger age as I was always working back then to pay rent and all those LA cost of living expenses. My son did have some adventures and really enjoyed his trip. I think he wants to plan another trip soon.

Glad your youngest is out and about and recovered from Covid!

      • OODIEBOM
      • 08.25.23 8:10 AM

      @sheba2011

Just read that one of your daughter’s is spending a week in Boston. Boston is our old stomping grounds and hubby and I usually bus it from the Cape. We love walking around and seeing the new sights and oh yes, the old. The trip is only an hour and a half from Hyannis and should be shorter, but, always bumper to bumper traffic. There is always so much to see and do. Love Faneuil Hall which is part of Quincy Market. On Saturdays, across from Quincy, you have what is called Haymarket Square. It’s an all outdoor market where you can purchase fresh veggies, fruit, etc. In the afternoon you have the hawkers selling their wares. Prices go downward. In my college days, I used to go on Saturdays to purchase fruit and veggies and bring it back to t he dorm. I had a fire escape right outside my window and that is where I kept all my delicious items. It’s a wonder that they stayed out there without a problem from wild animals or birds. Then there is the Esplanade which leads you to the Charles River and to the “Shell.” The Boston Pops used to have a weekly show during the summer and sometimes in t he fall. I always enjoyed the Boston Gardens, though never partook of the swan boat ride. Tell your daughter that there are many that stand on a box of sorts and yak away all day. Boston Harbor have many fine restaurants. The smell of the sea abounds the area and the food is fresh and awesome. Oh how I miss Boston.

I still do not have a normal A/C, though today is the first time I have seen it below 80 in over a week. The techs have not been back and hopefully, they will today. I hope they make it early because I will be leaving here as soon as possible to be with hubby. Hubby also has an eye doctor appointment this morning. The ophthalmologist is there once per month. I left the MV forms with the head nurse for the physician to complete. One day next week I will make an appointment with the Optical Outlets for new frames for both of us.

Love the new furniture. Now looking for a loveseat to go with it. Now I will be able to read outside not only on the lanai, but also near our front door. It will be good to have visitors dropping in and have places to sit and have a good chat.

I think I finally have decided on a Microwave. Will take a look at my number one choice today and have it delivered and installed next week.

Have a great day. Not sure about Trivia. Someone may have to start it. This all depends upon how soon everyone shows up and I can leave and make a stop at the Farmer’s Market.

      @Sheba🌻🌻🌻🌻

Hello Sheba, I hope you are well.
Yesterday was so hot, walking outside felt like waking into an oven.
Today is somewhat cooler, humidity not so high.
I had a few more appointments, and Monday I have more.
We did get some rain, but it’s still very dry.
We put out some water, and some old fruits for the bunny and the Opossums.
Tonight I saw three baby Opossums and one baby bunny all eating together.

      Take care Sheba 🌹

Knowing When to Let Someone Go

Knowing when to end a relationship and acknowledging that the pain will pass can often prevent greater pain in the long run.

Just as a good relationship can have a positive impact on your life, stressful, draining, or imbalanced relationships can have negative effects on your health and well-being. It’s common to maintain a relationship because we feel the other person needs us or we believe that they will eventually change. We may also be afraid of hurting the other person or feel insecure in our ability to find new relationships. But knowing when to end a relationship and acknowledging that the pain will pass can often prevent greater pain and feelings of loss in the long run.

If you’re in a relationship that isn’t satisfying or one that has become unhealthy for you, rather than spending energy attempting to fix the problem or complaining, ask yourself what you really want from the relationship. Consider whether the other person truly considers your feelings or if they are willing to change their behavior. Ask yourself if you’ve often thought about ending the relationship or if you feel your bonds have atrophied. While every relationship has ups and downs, when there are more downs than ups or the two of you are bringing out the worst in each other, it may be time to sever the connection. Be honest with yourself and your answers, even if the truth is painful.

Relationships thrive on honesty, communication, mutual caring, and time spent together. When one or more of these elements are missing, it may be that the relationship, no matter how passionate, simply isn’t worth it. It’s far better to end a relationship that doesn’t feel right than to hold on to it and languish in feelings of anger or resentment. Moving on without struggle, on the other hand, can be the door that leads you to a more nurturing relationship in the future.

      AMEN! ✨✨

What a good crowd you had in Trivia tonight. Thanks for taking it over. If it’s any consolation, I am beginning to have some problems as well. The Wi-Fi goes in and out. RECAPTCHA keeps asking the same things over and over again. If it isn’t traffic lights, then it’s cars, or maybe bicycles are in your future. I think on each one I had to look at five or six different segments. A few of those pictures were horrid to look at. Too fuzzy, almost as if they wanted you to miss a picture or two.

Hubby has improved quite a bit. There is a huge difference between the time he started rehab and today. You cab actually see the fog lifting. Amazing.

I may not have A/C for another week. There is also a potential for either a tropical storm or hurricane for next week. I am watching the tropics and amazed how many storms are forming off the coast of Africa in the Atlantic.

I am now going to call it a night. I’m a little tired and I still need to go out to the car to bring the leftover meal into the house and refrigerator. Leftovers tomorrow for sure. Have a great evening and your walk with Poppy in the moonlight.

Sheba, just heard Bob Barker died on the radio. So sad.
Things are all good here Hurricane-wise. It was a mild tropical muggy storm, and not too bad here. Did you hear from your friend in Palm Springs?
It’s too hot for me to hike today. I’m going to read my book.
Sheba, hope your daughter is enjoying her vacation in Boston. Great your kids travel.
Speaking of your daughter traveling to Italy, an early fyi but I won’t be posting in October.
I am tired just thinking about it.
How’s Poppy and friends? Hope you get to CO soon.

      @taci,

Good evening yes I did hear from my Professor Friend and he is doing alright.
Taci we talked for over an hour today then he had to drive toward LA.
Palm Springs had so much rain coming the Mountains he said. The friend has a
swimming pool and was smart enough to put a drain in so when the pool fills to
capacity the drain let it flow into the sewer line.

A lot of people don’t have it done in that part of California because of the cost.
There was no damage to his property and he did see devastation in his area.
Also he said some Insurance Companies will drop some Policy Holders. Oh Snap!

Daughter’s friends lives near the Boston Harbor and they are going to P Island somewhere
      near Cape Cod tomorrow. ✨

I am planning our trip to Colorado almost and I will still post but I will be with my mother.💕🌹

I hope you have a great time in October my neighbor Professor is doing alright and she
has every intention of returning to Greece as soon as she heals and she said the plan is
to leave again in the spring she is still having walking issues you don’t do Europe and can’t
walk.✨ My sister lived in Germany with my nephew and she said those streets were
something else she had no issues because well she was and is younger. I had an older
friend an RN and she said she would not go back to Germany because of all the walking
and her brother and his wife live there.

My niece is at College in the Chicago area tender age of 17 years old and missing home
already I know my brother and his wife are having growing pains. Sigh I know exactly how
      they feel. 💕

Oz felt really nice today. 💕I finished Where The Crawdads Sing very good book. I have
Taylor Swift Soundtrack on my playlist. 💕✨I can sing that song just as well. 😎

      @sheba2011

Good afternoon. I did see hubby yesterday and he was in real good spirits. I brought two full freezer bags with me just in case. Yes, I made it to the Farmer’s Market and spent some time looking (more than an hour). They had something new in apples and bought a plastic container full. These were very tiny, almost the size of a crabapple, and of course very hesitant in a purchase. That was, until the manager of the market came around and explained that it was truly an apple and sweet. I also bought two 20 0unce containers of cubed watermelon that were on sale along with a container of honeydew. Also purchased a small container of mixed fruit and two ready made salads for me and a lobster roll (sweet and delicious). That was the beginning. Oh, they had the hot hot mango salsa. I needed a fix. Also found an Italian grinder for hubby that was full to the brim. Once I was done and paid for everything I put the items that needed refrigeration into the coolers. Again, thankfully, I had D-Best with me. To carry the load would have been impossible.

Hubby’s eyes popped when he saw the huge assortment. First thing he tried was the small container of fresh fruit. He ate almost the whole thing. Then he took a few bites of the grinder. But the watermelon stood out. No, he had to try the small apples. He loved them. So I put a few in a paper bowl for whenever. He was on cloud nine. And, as it turned out, he passed on dinner. I did have Kindle with me, but he was too absorbed with food. So I will bring it today.

Yes, I am watching the tropics. I think it’s Franklin who is heading towards Bermuda. It just may pass that area, but there is still a possibility of high winds and flooding. I did warn shoelady60. If anything, they may be in port when this thing hits, or else the cruise ship will be going elsewhere to avoid the storm. These are the months that I do not go anywhere, unless I’m in New England. I learned that lesson the hard way last year. And I am still frustrated with the roofer I had last year. No replies on my last dozen or so e-mails pertaining to the downspout and overhang on one side of the lanai. The lanai person should be here prior to the storm to at least install a downspout or two. –

Hope you have a great day. Stay cool.

      Carolina
      Song by Taylor Swift

      Oh, Carolina creeks
      Running through my veins
Lost I was born, lonesome I came
      Lonesome I’ll always stay
      Carolina knows
      Why for years I roam
Free as these birds, light as whispers
      Carolina knows
And you didn’t see me here
No, they never did see me here
      And she’s in my dreams
Into the mist, into the clouds
      Don’t leave
I make a fist, I’ll make it count
And there are places I will never ever go
And things that only Carolina will ever know
      Carolina stains
      On the dress she left
      Indelible scars, pivotal marks
Blue as the life she fled
      Carolina pines
      Won’t you cover me?
Hide me like robes down the back road
      Muddy these webs we weave
And you didn’t see me here
No, they never did see me
      And she’s in my dreams
Into the mist, into the clouds
      Don’t leave
I’ll make a fist, I’ll make it count
And there are places I will never ever go
And things that only Carolina will ever know
      Oh
      Oh
      Oh
And you didn’t see me here
They never did see me here
No, you didn’t see me here
      They never saw me
      Oh, Carolina knows
      Why for years they’ve said
That I was guilty as sin
And sleep in a ‘s bed
      But the sleep comes fast
      And I’ll meet no ghosts
It’s between me, the sand, and the sea
      Carolina knows

    The Summer Knows
    Song by Barbra Streisand

The summer smiles, the summer knows
And unashamed, she sheds her clothes
The summer smoothes the restless sky
And lovingly she warms the sand
    On which you lie
The summer knows, the summer’s wise
She sees the doubts within your eyes
And so she takes her summertime
Tells the moon to wait and the sun to linger
Twists the world ’round her summer finger
Lets you see the wonder of it all
And if you’ve learned your lesson well
There’s little more for her to tell
    One last caress
    It’s time to dress
    For fall
And if you’ve learned your lesson well
There’s little more for her to tell
    One last caress
    It’s time to dress
    For fall

Computer working a little better today, happy for that since I’m too tired to mess with it.😕

Lots of fun at the wedding yesterday. Great food, music, decorations and friends.👰🤵 Haven’t been to one in a while so something different for a change.

Talked to sis today, the cruise was changed from Bermuda to the Bahamas due to the hurricane. They don’t mind, mom and sis are just glad to be away.🛳 They’ve been to all the islands so sometimes they don’t even get off the ship. They are “go with the flow” people.😊

Looks like great weather for us most of the week. 70’s during the day and comfy at night.👍 Hope you are getting some of that also. I’m tired of the heat.🔥 Hugs to you and Poppy.🤗💖 Wonder how long it will take me to post this???

Sheba, Happy Sunday. Yes, I saw the note. glad your friend in PS is doing well. Maybe connecting to the sewer line wasn’t an option back in the day? It’s a great idea if you live with torrential downpours and what not. It’s hard for people here who live in certain areas to get fire insurance even when they have had it for decades or in some cases the price goes up significantly. Isn’t it much lighter later into the night in Boston?
Yesterday I watched a humming bird go to each pink flower in one of my pots. It was cool.

Never been to Greece but yes there is a lot of walking with these overseas vacations. Even if you don’t plan to walk one must walk to the train station, then going down steps, through windy door traps, more steps, more winding walking pathways, getting to the train etc… I didn’t see any older folks or handicapped but at one place there was a reserved car for pregnant people and strollers, elders, and handicapped. I even commented to hubs in Paris that we seemed to be one of the older people on the train and that one didn’t have lots of walking. I do about double my steps when traveling without trying, haha. Hubs says we will be a 15 minute walk from the train station, there will be steps, and it rains a few days a month in October. Lucky your sister lived in Germany and experienced it while younger. I bet they had some great times.

Boston is a delight. Looks like your daughter and friend picked a good day to take a boat ride to Provincetown. It’s the other end of the Cape and about an hour from my home depending upon traffic. So much to do and so much to see. Loads of shops to look for clothing or that right souvenir. Plenty of cafes to choose where to rest those weary feet. Do you remember Bill Green, one of the most revered hosts on HSN? I think he still goes to P*Town every year in July. Normally, hubby and I would take the van and drive down sometime after Labor Day to avoid the crowds. Actually, most places do close down after that weekend and then a few are opened year round. What I miss most on Cape are the sea breezes and opened windows. Oh yes, our deck which runs the length of the house. and the potted flowers and veggies.

I am now getting ready to return to the Rehab. I have things in the frig set up in such a way that it will be easy to get it all together in my small freezer bag. Not sure if I will need th “D-Best” today. Love that cart. Debating about another to use North when we finally get a move on. Enjoy your day and the cooler temps. Don’t forget to take your allergy meds if you are outdoors.

Oz is comfortable for a few days then it is back to triple digits. So the next couple of
      days I will enjoy.

Hello Sheba, I hope you and your husband had a good weekend.
Glad to hear your daughter did well and has gotten better from Covid.
We had a little rain today. But should be getting lots with the hurricane that’s on it’s way to the west coast of Florida. Ordered some groceries and water, just in case we lose power like last year. It’s still pretty far and it’s never a sure thing until it gets into the hot Florida waters. I hope Oodiebom is getting ready, it’s not something we should wait for the last minute.
I have an appointment tomorrow, getting some results.
The baby Opossums are getting a bit bigger, haven’t seen the baby or adult bunny.

      NATIONAL RED WINE DAY
On August 28th, National Red Wine Day ushers in the flavors of fall. As the grapes ripen and signal a time for warmer sips, wine drinkers know reds mean tailgating and spicy foods.

      National Red Wine Day
Throughout the year, wine days afford us the opportunity to taste and learn about the differences between wines. Earlier this month National Prosecco Day gave us the last bubbly rays of summer. Now we savor the best of the season with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot noir, Port, and Syrah.

      RAINBOW BRIDGE REMEMBRANCE DAY
Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day on August 28th sets aside a day to remember the pet companions we’ve lost.

      Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day
The death of a pet, whether furry, feathered, or an uncommon variety, is felt deeply. They become family and a familiar part of our lives. Mourning their death is different for everyone, and the observance provides a way to help heal the ache of loss.

The pain of loss is real. As each person travels through their grief, we remember the companionship and comfort they provided to us. Don’t forget that part of the relationship included care provided by you. The empty space left by the loss of a beloved pet is sometimes a difficult void to overcome.

Celebrate the home you provided and the joy your beloved pet brought you in return. When you are ready, you will know the time has arrived to find a new ‘critter’ to replace the emptiness felt. There are many animals yet to find a home. In time, you can be their new home. 💕

      When Doors Open

Our lives are the result of all the doors we have walked through, and our continued growth depends on our willingness to keep moving into new spaces.

When a door opens, walk through it. Trust that the door has opened for a reason and you have been guided to it. Sometimes we have a tendency to overanalyze or agonize over the decision, but it is quicker to simply go through the door and discover what’s there as that’s the only way to know. Even if it doesn’t seem right at first, opening this door may lead to another door that will take us where we need to go.

Doors open when the time is right for us to enter a new space, metaphorically speaking, and we can have faith that walking through is the right thing to do. Sometimes we linger in the threshold because we are afraid of leaving our old life for a life we know nothing about. We may have voices inside of our heads that try to hold us back or people in our lives saying discouraging things. These voices, internal and external, are known as threshold spirits, and they express all the fears and doubts that arise at the beginning of a new life. Nevertheless, none of these voices can hold us back, and they will fall silent as soon as we cross the threshold.

There are many doors that open in the course of our lives, leading us into new relationships, jobs, friendships, and creative inspirations. Our lives up to this point are the result of all the doors we have walked through, and our continued growth depends on our willingness to keep moving into new spaces. Every time we walk through an open door, we create a sense memory that encourages us to move into the new fearlessly. When we enter the new space, we almost always feel a thrill and a new feeling of confidence, in ourselves and in the universe. We have stepped across the threshold into a new life. AMEN! ✨✨

Received a phone call early this morning that hubby will be headed to Central Florida tomorrow morning. I spoke to the head nurse, and as of now, I have no idea where he will be in Central Fl.. All I hope for is that he will be safe. Next phone call a few hours ago was from my physician. My appointment for tomorrow has been cancelled until the end of this month. Oh well, I expected this but the next appointment not so far away Oh well. Tampa International Airport will be closing around midnight tomorrow and I have booked a hotel reservation for two nights. This is just in case the storm lasts longer than expected. I am watching the reports closely and will also fill the tank before visiting hubby. Right now I am OK. Just a wee bit nervous. Wouldn’t be so bad if hubby was with me. I now need to check the lanai and to bring in anything that can hurt the homes next door and across the lake. Still no A/C and maybe that’s a good thing since I will be shutting that down along with the overhead fans. I will send an update when I can. Guess we won’t be seeing the super blue moon.

      @sheba2011

Good morning. I am getting some things together for the overnight. Bringing some food items for snacks. I probably will stay one night instead of two since this storm will most likely be over and done with by Wednesday afternoon.

I did see hubby last night. Gosh, he was just three hours ago when I left. Filled the tank up on the way home. Hubby will be leaving the rehab center around 6 am or so today for a stay at another rehab facility in Orlando and will return sometime the next day. The Rehab overlooks the Manatee River and though it’s on the bay side, it’s considered to be in a flood zone. This is the first time that the two of us will be separated and he is not a happy person. If he had the ability to walk, he would be home. When this storm is over, I have decided to start with the cleaning process with the lanai and then work towards the carport. The rugs for outside have been rolled up in our living room for months and I need to see what they look like. The wicker furniture needs to be deep cleaned and this is the perfect opportunity to move them outside. I have a person that will come in and power wash the lanai and the carport. loopholes. The new table and chairs will be near the carport. I am now looking for either a settee or loveseat for the same area. It will be an area for getting together or for just the two of us to sit outside with a cold drink and a book.

Looks like the inside of the house will need to be recleaned as well. Oh well. At least I have the Clean Boss which will rid the rooms of germs and Covid. When the house is done, may take a look around for a special furry animal from a nearby shelter. Not sure at this time if it will be a dog or cat or one of each. It will be something to look forward to. My only concern will be the ride North and the return. But as you know I won’t be making that decision until the house is ready and the homeowners association gives the OK. Getting a pet is not that easy even if you have a disability. In my case, hearing loss. There are other alternatives that want me to try. One is having a light go off if someone is at the door or if the phone rings. But, what happens if you are not anywhere near that light source. I could be doing laundry or sitting on the lanai. Guess I will cross that bridge later.

Oh. Almost forgot. Something good happened today. I was removing the small things in front of the house when I felt something touch my forehead. I put my hand up and saw the most beautiful butterfly. It actually kissed my forehead and then flew away. I was hoping it would return, but did not. It was a Monarch. I have to admit that it was very peaceful and serene. It just fluttered across the street and then disappeared.

Guess I will get some shuteye and now that I know what I will bring, will take the overnighter and pack. D-Best is in the van and all set to go if I need it. I will use the Kindle so I can play the games and have fun with a jigsaw or two. I will also let everyone know how I am doing unless we lose electricity. Have a great today and a better tomorrow.

Good afternoon on the Gulf Coast of Florida. Oodie I am glad you got to see your husband.
I know he does not want to be away from you too long. I do hope you check into the hotel
for power and safety. I hate you being alone at a time like this. ✨🌹

Please check in when you can and let me know if you are at your home or in the Hotel.

Good morning in S. California I would stay indoors today. Enjoy a good book and hit
the trails when it cools down. 😎✨

Looks like Florida is going to get hit and I am just hoping no major damages.

Taci it is all over the news on every channel on the Telly. Prayers are with the people
      of Florida.

      What Makes People Tick?

Many people are very different from ourselves and coming to a place of acceptance can make the road easier.

All people have their own way of being in the world. It is easiest to comprehend this basic yet profound fact when we consider that every human being on the planet occupies a distinct role in the universe. We grow up in different environments, affected by a unique range of influences. The preferences, values, and beliefs we embrace are frequently related intimately to our origins. And the need to individualize our experiences is instinctive, as doing so enables us to cope when we must face challenges on our own. Consequently, each of us has developed a perspective that is uniquely ours. Interacting peacefully and constructively with people from all walks of life is a matter of first understanding where they are coming from. Then we can adjust our expectations so that we avoid making undue assumptions about what they are about.

In the face of emerging interpersonal conflict, it is easy to assume that others are being difficult, unreasonable, or stubborn. We are apt to grow frustrated when someone in our environment does not share our opinions or feel compelled to support us in our endeavors. It is likely that the individual or individuals before us may simply possess differing notions with regard to what is and what is not important in this life. We can ease the tension that exists between us by reaffirming our belief in the fundamental right of all beings to determine their own destinies. To foster a harmonious relationship, we need to do our best to relate to the unique universes they inhabit. And as we discover what makes them tick, our ability to find a mode of interaction that is pleasing to both of us is enhanced.

When there are barriers keeping you from connecting with someone else, think of questions you can ask them to gain a more thorough understanding of their point of view. You may discover that in addition to the differences in perspective dividing you, they are subject to insecurities and other personal issues that influence their way of seeing the world. It is likely that you will never fully grasp the myriad complexities embodied by humanity, but you can go a long way toward encouraging mutually satisfying relations by reaching out to others in the spirit of sympathetic comprehension. AMEN! ✨✨

Another watch the TV weather day. Seems never-ending this year with major events. I’m weary just watching let alone being part of it.😟 Saying lots of prayers.🙏 We are having a nice week but temps rising over the weekend, may hit 90’s by Monday.

Haven’t heard from mom and sis but probably tomorrow since they will be in port. I have a feeling they may have some rough waters on their return to Baltimore.😕

My neighbor across the road is having heart surgery on Friday so spent some time with him today on the pros and cons. Hope I made him feel better and offered a helping hand for whatever he and his wife may need.🤞

Hang in there, my friend. Prayers again for all our family and friends to our south.🙏💖🙏

      @sheba2011

I arrived at the hotel/motel around 2 pm after making a stop at the farmer’s market. Had a huge yen for a meatball grinder and it was on sale this week. Saw they also had a lobster sa!ad roll and could not resist. Happy person I am. Now have meals for two days. No cooking needed.😀😀😀

When I left home it was partly cloudy and continued to be that way when i arrived at the market.. As I exited the market a very light rain with dark clouds coming our way from the ocean. I had time to put everything in the car and be in the driver’s seat before the delugre. Good news it didn’t last long and I was able to see the road ahead without a problem.

Though the storm is following a similar path as ian, it does not carry the same punch. I do not expect any damage but one never knows until the return. It will be mainly a rain event. The wind will be no more than 50 mph at any given time. There will be storm surges along the coastline with some flooding. I signed up for two nights just in case. Using this time as a mini awaycation which I sorely need. Definitely will check the house tomorrow and may visit hubby if he has returned from Orlando.

      @Sheba🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

Hello and how are you doing?
Got good results yesterday from the doctor. I stopped in Walmart on the way home. Got some groceries and the Cuban bread I like a lot. Even though I bake bread, I can’t get that bread just right, it’s so fluffy and tastes great. I also had ordered from Kroger to be delivered today. I did modified the order and removed items I got in Walmart. The heavy items such as water, milk etc, I just left for it to be delivered.
I am getting ready for the hurricane, cooking and baking today. Getting the outside ready so nothing flies away. Hubby is in Minnesota visiting his mother. So it’s me and the hurricane, but I am used to this. Had many hurricanes by myself.
Not sure if the power will stay on once the high winds hit us. Last year we lost power.

      Take care Sheba 🌹
