Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 17 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 8 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

Thanks for the real nice post. Not sure if we will make it to Fort Myers this year. Everything is on the back burner until this pandemic thing is over and done with. We have taken day trips there to see the Broadway Shows at the theater that was once a Publix. Looking around you would never guess that it was once a supermarket. The theater area holds a buffet for lunch and dinner, but you can always order for special diets and then some. Of course people line up by sections for the feast, but the lines go fast. Best part of course is their dessert table and yes, they do have sugar free and no sugar added desserts. They serve beverages up until showtime.
I see we both have the same hobby. Love looking for one of a kind seashells. That doesn’t happen too often. If there is something living inside, I pass. Some of the ones I passed up were showpieces. The colors were bright oranges and red. But as I said, anything inside I gently return to where it was found. Horseshoe crabs are plentiful here and also on the Cape. Many times they were upside down and of course I turn them over and then watch as they head back into the ocean.
Well, best be going. Have work to do so I can redo our bedroom. No, never got started because hubby was in bed all day. Now he is moving a bit more but becomes a bed potato after a short stint in giving me a helping hand. Well, actually, truth be told, that stint actually started this afternoon. He loaded the dishwasher and washed the pots and pans only to return to bed. I cannot complain. He is helping and says he will do whatever he can. That is all I ask. Take care xango and you and your hubby, please be safe.

It is damp and cold on the West Coast. Temp is in the 50s, but it feels like the 30s. The heat is on and right now the house is comfortable.
We have been to Fort Myers many times. but never to the beaches. I was hoping that this pandemic thing would be over and done with by now, but, guess I will keep the travels on the back burner. At the Cape house I have a container filled to the brim with the seashells I have collected over the years. It started with a Mason jar and then one of those orange juice containers and onward and upward from there. I enjoy collecting and the piece and quiet that comes with it. The only sound are the waves as they hit the shore, which is music to my ears. The smell of the salt air tantalizes the brain and sometimes I would love nothing better but to swim in the Gulf. But with the red tide that looms all season long, I do not take a chance.
The pup and the deer are amazing. I just hope the deer can live a long long life and beat all the odds.
The Asian food was absolutely delicious. One of the best we have had on the Gulf. There was enough food for today and both of us thoroughly enjoyed every morsel.
The house is shaping up. I think I have room for the ice maker on the kitchen counter. Now it is the bar area which I emptied entirely this afternoon. I will now be doing the dining area and this area at the same time. The hallway closet is also taking shape. Hubby will now be able to find all his tools and then some. I do miss not having a basement, so storage is at a premium. But at least everything from now on will have a place. So good to start seeing the improvements. I really want to be done before the scheduled surgery. Somehow or other I will try to fit in a hair cut and one for hubby also. The cardiologist phoned today to make an appointment. I will call tomorrow and hopefully they work on Wednesdays. If not, the next day.
I will keep you posted. -
@Sheba
Good Afternoon Sheba, I hope your day is going well. We have a misty-rainy day all day, chilly weather and of course makes the inside of the house chilly too. Hubby got in from work and turn on the heat before jumping in the shower. Which he also undress in the garage, since he works in a hospital.
I greeded hubby from work with a large pot of healthy soup. It has home made chicken broth, onions, garlic, carrots, celery. About 4 bay leaves, lots of fresh Thyme, oregano, sage, a whole bunch of parsley chopped finely and half bunch Cilantro. Remember I use herbs like medicine.
I made a jar of extra virgin olive oil with 4 large cloves of garlic and lots of dried Oregano. I like keeping it on the counter. I diced tomatoes and fresh parsley and cilantro added some of that Olive oil and opened a container of fresh Burrata to make a salad. I will toast some bread in the oven for me.
Dragon, the White-Faced Fawn is one of the most beautiful deer I have seen, even in pictures. Just lovely, those blue eyes, white face and pink nose, his fur must he unique. I hope he makes it and lives a long life.
Take care Sheba, stay warm and safe. -
@oodiebom
Hello and good afternoon Oodie, I hope you and your husband are doing well today.
I wanted to share a time when on vacation we stayed in Fort Myers Beach. It was many years ago. On that beach, it was covered with Sand Dollars. Small little ones, medium ones and large ones. I was taken back by so many all along the beach.
Fort Myers Beach has lots and lots of restaurants, Hotels and Hotels Resorts. We stayed at the Outrigger, at the time they give food vouchers, and a coupon for a free bottle of wine if you went to a certain restaurant. Which we took advantage of and dined at the restaurant. I don’t remember the name of it. But the wine was a Rose and I remember being delicious.
I remember that Sanibel Island is about seven miles from Fort Myers beach.
Take care Oodie, be safe. -

I barely made it up to see Nathan Chen, I think it was after midnight in the ‘burgh, surprised skating wasn’t on a little earlier. So happy for him and also the US skier⛷ who got the silver for the Super-G.🥈 Only four one hundredths of a second off gold, I can’t comprehend that. Maybe Chen will be our first gold medal.🥇
Not sure if I’ll hear from mom, sis said if she got a good wi-fi connection somewhere she would shoot me an email. Just hoping all is well and they are having fun.😍
Soup for dinner,🥣 something easy as I will be flipping between hockey and Olympics, will end up with trigger finger after tonight.😮

Emotional Attacks
You cannot control other people’s emotions, but you can control your own.
Hurtful confrontations often leave us feeling drained and confused. When someone attacks us emotionally, we may wonder what we did to rouse their anger, and we take their actions personally. We may ask ourselves what we could have done to compel them to behave or speak that way toward us. It’s important to remember that there are no real targets in an emotional attack and that it is usually a way for the attacker to redirect their uncomfortable feelings away from themselves. When people are overcome by strong emotions, like hurt or anguish, they may see themselves as victims and lash out at others as a means of protection or to make themselves feel better. You may be able to shield yourself from an emotional attack by not taking the behavior personally. First, however, it is good to cultivate a state of detachment that can provide you with some protection from the person who is attacking you. This will allow you to feel compassion for this person and remember that their behavior isn’t as much about you as it is about their need to vent their emotions.
If you have difficulty remaining unaffected by someone’s behavior, take a moment to breathe deeply and remind yourself that you didn’t do anything wrong, and you aren’t responsible for people’s feelings. If you can see that this person is indirectly expressing a need to you — whether they are reaching out for help or wanting to be heard — you may be able to diffuse the attack by getting them to talk about what is really bothering them.
You cannot control other people’s emotions, but you can control your own. If you sense yourself responding to their negativity, try not to let yourself. Keep your heart open to them, and they may let go of their defensiveness and yield to your compassion and openness.
AMEN! ✨✨✨
