Conversation – 17
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 17 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 8 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

Today I was hoping to hear from the contractor who reached out yesterday. But guess his people were busy. He does know that I do not have a covering for either the den roof or the shed. I also mentioned that my neighbor woke me in the wee hours of the morning to say my roof over the shed was moving and she was afraid that it would fall on damage someone’s home. I am hoping he hasn’t changed his mind. I do know that his hours are Monday through Saturday 8am-6pm. I’m sure those hours will change when we set the clocks back an hour. Right now I am at loose ends. I heard from Buildzoom and they reached out to over a hundred contractors and have not heard anything. I imagine most are South of us where the damage was bitter. I checked with the Better Business Bureau and they have a way to also reach out. So, I will start that research tomorrow. Very frustrating.
Hubby wasn’t feeling up to par today so we didn’t go shopping. We are running out of bottled water, so will need to venture out tomorrow (actually today) to do that chore. And speaking of hubby, I had never heard of CBD Oil until the neurologist mentioned it at our appointment. There is a huge change in his sleeping and “knock on wood” there has not been any falling out of bed since he started this. So maybe it is a sleep disorder after all, though the symptoms he had could have fitted any myriads of things.
The pizza came out real good, especially on the spur of the moment. I had mozzarella and provolone cheese and that started it all. I used red, yellow and orange peppers along with meatballs that I sliced into small pieces. I forgot to add the plums and the olives. Sprinkled on some spices and baked at 375 degrees for about 15 minutes or until the edges were a golden brown. We have enough leftover for breakfast and lunch. Now he is asking for the winter melon soup. It calls for winter melon which you can only find in an Asian market. And since we haven’t gone recently, I found that honeydew gives the desired sweetness. I will probably make rice to go along with it, though I do have the organic ramen noodles. I use a chicken broth instead of plain water.
The house is in shambles and I decided I cannot live this way. So I started to reorganize and do some deep cleaning. Having the openings are not good for my sinuses, but I need to move things around so I can find what we need. The shed houses small electrical appliances and our bikes and also all our planting needs. With two bikes in there it is difficult to move around. But before tackling that job, I will need to move things around here so that the small things will have a temporary place until the new roof is installed. So, here I go again.
Great game tonight and tons of fun, though somehow I missed a question. Glad Charlie returned and Poppy is now getting used to the arrangement. Somehow pets seem to understand when one is not up to par. I just wish there was more that could be done for him. Enjoy the moonlight with Poppy and hubby. I’ll keep you posted on things.

I know Jake is looking down on Poppy and Charlie. ✨😘

Good evening to you. Glad Charlie was back safe in your home – you are such a good fur baby mom!🐶🐈💖
BIL was at the surgeon’s office today and he did have a mild infection. They took out some staples and redressed the incision so I think they caught it in time or, I should say, my SIL caught it. Back at the skilled nursing facility and sees the doc in another week.🙏
Should be my last mom Friday for a while as long as sis gets back as scheduled. Phone working today, yay, did some grocery shopping for her and dropped her off at the weekly salon appointment. Sis is in Aruba today enjoying the sun and hot weather.🌞🔥
Good game last night, it was never close which is how I like it.👍 Not planning much for the weekend since I did so much running during the week. Was up at 5:00am today because I couldn’t sleep so may be an early night for me.😴 Jake’s looking down on Poppy and Charlie and sending love.💗🥰💖

@oodiebom/Xango
Thanks for the advice. I know all about Tracfone because I have one. My sister used to work for Sprint and mom had one for some years. Between her hearing loss (she has hearing aids but does not always put them in) and eyesight without glasses, the phones are very difficult for her. She just gave up the one she had last year. At 92, I think it would be more problems than not. Especially when she would forget to charge it. And if she doesn’t use it regularly, she forgets how to use it.

I think that’s my Jake – he always liked to carry something around!💗🐶💗

I apologize. Could have sworn that Heidi was due next week but just noticed she will not be on until November. I just purchased the Halloween cat from her website. The Halloween items are on sale, I think 40% off. Have fun……..😎😎😎

Xango brought up a good point. I also have a Tracfone and I think it’s the same one as xango. Love it. I find using the tracfone minutes is enough for me. And, if for some reason the Comcast system isn’t working, she can still use the phone to call you and let you know that she is OK. There is also a phone strictly for seniors that has a low monthly cost and from what I’ve been told it is easy to use. I see this one advertised through AARP and also on other websites.
What I really enjoy about the Tracfone is that you are not charged for the time you spend on calls or internet usage if you are using WiFi. That little something is not only a time saver but a minute and hour saver as well.
Still looking for a contractor. The one who reached out yesterday has not called back. I assume they have quite a bit on their plate.

Hello and how are you doing now that you have that beautiful Charlie with you and your hubby all night.
So glad to hear Charlie came over and stayed. That must of been a great relief for you to see him and have his visit.

My grand nephew in Brazil is growing fast, I get pictures every week.
I have grand nieces in college, two in Brazil and one here in the USA. All three are in their second year of college. The one here in the USA, has a sister in high school and is on her second year of high school, she is a soccer player.
My nieces and nephews are all adults and they have children from just born to young adults themselves. ☺️
Take care Sheba 🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁 -

Hello, how are you? I hope this day finds you well. I am sorry to hear your BIL has an infection. Sending prayers for him to get that out of his system and on his way to getting better.

I was thinking about your mom, and wondering if she would like to have on hand a tracfone. It’s fairly reasonable price, and with enough minutes to last all year round. 8ts great during an emergency and when her land line goes out.
I believe tracfone has both At&T and T-mobile whichever is closer to the area the user is in.
Here on HSN is this one, and that’s the phone I personally have. Motorola Moto G Pure 6.5″ HD+ Tracfone with 1500 Min/Text/Data
783-406. $119.00
You can also go directly to Tracfone website and look around to find something that’s just right for her. I spend per year on renewing it with minutes, text and Data $99.00 plus tax. And that’s all. I use my WiFi while at home. -
Women’s Work
The importance of tending the hearth that nurtures all who bask in its warmth, is a beautiful thing.
In the recent past, the term “women’s work” has come to have a derogatory connotation. Women’s work encompasses all the domestic chores that have historically been associated only with women: cooking, cleaning, and raising children. Whenever a person is limited to only certain kinds of work in a society, there is a need to break free from that work in order to inhabit a place of choice. However, when we choose to do women’s work because we enjoy it, there is nothing degrading about it. There is an honor to it, and when done alone or in a group, this work can be truly meaningful and fulfilling because the home is the foundation of security for all who live in it. The importance of tending the hearth that nurtures all who bask in its warmth cannot be overstated.
In addition to being essential to the functioning of the world, women’s work offers creative fulfillment, intimate interaction, and personal satisfaction. The more we become aware of the significance of this realm of labor, the more fulfilling it will be both to those who do the work and those who benefit from it. A well-set table and a delicious, healthy meal can heal us on multiple levels. Clean, crisp sheets on a bed allow us to enter a deep slumber, inspiring a sense of safety and trust. Our mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health all rest upon the smooth functioning of our homes.
The more we acknowledge the tremendous importance of this work, the more we are able to do it with a sense of pride, never feeling for a moment that our efforts are less significant or meaningful than those working outside the home. On the contrary, it is this work that makes all other work possible. AMEN! ✨✨
