Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 17 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 8 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

😥😥😥😥 – Another close one down to the wire. If not for that last fluky interception. Oh well, Patrick is still an exciting quarterback, hopefully for many years ahead. One of our newspaper reporters called last week’s game the most crazy, exciting, amazing game anyone could ever see. It’s been a very long time for Cincy to be in the playoffs, let alone the Super Bowl. Good luck to them.👍
I’m glad you like ice skating. Can’t remember if I told you but when I was a teenager I was an amateur skater. Competed regionally, skated five days a week after school and received many buttons and trophies. Never know if I could have tried out for the Olympics since the rink I skated at closed one summer for remodeling and I had to go about an hour away to practice. My dad could only take me twice a week so I found out there was more to life than skating. When my club reopened I had already lost interest, found other things to do and quit. I’m sure my parents were disappointed after all that time and money spent but they didn’t force me. Oh well, maybe in another life.⛸⛸

Eye of the Tiger
Song by SurvivorRising up, back on the street
Did my time, took my chances
Went the distance, now I’m back on my feet
Just a man and his will to survive
So many times it happens too fast
You change your passion for glory
Don’t lose your grip on the dreams of the past
You must fight just to keep them alive
It’s the eye of the tiger
It’s the thrill of the fight
Rising up to the challenge of our rival
And the last known survivor
Stalks his prey in the night
And he’s watching us all with the eye of the tiger
Face to face, out in the heat
Hanging tough, staying hungry
They stack the odds ’til we take to the street
For the kill with the skill to survive
It’s the eye of the tiger
It’s the thrill of the fight
Rising up to the challenge of our rival
And the last known survivor
Stalks his prey in the night
And he’s watching us all with the eye of the tiger
Rising up straight to the top
Had the guts, got the glory
Went the distance, now I’m not going to stop
Just a man and his will to survive
It’s the eye of the tiger
It’s the thrill of the fight
Rising up to the challenge of our rival
And the last known survivor
Stalks his prey in the night
And he’s watching us all with the eye of the tiger
The eye of the tiger
The eye of the tiger
The eye of the tiger
The eye of the tiger -

Hi. Oh my was it ever cold last night. I found my flannels and then had to make the bed the second or third time when hubby took all the covers to his side and some were on the floor. Rather than wake him, I emptied the bed and worked with him in it, thus keeping warm. Took me only ten minutes to put everything back in order. I thought for sure I would be enjoying the cool temps. But, guess my blood has thinned out somewhat since we have not been North in almost two years.
No, I haven’t heard from either of our neighbors. I know there are over 80K without electricity on the Cape, so I suspect that is one reason I haven’t heard anything. My other neighbor will definitely either call or send an e-mail. However, just read on line that my town in Ct. received 22″ of dandruff. That is about 30+ inches less than what we had in 78. Also about 12″ on the Cape. There was quite a bit of wind which knocked down power lines. I suspect I will hear either from my neighbor or the HOA President.
By the way, I had to throw some things into the Recycle bin. It’s a bit chilly out there. Hope your plants are still covered. Another storm is expected next week. The last few winters have been pretty mild in New England. Mainly rain events in the last couple of years. This year has more than made up for it.
Thanks again for doing double duty in Trivia on Friday. I think I will give it a try on my computer again. The questions have been printed too low in the past for me to see anything. Hopefully, that will change on the 6th.
Stay warm. Stay safe. Glad you had a good time shopping Friday.

Song by Gary Portnoy and Judy Hart-AngeloMaking your way in the world today
Takes everything you’ve got
Taking a break from all your worries
Sure would help a lot
Wouldn’t you like to get away?
All those nights when you’ve got no lights
The check is in the mail
And your little angel
Hung the cat up by its tail
And your third fiance didn’t show
Sometimes you want to go
Where everybody knows your name
And they’re always glad you came
You want to be where you can see
Our troubles are all the same
You want to be where everybody knows your name
Roll out of bed, Mr. Coffee’s dead
The morning’s looking bright
And your shrink ran off to Europe
And didn’t even write
And your husband wants to be a girl
Be glad there’s one place in the world
Where everybody knows your name
And they’re always glad you came
You want to go where people know
People are all the same
You want to go where everybody knows your name
Where everybody knows your name
And they’re always glad you came
Where everybody knows your name
And they’re always glad you came
Where everybody knows your name
And they’re always glad you came
Where everybody knows your name -
If your sister and mom decide to leave earlier, there are many hotels/motels in the Ft. Lauderdale area that have great rates for seniors and a free shuttle to the embarkation site. Hubby and I have done this for a few of our cruises because instead of leaving Saturday, embarkation was on a Wednesday and the shuttle does not run on that day. I know there is a shuttle from the airport to the ship. Believe it or not, some of the taxis are less expensive than the ones from the ship. Go figure. Still, it’s costly to make changes., even when it is not your fault.

Seems the Cape had quite a snowstorm. Just read that over 80,000 are without power. YIKES, that’s more than the normal amount of people who stay on the Cape year round. I surmise, if there is anything that occurs, I will be receiving phone calls in the next couple of days. Neighbors are watching both places.
As I was reading the news came across the weather report for the next week. I hope they are wrong, but it seems there could be another nor’easter headed your way and will arrive by Friday and Saturday. In the event that the flight for your mom and sis are cancelled, they can either cancel the trip or see if they can meet the ship at the first Port of Call. If they are on Holland America, they usually are at sea for one or two days unless they stop at their island first. This is one reason I have always insisted on leaving one or two days prior just in case of inclement weather. Then again, the storm is just starting to develop so things could change by the mid week. I am really concerned.

Ok Ok. Guess my bones, skin and blood are not what they used to be. This cold weather really took hold and I have to admit that even with the heat there was still a chill in the air. Very uncomfortable and before retiring found my real warm nightie. Ok, hubby did not fall this time, but the covers and sheets were all on his side on the floor. I had to awaken this sleepy prince from his dreams so I could remake the bed. He was not a happy camper. But in the end, we both were OK.
I have no idea how our homes are up North. I checked the newspaper for the Cape and found that over 80,000 customers are without power. Yikes, that’s more than the people who are there year round. The neighbors will find a way to reach me if there are any problems. Hopefully, everything is OK. I just read where there is another storm expected the end of the week. My heart will be in my mouth because Shoelady’s sister and mom are heading out for their cruise in less than a week. This is why I usually recommend staying over one or two nights prior. Worse scenario would be that they fly directly to where the first port of call is. I will inform Shoelady.
Tomorrow night NBC will be paying a tribute to Betty White. I have seen two schedules for the broadcast. One said 9 PM EST and the other 10 PM EST. Cher will be on. I read where she will be doing a new rendition of “Thank you for Being A Friend.” Star studded cast salute.
It’s a tad warmer today. However cold temps will return tonight. Warmup starts tomorrow and will be in the 80s or close to it by the end of the week.

@oodiebom
Hello Oodie, I hope you and your husband are doing well. We had some very cold nights here, I believe after this cold snap moves on the temperature will be back up.
I hope all is well with your properties up North, I know how hard it is being away in a different place to manage property in another state.
I made a stop at Seabra foods on Friday, they had Dragon fruit and I thought of you. I wish I could have gotten some for you, if only we weren’t so far from each other.
Oodie don’t over do, be careful and be safe . -
@Sheba
Good Afternoon Sheba, I hope you are feeling better from your sinus symptoms today, and staying warm in these very cold days. And you are multitasking, you are not taking it easy on this Sunday?
Last night was a very cold night. The plants were all covered and stayed safe.
Today is a sunny cooler day with temperatures in the fifties.
I am taking it easy today, being lazy, sitting around and eating. 😁
Tom Brady is 44 and takes lots of pounding on the field. His body got to hurt after every practice, after every game.
Sheba I enjoy listening to America, my favorite is Ventura Highway. https://youtu.be/tnV7dTXlXxs
Also a Horse with no name. https://youtu.be/mSZXWdKSQNM
I also listen to Joe Dassin https://youtu.be/7B6Zi1UgA0g. And https://youtu.be/TxAAB58nNLs
I enjoy a variety of music in many languages, English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, Italian. I also listen to Caribbean and some Middle Eastern music.Enjoy the rest of your Sunday Sheba, stay warm, stay safe.
