Conversation – 17
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 17 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 8 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

Can You Read My Mind
Maureen McGovernCan you read my mind?
Do you know what it is you do to me?
Don’t know who you are
Just a friend from another star.
Here I am, like a kid at the school
Holding hands with a god or a fool
Will you look at me, quivering,
Like a little girl, shivering,
You can see right through me.
Can you read my mind?
Can you picture the things I’m thinking of?
Wondering why you are
All the wonderful things you are.
You can fly, you belong to the sky
You and I could belong to each other.
If you need a friend,
I’m the one to fly too
If you need, to be loved
Here I am,
Read my mind! -
The Morning After
Maureen McGovernThere’s got to be a morning after
If we can hold on through the night
We have a chance to find the sunshine
Let’s keep on looking for the light
Oh, can’t you see the morning after?
It’s waiting right outside the storm
Why don’t we cross the bridge together
And find a place that’s safe and warm?
It’s not too late, we should be giving
Only with love can we climb
It’s not too late, not while we’re living
Let’s put our hands out in time
There’s got to be a morning after
We’re moving closer to the shore
I know we’ll be there by tomorrow
And we’ll escape the darkness
We won’t be searching anymore
There’s got to be a morning after
(There’s got to be a morning after)
There’s got to be a morning after
(There’s got to be a morning after)
There’s got to be a morning after
(There’s got to be a morning after) -

Good afternoon to you. Laid low yesterday because I was quite tired. Mom probably wore me out, lol!🤣 I burn candles in many rooms so ran out this morning to replenish my supply. Did a little yard work since the weather is beautiful.
Found out this morning that a good friend has cancer.☹ For many years, her and her husband watched all our dogs when we would go on vacation or be out of town. More prayers to be offered🙏 and she said she is going to fight it with chemo and radiation. She is a pediatric nurse and deals with children who have cancer so she is well aware of what to expect.😥
Thanks for the chuckle, sending hugs west to your household.🤗🥰

@Sheba🍁🍁🍁🍁🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁
Hello Sheba, I hope you are having a good day. And that your mom and family are doing better.
As of now Ian is coming to Florida, it brings lots of water and wind. We are not in a evacuation zone. Yesterday I removed the rest and all that was left from the back yard.
I also started the front of the house. Removed some pots that could be removed for now. Filled others with soil to make them heavy. It’s something I have been wanting to do, but had to put it off do to hubby’s operation.
There’s still things to do in the front but will wait to see if I will need to. Like taking the none super large pots and placing them in the garage.
Of course I will wash everything before the storm gets to Florida. We have the necessary items and I will bake some things too.
I am worried about Oodie, don’t know what zone they are in. And if they will need to leave. I wish I knew exactly where they are at. I know she mentioned they have been through Northeastern storms before but, Florida hurricanes are different.
How is Poppy and Charlie doing?
Take care Sheba 🦋 🌻 🍁 -
Hi and a good afternoon to the two of you and your two “kids.” Had a phone call from the neurologist office. They were interested in changing our appointment from Columbus weekend to tomorrow. We went for it. They will be sending a form with tons of questions and the office will contact us tomorrow. for additional questions if needed. I can do most things with this computer except talk. No mike. There are two other computers but the virus software would have to be updated. I surmise if that is necessary, I can always use the cell, which reminds me it needs to be recharged.
I guess all eyes are on Florida and the up and coming Hurricane now named Ian. Depending upon who you listen to one needs to evacuate now or by 8 am Tuesday morning. Last night I did look at some hotels near us. Most were not available. I imagine it’s because of the storm. Did manage to find one not far from us with an opening. That was last night. However, even if Ian is not near us, the reservation cannot be cancelled. So, like many of us, waiting for more info. We are approximately one hour South of Tampa. With traffic, it’s anyone’s guess how long it will take. I will keep everyone up to date on what is happening and where we will be. I am leaning towards a hotel stay. Weather permitting as well as electrical, we could return home to check things out anytime. It’s just that the hotel is built differently and may be the better option. Hubby wants to stay put. Me, I will do what is necessary. Yes, there are places we could drive to for shelter. However, with Covid being high here, that would not be a good option. Too many in an enclosed area, not good.
Xango seems to be in a safer environment. I am hoping her hubby will have the rest of the week off considering the time and how long it takes. I fear for his safety and really surprised that there was no recommendation or consideration to work part time for one week or more.
I am now going to check on Spectrum for the latest developments. -

Reclaiming Our Roots
We are of the earth.
Some cultures are more rooted to the earth and connected to their inherent spirituality. But every one of us, even those of us who have been disconnected from our roots for hundreds of years, comes from a place that was once inhabited by people who worshipped and honored the earth on which they lived. In other words, we can all claim this wisdom as an essential part of who we are.
One way we can begin to rediscover our roots is to explore the early earth-based religions practiced in the parts of the world that birthed our ancestors. If we explore the ancient spiritual practices of our ancestors, we will find that their practices and beliefs share many elements with Native American, African, and aboriginal religious traditions. People who are connected to the earth and honor her share a fundamental philosophy that is part of our legacy because we, too, are of the earth. Many of us have become so disconnected from the earth that it feels foreign and awkward to imagine communing with her or performing a ritual for her. If we are honest, though, we will find within ourselves yearning to feel more connected, more grounded, and more at home in this world. This yearning can lead us back to our forgotten roots, which, of course, leads us right into the heart of the earth.
As we begin to more clearly see the people we come from, we can begin to alter our perception of who we are now, laying claim to our inherent connection to the earth. We might celebrate this by observing the ancient calendar of solstices and equinoxes, celebrating and honoring the cycle of the seasons as our ancestors did, or exploring any one of the many earth-based practices through reading or participating in ritual. When we do these things, we tap back into our roots and can often find nourishment through our earthly origins — something we share with all of humanity. AMEN! ✨✨
