Conversation – 17
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 17 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 8 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

Sheba, forgot to mention that I read your post from last night. I am envious. You were with the right people at the right time. And the training you received was better than what any college could have offered. And that goes for some of the best like Emerson, Yale, NYU, and even Julliard. Most singers and some actors today are not able to feel the music or the words. I find it so disheartening to hear someone not acting but just reading a script and not feeling the sentiment behind the words. I remember Kristin Chenoweth saying that her music teacher did not like the way she sang something she chose for her exam. She would have flunked the course had she not chosen something else with her teacher’s approval. This teacher also remarked that sometime in the future she would love to hear her belt out that song. She did many years later during one of her specials in which this teacher was present. She now understood what that teacher was saying. You have to feel the music. Not from the lips, but from the heart. Believe in the music, and also believe in yourself. How lucky you were and how special these memories are. I sometimes wonder if I ever heard you sing. I must have at some time or other. I am glad you had this opportunity and this gift. I just wish you could do it again. Maybe sometime. Someplace. Maybe, try acting. Bet you would not only enjoy it, but you would be great. Julie Andrews comes to mind.

We are back from the physician appointment. We both did well. Our doctor was really pleased with hubby’s progress, especiall with walking. He also ordered meds for pain which will be ready tomorrow. However, he is concerned that my BP went up a bit. He knows I am concerned with hubby, but wants to see me next month to see if it went down on it’s own. Here’s hoping.
Tomorrow we have the appointment with the orthopedist. We will be seeing his assistant. I am hoping I will be able to go with him, but that depends upon what time we make it. We will be leaving early since parking is very limited. Once inside, I will be going to the digital imaging area. For some reason making a phone call does not go through. This is the second time I will be making that trip. I may decide to go elsewhere. I just hope they don’t find anything else to look at. Once the appointment is made will do the booster.
And speaking of the booster. Looks like Covid is surging in Florida. And it seems that quite a few have had all three shots. What is going on???
It rained and poured here. When we left for the doctor’s appointment, the sun was shining and there was hardly a cloud in the sky. Leaving the appointment, the skies were dark and ominous.
I think it rained after we arrived home for lunch./actually brunch. And on top it all, night came early, like around 4 pm. Sometime after the first of the year we will notice longer days.Normally, I would have made something for the neighbors. But being so far away I relied on an outside source that I used for the first time. Have not heard anything from the recipients, so even though I have been informed that they were delivered, just not sure. All have my e-mail. Hopefully, we will hear something soon. Mail delivery takes too long, but will wait until a few weeks after the holidays to make phone calls.

I watched the Wizard also last night, never got off the couch for two hours.📺 They just don’t make movies like that these days.🎬 Can you believe my husband never saw the whole movie,😮 just bits and pieces, but last night he did.😊
BIL got home yesterday but I have not talked to them yet. Sent an email saying I will let things settle then give them a call.
NHL cancelled all games until next Monday.🏒 Don’t worry, I will be on your side for the next game. My husband was like your daughter, a little tired for two days. I had a sore arm. Sure hope these boosters do something!!
Send a piece of pie over, I don’t care what kind, I love them all (unfortunately). I can smell them through the screen.🥧🥰

Good Afternoon to you TACI, thank you for the complimentary post. I only started cooking and baking after I stopped working full time. I have to credit all the old baking shows on TV such as Julia Child’s and lots and lots of Martha Stewart. Now, we have YouTube, and it’s wonderful, and in many languages from around the Globe.
I hope you and yours have a blessed Christmasand a Happy New Year’s

@Sheba
Good Afternoon Sheba, I hope you are having fun making your delicious pies. I would sure love a slice or two or three😋😋😋 We finally got rain in our area. Big thunder, lightning and rain. Now it stopped and the Sun is peaking out. I made a double batch of Panettone, its rising now. It stayed in the Frigidaire during the night. Then I completed the secondary dough today, and added the crystallized fruit and raisins. Its smells nice and yeasty. I made some Madeleine dough that is in the fridge. The Rugelach dough in the fridge which I want to fill some with apple and raisins and others with dates and nuts. Not sure how it will turn out. Now one more item and I can rest. I will finish baking tomorrow, only the Panettones will be baked today. The Panettones will need to cool upside down with a skewer through them for 5 hours.
Enjoy baking Sheba, 🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲 -
Small Steps to Big Change
When making big change in our lives, it can be easier to break it up into a few small changes to avoid overwhelm.
When we decide that it’s time for big changes in our lives, it is wise to ease into them by starting small. Small changes allow us to grow into a new habit and make it a permanent part of our lives, whereas sudden changes may cause a sense of failure that makes it difficult to go on, and we are more likely to revert to our old ways. Even if we have gone that route and find ourselves contemplating the choice to start over again, we can decide to take it slowly this time, and move forward.
Sometimes the goals we set for ourselves are merely indicators of the need for change and are useful in getting us moving in the right direction. But it is possible that once we try out what seemed so ideal, we may find that it doesn’t actually suit us, or make us feel the way we had hoped. By embarking on the path slowly, we have the chance to look around and consider other options as we learn and grow. We have time to examine the underlying values of the desire for change and find ways to manifest those feelings, whether it looks exactly like our initial goal or not. Taking small steps forward gives us time to adjust and find secure footing on our new path.
Life doesn’t always give us the opportunity to anticipate or prepare for a big change, and we may find ourselves overwhelmed by what is in front of us. By choosing one thing to work on at a time, we focus our attention on something manageable, and eventually we will look up to see that we have accomplished quite a bit. Forcing change is, in essence, a sign that we do not trust the universe’s wisdom. Instead, we can listen to our inner guidance and make changes at a pace that is right for us, ensuring that we do so in alignment with the rhythm of the universe.
