Thanks for the advice. I have more than enough bottled water on hand. I keep them in the van and only take what I can carry without too much trouble. Hubby used to bring in all the packages at one time, but those days are now long gone. When I feel better I will take an extra lot onto the dbest cart, but until then 6-8 bottles at a time will do.

I haven’t seen hubby since Monday and I am hoping to be with him this afternoon. Not sure about Trivia tonight, but I know the game is in good hands and someone will give it a start. I am hoping to pick up a grinder or something with pastrami today on the way. The Deli area is only opened until 4pm and the restaurant closes for an hour to get ready for the dinner crowd. I also need to meet with the unit mgr/head nurse to go over a plan for the next test. I am surprised that the hospitals around here are not accessible for this type of test. That includes Sarasota and the newer Lakewood Medical Center.

I will try your water. So far I just feel weak, but today is a good one thus far. Not ready to dance the night away, but ready to do some light housekeeping chores, though visiting hubby has top priority.

Take care of yourself and again I love your suggestions and will give it a try.

What I have or had is a form of heat stroke. Early Tuesday morning I found myself on the floor of the bathroom. Have no memory as what happened. From my position, I literally crawled out of there, but kept falling asleep as I was trying to get to something I could hang on to. It took just a little over an hour, but felf like a lifetime. I was able to make it to the side of our bed and then able to lift myself up. Bed never felt so good. And there I stayed except when I had to use the library. Yesterday was the first time I was able to eat a little something. I drank alot of liquids and though people use gatorade, for some reason I cannot hold it. Tonight is actually the first time all week that I can honestly say I feel stronger. This entire episode had everything to do with the heat and humidity in Florida along with no A/C at the rehab. I am wondering if that is the reason hubby’s roommate is back in the hospital. There was no air quality in almost two weeks at the rehab. I will shower and dress and make a stop at a new grinder/pizza/deli place. Hubby asked for a hot pastrami sandwich and I will definitely call ahead and pick up on my way to visit. This place is pretty well known in the Bronx, N.Y. and if it’s anything like them, then he is in for a good treat. Now to go out to the car to fetch a few bottles of water. Hope the glitch is fixed soon.

Oodie, sorry to hear about your heat stroke. Sounds so hot and muggy there. Hope you feel better soon.
Might be time to file a complaint with Florida State’s Licensed Health Care Facility and also find out who owns the rehab your husband is in and if it’s owned out of State call the Director for immediate action. The people in the rehabs are too sick to take action.
I tried to do this with AZ and they took no action despite my calls and e-mails to multiple agencies for Licensing and elder care. The rehab was owned by an out of state group and I reached out to them also and it did help a bit.

The A/C needed some parts and that is what took so long. We had a similar problem ourselves last year and for some reason the parts needed had to be mailed and sorry to say, it took every bit of two weeks. I am not ready to say that the A/C technicians are at fault. It’s just too bad that things that are needed are not carried within house. So, the techs could not do anything but to order the needed parts and wait . What I didn’t care for was seeing the ceiling exposed and all the dust falling from above and a few loose wires hanging down. It will be interesting to see if everything is back in order when I see hubby.

The tsavorite ring is the bypass and sparkles like crazy. I could wear it as a wedding band. The stones are small, but I have yet to find anything over a carat in a solitaire. The other ring from Rarities is also pretty and will wait a while before ordering. Next month is HSN’s birthday celebration, and Heidi should be on. I have found that Carole’s rings sparkle for many years and then some. Just have a great time wearing that ring and watch the reaction from friends and family.

Sorry girls still have the problem I will work on this later.

OZ is near 100 degrees today. Holy Smokes!

Hi and a good evening. I.’m in bed and will get up soon to order a pizza for delivery. Didn’t eat for two days. Could barely stand without feeling I was going to faint. This afternoon was the first time I felt like eating and made a chicken salad sandwich. I did contact the rehab and spoke with the unit mgr/head nurse. Hubby is doing great. His exact words. However, I did contact the urologist to schedule the next test. They informed me that he must be able to stand and to get onto a 24″
Mattress. If not he will have to travel to Tampa which is almost an hour plus one way due to construction. This I will mention when I am able to see hubby. I almost doubt that the rehab will drive that distance. I am wondering if some other people could travel with him to help him onto the bed. Evidently, there is no one in the department to help. Seems odd. Also asked about his roommate and found he was rushed to the hospital this morning.. He has been on oxygen on and off since his arrival about three weeks ago.

My ring sparkles, let’s hope that continues over time. I had a pair of natural Herkimer studs from a decade or more ago and they looked great for a month and then looked liked ugly glass.
The ring so far is highly wearable and light weight. I will leave a review after wearing it for a few days. Was you tsvorite ring the bypass one from Rarities?

Sheba, Hello! Tomorrow is my 2nd revenge hike on the same trail. I sure hope it is easier this time. Hubs and I will drive for about an hour to get to it. I will do well as long as it’s not hot. There will be bugs so I have to dress and use bug spray and they will still try to get at me. Those bugs want some fresh food (me). Today I rested because the hill//run combo made me tired.

Happy Wednesday to you. No book reading on the deck or swimming today. We have a red alert air quality day due to the wildfires in Canada.🔥 Woke up to a haze hanging over my yard. The forecast was hazy, warm and smokey.😮 This is the worst it has been and is supposed to hang around at least through tomorrow. Went out back for a little while to tend to the flowers and could feel my throat getting scratchy.

Microwave broke yesterday so will be out looking for a new one in the next couple days. I use it a lot, it was 15 years old so I can’t complain. It is an OTR one so I have to be careful on size. I bought all new appliances at the same time so I guess they all will be dying now.😕

BTW, that cake you sent last night is gone!!!👅

A whole other type of beauty exists in the moonlight that we can fully enjoy if we know how.

Two of our favorite things are celebrated each year on National Ice Cream Cake Day on June 27, and we are salivating at the thought! The perfect sweet treat for just about any occasion, this ice cream filled with layers of cake is the perfect dessert for a hot summer day (or any day of the year, really). Get excited about this amazing union of frozen yumminess with us.

HISTORY OF NATIONAL ICE CREAM CAKE DAY

No one knows for certain who came up with the ice cream cake or even when it originated. Multiple theories abound about this invention. Some food historians believe the sixteenth century was when the initial versions of the ice cream cake came to be. Others think Victoria Era desserts called ‘Bombes’ — which were made of ice cream and fruit and sometimes contained cake or biscuits — were the inspiration for the ice cream cake. Yet others believe wealthy English lords and ladies, who could afford treats like this, invented the ice cream cake. One more version of events attributes the trifle as being the first version of the ice cream cake; the theory is that since sponge biscuits were used to keep the ice cream in the trifle in place, they are the initial version of the ice cream cake. These earlier variations are not the current dessert we all know and love, however. The current design includes a cake that is baked and then cooled, and ice cream is added after to create the finished dish. Some companies even decorate this for an added flourish. These cakes gained in popularity over the years, but they only became affordable after World War I.

The day itself has a very inspiring thought behind it. Mum-of-three Johanna Jurado passed away in an accident two months before her 32nd wedding anniversary, which was in June. Like any family, the Jurados went through a whole period of grief and then acceptance, learning to live their new normal. Unlike many others, the Jurado family chose to respond to this tragedy by marking a special day in honor of Johanna Jurado. Johanna loved celebrating fun new special ‘days,’ and she believed ice cream cake made any celebration better. So, Johanna’s youngest daughter, Jenna, came up with a brilliant idea. She, along with Cupcakes for a Cause, petitioned to have June 27 — also her mother’s birthday, called National Ice Cream Cake Day. These celebrations have been held ever since that day three years ago and have proven to be very therapeutic for the entire Jurado family.

The grass cutting team was here this morning and scared my beautiful little bunny off. He must of ran into the woods in the backyard.
I woke up early with all the loud noise of the big machines.

Hubby is driving to work in Tampa this week., comes home very tired and hungry.
Made him a refreshing salad, Romain lettuce, tomato a little chicken and avocado. A dressing of olive oil, lemon with parsley and Oregano.
Those ice cream cakes look delicious, I can’t remember when was the last time I had one. Must of been a good while. I do enjoy a good ice cream in the Summer. That’s something I don’t make myself. I have made it in the past, but it’s been a long while.

I too hope Oodiebom is well and just a bit busy.

I think the bunny will be back when the noise is gone. All my critters hate the noise and
a lawn mower is the fastest way to get rid of any critter. I would not worry too much as
they always come back. 😎✨

I love feeding them and looking out for them. I am thankful at night I can see in my
large backyard as we have cameras out back as well. This is for security purposes.

I had a small pieces of Baskins Robbins and I was able to buy a small cake hubby and I
shared it. I have to say this is Summerland. 💕🌹✨

Hi and good afternoon. The last time I saw hubby was Sunday. I had made a stop at Costco and purchased two hot dogs and tow sundaes plus two sodas. When I ret urned to the car I added the ice cream to our new sandwich thing plus two ice packs. The hot dog I put into the bottom container and the sodas I poured into the plastic bottles that held the water. Dinner that night was pretty good. I had tried it, but hubby wanted the dogs. The ice cream stayed frozen. However, I started not feeling too well and so I left before 8 pm. My throat felt a little sore so I took a teaspoon of Manuka. Sore throat gone within minutes. But could not regulate body temp by Monday. Yesterday was the worse and today I am beginning to feel more myself. I wanted to contact the rehab but it was after 7 pm and the switchboard was closed. I will make a phone call first thing tomorrow to let the staff know I will not be there and they need to make sure that hubby is eating. Depending how I feel, may make a stop at Culvers for fish & chips with cole slaw or something else. Definitely their custard which is homemade. I haven’t had anything to eat in a few days. May try a pizza tomorrow which can be delivered. I also ordered PRI for the cough from Amazon, but as of now, no cough. Definitely will wait one more day before seeing hubby and will talk to the unit mgr/head nurse tomorrow. No fun being ill without hubby being near.

So happy that you like the ring. The on air lighting does affect the color. However my main concern was the sparkle. Champagne is my favorite for all the colors. I do have a tennis bracelet that is breathtaking that I purchased from another shopping channel. Well, back to bed for me. I have no idea what hit me. Have no energy and cannot look at food, though may order something out and have it delivered.

Dumbing Ourselves Down

When we dumb ourselves down, we sell ourselves short and lose an opportunity to shed light where it is needed.

The ability to go into any social situation and sense the level of consciousness in it is a gift. It enables us to move considerately through the world. However, there is a difference between shifting our energy to accommodate people and dumbing ourselves down to a regrettable degree. Sometimes, when we get into a particular social situation, we may feel pressure to play it small in order to fit in. Perhaps everyone is drinking or smoking excessively, engaging in gossipy small talk, or complaining bitterly about politics. It is one thing to notice this and modify our expectations and another thing entirely to join in.

When we notice where people are coming from and acknowledge, to ourselves, that their energy is not in alignment with ours, we have choices about how to proceed. One viable option is to quietly endure the situation, keeping to ourselves until it is time to leave. In this way, we take care of our own consciousness and protect our growth process. Another option is to interact in a way that honors and pays respect to the people in the group, while gently attempting to shift the level of consciousness with our input. In order to do this, we must maintain our own vibration, which means that joining in by dumbing down is not an option.

When we choose to dumb ourselves down to fit in, we not only sell ourselves short but we also lose a possible opportunity to influence the situation for the good. Our desire to join in may come from our natural yearning to feel connected to the people around us. There is no shame in this, but being able to stand on our own, separate from the crowd, is a powerful milestone on any spiritual path. It can be difficult in the moment, but when we arrive on the other side, our integrity intact, we may find ourselves feeling positively smart. AMEN! ✨🌹😎
