Conversation – 17
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 17 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 8 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

So sorry to hear that the lady that cleans your mom’s home lost everything. Hubby and I are so thankful that we survived this horrible storm. It’s bad enough to sit through the hurricanes up North and to worry about the 75mph winds and hope everything stays safe. It is so different here. She is fortunate that she did not witness those strong winds that changed direction after so many hours. There are quite a few contractors in Ft. Myers as well as FEMA. She should make a list of what was lost and to also check her deductible. For some companies, this is probably their first time dealing with this deluge. Actually, this is our second time since we have been here. If it’s any consolation, I am having problems with our insurance company as well. Still waiting from the three phone calls I placed last week. Will be making another one tomorrow. The devastation in Ft. Myers, Lee County, Charlotte County, Sarasota, affected thousands. I am positive that there is no let up of phone calls. Tell her to be patient and things may be different in a few months.
Stay warm and hope your sister is still enjoying her cruise and the people she meets along the way. Take care and stay safe.

Hello Sheba, With temperatures in the 20’s you are into Winter already ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️
I hope you see Charlie and he is ok. The cold weather is perhaps keeping him away and he could be staying inside his home.
🍁
Soon I will be knocking on your door, a roast with vegetables is delicious. I bet polenta will go beautifully with that roast also should you have any leftovers. Polenta on the next day, I like to cut the leftovers into squares the next day, dust it with flour and sautéed it in olive oil. It’s crispy on the outside and creamy in the inside.
🍁
We are well here, hubby woke up late and ran out of the house this morning. And got to work on time. I decided the bake, made two different batches of French bread from two different recipes. They turned out delicious. My lunch was delicious and fattening. A small loaf of fresh baked bread, butter, cheese, olives and grapes.
Here is hoping your temperature warms up. And that Charlie comes for a long visit.
Take care Sheba 🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁 -
Brisk day in the ‘burgh, windy and in the 40’s. Oz sounds colder, we are not having lows in the 20’s.🥶 Back up to 70 over the weekend.🔥
Ran some errands and got my haircut, did laundry like you this afternoon. Sis should be home one week from today if all goes as planned.🤗
Found out from mom that her cleaning lady “had” a condo in Ft. Myers. She said everything is gone – walls, doors, appliances, tile, etc. Car floated away. She was going to sell her house here next spring and retire down there. Now she has no idea what will happen. Having a rough time with the insurance companies. She said she can’t cry any more than she has.😭
Haven’t heard much but I guess BIL is doing okay. He is in a very nice skilled nursing facility for rehab/PT. SIL sent pictures, that’s about all I know today.😏
We are very windy today so my hugs and kisses to you and Poppy will be there in two minutes.🤗🥰

Acknowledging Our Pain
Sometimes the motivation to help others may be an extension of a deep desire to heal a wounded part of ourselves.
Some people seem called to help others, often from early on in their childhoods, responding to the needs of family members, strangers, or animals with a selflessness that is impressive. While these people can appear to have very few needs of their own and focus on rescuing, helping, and healing others, there are few people who are truly able to sustain this completely giving lifestyle. The vast majority has needs that lie beneath the surface, unmet. In these cases, their motivation to help others may be in service to a deep desire to heal a wounded part of themselves for the kind of love and attention they give to those around them on a daily basis. For any number of reasons, they are unable to give themselves the love they need, so they give it to others. This does not mean that they are not meant to be helping others, but it does mean that they would do well to turn some of that helping energy within.
One problem with the constant caregiver is that the individual can get stuck in the role, always living in crisis mode at the expense of inner peace and personal growth. Until the person resolves their own inner dramas, they play them out in their relationships with others, drawn to those who need them and often unable to acknowledge their own needs or get them met. In the worst-case scenario, they enable the other person’s dilemma by not knowing when to stop playing the rescuer and allow the person to figure it out on their own. However, if the rescuer finds the strength to turn within and face their own needs, they can become a model of empowerment and a true source of healing in the world.
Some signs that you or someone you love may need to rescue the rescuer within are inner burnout from overgiving, underlying resentment, an inability to admit to having needs of one’s own, and an unwillingness to be vulnerable. Help comes when we allow ourselves to admit we need it, acknowledging our humanity and our wholeness by acknowledging our pain. The understanding we gain in the process will naturally inform and inspire our ability to help those in need to do the same. AMEN!✨✨

Good afternoon in Florida. ✨😎😜🌹Oz was in the 20’s last night and this morning.
Brrr…I had to bring in some of my large pots hubby and I put them in the double garage.
The same will be for tomorrow in the 20’s yep the heat is on. My pipes are doing fine.I am doing laundry and that helps the pipes. We were advised by our local weather team
to unhook the water hose. I had double comforters on the bed and the heat was on to take
the chill off the house. 😎✨How are you today? I am making a nice roast in my slow cooker and I will have potatoes and
carrots with the Roast. Hubby will love it. Xango with the time change it is dark when hubby
gets home. 💕💕I have not seen Charlie in a few days and it has been cold. I hope I see him
soon as I miss him so much. I may just walk over to the neighbors to see how he is doing.😘 -
