Conversation – 17

Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 17 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 8 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎

I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

    Colors Of The Wind
    Song by Vanessa Williams

You think you own whatever land you land on
The earth is just a dead thing you can claim
But I know every rock and tree and creature
Has a life, has a spirit, has a name
You think the only people who are people
Are the people who look and think like you
But if you walk the footsteps of a stranger
You’ll learn things you never knew, you never knew
Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon
Or asked the grinning bobcat why he grinned?
Can you sing with all the voices of the mountain?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?
Come run the hidden pine trails of the forest
Come taste the sun-sweet berries of the earth
Come roll in all the riches all around you
And for once, never wonder what they’re worth
The rainstorm and the river are my brothers
The heron and the otter are my friends
And we are all connected to each other
In a circle, in a hoop that never ends
Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon
Or let the eagle tell you where he’s been
Can you sing with all the voices of the mountain?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind
How high does the sycamore grow?
If you cut it down, then you’ll never know
And you’ll never hear the wolf cry to the blue corn moon
For whether we are white or copper-skinned
We need to sing with all the voices of the mountain
Need to paint with all the colors of the wind
You can own the earth and still
All you’ll own is earth until
You can paint with all the colors of the wind

    Save The Best For Last
    Song by Vanessa Williams

Sometimes the snow comes down in June
Sometimes the sun goes ’round the moon
I see the passion in your eyes
Sometimes it’s all a big surprise
‘Cause there was a time when all I did was wish
You’d tell me this was love
It’s not the way I hoped or how I planned
    But somehow it’s enough
And now we’re standing face to face
Isn’t this world a crazy place?
Just when I thought our chance had passed
You go and save the best for last
All of the nights you came to me
When some silly girl had set you free
You wondered how you’d make it through
I wondered what was wrong with you
‘Cause how could you give your love to someone else
And share your dreams with me
Sometimes the very thing you’re lookin’ for
Is the one thing you can’t see
But now we’re standing face to face
Isn’t this world a crazy place?
Just when I thought our chance had passed
You go and save the best for last
Sometimes the very thing you’re looking for
Is the one thing you can’t see
Sometimes the snow comes down in June
Sometimes the sun goes ’round the moon
Just when I thought our chance had passed
You go and save the best for last
You went and saved the best for last

This is my favorite version of this song and there are many this HSN Vanessa Williams.
I sing it like this. 😎😜✨

    Vanessa Williams
    “Baby, It’s Cold Outside”

    I really can’t stay
    But baby it’s cold outside
    I’ve got to go ‘way
    But baby it’s cold outside
    This evening has been
Been hoping that you’d drop in
    So very nice
I’ll hold your hands they’re just like ice.

My mother will start to worry
    Beautiful what’s your hurry?
And father will be pacing the floor
    Listen to the fireplace roar
    So really I’d better scurry
    Beautiful please don’t hurry
Well maybe just a half a drink more
Put some music on while I pour.

    The neighbors might think
But baby it’s bad out there
    Say what’s in this drink
No cabs to be had out there
    I wish I knew how
Your eyes are like starlight now
    To break this spell
I’ll take your hat your hair looks swell.

I oughta say no no no sir
Mind if I move a bit closer?
At least I’m gonna say that I tried
What’s the sense of hurting my pride
    I really can’t stay
    Oh baby don’t hold out
    Ah, but it’s cold outside
    Baby it’s cold outside

    I simply must go

    But baby it’s cold outside
    The answer is no
    Ooh baby it’s cold outside
    The welcome has been
How lucky that you dropped in
    So nice and warm
Look out the window at that storm.

    My sister will be suspicious
    My your lips look delicious
My brother will be there at the door
    Waves upon a tropical shore
My maiden aunt’s mind is vicious
    Gosh your lips are delicious
Well maybe just a half-a-drink more
    Never such a blizzard before.

    I’ve got to get home
But baby you’d freeze out there
    Say lend me a comb
It’s up to your knees out there
    You’ve really been grand
I thrill when you touch my hand
    But don’t you see
How can you do this thing to me?

There’s bound to be talk tomorrow
    Think of my lifelong sorrow
At least there will be plenty implied
If you caught pneumonia and died
    I really can’t stay
    Get over that old doubt,
    Ah, but it’s cold outside
    Baby it’s cold outside

    It’s cold out side.
    It’s cold out side.

    @Sheba
A Good Afternoon to you Sheba. It’s a sunny day here and I hope your day is going great.
It’s been chilly in the past few nights. And yesterday marked three years since we moved down from Jacksonville. That November 28th was a very cold day that we had to put on winter clothing with jackets. It also marks 21 years I arrived home late from work and found my mom in bed with a stroke. The house was dark, no lights, no sound. The moment I saw that I knew something was wrong. Ten days later she was gone, the memories are coming in waves these few days.
    Take care Sheba

    @oodiebom
Oodie, I wrote this around 1AM. And placed it on yesterday’s post and decided to repost it today.
Good morning and Hanukkah  Sameach to you and your husband.
I know you have a lot on your plate this week,  so please take little breaks here and there.
Dont forget to write down on a piece  of paper all the questions you want to ask to doctor and place the paper in your purse after you have written it down.
Perhaps getting your husband some ensure to drink or boost, not everyday but some to have twice or three times a week.
Our temperature here was down to mid forties for a few days.  Last night was chilly in the high forties.
With all that is happening around you I would have to agree with you, stress.  But add  just plain tired to that too. Its impossible to do all that you do and not be tired. So make time to rest.
I don’t know about a strenuous exercise being a good  idea, I am sure the therapist should come up with an exercise that is beneficial without being strenuous. Shouldn’t it be considered what your husband can and cannot do along with his age?
I am sure you have this but I will ask, a Glucose Meter, to check your blood sugar at home. You know,  a little on the finger with a strip. I started doing that since the mid nineties when my brother became diabetic in Brazil, we were very alike.  I started doing that about once a month, now I do it once a week. Just to check it, and since my husband has diabetes two I keep on top of it.
I hope you husband’s A1C is low and that the doctor is able to solve his knee pain. The orthopedist should be able to let you know if the pain is actually from the knee  or the hip and reflecting onto the knee, which is what I get sometimes.
I told my cousin that there not one day that my body doesn’t have some kind of pain.  Most winters because of the cold I throw my back out, or some kind of back pain.  Then there is my dislocated hip, not in its socket.  And of course it shortens leg causing pain in the hip, back, knee. Now for about a month I have a shooting pain on the left foot. The left leg is the pone I stand on most. It started on the ball of the foot and it has traveled to the middle. Everytime I take a step it hurts.
I hope you get your A/C working and your duct work done this week, and fingers crossed that it’s not to expensive.
November 28th marked three years we have moved down from Jacksonville. Hard to believe its been three years.
Please take time to rest Oodiebom, and take care.

    A Self-Healing Day

A beautiful gift to yourself, is a day of healing and nourishing just for you.

Human beings carry within themselves the seed of healing. Our choices affect us more than we realize, and it is because of this that we tend to place responsibility for our wellness in the hands of others. As beneficial as regular visits to a healer can be, we have the power to heal ourselves at will. When we dedicate a day to the pursuit of wellness, we can relax and renew ourselves in a nourishing and comfortable environment. A sincere desire to open ourselves to the highest realities of our physical and spiritual selves is the key to self-healing so that healing energy can flow into us unimpeded.

A self-healing day should address the vital needs of the self as a whole while directing healing energy where it is needed most. Solitude is an important part of the process as is the ability to take refuge in a space that is both beautiful and peaceful. Start your healing day by setting the intention that you are dedicating this time to healing yourself. Flowers, candlelight, incense, and music can guide our focus toward a more tranquil state. For a more intense session, try listening to music through headphones since tuning out can help you tune in. It is up to us to decide what we need to do to cultivate wellness in our lives. For some, it may be time spent in reflection. Others will turn to calming activities that help them remember their purpose, such as journal writing, being in nature, or studying. Our healing may even take a more direct form as we use color, sound, or crystals to balance and ground ourselves.

Ultimately, your wholesome intentions transform what might otherwise be a simple day of rest into a day of healing. Grant yourself permission to relax and savor the stillness. If you attune yourself to the calm around you, worldly distractions will be minimized and the unadulterated flow of your consciousness will reestablish itself in the forefront of your mind. The needs of the body, the heart, and the soul will then be revealed to you, empowering you to tap into the essential healing energy of the universe. The mechanism you use to channel this energy will be dependent on your shifting requirements, so each day of healing you enjoy will be unique. All will replenish you, however, allowing you to recreate yourself in a perfect image of health. Amen! ✨😎😘
