Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 17 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 8 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎

I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

    Hazy Shade of Winter
    Song by The Bangles

    Time, time, time
    See what’s become of me
    Time, time, time
    See what’s become of me
While I looked around for my possibilities
I was so hard to please
    Look around
    Leaves are brown
And the sky is a hazy shade of winter
    Hear the Salvation Army band
    Down by the riverside
Bound to be a better ride
    Than what you’ve got planned
Carry your gun in your hand
    Look around
    Leaves are brown
And the sky is a hazy shade of winter
Hang on to your hopes, my friend
That’s an easy thing to say
But if your hopes should pass away
Simply pretend that you can build them again
    Look around
    The grass is high
    The fields are ripe
It’s the springtime of my life
    Seasons change with the scenery
    Weavin’ time in a tapestry
Won’t you stop and remember me?
    Look around
    Leaves are brown
And the sky is a hazy shade of winter
    Look around
    Leaves are brown
There’s a patch of snow on the ground
    Look around
    Leaves are brown
There’s a patch of snow on the ground
    Look around
    Leaves are brown
There’s a patch of snow on the ground

    I Am a Rock
    Song by Simon & Garfunkel

    A winter’s day
In a deep and dark December
    I am alone
Gazing from my window to the streets below
On a freshly fallen silent shroud of snow
I am a rock I am an island
    I’ve built walls
    A fortress deep and mighty
    That none may penetrate
I have no need of friendship, friendship causes pains
    It’s laughter and it’s loving I disdain
I am a rock I am an island
    Don’t talk of love
Well I’ve heard the word before
    It’s sleeping in my memory
I won’t disturb the slumber of feelings that have died
If I never loved I never would have cried
I am a rock I am an island
    I have my books
And my poetry to protect me
I am shielded in my armor
Hiding in my room safe within my womb
I touch no one and no one touches me
I am a rock I am an island
And a rock feels no pain
    And an island never cries

    Scarborough Fair / Canticle
    Song by Simon & Garfunkel

Are you going to Scarborough Fair?
    Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme
Remember me to one who lives there
She once was a true love of mine
Tell her to make me a cambric shirt (in the deep forest green)
    Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme
(Tracing of sparrow on snow-crested ground)
Without no seams nor needle work
(Bedclothes the child of the mountain)
Then she’ll be a true love of mine
(Sleeps unaware of the clarion call)
Tell her to find me an acre of land
    (A sprinkling of leaves)
    Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
(Washes the grave with silvery tears)
Between the salt water and the sea strands
    (And polishes a gun)
Then she’ll be a true love of mine
Tell her to reap it with a sickle of leather
    (Blazing in scarlet battalions)
    Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme
(Generals order their soldiers to kill)
And gather it all in a bunch of heather
(A cause they’ve long ago forgotten)
Then she’ll be a true love of mine
Are you going to Scarborough Fair?
    Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme
Remember me to one who lives there
She once was a true love of mine

    Mrs. Robinson
    Song by Simon & Garfunkel

And here’s to you, Mrs. Robinson
Jesus loves you more than you will know
    Whoa, whoa, whoa
God bless you, please, Mrs. Robinson
Heaven holds a place for those who pray
    Hey, hey, hey
    Hey, hey, hey
We’d like to know a little bit about you for our files
We’d like to help you learn to help yourself
Look around you, all you see are sympathetic eyes
Stroll around the grounds until you feel at home
And here’s to you, Mrs. Robinson
Jesus loves you more than you will know
    Whoa, whoa, whoa
God bless you, please, Mrs. Robinson
Heaven holds a place for those who pray
    Hey, hey, hey
    Hey, hey, hey
Hide it in a hiding place where no one ever goes
Put it in your pantry with your cupcakes
It’s a little secret, just the Robinson’s affair
Most of all, you’ve got to hide it from the kids
    Coo, coo, ca-choo, Mrs. Robinson
Jesus loves you more than you will know
    Whoa, whoa, whoa
God bless you, please, Mrs. Robinson
Heaven holds a place for those who pray
    Hey, hey, hey
    Hey, hey, hey
Sitting on a sofa on a Sunday afternoon
    Going to the candidates debate
Laugh about it, shout about it
    When you’ve got to choose
Every way you look at this, you lose
Where have you gone, Joe DiMaggio?
Our nation turns its lonely eyes to you
    Woo, woo, woo
What’s that you say, Mrs. Robinson?
Joltin’ Joe has left and gone away
    Hey, hey, hey
    Hey, hey, hey

    The Sound of Silence
    Song by Disturbed

    Hello darkness, my old friend
I’ve come to talk with you again
    Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
    Still remains
    Within the sound of silence
In restless dreams, I walked alone
    Narrow streets of cobblestone
‘Neath the halo of a street lamp
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light
    That split the night
And touched the sound of silence
And in the naked light, I saw
    Ten thousand people, maybe more
    People talking without speaking
    People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never shared
    And no one dared
    Disturb the sound of silence
“Fools” said I, “You do not know
    Silence like a cancer grows
Hear my words that I might teach you
Take my arms that I might reach you”
But my words, like silent raindrops fell
And echoed in the wells of silence
And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon god they made
And the sign flashed out its warning
In the words that it was forming
Then the sign said, “The words on the prophets are written on the subway walls
    In tenement halls”
And whispered in the sound of silence

Hello Oodie, how are you and your husband doing?
I hope and pray that you get all the answers and tests you need.
I left you a song the other day, don’t know if you got to see it. It’s called, I Wish You
Love. It’s by Paul Anka, it was sent to me by a friend and I thought about you.
Let us know how you are doing Oodie when you get a chance.
    Take care Oodie 🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴

Hello Sheba, I love to read about Charlie. We have a beautiful day here, and hope you are having the same.
The other day before the full moon I cut lots and lots of sage. I planted in the front of the house in large pots. It grew so much, large leaves and it spreads all over. Also I cut Oregano, Rosemary and Bay leaves. Placed them in old fashioned ice trays I got at the dollar store. Filled it with Olive oil and frozen them. Then removed from the trays and placed in freezer plastic bags.
In the Winter I will have fresh herbs to made my soups and all my cooking.
I am concerned about Oodie, I hope all her questions are answered. And the tests are done.
The good news I wrote about yesterday is, husband is cleared for work. And will start driving in about one week.😊 Yesterday his Cardiologist give him the green light. He goes for a stress test next week and then after he can start Cardio rehab.
He has improved much, and is getting better with each day. I can’t thank you and many others enough for all the prayers.
Take care Sheba and enjoy your walks with Poppy and your visits with Charlie.

      @xango

Hi and a great afternoon and evening to both of you. I am a bit jealous. Your husband is coming along great with your care while I sit here wishing my hubby could have the surgery and be done already. I do have some news that I will be sharing under oodiebom. And yes, I did thank you the same day that you sent Paul Anka. It came at the right time and at the right place. Music has always made me feel better and has always lifted my spirits when I’m down or facing something new. Luckily I can go back to that from time to time.

I have tried to grow fresh spices on the Cape. But, for some reason they just never took to the soil I used. Haven’t tried them in Florida, but may once the side of our home is taken care of. It’s a stone area and the weeds just love it. The rain has helped them to grow. I contacted a landscaper and we will have the stone removed and have grass planted. At least when we are away that area will be mowed. Reading your posts, I just may give it a try here. I have containers and soil. It would be great to have fresh spices for a change. And, they do make a meal taste delicious. Hubby thinks I’m a gourmet cook. But it’s the spices and our Air Fryer that does the work.

I am now talking about a trip to Brandon for our Asian dishes. It may be the change that hubby needs to get through the rest of this month and next. Take care of yourself and stay safe.

Good afternoon to you. Ran around all morning getting things done since tomorrow is mom Friday and I won’t have time. Bought a pumpkin for the front landingπŸŽƒ and will hang my Fall wreath on the door. Mom’s rug was delivered this morning so I will unpack it tomorrow and place it in her room – too heavy for her and I don’t want her falling. I hope she will like it.😊

How is Poppy doing, does he get along with Charlie?🐢🐈 That is so sweet that you are his second mom for all these years.πŸ’• Loved the Dalmatian pic from yesterday.πŸ’–

BIL is hanging in there. His gallbladder surgery is scheduled for 10/10 but with all his problems, who knows? Things change very quickly with him.πŸ˜•

Our weather is great, warmer by the weekend. I did see RF announced his retirement.😞 Time for some new champs. Have a relaxing evening, sending hugs to you and Poppy.πŸ€—πŸŒ»

    Stepping Into Freedom

Waking up to the fact that something needs to change in our lives is the first step to realizing our dreams.

We have all had the experience of realizing that something in our lives is not working. This knowledge can come as a sudden realization or a nagging feeling of doubt that grows stronger, waking us up to the fact that something needs to change. Some people have a tendency to act rashly and make sweeping changes before even understanding what the problem is. Other people fear change, so they live with the uncomfortable awareness that something needs to shift but don’t do anything about it. Between these two extreme responses lies a middle way that can help us powerfully and gracefully change what isn’t working.

The first step is remembering that your life is made up of parts that belong to an interconnected whole. Changing one thing can change everything. Because of this, small changes often have a big effect. Sometimes much bigger changes are necessary, but the only way to know for sure is to take the time to really understand the problem. Examine your life in its entirety β€” your work, your relationships, where you live β€” and determine what specifically is not functioning the way you would like. Once you have figured out the problem, write it down on a piece of paper. For example, β€œI am not happy with my relationship” or β€œI don’t like my apartment.” The next step is to figure out the adjustment you would like to make and how you can go about making this change.

If you are unhappy with your relationship because you spend too much or not enough time with your partner, you may want to discuss this problem with them and come up with a compromise. On the other hand, if you realize your relationship is not working to such a degree that it needs to end, begin working through that process. Writing down the truth can be a powerful catalyst for change.

The key to making changes that work is to accept the necessity of change as part of life. As we change, we may find it necessary to fine-tune our relationships, work, and living situations. Our lives are living, breathing entities that reflect our dynamic selves. AMEN! ✨✨
