Conversation – 17
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 17 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 8 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

Well, here we are still at home. The motel/hotel phoned at 9:30 am to inform us they were being evacuated along with over 300 guests. That also included the hotels and motels in and around the area. There is another hotel in the area that is over 4 stories high. I was thinking about this one as well, but reading further there are no elevators. And yes, they would give you the info once you pay a non refundable fee for the days you will be their guest so to speak. I know hubby will not be able to climb those stairs and so I let it pass.
Just before 9:45 AM received a call from the neurologist. This was the first time ever that we had visual contact in our home using a cell phone. It wasn’t easy. We kept losing contact. Guess it’s time for me to bite the bullet and look into an I-Phone. But, I really enjoy the MOJO. Anyway, hubby had tons of questions to answer and the outcome is that he doesn’t think it’s Parkinsons.
He had hubby walk around, swing his arms, I had to rotate his wrists, etc.. Since the falling out of bed may not be Parkinsons, he did recommend a bed rail which I will purchase after the storm passes. He also recommended an over the counter oil called CBD which I can purchase at the Farmer’s Market. It comes with a stopper and I have to give hubby a half dose. For some reason that should stop the nightmares and the falling out of bed. Now, in a sense I am at my wits end in that there is something causing hubby to have this problem. So my next move is to check with the pharmacist to see if his prescripts may be the culprit. This last part is my idea. I was the pharmacist’s daughter and the one thing dad impressed me with is to ask about side effects. Of course I didn’t do this with hubby’s medication after returning from Savannah. He was falling out of bed prior to this when I started blaming the mattress because it more or less looked like a slide on his end. Oh yes, the neurologist mentioned no more alcoholic beverages, not even a sip. Next appoiontment is October 25th. By then we should know how the oil is working. For tonight we will remain home. There is an emergency area not far from our home which we can go to. Looks like we have a reprieve until tomorrow afternoon. Not sure if we will use it, but it’s the only thing available and 7 miles from us. The Covid crisis in Florida is high and my concern is being with loads of people. Not many are wearing masks. Actually, the footage shown, no one was wearing one. Xango, starting last Saturday morning was when I began the search for a hotel/motel. I concentrated on our area first and threw in others up to 20 miles South with no luck. Then I tried Kissimmee and Orlando. The only ones available were in Destin,
St.Augustine, a few in Jacksonville and then nothing. These rooms had to be grabbed by Friday night. I also checked the route we normally take when heading North. Seems this hurricane has its eyes set for Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and maybe parts of Virginia. You could have heard my YIKES when I saw the path.We have almost a full tank of gas, so not concerned there. We will make the decisions as things start to happen. The forecast keeps changing. We live in Manatee County and the news has it coming ashore here, then it was Sarasota and now Venice. This thing can still deviate from the path currently it is taking. Who knows. I am praying that it will die down as soon as it hits land.
Yes, Xango, I brought all the loose things into the lanai. The plants are in the sink in the laundry area. My only concern was the gas tank for a grill that we no longer have. I have a Foo Dog made of cement that I put against it. That thing weighs over 60lbs. To relocate it I used my foot. Too heavy to lift. Xango, take care of yourself. I love your ambition and your food. I wish I had your recipes. On that note, please be safe and stay well. Sheba this thing may be headed towards the Atlanta area and then will make it’s way up the coast. It looks like the storm will be over land for the most part. But tell your kids to keep an eye out for this thing. Good night for now. We shall see what tomorrow brings. -

@Sheba🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
Good evening Sheba, hubby went back to work in Orlando. Worked half day yesterday and today. Due to the hurricane he will work out of the house Wednesday and Thursday.
He will start working at the Tampa VA in October, after the Holiday on the 11th.
I have baked eight mini Panettones. Which I have already sampled it, 😋😋 The two large ones are still raising.
Have the chicken pies in the refrigerator so the pastry can be cooled before baking.
Take care Sheba 🦋 🌻 🙂 💕 -

Oh God Oodie, I am worried about the place being on the bay. I know you didn’t have much of a choice as to different available places.
I pray that you and your husband will be safe. Please take lots of food and water, they are saying that the storm will move slow. Thus pouring lots of rain and wind for days,
I hope they are wrong on that.
Please be careful and take care. ………..🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴 -
When Life Falls Apart
We can trust that our inner core is always shining brightly, even when we cannot quite see it.
There are times when our whole world seems to be falling apart around us, and we are not sure what to hold on to anymore. Sometimes our relationships crumble and sometimes it’s our physical environment. At other times, we can’t put our finger on it, but we feel as if all the walls have fallen down around us and we are standing with nothing to lean on, exposed and vulnerable. These are the times in our lives when we are given an opportunity to see where we have established our sense of identity, safety, and well-being. And while it is perfectly natural and part of our process to locate our sense of self in externals, anytime those external factors shift, we have an opportunity to rediscover and move closer to the core of our being, which is the only truly safe place to call home.
The core of our being is not affected by the shifting winds of circumstance or the cycles of change that govern physical reality. It is as steady and consistent as the sun, which is why the great mystics and mystical poets often reference the sun in their odes to the self. Like the sun, there are times when our core seems to be inaccessible to us, but this is a misconception. We know that when the sun goes behind a cloud or sets for the night, it has not disappeared but is temporarily out of sight. In the same way, we can trust that our inner core is always shining brightly, even when we cannot quite see it.
When things around us are falling apart, we can cling to this core knowing that an inextinguishable light shines from within ourselves. Times of external darkness can be a great gift in that they provide an opportunity to remember this inner light that shines regardless of the circumstances of our lives. When our external lives begin to come back together, we are able to lean a bit more lightly on them, knowing more clearly than ever that our true home is that bright sun shining in our core. Amen! ✨✨
