Conversation – 18

  • Sheba2011

Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 18 out of the series. I created and started this thread 9 years ago.
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎

I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

      What a Wonderful World
      Louis Armstrong

I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom, for me and for you
      And I think to myself
      What a wonderful world
I see skies of blue, and clouds of white
The bright blessed days, dark sacred nights
      And I think to myself
      What a wonderful world
The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shaking hands sayin’ how do you do
They’re really sayin’ I love you
I hear babies cry, I watch them grow
They’ll learn much more than I’ll never know
      And I think to myself
      What a wonderful world
      Yes, I think to myself
      What a wonderful world

      Walk on By
      Dionne Warwick

If you see me walking down the street
And I start to cry, each time we meet
      Walk on by
      Walk on by
Make believe that you don’t see the tears
      Just let me grieve
In private, ’cause each time I see you, I break down and cry
      Walk on by
      (Don’t stop)
      Walk on by
      (Don’t stop)
      Walk on by
I just can’t get over losing you
And so if I seem broken and blue
      Walk on by
      Walk on by
      Foolish pride
That’s all that I have left, so let me hide
The tears and the sadness you gave me
      When you said goodbye
      Walk on by
      (Don’t stop)
      Walk on by
      (Don’t stop)
      Walk on by
      (Don’t stop)
      Walk on
      Walk on by
      Walk on by
      Foolish pride
That’s all that I have left, so let me hide
The tears and the sadness you gave me
      When you said goodbye
      Walk on by
      (Don’t stop)
      Walk on by
      (Don’t stop)
Now you really gotta go, so walk on by
      (Don’t stop)
Baby leave, you’ll never see the tears I cry
      (Don’t stop)
Now you really gotta go, so walk on by
      (Don’t stop)
Baby leave, you’ll never see the tears I cry
      (Don’t stop)…

(I Love You) For Sentimental Reasons
      Nat “King” Cole

      I love you
      For sentimental reasons
I hope you do believe me
      I’ll give you my heart
      I love you
And you alone were meant for me
Please give your loving heart to me
      And say we’ll never part
I think of you every morning
      Dream of you every night
      Darling I’m never lonely
      Whenever you are in sight
I love you for sentimental reasons
I hope you do believe me
      I’ve given you my heart
I love you for sentimental reasons
I hope you do believe me
      I’ve given you my heart

      At Last
      Etta James

      At last
      My love has come along
      My lonely days are over
And life is like a song
      Oh, yeah, yeah
      At last
      The skies above are blue
My heart was wrapped up in clover
The night I looked at you
I found a dream that I could speak to
A dream that I can call my own
I found a thrill to press my cheek to
A thrill that I’ve never known (oh, yeah, yeah)
      You smiled, you smiled
Oh, and then the spell was cast
And here we are in Heaven
For you are mine at last

      Darling, you send me
      I know you send me
      Darling, you send me
Honest, you do, honest you do

But ooh, it’s lasted so long
      Now I find myself wanting
To marry you and take you home, whoa

      I know you send me
      Honest you do

(You send me) mmm hmm, mmm hmm, honest you do, honest you do
      Whoa, I know
(You thrill me) I know, I know, I know, when you hold me
(You thrill me) whoa, whenever you kiss me
(You thrill me) mmm hmm, mmm hmm, honest you do
At first, I thought it was infatuation
But ooh, it’s lasted so long
      Now I find myself wanting

      A Certain Smile
      Johnny Mathis

A certain smile, a certain face
      Can lead an unsuspecting heart
      On a merry chase
      Afleeting glance can say
      So many lovely things
Suddenly you know why my heart sings
You love awhile and when love goes
You try to hide the tears inside
      With a cheerful pose
But in the hush of night
Exactly like a bitter sweet refrain
      Comes that certain smile
      To haunt your heart again

      Endless Love
      Diana Ross

      My love
There’s only you in my life
      The only thing that’s right
      My first love
You’re every breath that I take
      You’re every step I make
      And I
      I want to share
      All my love with you
      No one else will do
      And your eyes
They tell me how much you care
Oh yes, you will always be
      My endless love
      Two hearts
Two hearts that beat as one
      Our lives have just begun
      Forever
I’ll hold you close in my arms
      I can’t resist your charms
      And love
I’ll be a fool for you, I’m sure
      You know I don’t mind
      I don’t mind
      ‘Cause you
You mean the world to me
      Oh, I know
      I’ve found in you
      My endless love
      Ooh, ah
      Ooh, ah
      Ooh, ooh, ooh, and love
I’ll be a fool for you, I’m sure
      You know I don’t mind
      I don’t mind
And, yes, you’ll be the only one
      ‘Cause no one can deny
      This love I have inside
I’ll give it all to you
      My love, my love
      My endless love
      Love, my endless love
      Oh, oh, oh my

      @xango and @shoelady60,

Good day for some homemade soup. 😎✨

      • Sheba2011

Today is the day to warm up with a brimming bowl of homemade soup. The reason? February 4 is National Homemade Soup Day!

When the snow is piling up and chilly winter winds are blowing outside, nothing takes away the cold feeling like a bowl of homemade soup.

What is the History of homemade soup?

Before stores were able to rely on modern modes of transportation, soups were made at home from foods that were regionally available.

That is one of the reasons there are so many recipes for homemade soup out there!

Soups have been warming us for thousands of years. Watery gruel is likely the origin of soup as we know it.

From 1150 to about 1500 the word soupen meant “to drink in sips.” Soup, supper, and sip are derivatives of this word.

Historians believe that soup was the foundation of the first public restaurants in Paris in the 18th century.

Soups such as consommé, bouillion and broths were served in these early “restoratifs”. The word restaurant derives from this term.

In the 19th century canned and dehydrated soups came into use. This kept soldiers and cowboys fed.

Doctor John T. Dorrance, a chemist working with the Campbell Soup Company, invented the first condensed soup in 1897. Since then Americans have been consuming soups in huge numbers.

Modern day soups have many varieties such as gluten free, low carb, low salt and microwaveble soups.

      Fun Facts about homemade soup
Brush up on your knowledge of homemade soup with these fun facts.

Americans consume more than 10 billions bowls of soup each year!
Pocket soups were carried by colonial travelers. They could be reconstituted with just a little water.
The soup can art of the 1960’s by Andy Warhol now sells for hundreds of thousands of dollars but his first works sold for about $100.
Women are more than twice as likely to choose soup to eat than men will.
Scientists believe that a bowl of the soup may help to reduce inflammation in your lungs. Many people serve chicken soup when a loved one gets a cold.
The most popular soup in the US is chicken noodle soup.
Russian borscht, Italian minestrone, French onion, Chinese won ton and Campbell’s tomato are all popular soups.
The largest bowl of noodle soup weighed 2,996 lb 1.3 oz and is mentioned in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Hello Sheba, I hope everything is alright. And hope you are OK.
Just notice thing slightly different today.
The day went fast and it was very windy, a bit chilly too. Colder in the house than outside in the Sun. A perfect day for soup. I like the one you offered me and Shoelady.

I was able to see that glorious Moon last night. To my surprise, since the day was raining and cloudsy throughout. It was a Beaty of a suprise, no clouds just stars, lots. And the large and bright Moon.

I hope you are well, and taking care of yourself. ❤️❤️❤️❤️🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Well, we now have a new roof. The crew knew what to do and it took two days. Cannot believe that our den did not sustain any structural damage. Only concern is the indoor carpeting. That took the water.. When I feel better will take a look. Next on the agenda is the electrician. He will be here early Monday morning with the new panel. A new washer and dryer is scheduled for delivery early afternoon. Before contacting the plumber need a couple of days to get some much needed rest. Also need to contact Spectrum.

Hubby is now in rehab. And he is in my first choice. I need to. do one load of laundry and deliver it on Monday. Not sure if. I will see him. That depends on the cough which. Is reluctant to say goodbye. I did purchase cough syrup through Amazon.

Hubby has mentioned that as soon as he is released from rehab we will be heading North. Hmm..not so fast. Since I am the designated driver he better give me a break. I am not sure if his dementia will permit him to have a driver’s license. So, for now, one. Step at a time.. And without reconstructive knee surgery, will he be able to circumvent 9 steps to the first floor of the raised ranch..And the next question. Will he be able to help without me telling him what to do. Need to see what rehab does.

      Sheba Hello this Saturday evening!
Had a great hike today because the weather was a light cool breeze. Then I went to TJ Max but didn’t see anything that interested me this trip. We have one slightly damp area on the ceiling and more rains expected next week. This is good since we can detect if all the damage is repaired or not.
The soup pictures look good and Shoelady’s wine, well great! I have had a little wine this winter.

Love soup, just finished my vegetable soup that I made a couple weeks ago. Will probably do some chicken noodle in the next week or two.🥣 I also have a recipe for a good tortellini soup. Soup goes with everything.

Sounds like manual labor at your house today.💪 I’m like you, get it done now so when the weather gets nice you can be outside.🌞 I always do spring cleaning in the winter.

Go Red for Women Today & Every Day!

It kills one in three women in the United States every year, but many consider it only a man’s disease. Heart disease kills more people in the U.S. every year than all forms of cancer combined. February is American Heart Month, a time for women to take control of their cardiovascular health.

Go Red For Women is a program developed by the American Heart Association. The goals are to encourage women to take control of their heart health and to bring attention to cardiovascular disease in women. National Wear Red Day® is a day for everyone to wear red clothes or accessories to promote the cause of women’s heart health.

Nine out of ten women have at least one risk factor for heart disease or stroke. In other words, of all the women you know in your life, 90% of them are vulnerable to heart disease or stroke. There are some risk factors that increase your risk of heart disease or stroke that can be controlled. This includes excess weight, high blood pressure, smoking, diabetes, and cholesterol levels.

However, some risk factors are not preventable, and include age, gender, race, and ethnic background. For example, if one of your parents, grandparents or siblings has suffered a heart attack or stroke, your risk is higher, too.

Signs of a heart attack in women differ from those in men. The most common symptom of a heart attack in either gender is chest pain or discomfort. Women may also feel shortness of breath, back pain, jaw pain, nausea, or vomiting.

The signs of a stroke in women include sudden numbness or weakness of the face, arm, or leg, especially on one side of the body; sudden confusion, trouble speaking or understanding; sudden trouble seeing or blurred vision in one or both eyes; sudden trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination; and/or sudden severe headache with no known cause. Learn to recognize the symptoms of an impending stroke, and teach your friends and family too.

Take action. The best ways to protect your heart are:
Get active and stay active as you age.
      Eat healthy foods.
Talk to your doctor about your heart health and risk factors.
      Manage high blood pressure.
      Maintain a healthy weight.
      Control cholesterol and blood sugar.
Stop smoking and drink only in moderation.
      Get active.
We all know we need to exercise to stay healthy, but how do we fit it into our busy schedules? Here are a few tips to sneak in some extra steps in fun and effortless ways:

Walk with your kids or your dog around the block after school or after dinner.
If the weather outside is frightful (hot, cold, wet!), try walking in the mall or even a large store.
Park further away from the door to your office, store, or bus stop, and walk the extra distance.
Use the stairs, not the elevator. It’s good for you and the environment too.
Grab your honey and go out dancing. Or grab your kid and dance to the songs in their favorite movie.

Find a way to exercise while you watch TV – walk or jog in place, or use a treadmill if you have one.

Join a gym or find a class. Exercising with others may help motivate you.
Going to the beach? Walk on the beach or boardwalk. Take a swim. Throw a frisbee.
      Eat healthy foods.

A healthy diet is a gift you can give yourself every day. Eat a variety of fruits and vegetables. Choose whole grains. Eat less red meat and more fish. Select fat-free or low-fat dairy products. Limit salt and fat. Try these delicious and heart-healthy recipes from the American Heart Association:

      Tuscan Bean Soup
Pico De Gallo Grilled Chicken Salad
      Southern Cornbread

      Talk to your healthcare provider.
Women can be proactive about their heart health. Make an appointment with your primary care doctor for a Well-Woman Checkup. Bring a list of questions or symptoms, a detailed family history of heart disease, and a list of your medications. Be sure to discuss your blood pressure, cholesterol, and other lifestyle-related risk factors.

It doesn’t need to be February 3rd to support women’s heart health! ❤️❤️

      @Sheba

Hello Sheba, how are you staying warm?
We actually had some rain today, and after that the temperature came down to the 60’s. Tonight it’s suppose to get down to 48. I know, that’s nothing compared to the rest of the country where is way below zero.

It’s been cloudy so I won’t be able to see the Moon tonight. I did see it last night, it was absolutely lovely. Around 3AM, it’s up in the sky just at the same spot the Sun is in the late afternoon. And it looked like the Sun, because it was so bright and large. I also saw the constellation Leo.
My mom was a Leo, and I was suppose to be one too. I was to be born on July 31st, but I was two months early.

How is your sister? And your cousin? Wishing them both a speedy recovery.

      Stay warm Sheba.

      @xango,

I have a bullseye view of the moon and it is large and bright not a cloud in the sky.
We are cold I can’t stay out long. ✨✨

Thank you for remembering my sister she is doing alright naturally she is resting.
I will say she hurts they did give her some medicine for the pain her knee is really
      swollen.

My cousin is going one day at a time. I don’t know if I could ever get in a car again
after that accident. Cousin will be in rehab for month in order to walk again.

The memory of her husband passing right beside her I think she will need years of help.

My family will be there for her. 🌹💕

Well I am in Trivia just in the Arcade. 😎✨

Good afternoon on the Gulf Coast of Florida. My internet system went down and I had to

Sheba, sorry your internet went out. Not too convenient. Great that someone came out and repaired it. We all use that internet here everyday. I sent off my passport documents/paperwork. The picture was ok. Your tips did help. Since I am 10 years older since the last picture – yikes. PP expires next month.

Good day in the ‘burgh. What a day in OZ. My internet went down and had to have someone
come and fix a small box on the wall only took 20 minutes but very lucky to get it done
today. I was almost done with the thread for this morning and suddenly nothing..✨

We are frozen in OZ that is for sure. Hey I got my TS Joy Huggable Hangers so some real

Just like Oz, we are freezing in the ‘burgh. Temp around 14 with wind chill -5.🥶 A few flurries on and off all day. Never left the house today. Starting later tomorrow it will get warmer and 50’s by mid-week, may have to get the swimsuit out!👙🤣

Glad your internet was fixed quickly. That’s almost unheard of to get service the same day.😮 Your box was probably frozen, lol! I have more than enough hangers, all my closets have them and I still have some in a box that I haven’t used yet.

Not much planned for the rest of the weekend. I know I will find projects around the house. That cup of tea looks good, will have one later this evening.☕ You and Poppy snuggle up by the fire.🔥🥰

      @shoelady60,

Good evening and stay warm. Lady those hangers were very much needed.

I have a ton to hang in various closets and the price was right. I had a 10.00 coupon
and free shipping via UPS. ✨✨ All good but it will require some work. 😎😎

I will leave a feedback for the hangers. I have so many projects I set goals for myself.
Every week I take my time and I will not do this again. I have a lot to donate I am sure
someone can use some of the things I no longer need.

Never a dull moment in OZ. 😘🌹

      Blessing Space

We can bless each space we enter, leaving a sweet energetic footprint behind.

Physical space acts like a sponge, absorbing the radiant of all who pass through it. And, more likely than not, the spaces we move through each day have seen many people come and go. We have no way of knowing whether the energy footprints left behind by those who preceded us will invigorate us or drain us. Yet we can control the energy footprint we leave behind for others. In blessing each space we enter, we orchestrate a subtle energy shift that affects not only our own experiences in that space but also the experiences of the individuals who will enter the space after us. While we may never see the effects our blessing has had, we can take comfort in the fact that we have provided grace for those that follow after us.

When you bless a room or an entire building, you leave a powerful message of love and light for all those who will come after you. Your blessings thus have myriad effects on the environments through which you pass. Old, stagnant energy is cleared, creating a vacuum into which fresh and invigorating energy can freely flow. The space is thus rendered harmonious and nourishing, and it becomes a hub from which positive feelings are transmitted. Intent is the key component of the blessings you leave in your physical wake. If your intent involves using your own consciousness as a tool for selflessly spreading grace, your blessings will never go awry. Whether you feel more comfortable performing a solo blessing or prefer to call upon your spirit guides for assistance, visualize each space you enter becoming free of toxins, chaos, and negativity as you speak your blessing. Then imagine the resultant emptiness being replaced by pure, healing white light and loving energy. Even a quick mindful thought of love can bless a space.

This type of blessing is cumulative and will grow each time you bestow it. Try blessing every home, business, and office you visit for an entire week and observing the effects of your goodwill. Your affirmative energy footprint will help brighten your day as you contemplate your blessing’s future impact on your siblings in humanity and your environment. Amen! 💕💕✨

      Where Is the Love
Song by Donny Hathaway and Roberta Flack

Where is the love? (Where is the love?)
Where is the love? (Where is the love?)
Where is the love? (Where is the love?)
      Where is the love?
      Where is the love?
You said you’d give to me
As soon as you were free
      Will it ever be?
      Where is the love?
You told me that you didn’t love him
And you were gonna say, goodbye
But if you really didn’t mean it
Why did you have to lie?
      Where is the love?
You said, was mine, all mine
      ‘Til the end of time
      Was it just a lie?
      Where is the love?
If you had, had a sudden change of heart
I wish that you would tell me so
Don’t leave me hangin’ on the promises
You’ve got to let me know
Oh, how I wish, I never met you
I guess, it must have been my fate
To fall in love with someone else’s love
All I can do is wait
That’s all I can do, yeah, yeah
Where is the love? (Where is the love?)
Where is the love? (Where is the love?)
Where is the love? (Where is the love?)
Where is the love? (Where is the love?)
Where is the love? (Where is the love?)
Where is the love? (Where is the love?)

      Rhiannon
      Song by Fleetwood Mac

Rhiannon rings like a bell through the night
And wouldn’t you love to love her?
Takes to the sky like a bird in flight
And who will be her lover?
All your life you’ve never seen
      Woman taken by the wind
Would you stay if she promised you heaven?
      Will you ever win?
She is like a cat in the dark
And then she is to darkness
She rules her life like a fine skylark
And when the sky is starless
All your life you’ve never seen
      Woman taken by the wind
Would you stay if she promised you heaven?
      Will you ever win?
      Will you ever win?
      (Rhiannon)
      (Rhiannon)
      (Rhiannon)
      (Rhiannon)
She rings like a bell through the night
And wouldn’t you love to love her?
She rules her life like a bird in flight
And who will be her lover?
All your life you’ve never seen
      Woman taken by the wind
Would you stay if she promised you heaven?
      Will you ever win?
      Will you ever win?
      (Rhiannon)
      (Rhiannon)
      (Rhiannon)
Taken by taken by the sky
      (Ah-ah)
Taken by taken by the sky
      (Ah-ah)
Taken by taken by the sky
      (Ah-ah)
      Dreams unwind
      Love’s a state of mind

      Love’s a state of mind

      Grease
      Frankie Valli

I solve my problems, and I see the light
We got a lovin’ thing, we gotta feed it right
There ain’t no danger we can go too far
We start believing now that we can be who we are
      Grease is the word
They think our love is just a growing pain
Why don’t they understand, it’s just a crying shame
Their lips are lying, only real is real
We stop the fight right now, we got to be what we feel
      Grease is the word
(Grease is the word, is the word that you heard)
It’s got groove, it’s got meaning
Grease is the time, is the place, is the motion
Grease is the way we are feeling
We take the pressure, and we throw away
      Conventionality belongs to yesterday
There is a chance that we can make it so far
We start believing now that we can be who we are
      Grease is the word
(Grease is the word, is the word that you heard)
      It’s got groove, it’s got a meaning
Grease is the time, is the place, is the motion
Now Grease is the way we are feeling
This is a life of illusion
      Wrapped up in trouble (Trouble)
      Laced with confusion
      What are we doing here?
We take the pressure, and we throw away

      @Sheba

Hello Sheba, how is your day going?
It looks like most of the country is going to be under a cold snap. However Florida is having warmer than usual temperatures.

It’s been so dry, no rain. It gets cloudy but it doesn’t rain. Hopefully it will rain tomorrow as they are calling for rain along with Sunday.
The herbs have grown during this winter, but not as much as it does in the summer.
Must be because of the cold nights we had. I want to plant more this year. And a bit earlier than last year.

A full moon is coming up, it’s on the 5th. It was quite beautiful last night, about four large stars not that far from it.

Stay warm and take care Sheba.

      • Sheba2011

      @xango,

I have been out tonight and the moon is fantastic. All I smell was wood from all the fireplaces
being used. The sky was dark with bright stars and I know those stars you are talking about.
I will tell you about it one day.

The February full moon rises at sunset on February 5, 2023. Regulus, the brightest star in Leo the Lion, is near the moon all night. Well of course I am a Leo. 😎 I believe it is called the snow moon.

How did February’s full moon get it’s name? While January is traditionally the coldest month of the year in the northern hemisphere, the heaviest snow usually falls a month later. It’s only natural then that the name for February’s full Moon among Native American tribes of the north and east was the Full Snow Moon.

      @shoelady60,

Good day to you in your corner of the world. I know cold, cold, cold things will get better. ✨

Phil said it will be six more weeks of winter I think we can handle that. ✨✨

Enjoy the visit with your mom and sister I know you will have a good time.

I have a roast in my slow cooker and I am making a broccoli, rice and cheese casserole.
The roast is making the house smell so good. Hubby will love this when he gets home. 💕

One of my sister is having surgery on her knee today. Sis had a bad fall down some steps
trying to help her son. This is outpatient surgery so she will be home tonight this is in
      Colorado. 💕

Good evening from the ‘burgh. Nice day but cold. I think our high tomorrow is 14.🥶 May get a little snow overnight. Went to mom’s today so I will most likely stay inside tomorrow.

Your dinner sounds delicious, I may be knocking on your door.🍖🥦🧀 Cooked some fish and cauliflower today, very healthy. I have a feeling hubs wants pizza🍕 tomorrow so had to compromise.

Hope all went well with your sister’s procedure, always something.🦵 I sure know what knee pain feels like. Also hope your mom is doing well.💗 Sending hugs to the whole family.🤗 Jake told Poppy to tip-toe through the cold.🐕💕

      @shoelady60,

Good evening thank you for remembering my sister surgery today. I just got off the phone
and she is fine and at home she is bandage up real good and will be off work for 2 weeks.

Also my SIL who is married to my brother had knee replacement on Monday. I mean
her knee was so swollen but she is fine she is in her early 50’s and very agile. I checked
on her tonight and she is out of it. I would be too if it were me. All live in Colorado and it
is very cold tonight and I know everyone has some aches and pain with all this cold. Yikes!

This should help keep you warm tonight. 😎😘💕

      Being Fully Present

When we live fully in the moment, there is an aliveness that comes easily.

When we are fully present, we offer our whole selves to whatever it is that we are doing. Our attention, our integrity, and our energy are all focused in the moment and on the task at hand. This is a powerful experience, and when we are in this state, we feel completely alive and invigorated. This kind of aliveness comes easily when we are absorbed in work or play that we love, but it is available to us in every moment, and we can learn to summon it regardless of what we are doing. Even tasks or jobs we don’t enjoy can become infused with the light of being present. The more present we are, the more meaningful our entire lives become.

Next time you find yourself fully engaged in the moment, whether you are making art, trying to solve an interesting puzzle, or talking to your best friend, you may want to take a moment to notice how you feel. You may observe that you are not thinking about what you need to do next, your body feels like it’s pleasantly humming, or your brain feels tingly. As you enjoy the feeling of being located entirely in the present moment, you can inform yourself that you may try to recall this feeling later. You might try this while driving home or getting ready for bed, allowing yourself to be just as engaged in that experience as you were in the earlier one.

The more we draw ourselves into the present moment, the more we honor the gift of our lives, and the more we honor the people around us. When we are fully present, we give and receive aliveness in equal measure. For today, try to be fully present in your daily activities and watch a new reality open for you. AMEN! ✨✨

Cold, cold, cold in the ‘burgh, just like Oz.🥶 We will have single digit lows until about Saturday. But the sun is out which makes me feel better as long as I stay inside.🌞

Not much happening this week which is a good thing. May go up to mom’s tomorrow since it will be a little warmer than Saturday. Also need to grocery shop. Got a haircut yesterday.✂ Hockey team on their bye week so no games. Maybe a good thing so they can rest up and get their act together.🙄

You and Poppy stay warm – I bet he is out and back in a matter of seconds. Jake hated cold and snow. I had a short-haired pointer who wouldn’t even leave the deck, just did his stuff right there!😅

      Past Life Regression

The effects of a past life can manifest in your current life in many ways but should be used as a tool, not an excuse.

Inside our subconscious lie our memories from past lives. Though we seldom remember even having lived these past lives, the experiences we had living them have had a hand in shaping who we are today. The effects of a past life can manifest in a later lifetime in many ways – phobias, self-limiting beliefs, physical problems, or innate creative abilities. Violence, death, and trauma in a past life may show up as fear, uncontrollable anger, or low self-esteem in this one, while positive experiences from an earlier lifetime may cause you to feel strongly drawn to certain people, places, or objects without knowing why.

Many people turn to past life regression therapists to revisit their past lives. Past life regression allows you to recall the memories and emotions associated with a past life that continue to exert an influence over your present reality. You may not have even been aware that these experiences are still affecting you today. Past life regression therapy can offer you a unique opportunity to reconnect with these memories so you can understand them and free yourself.

To discover more about your past lives, consider keeping a notebook where you can record anything that could be a memory from a different lifetime. You may also feel drawn to a particular period in history, a seemingly unfamiliar locale, or a new person you’ve met who seems oddly familiar. Pick a time and choose a place where you can relax. Envision your body being filled with healing white light. Remember that nothing you see or hear will harm you. Ask yourself what you hope to achieve through regression and connect with your inner vision. Observe what you see without judgment. When you are done, think about how what you experienced relates to your present life. There may be beliefs from a past life that you are still operating under but are now ready to let go of. The significance of your past life memory may not be immediately obvious until much later. You can make the most of your past lives by learning from them. While past life regression can be an exciting journey, it is not a substitute for living in the present where we are most needed right here and now. AMEN! ✨✨

Can You Read My Mind (Love Theme from “Superman”)
      Maureen McGovern

      Can you read my mind?
Do you know what it is you do to me?
      Don’t know who you are,
Just a friend from another star
Here I am like a kid at a school
Holding hands with a god, I’m a fool
Will you look at me quivering
      Like a little girl shivering?
You can see right through me
      Can you read my mind?
Can you picture the things I’m thinking of?
      Wondering why you are
All the wonderful things you are
You can fly, you belong to the sky
You and I could belong to each other
      If you need a friend,
I’m the one to fly to
If you need to be loved, (to be loved)
Here I am, read my mind!
      INSTRUMENTAL BRIDGE
Will you look at me quivering
      Like a little girl shivering?
You can see right through me
      If you need a friend,
I’m the one to fly to

      Now I’m on my way
      It doesn’t matter to me
      Chasing the clouds away
      Something calls to me
The trees are drawing me near
I’ve got to find out why
      Those gentle voices I hear
Explain it all with a sigh
I’m looking at myself, reflections of my mind
It’s just the kind of day to leave myself behind
So gently swaying through the fairy-land of love
If you’ll just come with me and see the beauty of
      Tuesday afternoon

      @xango,

Good afternoon in Florida. ✨😎I see you are having a heat wave. Xango as I type this
post to you we are 21 degrees in OZ. Sigh….✨

I am making some meatloaf and potatoes with a veggie for hubby. I may make a nice stew.

I hope your Oxtails are yummy. ✨✨

Thank you for asking about my cousin she still cannot walk and is in PT. I am pleased
she is in her own home with her two brothers and many cousins and Aunt. 😘💕

I was happy to talk to her yesterday it’s the cries that got to me.

Hey enjoy your beautiful weather. 🌹💕

      @Sheba

Hello Sheba, how’s it going today?
We are at 83 degrees, I wish I could send some warmth your way.
I love this type of Winter here, it’s warm and no humidity. I wish it was like this in the Summer 😀.

The Stew sounds delicious. I am not a meatloaf person. I eat ground beef, on accasions only in a meat sauce for pasta.

Today hubby will feast on veggie meatballs and spiral squash pasta. All veggies today.
I will have black beans and rice with oxtail 😁. They cooked perfectly, and yummy. I am also making collard greens sautéed in olive oil and garlic. Rolling in up like a cigar, cutting it very, very thin.

Take care and stay warm Sheba 🌻🌻🌻🌻

      as I type this.

I want some of your meal and like Greta Garbo said in a movie don’t be stingy baby. LOL!
I don’t eat much only when I have to. ✨✨

      he can get in.

Oodie you have a lot going on my goodness. I hope you are able to see your husband soon.
First you have to do you and be on your toes. 🌹

Good luck with all the repairs that needs to get done. Keep drinking your ginger tea. ✨

      @sheba2011

I just got off the phone with hubby. He couldn’t understand why I haven’t shown up in the last few days. Now he knows. The nurses gave him a phone and he dialed our number. The guy is really spunky. No one told him how sick I was. That was a good thing. He would have really been worried sick. There was no memory lapse during our conversation. He did not like my new voice, which is more of an alto. I’m hoping that tomorrow I will be able to spend some time with him, but there are no guarantees. I will not make any decisions until tomorrow.

There was no memory gap except how he ended up in the hospital. I told him what happened and of course there is no recollection. What occurred was low sugar and not having what he needed in the house. That will never happen again. Finding your hubby on his back with arms and legs going every which way no one should have to go through. He had all the symptoms of low blood sugar and though we had ice cream, it was not enough to bring him around. I therefore contacted 911. Now I need to come up with a nice gift for the ER and nursing staff. Also the security people who drove me to my car. Visiting hours are 7am-7pm,

The nurse who gave hubby the phone could not get over how alert he is and his memory is intact. He may slip up from time to time, but it isn’t enough for me to say anything. We all have some form of memory slipups . Who’s to say . I will be studying one of hubby’s prescripts the next few days and weeks. I am almost positive that it may be the culprit along with back and knee pain. Hubby’s body cannot tolerate the pain. I found that out when he was going through the posts for implants. Not a good thing.

I need to make a trip to the UPS store. Nothing like waiting until the last minute and then you also find out that your printer no longer works.

      @oodiebom,

I understand your frustration I would keep some candy bars in the house and if you go
back to Costco they have sugar pills in the Pharmacy Department that you can buy and eat
two and give it a minute to get into the system but of course I would discuss this with his
doctors. Oodie does your husband have an Endocrinologist? Very important if he has one.

Please rest looks like things are coming together. ✨✨

Enjoy some warm tea with Manuka Honey and get your voice back. 🌹🌹

It’s a good thing we are having warm weather.

Great news on your hubby’s eating and having liquids. Soon enough he will be getting better too.

      @taci,

Good morning in S. California and watch out for the rain. Taci use the concealer but include
some mascara just a touch as a former model I know the eyes will look great. Try to use a
light eye liner if you have one and a touch of lip gloss or lipstick and that photo should look
great, 😎✨ I would practice and take a selfie to make sure you look fantastic.

      Happy Trails To You. 🎶🎶

      Your husband is a sweetheart🌹

Sheba, I did a practice run yesterday and then today started all over and did exactly what you said to do. I found something yesterday at CVS that was a blury cream for under the eyes. Then concealer, foundation, more blurry cream and so on but it’s done and over. I recently purchased some deep brown mascara and a Nars lipstick that is sheer. with some light color (glossy). My foundation is lighter, Lancome so it wasn’t too heavy. I wish I had your makeup skills. Ever think about doing u tube video’s on make up and your Heidi? You would do well. Thanks for the great tips.

Hope your cousin is doing ok. It must be so hard for her and family.

When a Bad Apple Spoils the Bunch

When dealing with negative people, we can choose not to respond to their behavior and allow our positive behavior to be an example.

Because life requires that we interact with different personalities, it is not uncommon for us to encounter a situation where there is one person whose behavior may negatively impact the experiences of others. Someone who is loud and crass can interrupt the serenity of those who come together to practice peace. A disruptive worker can cause rules to be imposed that affect their colleagues’ professional lives. A team member who is pessimistic or highly critical may destroy the morale of their fellow members. And one “bad apple” in your personal life can be a potent distraction that makes it difficult to focus on the blessings you’ve been given and the people who love you.

There may always be people in your life who take it upon themselves to create disruption, foster chaos, stamp out hope, and act as if they are above reproach – even when, in doing so, they put a blight on their own experiences. But you don’t need to allow their negativity and callousness to sour your good mood. Often, our first impulse upon coming head-to-head with a bad apple is to express our anger and frustration in no uncertain terms. However, bad apples only have the power to turn our lives sour if we let them.

If you can exercise patience and choose not to respond to their words or actions, you will significantly limit the effect they are able to have on you and your environment. You can also attempt to encourage a bad apple to change their behavior by letting your good behavior stand as an example. If your bad apple is simply hoping to attract notice, they may come to realize that receiving positive attention is much more satisfying than making a negative impression. While you may be tempted to simply disassociate yourself entirely from a bad apple, consider why they might be inclined to cause disturbances. Understanding their motivation can help you see that bad apples are not necessarily bad people. Though bad apples are a fact of life, minimizing the impact you allow them to have upon you is empowering because you are not letting anyone else affect the quality of your experiences. You may discover that buried at the very heart of a bad apple is a seed of goodness. AMEN! ✨✨

Hello Sheba, how was your day? And how are your projects coming along?

It was a warm 82 degrees today. Reminded me of a California day, warm and no humidity.
With groceries from both Kroger and Walmart we are stocked. I just need eggs and a few little items they didn’t have.
Cooked some Oxtails today, this time the packages were a bit larger with more inside.
Separated the large ones from the small and cooked them in separate pots. Freezing one large Oxtail per container.

How is your cousin doing? Wishing her a speedy recovery.

Take care Sheba and stay warm.

      A/C on.

Take your time today and drive very safe. I hope you can bring some of your home treats
to the Hospital for your husband especially the Manuka Honey and Ginger. ✨✨

Please let us know how you both are doing when you have the time. I know you have a lot

      @sheba2011

I am now coughing up a storm. Slept the day away, but managed to put 2 loads of garbage out prior to pickup. Don’t ask how. Just that I was able to do it. My voice is still hoarse. Not sure if I will be going to the hospital anytime soon.

Case management phoned today. They gave me 6 places for rehab and I think I found one. It’s near me and the hospital. Looks like the facilities are all on one floor and it is bright and cheerful. They have a barber and someone to do hair styling. Hubby may enjoy the barber. His beard must be really long by now. Cannot believe that it has been 4 days since I last saw hubby. And tomorrow may be 5 days. The rehab I picked has a view of the Manatee River, a dining room with tablecloths, a library, up to date rehab (better take a measurement of the steps and the one for the van. Hubby is now eating on his own. Seems that he has some esophagus problems. Actually, he has had this problem ever since I met him and maybe now he can eat without a problem thanks to the speech therapist. Yes, he is doing much better thanks to all your prayers and then some.

I contacted the roofer today. They will start on the roof sometime this week, weather permitting. Still haven’t heard from the electrician and surmise they have not received all of their supplies. I changed the day on the delivery for the washer and dryer to Friday. Hopefully, I’ll be back in business for the weekend. The hospital has been informed that I will not be able to do the laundry until the electrical has been replaced. It will also be great to get Spectrum back as well. Alot to do before hubby returns home.

Many years ago, the A/C made people very ill. Back then it was called Legionnaires disease. I would not be surprised if this is what I had. The A/C was on full power in the ER. I was cold and so was hubby. Luckily I brought a heavy duty jacket and hubby got an extra blanket. Manuka honey along with ginger lemon tea helped. I forgot it was also a diuretic. At least it got rid of the sore throat. Unfortunately, the laryngitis is still with me, but at least I can now talk.

Hey Sheba, No hiking today or yesterday because it’s raining. Lots of rain here and lots of snow in the Mountains. We need it here so I am good with it. My husbands roof repairs seem to be holding steady. He plans to repaint the area and put a new baseboard in the bedroom. Fingers crossed and knock on wood it’s all sealed.

Did you hear about the passing of Cindy Williams and Lisa Loring (Child from Adams Family)?

Tomorrow, I decided is the day to get my passport photo. Not looking forward to it as the background is white and washes me out. Played with some eye concealers today but I might be hopeless. haha

Have a great evening, your probably already sleeping. Nice snow picture!

Another dreary day, we will be getting colder and maybe a little snow.🥶❄ Haven’t heard from the family so I am assuming they got back and all is well.

Thanks for the beautiful roses and treats.🥰 That is the perfect table setting. Hope it warms up some in Oz and the ‘burgh. I think the groundhog will see his shadow, especially with all those cameras and lights on him, lol!😂🦔 Blowing kisses your way.😘

      The Secret of Surrender

Surrender should be seen as a great strength and comes when we let go of trying to attain the impossible.

Most of us were raised and live in a culture that emphasizes the ideals of independence and control. The general idea is that we are on our own and we don’t need any help from anyone else, and if we are really successful it’s because we are in complete control. However, true lasting success comes only with surrender, which is the opposite of control. We cannot accomplish anything truly great on our own, without any help, and the idea that we can is an illusion that causes most of us a great deal of suffering. Surrender comes when we see that illusion and let go of trying to attain the impossible. Surrender can then be seen as a great strength rather than a weakness.

Even small moments of surrender are powerful indicators of how different our lives could be if we would only let go. We’ve all had the experience of extending huge amounts of effort and energy to reach a particular goal only to realize that we can’t make it happen after all. At the moment of letting go, realizing that we need to ask for help or simply release our agenda entirely, a profound feeling of relief may rush over us. This warm, open sensation is the essence of surrender, and if we didn’t feel that we didn’t really let go. But it is never too late to let go, even of things in the past that didn’t work out the way we wanted them to, because surrender is always an option in every moment of our lives.

When we finally do surrender, our goals actually become possible, because the act of surrender is, in essence, asking for the help we need. This help may come in the form of other human beings or unseen helpers such as angels or inner guides. It may also come in the form of shifting circumstances, the small miracles that we call grace. Amen! 🌹✨✨

      @Sheba

Hello Sheba, how are you doing?
We are having Florida weather today. We are at 82 degrees and tonight will only be 59.
I have the windows and patio door open.

Yesterday and today for lunch I made pizza. Yesterday hubby had a small pizza, and his glucose this morning was 107. Anything above 100 is not good, he can’t eat those kind of foods and he is very careful of what he consume. But after he smelled mine and saw how yummy it was he asked me to make him a small one. The pizza stone makes all the difference.

Today I am cooking Black beans, enough for the freezer. Hubby enjoys eating them with cauliflower rice, and me with Jasmine rice.

I am also worried about Oodiebom being alone and sick. Also her husband not wanting to eat or drink, that’s not good.
I wish I could lend her a hand. If hubby was retired we could take a trip down her way. But he has to work, and can’t miss work right now just started at the new place not too long ago.

Received groceries from Kroger this afternoon, there were a few things out of stock.
They didn’t have the organic grass fed milk, the organic eggs, no tomatoes on the vine.
So I ordered from Walmart and I am waiting their delivery. Let’s hope they have it.

      Stay warm and safe Sheba.

      @xango,

I never heard of anyone with such great glucose results. Are you sure he is not pre-diabetic?
Those are great numbers and I would keep doing what he is doing. ✨✨

Cold tonight and I am a wee bit tired so almost over the finish line in doing my projects
they are so worth it. 😎

I did get the Joy TS in Grey. ✨

Hi. Finally feeling better today. The Manuka honey took care of that awful sore throat along with a cough. Found Honey Lemon Ricola which helped as well. No more sore throat today. Just a lingering stuffy nose and some coughing. Also, not sure about tomorrow. Will wait until I am up and about before making a decision to drive to the hospital. Believe me when I say I’ve been through the ringer. Didn’t do any work the last few days either. Guess I really needed the rest.

Hubby is on an intravenous. He has a bug and when he eats he starts to cough. This also happened to me, but I was able to counter it with Manuka honey and chicken broth with noodles that I added. Also added a few wontons from the freezer. Yum……

I was told that Hubby’s memory isn’t too good. He was sort of find just before taking sick. So, I imagine he will be OK, at least I hope so. The memory thing I noticed when I asked him to clean the filter for the A/C along with some wicker baskets that were outside. Either he forgot or just didn’t want to do it. Hard to say. However, hubby does know when he goes off the grid. Not seeing me since Thursday evening may pose a risk.

Xango, I do not like the idea that the nurse’s are not feeding him. There is such a thing as boost, and other protein shakes that will not hinder his esophagus. This whole incident was due to the fact that the A/C was on full blast. At least I know he does not have Covid. I also notice that the dementia occurs when he is in tons of pain with the knee and back. I have asked for a complete MRI to get an idea of what is really going on. Seems like the doctors do not care for neurologists and I have no idea why. I will contact our physician tomorrow to let him know that I am not a happy camper.

      @oodiebom,

I am glad you are taking care of yourself. I think you need to be at the hospital when you
are up and ready. I wonder what the problem is with him. I hope they can solve it.

Enjoy your tea and take it slow. ✨✨

      Sleep well my friend. ✨✨

Another dreary day but not real cold, around 40. Ran a few errands and making sure I am finished with dinner before the game, 6:30 here in the ‘burgh. I have leftovers from yesterday and making hubs some hot sausage so won’t take long. Sure hope PM has that ankle taped real good.🦶🙄 And we want a no stress game.😣

Hockey team lost (again)!🏒 But at least there was a lot of scoring so my nephew and wife were not bored and had a good time. Supposedly my nephew’s wife hit it big at the casino last night so they had a good breakfast, lol!👍 Haven’t heard from them since they drove back.

I hope you are a happy camper around 8:30 this evening.😊 Hugs to your clan.🤗🥰
