We had loads of wind and rain in the early hours until the afternoon. I walked into the kitchen and could see that we lost more of the roof over the lanai and the shed. The mold in the den will be easy to clean since the last owners used the siding on the house for the walls indoors. Thankfully, I purchased a couple of new mops several months ago and will use them on the walls in the den where there is mold. Water and bleach should de the trick. Best part, I won’t be needing a ladder. Rubber gloves and a mask will come in handy. The mold is mainly in the corner where the skylight was from Ian. What I really need is someone to remove the entire rug, and so far that has been almost impossible. Again, I contacted the Insurance Company this afternoon with the latest update as well as to the person who was here last week. Our hands are tied until we get a response from the Insurance Company. There is a strong possibility that a new shed is in our future. As of now, the electrical is no longer working in the shed. I surmise the wiring may be loose from the rain, or the remedy is in our panel. I will still wait a few days to let everything dry out. Suffice to say, at this point, we are both fine. From this point on, we will not be sitting anywhere in the lanai. Suffice to say, we will move the furniture pieces as needed until everything is done. The structure to the lanai will need to be need to be redone from top to bottom. The support beams are about to let go. My real concern at this point are termites. I surmise we will be tenting the house before the work is scheduled. That’s everything in a nutshell.

We had lots of rain and wind here in Polk County.
We lost power today just before noon, only for a few hours this time.

Hello Sheba, Glad to hear about your walks with Poppy. I hope Charlie is safe and warm in his home and not running around outside. I know he loves being with you.
Are you going to get hit with that snow hitting the Dakotas ans and Minnesota?
Raing and howling all night long, this time I just couldn’t sleep. I wasn’t prepared for a big st9rm this time like to last. And I started to worry during the night. No water bottles in the freezer for the fridge. No food made to eat if power was lost etc. I became concerned that power was going to be lost during the night.
Well we didn’t, I was able to have my hot cup of coffee. Just about before lunch to lights flickers and I said to hubby better heat lunch before power goes out, and it did. We lost power, but this time only for a few hours. I didn’t allowed hubby to drive to Tampa this morning. It’s was pouring rain, lots of wind and one couldn’t see 5 five ahead.
He worked out of the house.
I have bread raising as I write this, and later I will heat me some soup I made yesterday. That fresh bread will be delicious with my chicken soup.
I hope Oodiebom and her hubby are alright.

Good afternoon to you. Yes, we finally won a game, they played with their brains last night and a little luck.🧠👏 Hope it continues.

Two more appointments by the end of the year, oh, to be twenty again without a care.👩‍⚕️ Then I start back up in March again next year.😣

We are getting rain all day tomorrow from Nicole.🌧 We have a Veteran’s Day parade every year and I don’t think it’s been cancelled so they will be drenched. My husband was in the service⚓ so we will probably run out for one of the free dinners being offered. Texas Roadhouse stands outside and hands you a voucher that is good until next May. That is so smart so people aren’t crowding into the restaurant all at the same time.✨

Get the fur coat out, our cold starts on Sunday.🥶 Today is beautiful.🌞😊 Sending kisses to you and Poppy from me and Jake.😘💖

Creating Community

Creating community is an important part of receiving the support we all need to navigate through life.
Sometimes we can get so wrapped up in our thoughts that we wind up going around and around in circles, finding it difficult to concentrate on things and, because we are so distracted, not really accomplishing much. There may be signals — mental, emotional, or physical — that tell us we need to slow down and relax. Since we are so involved in things that are external to us, however, we may easily overlook what is really going on inside of us. It is during these times that we need to step back from the things that occupy our minds and take a moment to connect with our inner self, giving our minds, bodies, and spirits the time they need to re-energize and heal.

At first it may seem that by taking a break, we may not be as productive as we would initially like. In reality, a healthy period of rest is something that gives us a real sense of the unlimited nature of our true potential. Spending a couple of minutes walking outside, doing a few yoga poses, meditating, or simply becoming attuned to the rising and falling of our breath enables us to let go of our worries. This act brings our focus back to the things that are truly essential for us, such as our sense of oneness with the universe and our inner peace and well-being. As we begin to get in touch with this part of ourselves, we will find that our usual everyday troubles and worries become less critical and that we not only have much more room in our lives to really reflect on the issues that mean the most to us, but we are also able bring a much more positive and healthy outlook to the rest of our lives.

Giving ourselves respite from our daily concerns is like giving a gift to ourselves. By stepping away from the problems that seem to saturate our thoughts, we lessen the weight of our troubles and instead become more receptive to the wisdom and answers the universe has to offer us. AMEN! ✨✨
