Conversation – 16
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 16 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 7 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread.
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

Good evening. The sun is down and it is a bit cloudy. We are now entering the middle of the week and there is a chance of rain and thunderstorms each day. Over the weekend, the weather people kept saying that the Gulf Coast was getting rain. Funny, it skipped our neighborhood and went North.
The land in Florida is flat. However, you would think it would be boring not seeing the mountains or the fall foliage. But, it isn’t. Everyday there are huge clouds in the sky and some do look like mountains in the distance. Then there are the formations that droop downwards where you feel you could stand and touch them. One of my favorite pastimes is to look at those clouds and try to figure out who they represent be it animal, fish, reptile, dog, cat or a person. About a month ago there was a cloud of a bear hugging a blanket and right next to him was a human foot. These were really outstanding and a masterpiece in and of itself. It was as clear as daylight.
Hubby’s doctor appointment is tomorrow. He has ruled out using the wheelchair. He tried the walker and decided against that as well. So now we are down to a cane that the doctor will say no to. It’s not one to offer much support, but as long as he is happy, I will go along with it. Should be a very interesting visit. He will be asking when and if he can drive. Then he will ask if he can drive to our other homes (he will forget that I have ordered a few items that will not arrive until the end of next week for the kitchen and bath). Oh yes. I did say that the only thing I will pack will be clothing since I am the one who will be unloading the van.
I am praying for a miracle. Like you, and many others, hate and dread the “C” word. There have been many new break throughs in the last few months. I just hope and pray that there is one for your BIL.

Long trip over and back home safely. Thank you for your post. I know what is like to finish the ride and then discover there is nothing in the frig and no matter how tired we are, there we go to the market to replenish those supplies be it the same evening or early the next day. This is one of the reasons we make our annual stop in Pa. Have a Coleman frig in the car that hooks into a plug in and keeps the temp around 40 degrees. I also carry a freezer bag with 2 frozen ice packs. Only nerve racking part is unloading the van.
I love horses and grew up going to summer camp while both parents worked. I used to ride every morning for a couple of hours. Then one summer my horse was kicked by another horse and galloped away with me still in the saddle. I eventually fell off and cracked an ankle bone that never healed right, but so what. The next day there I was back on the same horse and riding away as if nothing happened. Getting on a horse today would be difficult what with arthritis and whatever. But, still will go to a farm and stand there watching. Magnificent and gentle animals.
I hope you have another opportunity to return for another few weeks or more. I always enjoy the smell of hot cocoa and the crunching of dried leaves underfoot. Nothing like sitting back and enjoying the view from the deck. I bet Jewel and Little D cannot wait to be on the deck curled up and enjoying the cool mountain air.

Good Afternoon to you Sheba, I am doing as well as I can be. How are you today? No rain so far and its much needed. I do hope your BIL has the chance to get better some how, it’s a horrible disease.
The yummy smell is a cheese bread in the oven right now. It’s with cheese of course, and almond flour. My husband has a birthday this week and I am trying to bake and make something for him everyday. Later I will be making a mini cheese cake with his sugar substitute. And a blueberry topping for dessest most likely tomorrow. Then, tomorrow I will try to pull off a chickpea flour and red lentils flour ravioli for him.
Have a great rest of your afternoon Sheba and enjoy your evening too. Take care Sheba. -
Beautiful day in the ‘burgh, we will be above 80 tomorrow. I think we will take mom to the winery on Thursday for lunch, then I will be back on Friday for the weekly shopping trips and hair appointment. She has functions every other day next week so keeping her busy until sis returns.😊
Thank you so, so much for always remembering Jake. I still can’t talk about him without getting choked up.😥 I don’t know when this will end but his love will always be with me. I miss him like you miss Sheba.💗🐶💗
Enjoy your evening during these beautiful fall days/nights. I just wish we could go from fall to spring – hate the winter!😫

@oodiebom,
Good afternoon in Florida.🌹
Oodiebom, I saw your post and wanted to thank you for the safe travel wishes. We did enjoy our time away, especially the cooler weather. I love animals and seeing the horses and elk is always a treat.
We arrived last night and fed the fur babies before doing anything else. We give them treats and water along the way because it is always past their mealtime by the time we get home. They really are very good travelers.
Much to do, but first I need to go to the grocery store for much needed staples.
Take care Oodiebom, You and your Husband are on my prayer list too.
I have been loving the precious kitties Sheba has been posting for you. -
@sheba2011,
Howdy Sheba 😘😎
We are safely back home in sunny Texas. Rolled in last night at dark 30–long day. We were 4 tired
“puppies “, 😂.
Trying to decide what to tackle first but wanted to say hello before heading out to the grocery store.
Sheba, I did see your post and my song, Shadow Dancing. Thank you. I do love to dance and when I play my music, I will dance around the house and temporarily forget my troubles and enjoy the music 🎼 .
Jewel and Little D have thoroughly patrolled their yard and is now safe for Mommy!! We aren’t even thinking of doing any yard work for a few days. I do wish I could have been a horse whisperer and convinced one of those beautiful horses to come home with me😜. I will miss seeing them.
Sheba, have a nice Tuesday . Prayers, Blessings and Hugs.❤️🌹 -

Working from Center
When you feel you are in the thick of things, tapping into your own inner resources will help bring strength.
When we are “in the thick of it,” overwhelmed by too many things that need our attention, it’s important to remember that we are never given more than we can handle. When life’s challenges make us question this, our best coping mechanism is to follow the reliable and well-known course to our calm center and anchor ourselves there. It is for these times that we have been practicing regularly, so that our mind, body, and spirit will know how to find the peace within. Even in the midst of seeming chaos, a deep breath can help us turn within to find the space to work from, the calm at the center of the storm.
Tapping into our inner resources we begin again, bringing our focus to the needs of the present moment. Asking “why?” shifts our energy away from the task at hand. We can seek answers to those questions once we get to the other side of the present challenge. For now, we accept what is. Once we have collected scattered energy and created space, inspiration will strike, help will arrive, and what seemed impossible will either become possible or we will find it has become unnecessary. The flow of the universe and its perfect order has room to move in our lives when we get ourselves and our extraneous thoughts out of the way.
After the thick has become thin again, we have the opportunity to learn from the situation with a better idea of our true capabilities. We can now ask ourselves the “why” questions with the goal of fine-tuning our lives. Perhaps we have taken on more than is ours to do or made commitments out of obligation rather than insight. It could just be the ebb and flow and life, or we may be receiving life lessons on a fast track in preparation for something wonderful to come. But when we have a chance to make new choices, we know the best ones are made when we work from center. Amen! ✨
