Conversation – 17
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 17 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 8 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

To continue:
I may be putting “the horse before the cart.” I did not realize that hubby had a heart problem until very recently. The hospital would not sign off on the surgery until he is seen by a cardiologist. I do remember the time he had surgery in Ct. and when it was over the surgeon came out and told me he had problems keeping his heart from jumping all over the place and his blood pressure down. He also mentioned that he may have to stay overnight in the hospital just to be sure he was OK. I understood. As it turned out everything went back to normal following the surgery. So I now wonder if the same thing is happening when he gets nervous. Then again, before jumping to conclusions, will wait for the prognosis from the cardiologist. I have checked this physician out and he is loved by all his patients. I cannot say the same for the group I’m trying to get my husband to see. I still plan to go into Boston with him so we can have a second opinion and someone we can see when we return.
The traffic is a huge concern for me. Hubby’s knee does lock in place from time to time. He needs to get out of the vehicle every 50 miles or less. Due to traffic constraints I could be looking at hours just to get from one rest area to the next. Yes, we could get off the highway and stop somewhere for a cold drink and walk the parking lot. But, the traffic is still a problem when we try to hop on to the interstate. I am looking at 11-15 hours just to get to Georgia. This reminds me of Thanksgiving Day when we left Savannah at 8 am and arrived home at 9 pm. We were both hungry. No food in the house. But luckily, our Wifi was working and we did find a restaurant that was opened until 10 pm. And it was right around the corner. But then he wasn’t complaining about his knee or lower back.
Now you know my concerns. I was right about the last trip in which he ended up in the hospital and rehab for a month or so. My gut feeling is to see what the cardiologist says and when the surgery can be performed here. It is, I believe and feel, the lesser of all evils. We have been away over two years. So waiting a few months may be the way to go. Meanwhile, the house will look beautiful on the inside and I will have the outside powered washed and all will be good. Now to get some shuteye.

I’m trying to convince hubby that seeing the cardiologist and having the knee surgery here is the best way to go. He forgets that our home in Ct..is a raised ranch and there are six steps to climb before arriving on the main floor. He also forgets that there are three steps before setting a foot on the landing inside. There are orthopedic surgeons in the area but I do not like the hospitals, though parking would be easy. Then there is Boston which is about an hour and a half from the Cape. Bus would be the best way to go, however getting on and off may be another issue. Yes, I could drive. However, parking would be the main issue here. But then again, it would depend upon where the doctor’s office is and then work around that. As luck would have it, the same office we are using here, there is one in Rhode Island as well as in Boston. Different physicians of course, but being the same organization, they do talk to one another. This definitely would be a choice if we return. Of course, it could mean a hotel stay. But if they have a shuttle, that would be a plus.
The traffic today was awful. But, it has been like this for over a month. It doesn’t matter which direction. North or South is bad. We leave an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes before doctor appointments. Have no idea if there are accidents or construction or both. Just not sure which way we will turn. The other side that concerns me is the length of time it will take to get to an area where he can walk around. His knee keeps locking in place and he has fallen once outside.
Luckily, no injuries. To say I am very concerned is an understatement. I may be jumping the gun. He has a cardiologist appointment in two weeks. The surgery will not be rescheduled until after this appointment. I have no idea what is going on and as far as I can tell the Radiologist who read the test results said I had to postpone everything until he is seen and the cardiologist gives an approval for surgery. I would rather be safe than sorry. I have a feeling there is more to this than what I have been told. I will know better at the appointment. Those flowers are lovely. Hibiscus is my favorite. Unfortunately, being North and South does have some problems. Just not sure if the hibiscus would be strong enough for the harsh winters in the Northeast. I have three on the side of our home here in Florida. They bloom all year round. However, right now they are a bit straggly and I will be cutting them back quite a bit during the weekend. I don’t know what causes them to rejuvenate, but by the time I return in the fall, they will be in full bloom. Take care of yourself and try not to overdo it.

is trying to figure it out. Anyway I feel a good time was had by all. 🌹😘😎 -
As you may have seen in Trivia, I am starting to plan our trip North. Hubby has an appointment with a cardiologist in two weeks. He plans to ask if he can drive and head North about 1300 miles, but who’s counting. He thinks the surgery will be easier in either Ct. or the Cape. I’m actually sitting here and fuming. We had to make another trip to Costco today. The Interstate is a bottleneck. To go 2 miles took 25 minutes. He wants to leave in less than a month weather permitting. What he doesn’t realize is that we have quite a number of stairs just to get to the first floor in Ct.. I am not a lover of the hospitals in the area. Boston is OK. But will he be able to climb the steps to get on to a bus. There is absolutely no parking in Boston. The other thing I am looking at are hotels that have a shuttle back and forth between the doctor’s office as well as the hospital. Right now, it’s a big question mark.
Oops, time for the next question. Will write more later.
