Conversation – 17
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 17 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 8 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

I had the same feeling after my last fir baby (kitty). They are a delight and when they leave us it’s a heartache that stays with us. But there comes a time when you miss the pitter patter of their paws and though you dread the loss it is something you cannot live without. I’m now ready, but unfortunately the community we are in do not accept pets. I suppose I qualify for a service animal, and there are a few who do have one. However, they do not pick up what they leave and the community is up in arms and are now looking for ways to say no more. Someday you will be ready. Maybe not today or tomorrow. But someday.

Hubby’s appointment is tomorrow afternoon. I am making a list of his meds which include vitamins for the physician. They called late yesterday to confirm the appointment. I will be driving Mr. Daisy and we will probably leave an hour prior. Just not sure where the doctor’s offices are and I hate making a mistake. We both will wear our masks. And fingers crossed that I don’t start coughing, though I will be carrying the meds. The coughing is easing a bit. Today was a good day and I hope tomorrow will be also. We expect some rain tonight and tomorrow so that should keep the sinuses at bay.
The week is going too fast for me. Hubby and I watched C-Span for three days for the confirmation hearings on the possibility of Judge Jackson joining the Supreme Court. It was very interesting and some pertinent info came out which could be a question. though she did a great job overall.

Hello Sheba, I hope you had a great day rain and all. Rainy Days and Mondays always get me down. I think that’s how that song from Karen Carpenter goes.
I can use some of the rain down here, thanks for wanting to send me some. If we don’t get some soon, I will have to water my plants. 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌹🌹🌹
Today I cooked something hubby can also eat. Marinated pieces of chicken breast in yogurt and lime. Sauteed it with onions and garlic. Then sauteed a bunch of vegetable( green beans, carrots, lima beans, broccoli, cauliflower,) with onions and green pepper. And also made cauliflower rice. He has seconds.☺ -
Wouldn’t It Be Loverly/My Fair Lady
It’s rather dull in town, I think I’ll take me to Paris, hmm
The mistress wants to open up the castle in Capri, hmm
Me doctor recommends a quiet summer by the sea, hmm, mmm
Wouldn’t it be loverly?
All I want is a room somewhere
Far away from the cold night air
With one enormous chair
Oh, wouldn’t it be loverly?
Lots of chocolate for me to eat
Lots of coal makin’ lots of heat
Warm face, warm hands, warm feet
Oh, wouldn’t it be loverly?
Oh, so lovely sittin’ abso-bloomin’-lutely still
I would never budge till spring
Crept over me window sill
Someone’s head restin’ on my knee
Warm and tender as he can be
Who takes good care of me
Oh, wouldn’t it be loverly?
Loverly, loverly
Loverly, loverly
All I want is a room somewhere
Far away from the cold night air
With one enormous chair)
Oh, wouldn’t it be loverly?
Lots of chocolate for me to eat
Lots of coal makin’ lots of heat
Warm face, warm hands, warm feet
Oh, wouldn’t it be loverly?
Oh, so lovely sittin’ abso-bloomin’-lutely still
I would never budge till spring
Crept over me window sill
Someone’s head restin’ on my knee
Warm and tender as she can be)

I’ve Grown Accustomed to Her Face
Rex Harrison! ! ! !
I’ve grown accustomed to her face
She almost makes the day begin
I’ve grown accustomed to the tune
That she whistles night and noon
Her smiles, her frowns
Her ups, her downs
Are second nature to me now
Like breathing out and breathing in
I was serenely independent and content before we met
Surely I could always be that way again
And yet
I’ve grown accustomed to her look
Accustomed to her voice
Accustomed to her face
“Marry Freddy.”
What an infantile idea. What a heartless, wicked, brainless thing to do
But she’ll regret it, she’ll regret it!
It’s doomed before they even take the vow
I can see her now, Mrs. Freddy Eynsford-Hill
In a wretched little flat above a store
I can see her now, not a penny in the till
And a bill collector beating at the door
She’ll try to teach the things I taught her
And end up selling flowers instead
Begging for her bread and water
While her husband has his breakfast in bed
In a year, or so, when she’s prematurely grey
And the blossom in her cheek has turned to chalk
She’ll come home, and lo, he’ll have upped and run away
With a social-climbing heiress from New York
Poor Eliza. How simply frightful!
How humiliating! How delightful!
How poignant it’ll be on that inevitable night
When she hammers on my door in tears and rags
Miserable and lonely, repentant and contrite
Will I take her in or hurl her to the walls?
Give her kindness or the treatment she deserves?
Will I take her back or throw the baggage out?
But I’m a most forgiving man
The sort who never could, ever would
Take a position and staunchly never budge
A most forgiving man
But, I shall never take her back
If she were even crawling on her knees
Let her promise to atone
Let her shiver, let her moan
I’ll slam the door and let the -cat freeze!
“Marry Freddy”-h a!
But I’m so used to hear her say
“Good morning” ev’ry day
Her joys, her woes
Her highs, her lows
Are second nature to me now
Like breathing out and breathing in
I’m very grateful she’s a woman
And so easy to forget
Rather like a habit one can always break
And yet, I’ve grown accustomed to the trace
Of something in the air
Accustomed to her face -
Peace Out Peeps. ✨✨Enjoy your evening.

The Hills Are Alive
Song by Julie AndrewsThe hills are alive with the sound of music
With songs they have sung for a thousand years
The hills fill my heart with the sound of music
My heart wants to sing every song it hears
My heart wants to beat like the wings of the birds
That rise from the lake to the trees
My heart wants to sigh like a chime that flies
From a church on a breeze
To laugh like a brook when it trips and falls over
Stones on its way
To sing through the night like a lark who is learning to pray
I go to the hills when my heart is lonely
I know I will hear what I’ve heard before
My heart will be blessed with the sound of music
And I’ll sing once more -
I Could Have Danced All Night/ My Fair Lady
Bed, bed I couldn’t go to bed
My head’s too light to try to set it down
Sleep, sleep I couldn’t sleep tonight
Not for all the jewels in the crown
I could have danced all night
I could have danced all night
And still have begged for more
I could have spread my wings and done a thousand things
I’ve never done before
I’ll never know what made it so exciting
Why all at once my heart took flight
I only know when he began to dance with me
I could have danced, danced, danced all night
It’s after three now
Don’t you agree now?
She ought to be in bed!
I could have danced all night, I could have danced all night
And still have begged for more
I could have spread my wings and done a thousand things
I’ve never done before
I’ll never know what made it so exciting
Why all at once my heart took flight
I only know when he began to dance with me
I could have danced, danced, danced all night
I understand, dear
It’s all been grand, dear
But now it’s time to sleep
I could have danced all night, I could have danced all night
And still have begged for more
I could have spread my wings and done a thousand things
I’ve never done before
I’ll never know what made it so exciting
Why all at once my heart took flight
I only know when he began to dance with me
I could have danced, danced, danced all night -
On the Street Where You Live
Song by John Michael King/My Fair LadyI have often walked down this street before
But the pavement always stayed beneath my feet before
All at once am I several stories high
Knowing I’m on the street where you live
Are there lilac trees in the heart of town?
Can you hear a lark in any other part of town?
Does enchantment pour out of every door?
No, it’s just on the street where you live
And oh, the towering feeling
Just to know somehow you are near
The overpowering feeling
That any second you may suddenly appear
People stop and stare, they don’t bother me
For there’s nowhere else on earth that I would rather be
Let the time go by, I won’t care
If I can be here on the street where you live
People stop and stare, they don’t bother me
For there’s nowhere else on earth that I would rather be
Let the time go by, I won’t care
If I can be here on the street where you live -
Climb Every Mountain
Song by Oscar Hammerstein II and Richard RodgersClimb every mountain
Search high and low
Follow every byway
Every path you know
Climb every mountain
Ford every stream
Follow every rainbow
Till you find your dream
A dream that will need
All the love you can give
Every day of your life
For as long as you live
Climb every mountain
Ford every stream
Follow every rainbow
Till you find your dream
A dream that will need
All the love you can give
Every day of your life
For as long as you live
Climb every mountain
Ford every stream
Follow every rainbow
Till you find your dream -
The Rain in Spain – My Fair Lady
Poor Professor Higgins!
Poor Professor Higgins!
Night and day
He slaves away!
Oh, poor Professor Higgins!
All day long
On his feet;
Up and down until he’s numb;
Doesn’t rest;
Doesn’t eat;
Doesn’t touch a crumb!
Poor Professor Higgins!
Poor Professor Higgins!
On he plods
Against all odds;
Oh, poor Professor Higgins!
Nine p.m.
Ten p.m.
On through midnight ev’ry night.
One a.m.
Two a.m.
Three…!
Quit, Professor Higgins!
Quit, Professor Higgins!
Hear our plea
Or payday we
Will quit, Professor Higgins!
Ay not I,
O not Ow,
Pounding pounding in our brain.
Ay not I,
O not Ow,
Don’t say “Rine, ” say “Rain”
The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain!
By George, she’s got it!
By George, she’s got it!
Now, once again where does it rain?
On the plain! On the plain!
And where’s that soggy plain?
In Spain! In Spain!
The three
The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain!
The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain!
In Hartford, Hereford, and Hampshire…?
Hurricanes hardly happen.
How kind of you to let me come!
Now once again, where does it rain?
On the plain! On the plain!
And where’s that blasted plain?
In Spain! In Spain!
The three
The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain!
The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain! -
The puppy pics are adorable, in fact, all puppies are adorable.🐶 If I had tons of money, I would be like Betty White and help out all shelters, reserves, zoos, etc. Still missing my boy. I know my husband wants another one but I just can’t go through the heartbreak again.😪
Renee is so good, love all the expressions on her face.🙄 Such a tragedy this is real life.
We will have some storms tonight, getting your weather over the weekend, highs only in the mid thirties.🥶 Snow showers on Sunday, sure doesn’t sound like spring. Hockey team won and I celebrated with the tasty drink you made me.👍🍸🥰
