Conversation – 18

Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 18 out of the series. I created and started this thread 9 years ago.
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

“Winter Lady”Trav’ling lady, stay awhile
until the night is over.
I’m just a station on your way,
I know I’m not your lover.
Well I lived with a child of snow
when I was a soldier,
and I fought every man for her
until the nights grew colder. She used to wear her hair like you
except when she was sleeping,
and then she’d weave it on a loom
of smoke and gold and breathing. And why are you so quiet now
standing there in the doorway?
You chose your journey long before
you came upon this highway.Trav’ling lady stay awhile
until the night is over.
I’m just a station on your way,
I know I’m not your lover. -

I’ll Be Seeing You
Billie HolidayI’ll be seeing you,
In all the old familiar places,
That this heart of mine embraces,
All day through.
In that small cafe,
The park across the way,
The children’s carousel,
The chestnut trees the wishing well.
I’ll be seeing you in every lovely summer’s day and,
Everything that’s light and ,
I’ll always think of you that way,
I’ll find you in the morning sun,
And when the night is new,
I’ll be looking at the moon,
I’ll be seeing you.
Yes I’ll be seeing you in every lovely summer’s day,
And everything that’s light and ,
I’ll always think of you that way,
I will find you in the morning sun and,
When the night is new,
I’ll be looking at the moon,
While I’ll be seeing you.
Yes I will dig you in the early bright and
When the night is new
I’ll be looking at the moon
I’ll be looking but I’ll be seeing you -

Peace Out Peeps stay safe and warm.

Sheba, It’s been raining all day and expected to rain all weekend into early this week.
Stayed in today and did some cleaning to get some exercise.
Hubby found the leak we knew we had but could not pinpoint. Well, there was a small dribble of water down the side of our bedroom window which he thinks is from the roof, a cracked tile possibly. Easy to fix i think.
Hope your cousin gets out of the hospital and home quickly.
As they say in Oz, there’s no place like home…. -
A belated birthday to your hubby from another Capricorn. I knew someone else celebrated just prior to mine, but couldn’t figure it out until I saw Sheba’s note. I hope you two had a great time together and pray that he has many many more and please let them all be healthy.

Home is wherever your heart is and right now it’s in Florida. I do miss my other homes, but at this time of year I would rather see some warmth or should I say, temperatures that are just a bit over 50 degrees. Tonight I will not be able to vouch for that.
I was extremely exhausted yesterday and hubby wanted to go to Aldi’s big time. I could not refuse. His mind was with me all day. It was like prior to Covid when we only had the worries of arthritis. When we returned home I looked at the clock and it was ten minutes before Trivia started. I ran to the comp[uter and by the time it warmed up I had only 5 minutes left. I made it in time. After the 8:30 pm question I decided to run to the car to get the packages. Some were the frozen variety and I was concerned that they would thaw prior to the unpacking. When I reached the front door I was amazed at what I saw. Hubby brought in everything. This was the first time in 2 years he was able to help. I was astounded. No flabbergasted. No, surprised. That’s the word. The moment brought tears which I was able to hide. I made pizza for dinner in between questions and answers.
Last night following Trivia I was amazed at hubby’s stamina. He was awake. He was alert. Something happened. And then I knew or rather questioned. The medication he took prior to surgery was one pill. Could this be the culprit. He hadn’t had this med for twenty-four hours. I gave him his night time meds. Then I looked at the pill he took prior to the surgery. There was a note from the manufacturer stating it may cause drowsiness and some other things and to avoid driving. He slept all night. He did not fall once. Same for today, so far (knock on wood). I will put him back on this pill today, and on Wednesday I will take the notebook in hand with all his meds to go over every one with our physician. Two days with no sign of dementia. A miracle. Not so sure. The jury is still out.
I didn’t lift a finger today. The back is somewhat better. Resting was a good thing and will jump into a shower soon. Guess I needed the rest and being lazy. We have pizza left over and that with a salad will be dinner. I need to cover the plants and hubby said it will be his job tonight. It will be cool tomorrow so may keep everything covered through Monday. Tomorrow will be a busy one. We will be doing walls, windows and floor and at the same time getting rid of the clutter and donating. Cannot wait to do the bed and the new bedding.
Have a great evening with your hubby and Poppy. Maybe if it’s a tad warmer Charlie will come by for a few hours. Still wonder if Charlie has cancer. Or maybe, if he is on meds, it may be doing their job. I sure hope so. Stay warm. I’m going to make some hot chocolate.

Not much happening here today, 19 degrees when I left this morning to visit mom and sis. Had our usual, tea, coffee and snacks.☕🍊🍩
Hockey team looks bad, at least six good players out with injuries. C’est la vie….🙄 Will probably watch the football game tonight.🏈 Birthday cake is almost gone, feel like I committed a sin on how much I ate.🎂😮
Stay warm, feel better, relax. Sending virtual cake and wine your way!🍰🍷 Enjoy!!

@Sheba
Hello Sheba, it’s sunny and cold here. We are under a freez warning. We covered everything last night and will do again today. ❄️❄️❄️❄️
I hope your cold is getting better, it’s hard to stay away in the kind of weather your area gets.
It will be a slow process but your cousin will get better. I have great faith in Saint Anthony.
Wouldn’t it be just marvelous if we all could get together and bake away all day. ☺️
The bread came out so good, and the whole house smelled like a bakery.
Right now I have a stock pot on the stove, chicken broth. Will make some soup for tonight since its going to be very cold for our area.Stay warm and take care Sheba. 🌻

Over the Rainbow
Song by Judy GarlandSomewhere over the rainbow, way up high
There’s a land that I heard of once in a lullaby
Somewhere over the rainbow, skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true
Someday I’ll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
Away above the chimney tops
That’s where you’ll find me
Somewhere over the rainbow, bluebirds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why, then, oh, why can’t I?
Somewhere over the rainbow, bluebirds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why, then, oh, why can’t I?
If happy little bluebirds fly
Beyond the rainbow
Why, oh, why can’t I?
