Hi and a good evening. Trivia is now over for another week. Game night seems to go all to fast. Anyway, it was a pretty busy day here. No phone call from the neurologist which means the surgery may have to be rescheduled. Oh MY !!!!! I did leave word with the surgeon’s assistants and hopefully I will hear early next week. I also checked on our home owner’s insurance. Hadn’t received a bill and thought it was due in February. Found out we are OK through the end of August. That is one thing off the list.

I am now finding out that some of hubby’s memory has been lost. This afternoon I was doing some other things and noticed that the sky was darkening in the West. I asked hubby to turn the computer off and to unplug everything on the desk. He could not remember how to shut down. I made him sit at the computer and taught him what to do. It’s been about a year since he paid the bills and looked at his e-mail and even read the news. So today I showed him how to close the computer and tomorrow I will see if he remembers. Not sure if it’s dementia or that he is in so much pain that the brain is not able to comprehend. The day he went for the surgery last month, he became his old self while being blocked from pain. He was good to go until the block wore off. It was like day and night. It will be interesting to see what happens following the surgical procedure. That is, if we ever get it done.

I did read about the person who contacted polio. It seems he was out of the country for quite a number of weeks and the strain he has did come from overseas. The doctors are unsure if this strain can be passed on from person to person. Only time will tell. It also turned out that this person was never vaccinated for polio. He is home now and having problems walking, but the physicians feel that he will have a complete recovery.

Well, it’s that time again. I’m recharging the Kindle so I can sit down and work on some jigsaw puzzles. Please try to stay cool. Maybe you should think about a pool for Poppy. Enjoy what is left for today. I think I will call it a night.

Good hot afternoon to you.🔥 Around 90 here with humidity but we do have a big breeze today. My retractable awning rolled back by itself twice so I knew it was a strong wind. Pretty much the same for the next couple days. Husband will be melting on the golf course Sunday.😩

Thank you for what looks like a frozen blue margarita, I wanted to pull it off the screen.😘 I think I will stay in all weekend. I will check with mom and sis tonight and if they don’t need anything I plan to stay home tomorrow. My nieces are on their way to Pinehurst for two weeks for the US Kids World Golf Championship.⛳ This tournament shows them how many really good golfers there are in the world.

Time for a few more frozen drinks to stay cool.🍧🍹 Haven’t forgotten Poppy, sending him some Frosty Paws.🍦

Hidden Gems & Silver Linings

Life is full of buried treasures. Chances are, you’re sitting on some right now.

Sometimes we have an experience that we don’t understand, but if we look deeply, or wait long enough, a reason for that experience will usually reveal itself. All the events in our lives lead to other events, and all that we have manifested in this present moment is the result of past events and experiences. We cannot easily tease apart the many threads that have been woven together to create our current reality. Experiences that don’t make sense, as well as any that we regret, are just as responsible for the good things in our lives as the experiences we do understand or label as “good.”

This is especially important to remember at times when we feel directionless or unsure of what to do. It is often at times like these that we take a job or move to a place without really knowing if it’s the right thing to do. We may ultimately end up leaving the job or the place, but often during that time we will have met someone who becomes an important friend, or we may have an experience that changes us in a profound way. When all the pieces of our life don’t quite make sense, we can remember that there may be some hidden gem of a reason that we are where we are having the experiences we are having.

It’s fun to look back on past experiences with an eye to uncovering those gems—the dreadful temporary job in a bland office building that introduced you to the love of your life; the roommate you couldn’t tolerate who gave you a book that changed your life; the time spent living in a city you didn’t like that led you into a deeper relationship with yourself. Remembering these past experiences can restore our faith in the present. Life is full of buried treasures. Chances are, you’re sitting on some right now. Amen! ✨✨
