Conversation – 16
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 16 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 7 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread.
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

Give Me the Night
Song by Georges BensonWhenever dark has fallen
You know the spirit of the party
Starts to come alive
Until the day is dawning
You can throw out all your blues
And hit the city lights
‘Cause there’s music in the air
And lots of lovin’ everywhere
So gimme the night
Gimme the night
You need the evening action
A place to dine, a glass of wine
A little late romance
It’s a chain reaction
You’ll see the people of the world
Coming out to dance
‘Cause there’s music in the air
And lots of lovin’ everywhere
So gimme the night
Gimme the night
So come on out tonight
And we’ll lead the others
On a ride through paradise
And if you feel all right
Then we can be lovers
‘Cause I see that starlight
Look in your eyes
Don’t you know we can fly
Just gimme the night
Gimme the night
‘Cause there’s music in the air
And lots of lovin’ everywhere
So gimme the night
Gimme the night
So come on out tonight
And we’ll lead the others
On a ride through paradise
And if you feel all right
Then we can be lovers
‘Cause I see that starlight
Look in your eyes
Don’t you know we can fly
And if we stay together
We’ll feel the rhythm of the evening
Taking us up high
Never mind the weather
We’ll be dancing in the street
Until the morning light
‘Cause there’s music in the air
And lots of lovin’ everywhere
So gimme the night
Gimme the night
Gimme the night
Gimme the night
Gimme the night
Gimme the night
Gimme the night
So, gimme the night
‘Cause there’s music in the air
And lots of lovin’ everywhere
So gimme the night
Gimme the night
Gimme the night
Gimme the night
Gimme the night
Gimme the night
Gimme the night
So, gimme the night
‘Cause there’s music in the air
And lots of lovin’ everywhere
So gimme the night
Gimme the night
Gimme the night
Gimme the night
Gimme the night -

Holding Back the Years
Song by Simply RedHolding back the years
Thinking of the fear I’ve had so long
When somebody hears
Listen to the fear that’s gone
Strangled by the wishes of pater
Hoping for the arms of mater
Get to me the sooner or later, oh
Holding back the tears
Chance for me to escape from all I know
Holding back the tears
‘Cause nothing here has grown
I’ve wasted all my tears
Wasted all those years
Nothing had the chance to be good
Nothing ever could, yeah, oh
I’ll keep holding on
I’ll keep holding on
I’ll keep holding on
I’ll keep holding on, so tight
Well I’ve wasted all my years
Wasted all of those years
And nothing had the chance to be good
‘Cause nothing ever could, oh yeah
Oh
I’ll keep holding on
I’ll keep holding on
I’ll keep holding on
I’ll keep holding on
Holding
Holding
Holding
Holding, la-la-la, la, la-la
I said, ooh, yeah
That’s all I have today
It’s all I have to say -

I also read the article on food allergy. Nicely stated, However, I probably would have gone into a little more depth. That would be some food allergies could not only lead to nausea but also to making breathing almost non existent. Some allergies also require not using the same utensils over and over again unless washed and scrubbed, thus getting at all food particles. Of course eating out could also be questionable. However, people should be aware of their problem so they can scrutinize whatever is on their plate.

Happy St. Paddy’s day to you!🍀🍺 I hope we don’t have too many people limping, lol! So glad you are okay from the storm. I really hate when it is windy so I would have been shaking in my boots.
Hockey team won last night. They have a tough week, five games in seven days because of rescheduling for covid. Hope I’m not jinxing them.🏒
PA is lifting some restrictions starting on Easter. Restaurants can have 75% capacity and bars can open without food. I think indoor gatherings, like weddings and sporting events, will be 25% and outdoor 50%. I get my second shot next week so I will feel a little safer out and about.
BTW, the blueberry pie is delish!!🥧 Bought it Sunday and half is gone, yikes!! And you had to post that pic of the key lime – I’m in trouble. Four more days until spring.🌺🌼🌷🌻 Jake is wagging back at Poppy.

@Sheba.com
It’s strange how we know someone we love are near us. Rainbows and doves are my charms, especially prior to the Mam. If I see a butterfly hovering near our home, it’s my dad checking on things. Last year it was the spoonbill. He has not been around yet this year. Probably too cold in Florida. Though it’s warm now, another cold front will be passing through on Thursday and then in the 70s and night in the 50s. I enjoy the weather changes. This weekend we will be working outside.
I left a note for Taci yesterday on the micro cut shredder. Hope she purchases one. They sure come in handy.
Haven’t heard anything yet on the vaccines. They will either call or send an e-mail. Just hope it’s not the same day you are notified, which has occurred quite often.
On one hand I look forward to the ride North and to check both houses. On the other hand, I love Florida and to leave makes us sad. I have a feeling we will be selling both places relatively soon.

Oodie, thanks for you post with information about the shredder. I like the idea of a micro shredder and loved that it was a TS. Not sure yet where I will buy mine but I expect to decide by end of the month.
Happy you like the new comforter!
Hope you are able to get the vaccine soon. It’s been odd how some States that are smaller don’t even have age guidelines and other States have shortages. I am patiently waiting but my husband is ready to hop on a plane to Ohio ( not really maybe Mexico?, I am kidding but he wants it).
If and when I see some Dragon fruit, you know I will think of you and take the plunge. -
true that!

@Sheba, so agree with this post’s message. Maybe add a hot shower to it.
I always miss my bed and shower. By the way, read it (food allergies post) 🙂Tornado! omg. Glad you have a basement to take shelter in, that must have been a crazy feeling.
I will take a look a Ms. Heidi. You new pendant/pin – WOW! The colors and sparkle are lovely. Enjoy it in good health.
Been collecting items to get my Mothers taxes done.

The Fear of Appearing Dumb
Living in fear of sounding intelligent can rob your friends of knowing the real you
The universal need to be accepted by others can be a barrier that prevents us from being ourselves around them. When we fear that the people we encounter will perceive us as inept or unintelligent, we frequently try to flaunt our grasp of large words or clever witticisms or our professional expertise in an effort to convince them that we are smart and capable. The reasons for feeling this way can be many, and they can often stem from as far back as your childhood. Many women in particular have the fear that they may appear not smart. Yet overcompensating for this fear can have the opposite effect if others are driven away by what they see as an immodest attitude or sense that you are urgently trying to prove yourself. The simple desire to be judged smart by both new and old acquaintances can cause you to reject your true self and adopt an affected persona. But in trying so persistently to project an image of supreme intelligence or capability, you deny others the opportunity to become acquainted with the real and terrific individual you truly are.
The fear that others will perceive you as unintelligent can further influence your behavior, causing you to consciously avoid speaking your mind or asking questions. You may feel uncomfortable participating in activities if there is a chance that you won’t excel or taking part in discussions with others who may have more knowledge than you. In essence, you become ashamed of who you are and attempt to encase your identity in a veneer that others will find pleasing and impressive. It is, however, a common fear — one experienced by almost everyone at some point in their lives. The simplest way to combat it is to make a personal commitment to being yourself in your home, your workplace, and among strangers. Ask yourself how you believe the individuals you encounter will react should you speak awkwardly, need clarification, or fail to be the best at some activity. By being yourself, you will discover that all people make mistakes and ask questions and that others will like and respect you because they recognize the goodness in your soul.
The fact that you are willing to be yourself, letting your many affirmative attributes express themselves naturally, will help you make a positive first impression on everyone you meet and earn the esteem of your family and friends. Your confidence and easygoing manner will say, “this is who I am and I am proud of the person I have become.” AMEN to that. 😎
