We took a ride late this afternoon to the Farmer’s Market. What a delight to be in this store just prior to Christmas Eve. Everyone was so festive and food and goodies for everyone. I did try the filet mignon which was so tasty and melted in your mouth. They also had Christmas cookies with signs that said “try me.” I was able to say no. Couldn’t believe I actually said No to my sweet tooth. And, yes, hubby was with me. He had his own carriage and when I was done he only had three things in there. An Italian grinder, 2 ears of corn, and cut up watermelon. Mind you I only went in there for three things and when all was said and done, my carriage was filled to the brim and then some.

I think your temp was very close to ours. I do not believe we got out of the 60s. Right now I am debating on whether or not to put the heat on. I guess it is time for the sweaters.

We also watched the awards last night and they were interesting. Bette Midler is so down to earth and was radiant. So nice to be able to relax and not have to be somewhere at a certain time. I did put a call into the doctor’s office again today. I wonder if they closed early for the holiday. Not like them not to respond. Oh yes, I sent one gift to myself. It was delivered, but not to me. I also ordered some laundry stuff. It also was delivered, but not to me. The stores have been notified and I received a replacement on one of them. Still waiting on the other.

Not sure if Trivia will be on tomorrow night. But I should be there, May be a good time just to put those feet up and relax a bit. Guess I better unpack those groceries.

Allowing Ourselves to Receive

By allowing ourselves to receive, we are given the gift of seeing through another person’s eyes.

Giving and receiving are part of the same cycle, and we each give and receive in our own ways. But we can lose our balance when we try to be too controlling on either side of the cycle. On the receiving end, we may feel that we don’t deserve the effort made if what we gave was easy for us to give. But perhaps there is a different lesson there for us. We may be receiving not only gratitude, but a chance to see the world through the eyes of another. We may be learning that just because we gave easily, it doesn’t diminish its value. Or perhaps the universe is giving us an example to hold close to our hearts, to encourage us on some future day when our own generous act of giving is not met with a visible act of receiving. When we can allow ourselves to receive as well as give, we do our part to keep the channels of abundance open for ourselves and others.

Sometimes we may find ourselves struggling to respond to others’ gifts in the same ways — like responding to an expensive present with something equally expensive, or feeling like we have to throw a dinner party for someone who has thrown one for us. But when these are done out of a sense of obligation, their energy changes from something that shares to something that drains. If this sounds familiar, we can decide next time to allow ourselves to receive with arms, minds and hearts open and simply say thank you.

Accepting a person’s gift is a gift in itself. Sincere appreciation for their acknowledgement and their effort joins our energy with theirs in the cycle of giving and receiving, and nurtures all involved. If ever we find we are still having difficulty, we can decide to allow ourselves to be conduits for gratitude and accept on behalf of a loving, giving universe. Amen! ✨✨

Hello good friend in the ‘burgh. ✨😘May you and hubby enjoy this day. ✨
All is well in OZ nice temps today low 50’s.

Almost done with whatever I am going to do. Memories are creeping up every now
and than of my dear family members who past in the last year. I know in time this too
shall pass but for now things are fresh. I will be fine I just need a minute. 😜

Good morning in S. California. ✨Taci the year is coming up on your mother. It’s been
only a year since I lost my dad and the waves are getting bigger around this time.

I also lost my closes two Aunt on my mother’s side I mean 5 days apart and then my BIL
my husband is feeling it too. Taci that is a lot in one year. So I am in a Tsunami this season.

Taci I always put up words of thoughts I do have annoying people in my life but no one in
the HSN Community or on this Thread NEVER! 😘 No worries I don’t give them the time
of day not worth it. I have a large family and then some. 😜

I know exactly how you feel about now I am feeling it too and it seem to get stronger
when the holidays comes around I have so many cousins to comfort this season. I also
have several nieces to comfort with the loss of their fathers in the last year. 🌹

I just try to keep busy I work on this little thread and do what I can for my Community
where I live. ✨ I am thinking of you this time of year. ❤

I did enjoy The Kennedy Center Honors last night. ✨😘💕 I am so glad all the Honorees
were there to enjoy the evening performances. 😘All I can say is Bette Midler is the best. 💕
