Conversation – 17
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 17 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 8 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

Sheba, you would have❤ it today. Just wonderful weather today.
The tests aren’t for me. We decided to drive a long long drive to where we want to go to take the young one :). It’s for a friend who has a situation. Seems homes for the elderly require negative rapid test before entry. Yesterday I read that you can be symptomatic with covid and have a negative test, but that would mean you were not able to spread it. I have no idea if that’s true or not. Just a lot of information out there.
Hope you are feeling better soon.
Oh, and I know you hit your 3 mil milestone with points. My latest milestone was 300,000. Not quite in the realm of all you Arcadian’s. -

Yep, almost done. Almost done in the kitchen and then on to the the next.
Hope you are feeling better. Our pollen count in Florida was 10+. Guess that may be the reason for a headache, stuffy nose and a cough that just would not let up. I’m Ok now.
The weather here is on the cool side. Temps were in the low 70s, with some wind. No humidity except the dewpoint is around 48. No rain until the weekend. Our A/C is in the off position. Tonight the temps will dip into the low 60s. I know you would love to see this in OZ. For me, it is like feeling the 40s in the North. Yes, we have winter clothes here also. I remember a few years ago when the temps were in the 20s for quite a number of weeks. I only had some light weight sweaters. We went everywhere looking for jackets, coats, gloves, scarves, etc.. There were none to be found anywhere including Walmart. I surmise the Floridians felt it would never see winter like we experience. The following year I brought some extra warm clothing. However, on Black Friday, I did find coats, gloves, etc.. I have been a “happy camper” since.
The pandemic in Florida is bad. Seems even if you have had all the shots, you are not immune.
Very scary. I also see that some airlines are curtailing flights to Miami. This is for the month of January, but may continue into February. I’m hoping and praying that this is the last stand, but will not be holding my breath……..Take care. Enjoy your walk tonight with Poppy.

Well, it’s almost 5:00 at my house!🤣 Glad you are a little better, hope your sinuses are a lot better by the end of the day.
Still very cold today, we won’t make 50 this week but 40 tomorrow then up and down. Went for a haircut and did more laundry. Congrats to Georgia on their win last night.👍🏆
SIL in Atlanta better, went to the mall with her daughter and was exhausted when she got home. Needs to build up some stamina but, all in all, doing well compared to a week ago.🙏 BIL holding his own, mom and sis fine, thank you for always thinking of them.💖 Hang in there, my friend.🙌

Amen – my husband says this every single day!😊

Good Afternoon Sheba, I hope you are able to catch up on your sleep by taking a power nap.
The temperature is going to get a bit chilly here. It’s a windy day, and a chill in the house, not quite understanding that because its 73 degrees outside. I read the mid west is going to have temperatures of 5 to 15 below zero. It seems that each year the winters become more severe, colder and colder. The summers are also more and more severe, hotter and hotter.
So be careful out there Sheba. Get some good sleep tonight.
Take care. -
Controlling Behavior
People that want to control others are, at the core, consumed with their own fears and projecting those fears onto others.
We all know what it’s like to want to be in control. In some ways, exerting control is an important survival skill. For example, we have every right to be in control of our own bodies and our own lives. Taking control in these cases is empowering and necessary. Controlling behavior in the negative sense comes from a tendency to reach beyond our own boundaries and into the lives of others. Many people do this with the rationalization that they are helping. This can happen with parents who are still trying to force their grown children into behaving in ways that they find acceptable. It can also happen when people try to control their partners’ behavior. If you have control issues, you will see that in one or more areas of your life, you feel the need to interfere with what is happening rather than just allowing events to unfold.
Almost everyone has at least one situation or relationship in which they try to exert control. This often happens because someone’s behavior makes us uncomfortable. We may feel it makes us look bad, or it embarrasses us. For example, if your best friend tends to drink too much, you might spend an entire party just trying to prevent her from doing so. This is different from directly confronting her about the problem and allowing her to decide what she should do. Controlling behavior generally goes hand in hand with an unwillingness to be direct about what you want, as well as an inability to let go and let people live their own lives. If you are the one that is controlling, it’s probably because you feel as if you are out of control and it scares you. Try to pick one thing you could just let unfold without any control on your part. Examine how it made you feel both before and after, and examine why you wanted to control the situation.
It is hard sometimes to allow others to be who they are, especially if we feel we know what’s best for them and we see them making choices we wouldn’t make. However, if we are to be respectful and truly loving, we have to let people go, trusting that they will find their own way in their own time and understanding that it is their life to live. Just reminding yourself that the only life you have to live is your own is the first step to letting go. Amen! ✨✨
