Conversation – 16
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 16 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 7 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread.
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

I do make and love soup I made some beef soup with lentils and other veggies in my
slow cooker over the weekend. 😘😎 Hubby really loved it.I do make my pie from scratch it is different than all the rich desserts some of us
do not need. I like to watch all my vitals and make sure my weight stays the same.I have not gained any weight in about eight years. I walk a lot and I stay active. ✨
This is how my Sweet Potato looks and I will make it a couple days before the big meal.
Everything is fresh the turkey and stuffing everything a lot goes into what I do.
Hubby does the hard part he cuts and chops because he can do it a lot easier than
me. This holiday will be different as I have lost so many relatives I am just trying to make
the best of the day for the few who will gather at my table. 😘💕I am thankful very thankful. -

Exhale (Shoop Shoop)
Song by Whitney HoustonEveryone falls in love sometime
Sometimes it’s wrong, and sometimes it’s right
For every win, someone must fail
But there comes a point when
When we exhale (yeah, yeah, say)
Shoop, shoop, shoop
Shoop be doop, shoop, shoop
Sometimes you’ll laugh
Sometimes you’ll cry
Life never tells us, the when’s or why’s
When you’ve got friends, to wish you well
You’ll find your point when
You will exhale (yeah, yeah, say)
Shoop, shoop, shoop
Shoop be doop, shoop, shoop
Hearts are often broken
When there are words unspoken
In your soul there’s answers to your prayers
If you’re searching for a place you know
A familiar face, somewhere to go
You should look inside yourself
You’re halfway there
Sometimes you’ll laugh
Sometimes you’ll cry
Life never tells us, to wish you well
You’ll find your point when
You will exhale (yeah, yeah, say)
Shoop, shoop, shoop
Shoop be doop, shoop, shoop -

Touch Me in the Morning
Song by Diana RossTouch me in the morning
Then just walk away
We don’t have tomorrow
But we had yesterday
Wasn’t it me who said that
Nothing good’s gonna last forever?
And wasn’t it me who said
Let’s just be glad for the time together?
It must’ve been hard to tell me
That you’ve given all you had to give
I can understand you’re feeling that way
Everybody’s got their life to live
Well, I can say goodbye in the cold morning light
But I can’t watch love die in the warmth of the night
If I’ve got to be strong
Don’t you know I need to have tonight when you’re gone?
‘Till you go I need to lie here and think about
The last time that you’ll touch me in the morning
Then just close the door
Leave me as you found me, empty like before
Wasn’t it yesterday
We used to laugh at the wind behind us?
Didn’t we run away and hope
That time wouldn’t try to find us (Didn’t we run)
Didn’t we take each other
To a place where no one’s ever been?
Yeah, I really need you near me tonight
‘Cause you’ll never take me there again
Let me watch you go
With the sun in my eyes
We’ve seen how love can grow
Now we’ll see how it dies
If I’ve got to be strong
Don’t you know I need to have tonight when you’re gone?
‘Till you go I need to hold you until the time
Your hands reach out and touch me in the morning
(Mornings where blue and gold and we could feel one another living)
Then just walk away
(We walked with a dream to hold and we could take what the world was giving)
We don’t have tomorrow
(There’s no tomorrow here, there’s only love and the time to chase it)
But we had yesterday
(But yesterday’s gone my love, there’s only now and it’s time to face it)
Touch me in the morning… -
Where Is the Love
Song by Donny Hathaway and Roberta FlackWhere is the love? (Where is the love?)
Where is the love? (Where is the love?)
Where is the love? (Where is the love?)
Where is the love?
Where is the love?
You said, you’d give to me
As soon as you were free
Will it ever be?
Where is the love?
You told me that you didn’t love him
And you were gonna say, goodbye
But if you really didn’t mean it
Why did you have to lie?
Where is the love?
You said, was mine, all mine
Till the end of time
Was it just a lie?
Where is the love?
If you had, had a sudden change of heart
I wish that you would tell me so
Don’t leave me hangin’ on the promises
You’ve got to let me know
Oh, how I wish, I never met you
I guess, it must have been my fate
To fall in love with someone else’s love
All I can do is wait
That’s all I can do, yeah yeah
Where is the love? (Where is the love?)
Where is the love? (Where is the love?)
Where is the love? (Where is the love?)
Where is the love? (Where is the love?)
Where is the love? (Where is the love?)
Where is the love? (Where is the love?)
Where is the love? (Where is the love?)
Where is the love? (Where is the love? -
God Bless This Child
Song by Diana Ross/Billie HolidayThem that’s got shall get
Them that’s not shall lose
So the Bible said and it still is news
Mama may have, Papa may have
But God bless the child that’s got his own
That’s got his own
Yes, the strong gets more
While the weak ones fade
Empty pockets don’t ever make the grade
Mama may have, Papa may have
But God bless the child that’s got his own
That’s got his own
Money, you’ve got lots of friends
Crowding round the door
When you’re gone, and spending ends
They don’t come no more
Rich relations give
Crust of bread and such
You can help yourself
But don’t take too much
Mama may have, Papa may have
But God bless the child that’s got his own
That’s got his own -

“Quiet Storm”Soft and warm a quiet storm
Quiet as when flowers talk at break of dawn, break of dawn
A power source of tender force generatin’, radiatin’
Turn me on, turn them onYou short-circuit all my nerves
Promising electric things
You touch me and suddenly there’s rainbow ringsQuiet storm, blowin’ through my life
Oh, quiet storm, blowin’ through my life
Oh, blow babyWindy sigh, weaken my
Butterfly caught up in a hurricane, hurricane
Lucky me, I’m better free
Suddenly I’m caught up in your somber rainShower me with your sweet love
I will bathe in every drop
Through all the seasons let it pour and never stopQuiet storm, blowin’ through my life, through my life
You’re just like a quiet storm, blowin’ through my lifeShower me with your sweet love
I will bathe in every drop
Through all the seasons let it pour and never stopQuiet storm, blowin’ through my life, through my life
You’re just like a quiet storm, blowin’ through my life
Blow baby, blow baby -

Hi. Guess what???? Hubby’s appointment is tomorrow and not today. Guess I was a little ahead of myself. Received an e-mail from the physical therapy people with additional questions. Within the questionnaire was the day, date and time of appointment. This group seems to have it all together. Oh, they also included the name of the therapist. I will have a book with me. No problems.
The farmers market is just about two miles from the medical center where husband will be going. Fingers will be crossed that his leg will be less painful so we can make a stop on our way home. There are a bunch of stores right around the corner from there. Again, that will be up to hubby.
I did purchase the Manuka Honey from HSN. It wasn’t the best price I have seen, however, wanted to give this vendor a try. I did not do auto ship at this time. I felt the presentation left a lot to be desired. I have no idea how many were sold, but they left out the important aspect of this when they did not include the medicinal qualities. Grant you what may work for one may not do the same justice for someone else. Still I felt this was needed. I am trying the Manuka for the Eustachian problem and I do find that it is helping somewhat. So far, though, I think that surgery may be in the cards, but we shall see. The ENT did say it would take a lot of time, so maybe I just have to have a bit more patience.
Still on the fence with the Covid booster. Hubby is also. Since my Mam is scheduled in January, will wait until that is over and done with. Also, hubby’s physical therapy is in the same building and on the same floor.
I will write sometime tomorrow on the physical therapy. It should be an interesting day.
Take care and enjoy your walk in moonlight with Poppy.

@Sheba
Hello Sheba, how are you and Poppy today. Kind of party cloudy here with pleasant temperatures. November is flying by, Veterans Day already this Thursday. A sweet potato pie sounds wonderful. You can make the pastry a couple days ahead keeping it cold in the fridge. And the pie can be made a day ahead should you need to.
I don’t know if I told you this, my first time I had green beans as a child and sweet potatoes was in a childhood friends home. I had just arrived in the US, started going to school, how how made friends with her. Leslie Williams, she lived in the same neighborhood my sister did. And her father made me eat vegetables at their dinner table. To this day I love green beans and sweet potatoes. I often wonder how she is doing, I think she was just a few years younger than me. Because my sister enrolled me into a lower grade in school than I was due to not speaking English. And today I speak several languages which I love. Are you making any soup? Do you like potato leek soup? It’s easy to make and just a few ingredients. And can be made one day ahead.
Take Care Sheba. -
Giving Away Power
We can avoid giving away our power on a daily basis by listening to our own voice of knowing.
In many ways, we are taught from the time we are children to give away our power to others. When we were told to kiss and hug relatives or friends of the family when we didn’t want to, for example, we were learning to override our inner sense of knowing and our right to determine for ourselves what we want to do. This repression continued, most likely, in many experiences at school and in situations at work. At this point, we may not even know how to hold on to our power, because giving it away is so automatic and ingrained.
To some degree, giving our energy to other people is simply part of the social contract, and we feel that we have to do it in order to survive. It is possible to exchange energy in a way that preserves our inner integrity and stability. This begins in a small way: by listening to the voice that continues to let us know what we want, no matter how many times we override its messages.
Other examples of how we give away our power are buying into trends, letting other people always make decisions for us, not voting, and not voicing an opinion when an inappropriate joke is made. But with not giving our power away we must also be aware of the opposite side, which is standing in our power but being aggressive. Being aggressive is a form of fear, and the remedy is to let our inner balance come back into play.
As we build a relationship with our power, and follow it, we begin to see that we don’t always have to do what we’re being asked to do by others, and we don’t have to jump on every trend. All we have to do is have the confidence to listen to our own voice and let it guide us as we make our own decisions in life and remember the necessity for balance. Amen! ✨✨😎
