Conversation – 17
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 17 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 8 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

Hey @oodiebom:
How about you say what time to meet up here & we can just play Trivia?! I know plenty of trivia Q & A’s that I’ve done for years on other forums.
Let me know what you think??😊

Not even thinking of the time, we left for Costco around 4 pm. It is usually a ten minute drive, but being the day prior to NYE, it was bumper to bumper. Seemed like forever to get to the warehouse. I picked up another tin box of European cookies having bought one for ourselves. They are delicious. Just like potato chips, you cannot eat just one. We also purchased crab legs, clams ( unbelievable priced at $1.99/lb), cocktail shrimp and their $4.99 chicken. Then when all was said and done we stopped for hotdogs and pizza. I just was not in the mood for a hotdog, so had the pizza instead. What I do miss is their Caesar salad with chicken. That was my favorite. We loaded the van and almost forgot to get gas. Gas at Costco was $2.89. This was the price at most gas stations all last week. I even remarked to hubby that I never saw gas prices go down during a holiday. It was $3.29 a week prior. Well, today it was back up to $3.29 and at Costco it was $2.89.
So now, it is after Trivia and I need to unpack the food items and put some in the freezer. I unloaded the van and handed the items to hubby who was standing at the front door. When that was done I just happened to gaze at the clock and saw it was 8:20 pm. Ran to turn the computer on and now you know the rest of the story.
Hubby and I do not venture far on NYE. There are too many young adults and sometimes the older ones as well who think getting high on whatever is loads of fun. They do not think of those who are out and about in a vehicle or waling to a friend’s home. We have seen too many accidents and therefore we go out to an early dinner or just have something together at home. I am thinking of starting a thread in community tomorrow night for those like ourselves are home with the TV on (in our case we need to contact Spectrum when the electrical has been repaired). This way no one is home alone. or if working, can pop in and have some fun.
Have a great rest of the evening. Enjoy your walk with Poppy under the moonlight. Stay safe.

Hello Sheba, Happy New Year 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
It was a partly cloudy day but nice and warm. And since it’s Winter no humidity, the Sun did come out and the later part of the afternoon.
I did get a chance years back to meet Pelé and the team Santos he played for. I met them all in Washington, DC . I have several pictures with them.
I started making several items for tomorrow. Mostly finger food, crackers and dessert.
Going back to Trivia take care 🍾🍾🍾🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 -
As above, I will be responsibly walking to my bed, too funny!😅🤣😂 Second thought, I don’t even need to walk, I’ll just drink in bed!😅🤣😂
Visited mom and sis today to give them hugs and kisses for the new year. Bought a good luck pretzel to share with them.🥨 We all need some of that. Staying home tomorrow watching all the football games and new year celebrations on TV.📺🏈✨🍾 If you’re in the neighborhood, stop by. Love ya!💗🥰💖

Changing Roles
We all change throughout life trying new and different things, but the core of who we really are remains the same.
As we bob and weave with the ebb and flow of life our roles change, but our true self remains constant. As spiritual beings having a human experience, we go through many aspects of humanity in one lifetime. Living in the material world of opposites, labels, and classifications, we often identify ourselves by the roles we play, forgetting that these aspects shift and change throughout our lives. But when we anchor ourselves in the truth of our being, that core of spirit within us, we can choose to embrace the new roles as they come, knowing that they give us fresh perspective on life and a greater understanding of the lives of others.
As children, we anticipated role changes eagerly in our rush to grow up. Though fairy tales led us to believe that “happily ever after” was a final destination, the truth is that life is a series of destinations, mere stops on a long journey filled with differing terrain. We may need to move through a feeling of resistance as we shift from spouse to parent, leader to subordinate, caregiver to receiver, or even local to newcomer. It can be helpful to bid a fond farewell to the role that we are leaving before we welcome the new. This is the purpose of ceremonies in cultures throughout the world and across time. We can choose from any in existence or create our own to help us celebrate our life shifts and embrace our new adventures.
Like actors on the stage of the world, our different roles are just costumes that we inhabit and then shed. Each role we play gives us another perspective through which to understand ourselves and the nature of the universe. When we take a moment to see that each change can be an adventure, a celebration, and a chance to play a new part, we may even be able to recapture the joyful anticipation of our youth as we transition from one role to the next. AMEN!
